Lucius over dramaticly sighed and rolled his eyes.

"No, I am not going to kill you, so please get that thought out of your mind." He said, slightly annoyed. He then turned his swivel chair around so he faced the computer again. He was silent for a few seconds as he worked on it. The computer beeped suddenly and he turned the chair around again to face the guard and Kadvar.

"I asume that you don't want to stay at that tempature?" He said. "That chair will warm you faster than that room." He said. Lucius stood up and walked over to them.

"Now we'll see how long it takes for you to warm back up." He said, grinning slightly.

Kadvar was somewhat more comfortable to hear he wasn't in a death machine, but why was he grinning? At the very least this wasn't a second test as he thought it was. He felt his body warm up thanks to the chair. He rested his wrists against the chair, his wrists being more sensitive to temperature than any normal person's would. He wasn't suprised by this sensitivity as his wrists would always feel like they were overheating after using his gift. He wished the chair would heat him up faster. Howver, he knew that if he were to heat up too fast his condition would merely worsen, probably.

Lucius pased slowly in the room with his hands behind his back. His unbuttoned lab coat swished behind him like a really bad looking cape. He stopped and looked over at Kadvar with a smug look on his face.

"While your here," He said. "Perhaps we should try something else before you go back to your room."

He had tested how cold he could be, but how about the other way around? How hot would he get without negative effects. Lucius guessed he could handle a lot more then a regular person.

Lucius sat down on his chair again and leaned back a little.

"We'll wait until your back to a normal tempature again." He said.

More testing? He couldn't wait until he escaped from this facility, given their plan to escape works. "How about we not and call it a day?" He muttered, as though it would make a difference. Kadvar was known to overheat more quickly when using his gift. He didn't know how much heat he could handle when not using his gift. He assumed Lucius was still angry with him, but he couldn't apolagize any further. The egotistical maniac didn't deserve any further apologies.

For now he rested his face against the chair, almost wishing he had a chair like this. Maybe if he escaped he'd get himself a heated chair. His wrists were warm enough, and felt warmer then his body. He shifted his wrists away from the chair.

Lucius heard Kadvar's comment, but choose not to respond to it. He saw no reason to.

"Please move him back in." He said to the guard. "Using the cuffs to move him wont effect the test." He added. Now that Kadvar wasn't weakened by cold, he could try something.

Lucius turned back to his computer and started programing in what he wanted it to do. He was more interested in this test than the one before. It was logical that Kadvar would be weak to old and not to heat but that didn't always mean that it was true. Also just how much could he take?

So soon? He liked the chair, and gave the gaurd a little trouble when told to start moving. They put on the cuffs that he hated so much, and brought him into the room. He hadn't had two tests in a day before, and his last test had made him tired. The guard removed the cuffs and left the room, leaving him alone again. "I'm waiting," he grumbled. It wasn't like he had anything to do or anywhere to go, but couldn't help but become impatient. "Hello? Are you even listening?" He grumbled.

The room had grown a little warmer. He felt his wrists became slightly sensitive and held them under his arms again, though the rest of his body seemed unnaffected so far by the heat.

Lucius was turning up the heat faster than he did with the cold. Not by much, but it should reach a very high number much quicker. If he let is rise the same speed as he let it drop before he guessed he would be waiting here a long time.

Lucius noticed that Kadvar had been covering up his wrists and was becoming curious as to why. People usually had there fingers, toes and ears get effected by cold before the rest of the body, but the wrists? That wasn't normal, though Kadvar wasn't known for being normal.

"Why do you keep covering your wrists?" Lucius said.

There had to be an organ or something in his wrists, as they started concentrating his body heat and absorbing some of the heat around him. The blood vessels in his wrists had begun contracting, isolating his body heat to his wrists. His wrists were sore and felt awefully warm because of this. His wrists had absorbed the cold too, but far too quickly. Earlier his blood vessels in his veins wouldn't contract as much as the cold, so the chilled blood had travelled freely through his body. "Wouldn't you?" He had brought up the sensitivity in his wrists before to other scientists, but they ignored him so he assumed it was normal.

At around 80-85 degrees he started acting like he was in room temperature, acting far more comfortable than he had been before. He continued sheltering his wrists though, as they were warmer than the room. The air would feel cold to his wrists.

"No, I wouldn't." Lucius said. He was a little annoyed that Kadvar did not actually answer his question. Rather he answered the question with another question.

"Please answer the question." Lucius said. "Why are you covering your wrists?" He repeated.

If Kadvar refused to answer, Lucius had many things up his sleves to get him to speak. There were many test subjects that wouldn't do anything no matter how many times you asked. That is when you have to bring out the 'persuasion', or what the gifteds call it, torture. But in realality they didn't hurt them long term or anything. They could recover from them pretty quickly. Well, at least some of them.

