Sarah heard the entire situation and when it was done she said "That woman sounded suspicious." She also said "The government is more concerned with protecting itself and regaining control. Leaving scattered weak bands of survivors might accomplish that by keeping us from banding together in a large enough group to oppose them on any possible issue..." Sarah got back to her makeshift group and found something out. Those kids knew the bible by heart despite not being able to read anything else. That sounded like her religious zealot brother... Sarah was disgusted that these kids had been taught the bible over any useful skills including basic survival. It was luck and pure instinct that had kept him alive that long...
"The goverment.." arran couldn't help but laugh hearing the word "Didn't think there was even such a thing anymore." he said looking at the radio, whoever this lady was offering shelter he didn't trust her either, and he wasn't going anywhere, not for the moment anyway. Maybe she was telling the truth and they had somewhere actualy safe, or maybe they were just trying to lure unsuspecting survivors in to keep as slaves like that other group was doing or..god knows what else.

Sarah actually got bowls for Arran and Liz offering them some soup. Brian seemed jealous but Sarah said "What? For some weird reason I think I have to look after these two to a certain extent." Sarah started seeing what else the two children already knew. Apparently Sophie had been taught she was to be submissive to her future husband. Sarah had to fix that... The Sister would no doubt be able to help teach these kids. In fact Sarah got the nun and explained the situation to her. The older shape shifter got to work over dinner and was actually helping a great deal. Sarah made it clear that if the kids wanted to be catholics they could be catholics heck she didn't care if they became Satan worshippers.

Sarah believed that children should be able to decide their own faith not have it dictated by their guardians. Sarah would support their faiths so long as they behaved in a manner that was socially acceptable. She however would possibly influence them as egalitarians believing regardless of faith all people were worthy of certain common rights and to be shown a certain amount of respect and all people were to be held accountable by some common rules.

Arran thanked Sarah then so did Liz before they began to eat. Arran was still staring at the radio, he couldn't help it. He wondered just how many people were still alive out there. He had heard about entire towns and cities being overrun..little to no survivors. So many people dieing and coming back to feast on the living, familys being torn apart (sometimes litteraly)..the whole world pretty much going to hell. He remembered the begining, the initial panick once people started to figure out what was going on, the reports on the news of people being attacked and bitten, dieing only to come back as a zombie and infecting more people..

