Linnea watched her student fall. Roselin got to her rider and tried to drag Sophia off somewhere. Thorn and Arget bumped heads trying to lift the girl. Linnea was the one who picked her student up making Roselin growl for a moment. The little red dragon snapped at her human Erbithal. Linnea wasn't scared of a snarling dragon, she knew when to back off but circumstances didn't leave that option. Arget calmed the horse sized dragon down quickly. Then Itachi came up to Linnea with his little partner in tow. "What happened?" "Ask our Erbithal it happened to him, I've only heard the story." Itachi ran off and Linnea checked her student's vitals. Linnea had sobered up by then but she never thought one of her students would be subject to a prophecy. Not like this, especially not sweet Sophie and affectionate Roselin. Linnea was expecting them to take up mediation or even the healing arts. Eragon put a hand on Linnea's shoulder "She'll be fine, Sophia is stronger than you think." "I never doubted her strength or power, it's her nature that has me worried. I pegged her as a mediator or healer." "It may be what the prophecy has in store for her. Go back to the party I'll watch her." Linnea was afraid for her student. She and Arget worried about all of their students past and present. Sophie and Roselin would need a faster education than the others. Linnea however for the moment followed her Erbithal's instruction. Thorn was trying to keep Roselin calm but she was still antsy and clearly upset. "Thorn let me try to calm her down." Thorn was reluctant to leave his daughter in the paws of a dragon who hated him. Linnea spoke calmly to the elder dragon "Thorn Arget only hates you, your daughter though you'll never get him to admit it is one of his favorite students so far. However we try not to play favorites with students." Thorn relaxed a bit at the statement since Linnea had never lied to him or his rider in the past. She'd left her opinions and dislikes out of things but never lied.
Seth woke up a little. He was being carried by someone, Randy or Daniel. He could see and feel Shadow, worried to death. Before Seth blacked out again, he noticed Linnea carrying Sophia away, Roslin, Arget, and Thorn growling over it. When Seth woke up, he was back in his room. Rippleback was licking his right hand that was hanging off the bed. Shadow was lying next to Seth, eyes fixed on him. Seth sat up. A hand touched his right shoulder. "Baby, you need to not strain yourself," said a voice. Seth knew it was Angelica. Angel was sitting next to Rippleback, eyes big and questioning. "What happened to me?" Seth asked. Angelica didn't say. She was staring at him like he was brand new or something. "Angelica!" Seth yelled. Angelica grabbed a mirror and showed Seth his reflection. Seth nearly fainted again. Staring back at him was a teenager, who looked like an elf, but also had some human complex. Seth gasped and touched his face slowly. His ears were pointed. "How?" he asked. "I don't know," said Angelica.
"I'm fine," said Caleb. He walked over to the food table and ate some bread, roast, and corn. Vinezilla sat by him, eating some deer meat. "What do you think the prophecy really means?" Caleb asked him. "I think it means exactly what it just said," said Vinezilla. "Two Riders, a male and a female, who are both elf/human hybrids, destroy or help destroy the Dungeon People and Lizards alongside their dragons, a black male and a red female," said Vinezilla. "And the swords. They use swords of 'Death' and 'Heart' as well," said Caleb. Vinezilla nodded. Caleb finished his food and sat back in his chair. "I do think we will meet those Riders," said Caleb. "Me too," said Vinezilla. Caleb smiled. He sat down next to Vinezilla and rubbed his head. Vinezilla hummed. "So what are we doing after the Blood-oath Celebratio?" asked Vinezilla. "I was thinking of taking Monica and Daisy on a special date," said Caleb. Vinezilla smiled, showing his teeth in a grin. After the celebration was over, they did just that.
