Volkov saw the strange and ridiculously sick wolf make his way over to them. He felt pity over the wolf, he was a long-time follower of his. Disgusted, he shook the poor wolf's vomit off of himself and looked at Timov. "Listen, if you help me get rid of this foolish pup, I will give you your food." He reasoned. "And if you manage to kill that wolf, you can always eat him too!" He sneered and growled at his nephew.

The huge crack in the ground near them continued to make the earth tremble and occasionally spit out steam and other strange gases as they talked.

Coal felt like crap as Volkov denied the fight. He watched as his uncle walked away a few paces. Coal was about to charge ahead when he saw the other wolf. This wolf was sickly looking. Coal was about to leave when he heard Volkov's voice. "Foolish pup?" asked Coal. "I'm tired of being called that," he said. He turned to hear Volkov tell the wolf to kill and eat Coal. Coal's ears went back as his amber eyes widened. He bristled. "What?!" exclaimed Coal. "I am NOT a prey of choice, uncle!" yelled Coal. "I am a Fighter wolf and I will not be beaten by the likes of you..........and you," growled Coal, looking at the sickly wolf. Coal's tail curved into the air as he growled, getting into fighting stance. "Come at me if you can," he growled. Coal didn't know why this wolf was here, but he wasn't about to be talked about like he was a weak little deer. Coal was a wolf with a lot of fighting experience. This sick wolf wouldn't dare fight a healthy, large Fighter wolf like Coal......would he? Coal shook the thought.

Moon Moon was terrified by this claim that horses did eat wolves. He would have to keep a close eye on Zelos. He refused to let a thing eat him! He continued to babble on about his theories on Volkov's reptilian scent and the nature of horses. He stopped once the squirrel, Squeeky, wandered up to him holding a small, white flower. It was a pretty thing. Moon Moon leaned in to sniff the flower, then nudge the squirrel with his snout playfully. Then, the horse playfully denied that he was involved into a group. Moon Moon raised his head and tilted it, staring down the large, tan horse. Was he saying that Moon Moon wasn't allowed to stick around? Squeeky was right about him being lonely. Most of his time was spent wandering around, trying to find a suitable home. Packs chased him off, deeming him too stupid to be able to join their ranks. He wanted desperately to be able to have a group hunt, and then able to bring down a deer. Maybe even a buck if they were good enough! He thought for a moment, blinking twice. If he was denied the right to join this group, was it still possible to learn more about this mysteriously evil Volkov? "Could I join?" He asked after a while. "I like friends. Friends are nice. Without friends, we'd all be lonely and trying to eat each other! Brr." He acted as if he was shivering. "I don't want to eat another wolf! That would be gro-oss! IF I can join, I will! I like friends, and you guys are awesome!"

Tala made it back to the camp with the others. Everyone was tired and worn by the events which took place, and somewhat disturbed by all that they saw. They were hunters and fighters, but the unrestrained savegry of the rogues and the dark wolf Coal was more than expected. It was a short battle, sure, but it was a wake up call, and many of the wolves, upon entering the camp, uttered not a word but instead retired for the night.

Tala was not feeling so well herself, but she had to brush it off and stand strong for her pack. She looked around, watching the wolves as they walked around somberly, dragging their tails. Tala let out a sigh, her eyes sad as she looked on. Just then, her father appeared at her side. "Are you alright, Tala?" He asked, his face kind. Tala smiled a small smile back at him, but could not keep it. She frowned. "Everything went wrong today, father. And it's all my fault." She whinned. Tala's father raised a brow "How so?" He asked, his voice soothing and calm, despite the terrors which took place before him only hours ago. Tala looked up at him. "It's just...!" She started, but having a bit of trouble gathering the right words as they swam around in her head, she simply let out a sigh of frustration.

"I should have never trusted Coal." Tala continued. "I knew he was trouble from the start. My instincts told me not to trust him, and I did." She cryed, as she looked down. Her father nudged her gently. Tala seemed to be reflecting. She looked to her father. "Coal didn't need to kill the wolf. They were going to retreat. But he acted blindly and viciously!" Then a thought crossed her mind. She could suddenly see Volkov in her head, standing before her cackling - that cold, absent look in his eyes; that wolf that seemed to have no soul. Tala then thought about Coal. She tried to remember what it was that made her think he could be trusted. Now, when she thought of Volkov and Coal, she couldn't make out the difference between the two.

Tala looked around the camp, a small pup had wandered out of his den and was watching the warriors return. It's eyes were heavy and tired, and it didn't seem to understand. Tala watched as it stood there for a while, then ran back inside. "Father.." Tala started, her voice weak and suddenly shaky. "What if Coal did return with us. What if we let him in, and he did something terrible.." Tala shuddered. She was thinking of Firefly. Tala's father was silent, as was his daughter.

