Alex was totally lying, there was no way they could only be cousins. But he still listened to Verner and let the water drain. He knew the limits of Duncan much better then Lucius did. He really did not want to pay the fee of seriously damaging or killing a test subject.

Alex's answer did comfirm that they were realated but not that they were closely realated like brothers. Lucius still wanted to know if they were.

"I don't beleive him." Lucius said. "I still want to do a DNA test to see if they are more closely realated then he is saying."

He didn't think it was too important to know if they were just cousins or brothers, but he didn't argue. He had preffered to avoid a DNA test though, at the soonest it could take two days to complete. Most of that time was just waiting for results to develop. If they were still going to do DNA testing it was prefferable that they took samples now than later. "Very well."

To keep their samples as sterile as possible they would need gloves, plastic bags, and tweezers to collect hair. Gloves were practically everywhere in this facility, and were already present in the room. "You wouldn't happen to have plastic bags or tweezers here would you?"

Some labs had stuff like this, some didn't. It depended on whatever was supplied to them, luck of the draw. If he didn't have this stuff he could always send one of the two guards out to get said supplies, and leave Duncan in the testing room.

"Of course." Lucius said. He reached for one of the storage units on the desk and opened it up. All of the stuff inside was neatly set up and labeled. Every thing that Lucius said was made this way. It only took him a second to find what was needed.

As he pulled it out he had an idea on how to get a more truthful answer out of the 'cousins'. They could use Duncan's nervousness and bad lying skills aginst him.

"I have an idea." Lucius said as he handed Verner the supplies. "We can take Duncan out then tell him that Alex told us they were realated and ask him to tell us how so. In his panic to try to answer the same as Alex he may say the truth, that they are brothers." He explained. He then glanced at Alex. "But we'll have to muzzle him in some way, or else he may tell Duncan what to say."

"I know a lab that may have some," he knew a scientist who worked with a fire breathing gifted. Often muzzles were used for gifted with dangerous breathing gifts, or gifteds who simply liked to bite people. He turned to one of the guards, "In lab B eight there should be a muzzle or two where the cuffs are usually stored. I don't think the scientist is doing any testing today."

The guard sighed and walked off, preffering that the other guard had been asked. The lab was further than the guard would have liked, and it took him awhile to make his way back. The guard walked back into the lab with a muzzle, having troble trying to get it on Alex who wasn't helping at all.

Alex's eyebrows raised in suprise and rage. Were they seriously going to muzzle him like he was a common dog or something? When the guard returned with said muzzle Alex did not make it easy for them to get it on.

He shook his head around and curse at them to the point were one guard had to take hold of him and forcefully keep his head still. The muzzle was far from the kind used for dogs. It had a strap that went around the head and over the mouth. It also had a band around the top of the head and chin. This made it impossable for Alex to open his mouth at all.

Alex clenched his fists, he was beside himself with rage. First they had to treat Duncan in such an aweful way, now they were tieing him down. The muzzle was extreamely tight and extreamely painful.

It didn't like Alex could open his mouth in the muzzle, it should hold. He seemed like the violent and stubborn type, but the muzzles were used daily on dangerous gifted so it seemed reliable enough. When Verner was new he was required to see how other scientists did their work. He had seen these muzzles used on a fire breathing gifted. The only types of gifteds they couldn't work on seemed to be strength gifted.

Hopefully Lucius' idea worked, he really didn't want to do a DNA test as they took awhile to do. He turned to a guard, "Could you get the gifted out here?" The guard walked into the testing room to go get Duncan.

Duncan fliched away from the guard when the door opened. He had no idea what was going on. He was confused and scared, he could not think of any reason for them to do the things they were doing to him. He was visabily shaking in fear.

When he was brought out of the room the first person he saw was Alex, restrained to the chair. He looked angry, and rightfully so. Duncan looked around, his dim mind still not putting together what they were doing.

"Alex just told us how you two were realated. Can you confirm that by telling us what he said?" Lucius said.

Duncan's eyes widened as painic set in. If he said the wrong thing they would think Alex was lying.

"I don't know..." He mumbled.

"How can you not know how your realated?" Lucius said. He stood up and walked over to Alex. He didn't feel like he was in any danger since Alex was so heavily restrained. Alex leaned away from him, as if he was a foul creature.

"I... I... ah..." Duncan studdered. He was breathing heavily now, his eyes darting around as if something in the room would give him an answer. In his painiced state, he said the last thing he should had said,

"Brothers." He said. He heard Alex sigh deeply and if his hands weren't tied down Duncan was sure he would have facepalmed.

It was about time they had a confession. They shouldn't have to do a DNA test now. That would save both him and Lucius a lot of time. Of course Verner couldn't actually do much in that time until tomarrow, when his lab should be fixed. He didn't look forward to working with that strength gifted again. There were few things that scared him, that gifted was one of them.

"That wasn't so hard, now was it?" He didn't know if Lucius was done with them or not. He wondered how Lucius would get Alex back to his cell, as he didn't seem too happy.