Seth looked at Angelica. She was just as surprised as he was. "This is freaky and cool at the same time," said Seth. Shadow laughed. Angelica finally allowed a smile to appear on her face. She then placed the mirror on the stand and sat next to Seth. She touched his left ear. "Its pointy," she said. "And sensitive," said a voice. They all turned to see Randy in the doorway. He was holding Wolfsbayne's Eldunari. "You are blessed with a special and rare gift Seth," thought Wolfsbayne. "So I'm an elf/human hybrid?" Seth asked. Randy nodded. Seth smiled. "Yes!" he exclaimed. "Yes, well I just came to tell you that you are now going to be taught by Eragon himself," said Randy, sadly. Seth and Angelica guffawed. "He is serious hatchlings," thought Wolfsbayne. The two teens stopped laughing. "What? Why?" Seth asked. "Because, your speed and strength has increased ten fold," said Randy. "You could kill me without even knowing it," he said. Angelica looked at Randy and then back at Seth. "Will he train Angelica too?"
"No. Angelica is my student and she doesn't have your abilities," said Randy. Seth was shocked. Angelica looked down, tears about to form in her eyes. "You'll still be able to see each other before and after training," thought Wolfsbayne. Shadow growled and leaped to the floor. He and Angel nuzzled. "I do not want to leave Angel like this," he thought. "I'm sorry Shadow," said Randy. "Eragon my take up Sophia and Roslin," said Randy. "Maybe," thought Wolfsbayne. They then left. Shadow whimpered. Angel comforted him. The two then went on a fly. Angelica wrapped her arms around Seth and pulled him close. She kissed him on the lips. "I'm gonna miss training alongside you," she sobbed. Seth hugged and kissed her back. "Me too," he said. He always loved training with Angelica. She was his girlfriend. The two hugged for a while, Angelica crying softly in Seth's arms. When Shadow and Angel came back, Randy came to get Angelica, saying it was training time. Angelica was reluctant to go. She held on to Seth.
After the date with Monica and Daisy, Caleb and Vinezilla walked them home. Caleb had his right hand on the hilt of his dagger, just in case trouble brewed. When they arrived at Monica's house, Caleb and Monica kissed. "Thank you Caleb," she said. "You're welcome," said Caleb. Vinezilla and Daisy nuzzled. "We better get going," said Caleb. The sun was still in the sky, but it was starting to set. Caleb and Vinezilla had to go visit Caleb's maternal grandmother. Monica smiled and the two hugged. Caleb stroked her red hair. Monica giggled and kissed his cheek. The two then went in the house. Caleb and Vinezilla gave each other a high five and left. When they got home, Seth's mother was tending to her flower garden. A knife was behind her back, held by her belt. "For protection," thought Vinezilla. Caleb and Vinezilla got into the car when Caleb's mother and father came out the house. They got in and drove to Caleb's mom's mother's house. As they arrived, they saw the old woman sitting on her front porch.
"I got her," said Seth. He swept Angelica off her feet and carried her out into the courtyard with ease. Shadow, Angel, and Rippleback followed, heads down. Ghost, Sarah, Aiden, Daniel, and Aro were waiting. Randy climbed onto Ghost's back. Seth stopped in front of Ghost. "Ok babe," said Seth. Angelica got to her feet. She looked at Seth and kissed him again. She then climbed onto Ghost's back. Angel flew into the air. Shadow mewed after her. "We'll be seein' ya' Seth," said Daniel. Ghost, Aiden, and Aro flew off. Angel followed. Angelica waved goodbye. He then noticed Rippleback opening his wings. The little Fanghur flew into the air for the first time. Seth uttered, "Kausta." Rippleback came back to him. "We have to go see our new teachers, or ebrithils now," said Seth. Rippleback nodded. Suddenly, a sapphire dragon roared and appeared in the sky. The three of them looked up. It was Saphira. Eragon was on her back. "Here we go," said Seth. Shadow and Rippleback sat down as the large dragon landed. "Hello."