Timov, upon hearing the suggestion that he kill and eat Coal, immediately shot up from rolling in the puddle of his bile in the ditch.  He retched once more, and a cold shiver shot down his spine, shaking his head down to his tail and back up, back and forth and back and forth.

"Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh heeee hehe he hee he heeee"

He wheezed, sauntering closer to the large fighting wolf

"Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee LAGHBLA he heeee he heee he hee GLAUGHGA"

With another wretch, he suddenly sprang, though not at the other wolf; He spran three feet to the other wolve's left, and wretched.  He sprang back, and threw up a couple more times, all the while shaking.  Springing, pouncing, lunging, left and right and up and down and forward and backward, all the while shaking and wheezing;

"Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh heeee hee BLAUGHAH he hee hee he"

The ground was now covered in a slick layer of swirling vomit, equal amounts dripping from Timov's pale, oily coat, and from his tight, broken muzzle.

Coal looked around. It was vomit everywhere. "It's a barrier," said Coal. If he rushed at the wolf, Coal would slip and fall. "He's trying to test my experience," said Coal. He looked over at Volkov. He then looked at a rock. Coal smiled and said, "Watch this." Coal kicked the rock, sending it flying into a tree. The rock knocked off a piece of park that fell on a vine. The vine snapped up, whipping a tree branch off the tree. The branch fell just an inch away from the sickly wolf's tail, causing a set of vines on the ground to snap together and upwards, trapping the wolf and netting it in the air. Coal then growled at Volkov saying, "This isn't the last time you'll see me." Coal then kicked another rock, this time hitting Volkov in the eye. Coal ran off. "A cowardly move, but at least I saved my own hide," he said. Coal ran on, gaining three miles ahead. He then stopped an hour later, arriving at the edge of Catori territory.

Luckily for Timov, the only vines there really are this season are the thin green creepers and the dry, brittle dead vines from last season, which died during the winters.  THese quickly snapped, even against the frail weight of an animal such as Timov, and this sent him spiraling back toward the acrid, bile-stained ground.  This sent up an oily splash, which drenched one side of everything standing near.  Timov too, started to run, but not to chase the other wolf and not to escape the horrific, accidic stench; He was running from the crack in teh ground, which was now grumbling loudly and sending all kinds of gasses and even small rocks flying.  Evaporated vomit rised from the ground of a sickly, swirling cloud, that would not mingle with the steam.  Meanwhile, timov ran, first this way, then that, in no particular pattern at all, vomiting here and there, leaving a runny tail of sliding, acrid ooze in his wake.

Poe arrived home. In reality, Poe didn't really have a permanent settlement in which she dwelled. She was a nomad, moving here and there. Being on the move constantly kept her mind moving, as she always had to make new decisions. It was better this way. Why live in one place in particular? There was no need. She had no emotional attatchments to any one place, and no family of friends to hold her down.

What normally sent Poe moving from one place to the other was the over population, as new animals were constantly moving into any place she decided to stay. She was not territorial in the least bit, so she would move out everytime this happened. She needed peace and quiet, space to train. Neighbors were noisy and intrusive. These were the usual excuses. Truth is, however, Poe doesn't mind them so much. She would sometimes watch other animals, observing them and find herself aching to belong..to something..to someone.

Poe now entered her current home, a den hidden somewhere in the thick of the forest. Tall trees surrounded her home, providing her with plenty of shade during the day, and plenty of quiet at night. Not that she slept much. Poe preferred to stay up at night and train. It was when she was most active, as if she drew energy from the moon. She used to try to sleep at night, but her past would often come back to haunt her in her dreams. Keeping active was key, because it kept her mind on other things. Like survival.

This night was different, however. Poe had been injured, and needed time to recouperate. She entered her den and laid down at the mouth of it, the moon light shinning on her face. Her eyes caught the light as well, and gleamed like two golden orbs in the night. She looked out into the woods, her mind a thousand miles away. She felt her lids grow heavy, and she almost forced herself to keep them open but her efforts would be in vain.

Poe slept that night, but by no means soundly, for the nightmares had returned again with a vengeance.