Sarah remembered how it all had started and that her parents had tried to join a catholic commune but they were not accepted because they hadn't had enough children to qualify as good. Sarah had run off to her grandparents having just graduated college and she decided to just go and live with them. She'd stayed with them until the end. Then she'd left. Sarah had survived and made it this far. Then all these more recent events. Sarah sat and ate her soup. She finished her meal and waited for everyone to finish so she could wash up. Sarah stayed silent for all of this deep in thought...
Arran finnished eating and stood up, stretching a bit before looking around "Hmm.." he decided to go for a little walk around. Not quite outside of the area, he'd stick close to the camp but he just wanted to stretch his legs and get a look at his surroundings. He left his backpack and stuff down where he was sitting before starting to wander around
Arran went back and grabbed his stuff. He wanted to go a bit further out and wanted to have a look around. As he walked he looked around at the cars scattered around..some with people still trapped inside..having tried to evacuate when this all started..they obviously didn't get very far. He gripped his crosbow as he walked and made sure he still had his knife. Hoping he wouldn't need to use them but just in case. He didn't want to be out long he just needed to get a walk in. He could hear zombies but for the moment they were still far off.
Shallow breaths. The stench of dead flesh and infection still clung to her, like it was in her skin. She was running, hoping the things couldn't hear her. Zeliah made sure her feet only touched the grime-soaked concrete as she sprinted, knowing her way around each corner and intersection of the underground system as if a map had been sewn into the inside of her skull's cavity. Tears had begun to stream down her face, dripping dirt in rivulets down her cheeks. No. Not now. She tried to focus on the slight billowing of her ragged clothes as wind stroked over her body, the feeling of blood pumping through her muscles. I will not accept that I've just killed my brother. I will not accept that I am alone now. I definitley won't accept the fact I'll probably become like him and "die" too. She dared not to think about the bite on her hand, nor the battered pipe smeared with Eli's brains that she left next to his corpse further back in the system.
When he was alive, they had talked of going back to the surface. After many years sheltered below, they were becoming weak. Trips to the surface were not enough. There was never enough time to simply enjoy what it feels like to be somewhere that was alive. Sure, the flesh hungry monsters weren't that nice, but neither was living a life secluded in dark, damp and cold conditions. She didn't even remember what a green leaf off a living tree felt like.
But now she was going back. For good. The tunnels are only a painful reminder of time and a brother lost. Zeliah would have to somehow make a living off the land above. If I don't fall prey to the infection first.
She stopped. Head turned up, she observed a manhole grate and bar ladder running up the slimy wall beside her. It looked a lot more... calm from the last time she saw it. That was five days ago, when she was helping Eli down from a surface run to care for his leg wound, which she now knew had come from one of the undead.
She anxiously shifted her feet. One... one last night here. I can't leave just yet.
Arran continued to wander around untill he found a abbandoned military transport..it looked like some sort of troop carrier..maybe it had been used to try and evacuate civilians back when this all started..looked like it didn't get very far. There were bodies everywhere, some in military uniform, some in civilian clothing..it made him sick to think of how many people had been killed over the years..how many people could possibly be left? Would the world ever get back to normal? So many questions always running through his head..he searched the truck and climbed into the back, finding several crates stacked up in the back along with more bodies. He carefully approached one of the crates and opened it when he heard a beeping sound from inside and found a explosive device still rigged to blow inside of the otherwise empty crate. Arran moved as fast as he could out of the truck and tried to get to a safe distance before the truck exploded behind him. Booby trap? he thought to himself "Who the f--- would set a trap like that and why?" Arran looked around, realising the explosion would likely bring zombies from all around. He needed to get out of there fast.
Zeliah sat under the manhole, observing her handiwork. She had tied down Eli's body onto a makeshift raft, created from the supplies left in their hideout that she couldn't take with her. It lay in front of her, no, he lay in front of her. She would prefer to remember him as a man, not a changed creature whom had tried to consume her. And almost succeeded.
Finally, after building up her strength, she stood up and whispered her last goodbyes to him. She then struck a match and flung it onto the heap. Swiftly, Zeliah nudged the raft into the sewer stream as the traces of gasoline she had trickled onto his body burst alight. For a while, she stood, simply watching his burning body float downstream. At least now I can be sure that he's dead.
After he had gone out of sight, she was still afraid to move to the surface. She realised she had no experience whatsoever. All her anxieties festered inside her until- BLAM!- An explosion above her head blew the manhole cover through the opening. Time to leave- She thought as an undead came running from the tunnel in the opposite direction. Vibrations travelled quickly underground, and close to the surface were a lot more infected than in the lower system.
Zeliah scrambled up the rusty ladder, kicking in each bar as she climbed to ensure the undead below her stayed below.
Once she broke the surface world, it was an explosion of light and colour. It was ugly, dead. There must have been dozens of bodies surrounding the blast site- which she discovered to be a blackened heap of metal- and it certainly smelt like it. The sun burned high in the sky, so intense she had to shade her eyes with her hands.
Then she spotted him. A man standing a few feet away.
"HEY!" She waved with one hand. "I'm alive! Please, help me!"
Arran turned quickly hearing the voice and seeing the girl with a large group of zombies behind her "Son of a.." he wasn't just going to leave her so he grabbed his crossbow and  ran back toward her, taking aim and quickly downing one zombie while loading another bolt as fast as he could and taking out another "Go, run!" he ordered the other survivor, reloading again and taking out a third zombie before running to follow her. They had to lose the horde before they went back to the shapeshifters camp. He didn't know how but he wasn't going to lead them back there.
Sarah caught wind of the horde as did the other shapeshifters. Sarah took fox form and stepped where Arran could see her easily. She'd take them down trails of difficult terrain that would trip up the horde. Dragon was with her and ready to help if they tripped. Sarah indicated to them to follow her and they'd lead the horde down terrain they couldn't handle but shapeshifters could. She started ducking and weaving through trees with a path a human could follow but not an undead. She had to mind broken glass however as she led the way to the forest where the undead could be thrown off the scent...
Arran followed close behind Sarah as they tried to lose the horde, checking back to make sure the other survivor was still with them. He thought back to the truck he had found "Someone booby trapped that truck...they set a explosive in a weapons crate to blow when someone opened it..I don't..understand why they would do that."

Aftermath (Zombie appocalypse survival RP)
Setting

The year is 2026. Abbandoned cities and towns, some having been bombed by the military when things started. Sewers and underground tunnels and shelters and other areas.

Plot

You're one of the few survivors of a outbreak that killed most human life on Earth. Its been 12 years since it happend, and some have tried to rebuild the lives they once had before the outbreak, but have failed horribly. Cities and towns are left abbandoned, the military almost non-existant aside from a few outposts and bases scattered around the world. Few remaining scientists continue to try and find a cure to the disease, but all attempts have failed. The problem is that whatever it is, when it kills you, you don't stay dead. The virus turns you into a mindless monster, only wanting to feast on human flesh (And these aren't the slow zombies you usualy see either. These are the fast ones. Really fast). You must find survivors (Other players included), find shelter, find weapons, do whatever you can to survive.

History

With all the dinosaur related RP's I've started here, wanted to do something a bit different so..here we are.

Rules

*No killing other players unless they allow it.

*Don't get too graphic in killing the zombies. Or other people (Not exactly players unless..well refer to the first rule for this, but other survivors your character might meet)

*Just a note on the "Shapeshifter" species I added. This was something that came along after the initial outbreak happend. Years after everything went down, some survivors developed this ability for unknown reasons. One theory from scientists being the virus has a strange effect on some people. Not quite turning them into zombies but mutating them and giving them certain abilities in other ways.