Caleb and Vinezilla got out the car. "Hey grandma," said Caleb. "Hi baby," said his grandmother. Vinezilla was about to say something when a large, purple female dragon walked from behind the house. "Margeret!" exclaimed Caleb and Vinezilla. The two ran up to the large dragon and hugged her right foreleg. Margeret was as big as three houses. "Hello little ones," she thought. Vinezilla flew up to her snout. "You can fly!" she exclaimed. Caleb laughed. He then ran up on the porch and hugged his grandmother. Her gedwey ignasia was on her right hand. "How have you been young man?" she asked. "Good," said Caleb. Caleb's parents went inside with Caleb's grandmother. Caleb stayed outside with Vinezilla and Margeret. "You're enormous," said Caleb. "Eating the right things gets a dragon into great heights," said the dragon. Vinezilla laughed. Margeret had her saddle on. Caleb climbed onto her back, which took about two minutes or less. He then held on as Margeret flew into the air, or leaped. Vinezilla followed.
Eragon slid down Saphira's left foreleg. Saphira was huge. She reminded Seth of how large Margeret was, Caleb's grandmother's bonded dragon. Seth bowed, as did Shadow and even Rippleback, as the two strode forward. "Oh please, stand up McClain," said Eragon. Seth stood straight up. "You two as well hatchlings," thought Saphira. "Relax Seth. You are among friends," said Eragon. "Yes Eragon-elda," said Seth. "I am to be called master or ebrithil," said Eragon. "Saphira as well," he said. "Yes master," said Seth and Shadow. "Shall we head to my old house?" Eragon asked. "Yes master," said Seth. Eragon nodded and Saphira crouched. Seth watched as Eragon bounded up Saphira's left forleg and sat down in the saddle. Seth was about to when Saphira suddenly leaped into the air. "I want to test your speed and stamina," called Eragon. "All three of you!" he exclaimed. Saphira flew off, roaring. Shadow and Rippleback flew after her. Seth sighed and ran forward. He was surprised at how fast he got to the forest.
Caleb could feel the wind in his hair. He was used to riding a dragon. Caleb would always go on flies with his uncle and grandmother. That's why he couldn't wait to ride Vinezilla. As they flew, an airplane appeared ahead of them. "Let's have a little fun," thought Margeret. The purple dragon flew towards the plane. As she flew over it, she casted a nice, big shadow over the plane. She then flew back and flew under the plane. Caleb reached up and touched the belly of the plane. They then flew side by side with plane. The piolets and passengers were stunned and excited. Vinezilla grabbed a hold of the wing and smiled. Caleb waved and Margeret roared. She then flew downwards. Vinezilla followed, waving goodbye. As they dove, Caleb yelled, "Whoo-hoo!" Vinezilla and Margeret laughed. Margeret then sent a torrent of violet flames into the air. Caleb laughed. Vinezilla shrieked with joy. This was fun! Caleb loved dragons. He couldn't wait for the month to be over. He would ride like the wind and wield a sword.
As Seth ran, he noticed that Saphira was only a few feet ahead of him in the air. Shadow was right behind her, with Rippleback on his tail. Seth looked ahead and saw that they were heading to Ellesmera. When they passed through the forest, Saphira, Shadow, and Rippleback landed. Seth was right behind them. Eragon smiled. "Your speed and stamina is incredible," he said. "Thank you master," said Seth. They walked until they saw Gildernein the Wise. He let them through. When they got in Ellesmera, Seth was amazed to see all the elves calm and going about their own way. Some stopped to bow and say, "Arget" or "Shur'tugal". "Do they still call you Shadeslayer?" Seth asked. An elf came up to Eragon. "Shadeslayer," he said. Eragon nodded at the elf. He looked at Seth. "Yes they do," he said. They arrived at an open field. A big hill was on it. "Now we fly towards my home, but let's see what Arya and Firnen are doing," said Eragon as a green dragon the size of Saphira flew towards them. He was only a foot smaller.