Coal's right ear swiveled back as he heard the sound of the ground cracking. "Foolish wolf," said Coal. "You ran from a battle," he said. Coal shook the thought and then looked at the border line of the Catori territory. If he crossed it, he would probably be attacked by the pack of wolves. If he turned back, he would be hunted down most likely. Coal had to think. He had been on the run for five years straight. If he kept it up, he'd be a coward for life. Coal had to think. "Tala would probably have me killed on sight," said Coal. His thoughts veered off as he heard a silent stalker in the grass. Coal sniffed the air. It was a feline's scent and it was heading for the Catori's den site. "Tala," Coal said. Coal walked forward, watching the feline stalk forward. Coal was about to spring when the feline dashed ahead, heading for the den. "No," growled Coal. He went after the cat. "It's either a tiger or a cougar," said Coal. If this feline killed Tala or a pup, Coal would be devastated. Coal was on trail.
The cat arrived at the den site and saw a little wolf pup. The cat circled the den, it's eyes darting back and forth from Tala to the pup. The ca growled. It then circled once more. The feline leapt into the den site, knocking Tala to the ground. The wolves advanced. The cat, seeming to be a cougar, dodged the wolves. Tala's father attacked. The cougar knocked Tala's father to the ground, injuring his shoulder. The cougar then turned to the little pup. "Firefly, run!" yelled one of the wolves. The cougar growled, screeched, and leapt at the pup. Firefly screamed. A snarl split the air. Coal leaped into the den site and tackled the cougar. The two wrestled. Coal dodged the cougar's attacks. He then bit down on the cat's neck and threw it to a tree. The cat attacked again. Coal dodged another blow and slammed the cat to the ground, injuring its spine. Coal growled and ripped at the cat's chest. Coal then threw the cat into another tree. "Leave now!" he snarled. The cougar growled and ran off, injured and mad.

"BLAGUGHA"

Timov stoped a moment , his back arching and his entire being shuddering, to let out a considerable volume of steaming vomit.  It rushed downhill, and, having nothing better to do, Timov followed it's path through the trees, intermittently adding to it's racing, acrid trickle. The swirling, technicolor mass of bile led him to a dip in the ground, not surprisingly, and he shot off to the left.  Zigzaggin randomly once more, the pale, stinking wolf raced through the forest as if it were a game, bringing his bitter acid stench to creatures miles around.  And then he burst in on some other wolves.  The skin-and-bones animal that was Timov jumped at one of their pups, sniffed intently, and vomited.  Then, he ran in a tight circle, shrieking

"Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaantelope"

and lurched in front of the wolf that looked to be the leader, coming to a shaking stop, the evil concoction that coated his tangled coat dripping dripping upon their ground, and raising an equally evil, acrid smell.  he then threw up on the slightly smaller female(?) wolf at the side of the leader(?) wolf, and collapsed into his own bitter, sliding bile.

Zelos was amused by the look of terror he had managed to instill so apparently in the wolf`s expression ‘serves you right’ he thought with a smirk ‘have a piece of your own medicine’ he though contemptibly, thinking about all the times predators had looked at him like they wanted to kill him. He had considered telling the wolf that he had been joking, but it was more fun to make him quail. He shook his head puckishly and retuned his head to the grass to graze. After a bit he heard Moon Moon ask to join, he raised his head and stared at the wolf incredulously. It was unheard of, a wolf in the company of those it would consider prey. He hadn`t been expecting that… the wolf actually wanted to join them? Were they really even a group anyway? He had just met the others… he didn`t even know them, and yet—they wanted to be friends—why? It went against everything he had ever believed about other species, about carnivores even. He was baffled, utterly taken aback, but once it had a moment to sink in; he realized that having a wolf around might have its advantages. Moon Moon was annoying undoubtedly, but maybe the benefits outweighed the drawbacks in that case. Zelos tilted his head slightly At Moon Moon, then looked at the others and back to Moon Moon; there was no point in teasing he simply said it straight “sure, you can join” he added a nod just to show he was being sincere as sometime with him it was difficult to tell. “You have to promise not to attack anyone here though, because if you do you will be sorry” he warned in a more serious tenor, stomping the ground a couple of times for good measure, then flipped his tone “if you can promise that, then I will promise not to eat any wolves” he said mischievously adding a wink, before continuing to graze.

He hadn`t been planning on sticking around this region very long, but maybe all these others gathering around him was a sign that he should stick around; since his family must be searching for him, he figured they would have an easier time finding him if he wasn`t traveling all over the country.

The sun had completely disappeared below the horizon by that point, and the land was dark and still. The darkness caused him to be more alert, he would not move around much in the night, nor would he sleep as he needed very little sleep. Though he hadn`t been sleeping as well since getting separated from his band; sleep was practically the only time he felt vulnerable.

Suddenly he heard some kind of commotion off in the direction of the wolves camp, but he wasn`t about to go investigate. He felt safe enough at the distance he was from them, and he had the forest behind him to obscure his form against the night. He backed up against the forest line just to be sure that he couldn`t be seen. If he was undisturbed he would be content to simply graze the entirety of the night.