The temperature raised slightly, his body not reacting much. His wrists were definitely getting warmer though. His wrists were sore so he started rubbing them, as they ached from his blood vessels contracting . Kadvar thought what he was doing was normal, he had seen people try to shelter their hands many times, thinking they were sheltering their wrists. He wondered why Lucius wanted to know the answer to the question so much. None of the other scientists had ever seemed so concerned. "They're just sensitive, isn't that normal?" He slightly questioned Lucius' intelligence. To him it felt like asking, why are you wet in a rainstorm, or why your hair was a mess in the morning.

"No, it is not normal. People try to warm their hands, not their wrists." Lucius explained. He was very bothered by the fact that Kadvar wasn't answering the question in the way he would have liked. But he did not show his annoyance in his features or voice.

"Explain to me how they are sensitive." Lucius ordered.

The fact that Kadvar thought that this was normal implied that he always had this issue. That meant that he must have had his gift at a very young age rather than it showing up in his teens. Most gifteds did not have their gift activated until they were about thirdteen.

If it wasn't normal he wondered why scientists hadn't told him before. He couldn't but feel these were dumb questions. He preffer not to answer all these trivial questions. They made him feel like an idiot just for answering them. "This is stupid, other scientists don't seem to be concerned about it. Why take interest now?" Of course, he had been stuck with many new scientists before who weren't as experienced as Lucius, but Kadvar hadn't known that. He sheltered his wrists again. At some point his blood vessels would no longer be able to contract, and when that happened all the trapped heat in his wrists would flow freely through his body. He didn't know this, and even if he did he'd have no warning when they were about to give out.

"Why does it matter why I am interested in it?" Lucius said. "I asked you a question and you are expected to answer it."

Lucius started looking through the computer, searching for something to get Kadvar to stop answering his questions with his own questions. He needed something that wouldn't effect the test that was already going. He listed all the ones that would work in its own list and looked over them. This took him about four mintues.

"If you don't anwer me, I will be forced to make you answer. Trust me, you don't want that." Lucius said, a tad bit of venom in his voice.

He mocked Lucius in his head, a control freak like many scientists in the facility. He was slightly aggravated by his sore wrists, and having to do a second test. He was asking him what he thought to be trivial questions. "What an idiot," he muttered to himself, half hoping Lucius didn't hear him, half hoping that he did. His wrists were to warm for underneath his arm so he moved them away, though he almost didn't want to because of the cold air. If his wrists weren't so agictated and he wasn't still frustrated with Lucius, he would have already answered him by now. "How about no?" Making his sentence into a question, noticing Lucius seemed frustrated with them.

Lucius did hear Kadvar's comment and that was what drove him off the edge. This gifted had been getting on his nerves for too long and it was time that he paid for it. Lucius wasn't going to go into the extreame punishments just yet. It was perferable that a smaller punishment would get Kadvar to speak. Sciensts did pay fines for damaging a test subject without good reason.

He quickly looked over the list before he picked one and activated it. It cause an aweful stench to fill the room. A discusting mixture of sewage, cat urine and rotting food. It didn't harm Kadvar in any way, but it was most definately discusting.

"There are much worse things then this. Answer me and you would have to see them." Lucius said.

Lab Rats (Gifted Roleplay)
Setting

All the characters are at a lab in a remote island. All the guards and scientists live in buildings around the lab. Most of the lab is under ground. The lab is very guarded and is pretty much impossable to excape from. There are rooms of about five Gifteds all in their own cell, but they are able to see each other and speak to each other.

Plot

In our world, we expect we all have the same kinds of abilities, we can all do the same things, it all just depends on what you practice. However that believe is wrong, there are people born with strange, fantastic and even dangerous powers known as Gifteds. It doesn't matter if the parents are Gifted, the children produced seem to be randomly Gifted or non-Gifted.

Of course normal people fear the Gifteds, they are stronger than them, more dangerous than them and they have no way of knowing who is who. That's why when people learned of them the hunt for Gifteds started almost immediately.

The caught Gifteds were sent away to a place only known as 'The Labs' where they are experimented on to find their weaknesses and their strengths. Their final goal is to find a way to control them and use them for wars.

History

Lucius brought Nori and Alex for a test to see if Alex could heal Nori's sickness.

Alex was drugged in order to savely bring him back to his cell.

Kadvar told Alex his plans to excape by writing on a card and passing it to him.

Kadvar is dirtying his cell to try to attract Nori.

Rusty is being lazy and not updating this.

Rules

Please play as the minority group so we don't get overflowed with one type of character.

Please look at other characters and do not make Gifteds with a power someone already has.

All powers must have weaknesses. For example, most Gifteds will loose control of their ability while under stress.

Only one power for each Gifted.

Both guards and scientists carry weapons, but scientists will only use them if a guard isn't around.

No killing without permission.