As they dove, birds scattered. Vinezilla caught himself a morning dove and ate it. Margeret just ate an entire flock of canadian geese. Margeret landed on an open field. Deer grazing bolted away. Vinezilla was tempted to chase them, but forgot about it. The three of them sat watching the sun. Suddenly, they saw a few Fanghur. The three were flying out of the trees. "Shield your minds," said Caleb. He shielded his. Vinezilla did as well, growling. Margeret didn't. "I am a full grown dragon," she thought. "I could them with my mind in one blow," she thought. The Fanghur saw them and flew towards them. Caleb kept his mind shielded. He drew his dagger. Margeret roared. Caleb had to cover his ears a bit. Vinezilla shrieked at the oncomiing Fanghur. Margeret thought, "Taste this!" A torrent of violet flames erupted from her maw. The flames stretched for at least a mile or so away. Two of the Fanghur got scared and flew away. The third wasn't so lucky. The flames bathed him in purple heat. The Fanghur died quickly.
Firnen landed. Arya ran down the dragon's right foreleg. "Good evening Eragon, Seth," she said. Eragon and Seth bowed to her a bit. Shadow and Rippleback bowed as well. "And who might this little one be?" Firnen asked. His voice was deeper that Ghost, Wolfsbayne, Thorn, Arget, Aro, and Aiden. "This is Rippleback," thought Shadow. "We rescued his egg and now he is a member of our trio," thought Shadow. Arya smiled, as did Eragon. "So, are you taking him up on the Crags of Tel'naeir?" Arya asked. "I must," said Eragon. "That is where I was trained, and that is where these three and Sophia and Roslin will be trained, if Linnea decidess to send her over," said Eragon. After talking, Seth climbed onto Firnen's back with Arya. Eragon climbed onto Saphira's back. To Seth, Arya looked like she was at least forty years old. This amazed Seth. Before they flew off, Arya said, "Hold on to me so you won't fall." Seth wrapped his arms around her waiste before Firnen leaped into the air with Saphira, Shadow, and Rippleback.
Linnea decided to have Sophia and Roselin make the call to go with Eragon or stay with her. Thorn wanted to pull a parental and send them to the 'stronger' rider for training. Arget had argued it was his and Linnea's call. Itachi who'd been handed over to Murtugh had suggested that Sophia and Roselin made the decision. Linnea actually agreed with the new rider. Vanier and Garvolz wanted to go in the Sophia's place had started arguing about it with Hivarda. The dragons were staying out of it this time. Sophia started rubbing behind Roselin's horns, Linnea knew the pressure to decide something this big was getting to her. Murtugh honestly had expected Linnea to make the call and coddle Sophia. "Hivarda, Garvolz, Vanier that's enough arguing for now." Linnea knew the three would argue about something else before they headed back to Farthen Dur. The three ninja were being real quiet and watching with their dragons in their arms. Naruto's blue eyed golden scaled rascal had feathers hanging out of his mouth in a comical fashion. "Sophie Rose you know what sleep on it. Some decisions need a night's rest before being decided." Sauske's partner was looking around at everyone with his unusual red eyes. Strangely enough Sakura's usually vocal dragon was quiet too. There were post celebration parties still going on and Linnea's students wandered off to join the parties except for Sophia and Roselin who wandered off to be alone and think hard. Murtugh and the dragons had left but Itachi was alone with Linnea again. He asked Linnea to heal his eyes quietly. Linnea did as she was asked and Itachi leaned down and kissed her cheek softly. Linnea's last lover had died in a magic accident over fifty years ago. He hadn't been a rider though. Linnea wasn't sure how to respond so she just lived in the moment then and there.
Caleb watched the Fanghur fall to the ground. "Let's go before anymore trouble comes," said Caleb. Margeret nodded and stood up. Caleb sheathed his dagger and held on to Margeret's saddle. Margeret and and Vinezilla flew into thhe air. As they flew, Caleb was enjoying the view. When they got back to Caleb's grandmother's house, Caleb and Vinezilla went inside. They had a drink of water and then went back outside. Later, they all went back home. At home, Caleb sat in his room and read a book. Vinezilla watched TV. "When I get my sword and you learn to breathe fire, we're gonna be one heck of a team," said Caleb. Vinezilla nodded. "I bet my fire is going to melt anything in my path," said Vinezilla. Caleb chuckled. The two then went out in the backyard and played some ball.