Squeeky got happy to hear that Moon Moon would like to come with them. She looked at Zelos. Squeeky got surprised to hear Zelos say "sure, you can join". Then he said that Moon Moon had to promise not to attack any of them. Squeeky looked at Moon Moon, and back to Zelos. And when Zelos said that he wouldn't eat any wolves if Moon Moon could promise that. Squeeky sighed. Squeeky walked up to Moon Moon. "It almost seems like we now are a pack, a very uncommon pack. A squirrel, an otter, a horse and a wolf. This should be fun." Squeeky smiled, and then she walked back to Sparky and Zelos.
Moon Moon continued to look at Zelos. He was terrified of being near something that claimed that it could eat him. By the look of Zelos's feet, he could stomp on wolves too. He tilted his head left and right as he thought this over. A promise not to eat them? Of course he could do that! That was the easiest deal offered! He barked happily, "I won't eat any of you! Besides, I like rabbits more." He crouched playfully and rasped his tongue over Squeeky's head in a sign of affection. He did the same for Sparky, but he found it difficult to show Zelos any kind of affection. Zelos was a huge thing compared to himself. He hopped over to the horse and licked his foreleg. That had to be affectionate, he was sure. He was pleased with this "pack" of theirs, even though as Squeeky pointed out, it was rather strange. He heard something in the distance, which made him perk up. He listened at the commotion of wolves. He was intimidated by the thought of a wolf pack close by, but perhaps tomorrow his own "pack" would escape the radar of the wolves.

Zelos was both amused and slightly uncomfortable when he heard Squeeky describe the group of them as a ‘pack’, he shook his head; he didn`t consider them a pack, they were no hunters and the group of them wouldn`t intimidate a thing. As he was pondering that sentiment, he was surprised by the feel of slobber on his leg, he raised his leg up high immediately; an automatic reaction. “Do you mind?” he grumbled annoyed, “no licking!” he demanded as he lowered his leg back to the ground “listen just because we`re a group doesn’t mean we have to get all chummy with each other… you got that?” he stated nonchalantly “but I guess I`ll let it go this time” he winked and went back to his grazing.

Four Seasons: Spring
Setting
The setting takes place in a land that feels the extremities of each season, in Spring, the flowers bloom abundantly and radiantly. In Summer, the heat is brutal and tries even the strongest souls. The Autumn time paints the leaves with gold and amber, and the Winter is the harshet of all. Animals of every species coexist in this land. Large mountain ranges line the horizon, and the trees divide the woods from the plains. It is a beautiful land, but one which has suffered great damage over the course of the latest Winter, only time will tell if this land will survive.

Plot

Spring is here, and with the new season, a hope reborn. A hope for restoration, after the winter war left the land scarred and the woods divided. A rogue wolf known Volkov with a brutish personality and a desire to reak havoc has planted seeds of deception throughout the land over the last year, which resulted in the ruination of relationships and destruction of tight knit communities and a resulting season of chaos. But now, Volkov has been brought to his knees and has retreated for a time. Now for a new season. A season to rebuild and restore relationships, or perhaps for new ones to blossom. Volkov is not dead, and this season of peace may indeed last for a single Season. With the scent of trouble lurking somewhere in the shadows, will the community be restored, bonds be reestablished, and will they be strong enough to withstand what the new year might bring, or to stnd up to Volkov and his army if he should return?

The creatures of the land have been divided and wared against each other the entire winter before, but with the new Spring they have a chance to pull together, while not all will take the opportunity.Traitors will rise and join Volkov's army, while meantime the community will reunite. As bonds are formed in the raciance of Spring,  The fires of Summer, and the returning Winter will put them to the test. It's a test of the heart.

History

This RP is to be the first of 4 RP's, that is, if it does well. The characters developed and the bonds that they forge in this RP will be carried into the next Chapters, so this RP in particular is important for character development.

Also, whoever wishes to play as Volkov the Wolf must be the first to message me about it.

Rules

Rules are simple:

-No bad language

-Violence is obviously going to take place, but let's keep it G RATED! Nothing too graphic ( i.e. mutilation or getting too into detail over violent affairs. G rated. )

-No controlling other people's characters

-Romance is allowed (G)

-No powers/odd coloring/etc. Keep it as realistic as possible beyond the fact that the animals can obviously talk..

Message me if you have any questions or concerns. And remember, this is just for fun, so let's get along and just go with it :)

Also, since there is so much room for different species, if you have an idea of a species that you think I should include for playable characters, let me know. As of right now, I am using the generic ones.