Duncan hung his head, defeated and Alex looked pretty upset about Duncan's answer. Lucius was sure that he was correct that these two were siblings. This information could be extreamely useful. There wasn't many comfirmed siblings in The Labs. It was still quite a mystery on how a person became gifted or non gifted. These parents ended up with two gifteds, but where they also gifted and that was why that happened?

"I think it may be best to send Duncan out before we do anything else with him." Lucius said, nodding to Alex.

It wouldn't be easy to do anything with Alex at the moment, it may be best to just sedate him.

Verner turned to the guard , "Could you move him back to his cell?" The guard grumbled something before he started taking Duncan to his cell. Was that sass? Verner wondered why he was so grumpy, was it because he sent him out to get the muzzle earlier? He didn't care much more to keep worrying about it.

Sure the labs had few siblings, but he thought it was determined at random who was gifted and who wasn't, like genetic mutations. He turned to look at Alex, who looked like a rabid dog with the muzzle on. He was violent, but at least he couldn't do as much damage as an electrical or venemous gifted.

Duncan was taken out of the room without any problem apart from the guard's attitude. Once they were gone Lucius got up from his chair and walked across the room to a set of cabnets.

"I don't think it is very safe for anyone to bring him anywhere in the mood he is in." He said as he walked. He opened a cabnet and pulled out a scringe and a bottle. He looked at his papers and found Alex's weight then calculated the correct dose. Once it was all set up he put away the bottle and closed the cabnet.

He walked back to Alex and stood right in front of him. Sadly for Lucius, even though Alex had his arms tied down, his legs weren't. Alex took the chance to get back at him the moment he saw it. He kicked out, his leg straight, and landed it right between Lucius' legs. Lucius' eyes widened in shock and took a few steps backward.

Verner flinched. Ouch. That had to hurt a lot. "I got it," he took the syringe as Lucius looked like he was in pain. "You should probably put some ice on that," that had to be painful. He had learned how to do this in medical school. He approached Alex from the side with the syringe, careful not to make the same mistake Lucius did. Alex didn't seem very happy.

Hopefully he wouldn't struggle too much, he doubted he could though with his arms restrained. He found what looked to be a good vein and injected the needle's contents.

Alex was grinning like a devil under the band around his mouth. He tried to move away from Verner and struggled to make it more difficult for him, but in the end Verner got the medicine in him.

It took about a minute before it started to take an effect on him. He felt tired, dizzy and it seemed like his eye lids were heavy as a ton of bricks. Lucius was really on a roll with making sure all his test subjects returned in a gurney. Alex managed to shoot an angry look at Verner before he finnaly went out, closing his eyes.

Well wasn't Alex just a bundle of joy, he noticed his angry look before he passed out. He was glad he wasn't his test subject, he would hate putting up with him. Verner turned toward the remaining guard, "Could you get a gurney?" He had a tendency to send guard out to get things, rather than doing it himself. The guard left to retrieve a gurney for Alex.

Verner grabbed the chair and rolled it towards Lucius, he looked like he needed it more than he did. That really had to hurt. "It's probably best that you sit down," he offered the chair.

Lucius accepted the chair gratefully. He was a little annoyed that he had managed to get injured by someone who had been tied up in the way Alex was. He was happy the trouble maker was out for the count for a little while.

"Alex is an hand full, isn't he?" Lucius said, jokingly. "Every single time he is like this."

The guard returned with the gurney. He looked a little bothered by having to compete all these tasks. He removed the strapes from Alex's head and removed the restrains from his arms. Without asking, he got Alex onto the gurney. He just assumed that was what the gurney was for.

Lab Rats (Gifted Roleplay)
Setting

All the characters are at a lab in a remote island. All the guards and scientists live in buildings around the lab. Most of the lab is under ground. The lab is very guarded and is pretty much impossable to excape from. There are rooms of about five Gifteds all in their own cell, but they are able to see each other and speak to each other.

Plot

In our world, we expect we all have the same kinds of abilities, we can all do the same things, it all just depends on what you practice. However that believe is wrong, there are people born with strange, fantastic and even dangerous powers known as Gifteds. It doesn't matter if the parents are Gifted, the children produced seem to be randomly Gifted or non-Gifted.

Of course normal people fear the Gifteds, they are stronger than them, more dangerous than them and they have no way of knowing who is who. That's why when people learned of them the hunt for Gifteds started almost immediately.

The caught Gifteds were sent away to a place only known as 'The Labs' where they are experimented on to find their weaknesses and their strengths. Their final goal is to find a way to control them and use them for wars.

History

Rules

Please play as the minority group so we don't get overflowed with one type of character.

Please look at other characters and do not make Gifteds with a power someone already has.

All powers must have weaknesses. For example, most Gifteds will loose control of their ability while under stress.

Only one power for each Gifted.

Both guards and scientists carry weapons, but scientists will only use them if a guard isn't around.
