Skye was running to catch up when she saw the glow and froze. "Oak... I can't go close to lava..." She knew her scales would crack painfully if she did, Kokuyoseki's fur was too thick he'd over heat but Taiyo's short coat would be fine. Besides she was a fire kitsune heat gave her power. Skye watched Taiyo catch up to Oak shaking her head. "Oak you can't keep leaving Taiyo behind. If she get lost it'll take a long time to find her again..." Taiyo saw the lava and said "I could swim if it wasn't so thick." Kokuyoseki rolled his eyes "And you hate water... So you can swim in lava I swim in water just fine..."

Miidnight didn't dare move. Something wasn't right, something was off. Then she heard what her body had sensed, scales slithering across the stone. She saw a glimps of s shadow behind Oak, and her body reacted. Midight threw herself forward, slaming into Oak just as a large snake struck and wrapped it coiles around her. It turned to look at her. Don't look into its eyes! karma warned and midnight slamed her eyes shut. Her body shuddered. She could feel the evil raidiateing off this thing, so much that it needed to pat for, so much that midnight was powerless.

 

Lightning huffed. "Is that a good thing or a bad thing?"

Skye joined her sister despite the heat, the shadows whispering "it's a basilisk, a creature of shadows but it will not heed you. Ice will make it beg for mercy. They only obey what they fear. Be careful if you meet it's gaze before it yeilds you will die." Skye started conjuring the same unmelting ice her sister had before and the snake saw the glint of the ice before it was ensnared in ice hissing in panic. Skye moved it further back from the fire while the reptile had gone mostly slack staring at her in terror. Kokuyoseki was following Skye avoiding looking at the snake. "Skye you sure this is a good idea? Okaa san told me about these things a rooster or a weasle would be better at killing it." Skye nodded "Shadows told me these things are scared of ice though." The snake actually spoke "Hatchling what do you plan to do with me? Sssurely you won't kill me otherwisse you'd have done it by now." Skye spoke to the snake in a civil tone "I want to know why you were trying to kill my brother in the attempt grabbing my sister, your kind can't eat dragons or foxes for that matter." Skye ajusted her ice and started trying to mend the cracks in her scales waiting for an answer.

Celestia replied still walking off "Here and now good but there are more than one rouge still in the area, two more I think. You'd best be careful untill my family deals with them unless you plan to help. Might impress a few females with a rouge hunting reputation. Sure worked for my brother before he took up the nomadic thing. My sister and I had to chase his stalkers off." She started laughing "By the way I doubt Whitefire and you would have gotten together even if Coal weren't around. That's none of my business though. She's just not your type. Look around the one you're looking for could be anywhere, just not myself or Whitefire I know that much. I might start a healing and teaching thing a shadow life neutral one. I've got the qualifications. Just leave the war outside the establishment and try to get along..."

The Basilisk replied in a shocking answer. "Why, little yang, you sssshould know why." It hissed. "I am not your enemy, I wassss sent by yang to dissstroy her enemy, yin. I wasss sent to get rid of your brother, and the ssshadows should tell you that, sssince they are apart of yin assss well."

These words horrified Midnight. She was frozen to the spot. She had worried that yin and yang would try to turn her brother an sister against each other, but sending assassins? Midnight seethed with anger. How could the twins turn on each other like this? She just couldn't fathom it.

Skye narrowed her eyes that were glowing an unearthly shade of blue and her voice sounded like many all speaking in unison "I sent no such orders, nor did my earthly form. You were fooled. I know that this world needs this form's siblings and who they embody. Forces seek to turn us against one another. I am water I am life, and I am death. Yin my brother gives stregnth to life and keeps it stable enough to survive I am frail but adaptable, my earthly body is the same. Now go and warn the other night and dark creatures of the forces against my brother and that my siblings and our companions are not on the menu." The basilisk nodded and as soon as the ice left darted into the darkness spreading the will of Yang. Skye's eyes stopped glowing and she blacked out. Her sister's vision flashed in her mind where it had left off. Yang looked at Yin and let out a sob realizing what she'd done. Darkness, water, air, electricity, and a strange light swirled around her and then the light and water flowed onto Yin healing the wounds. When Yin stood they both looked at Skye and Yang took one step closer to Skye. "Little one those against me will try to control him to fight, and those against him will try to use me. You are me and your brother is him don't let it happen. Listen to your sister and follow her, don't listen to anyone who tells you to harm your kin or companions... We will speak again at the winter solstice Skye. Yang will speak with Oak tonight the summer solstice. Untill we speak again breezeling..." Skye jolted up bonking heads with Kokoyoseki accidentally. "Ow..." "Sorry Kokoyoseki." "It's ok..."

Oak blinked a few times and shouted (of course, it was a normal volume for him; he didn't even notice he was shouting) "Well, lets carry on, shall we?  Oh, and about not being able to go near lava: You'll be fine!  Just don't touch it." And he took off, soon realizing that the kitsune kits couldn't follow.  He doubled back, but did it tather sloppily, going into a corkscrew and crashing into the cavern wall, right above the others and the tunnel.  Then, he stood up, once again as is nothing happened, and eyed the kitsunes, shouting "how can we get you guys down there?" 

Skye shook her head "Oak my scales crack when it's really hot and I did go too close just now..." She gestured to her tail the scales had deep cracks and some were bleeding. Skye looked at the unmelting ice for a moment before trying to coat herself, Kokuyoseki, and Tsuki in thick frost. Skye walked forward slowly without pain but it was draining her to keep it up. She ran back and let the ice melt panting. Skye fell over onto her side and said "can we sleep for a little while. My weird pass out has me worn out..." Kokuyoseki looked at Skye and sat down next to her. Skye was half asleep and wanted to be entirely asleep. Something told her that they were safe underground and could camp there without problem...

Midnight felt woozzy from the basalisk. She knew very good and well that it wouldn't tell a soul. She had seen and felt its thought, fears, and everything else and she knew something a scared it into attackig them, because the Basalisk was a servent of yang, therefor, Yang weas the Basalisk, and Yin the Phionex. Whatever had turned that basalisk against its sacred master, Midnight knew she would  eventually have to face.

"Oak, lets sleep for what I assum to be night. It was twilight when we went up. And there are somethings i need to tell you guys." she said ina daze.  

"Uggh" Oak groaned, now pacing in circles around the group.  "You do know I've barely slept at all in the last few days," he shouted, still unnaware of his volume, "What makes you think I can lay down now!?!  I"m more hyperactive than I've ever been, hyperactive even for me!" Oak wasn't stupid.  He was aware of his hyperactivity, but he certainly couldn't control it.  Suddenly, something happened.  The lava exploded in a small area, sending lava flying everywhere for a small radius, and the small waves resulting from that lapped the rocky shore of the cavern.  Instantly, the knowledge hit his brain like a bullet gaseous bubbles, a side effect to volcanism. When Oak just stood there for a second, blinking, the voice shouted even louder: What are you doing!?!  Get out of there!!!  Why do I get the nuts!?! Oak took the insult in stride, and decided it was in his best interest to get out of there, and come back in when the lava seemed calm.

Skye lifted her head up looking at her sister. "What's up sis?" Kokuyoseki's ear rotated to face Midnight showing he was listening. Skye was still thinking about the dream but she'd pay her full attention to her sister. Midnight was going to say something important she knew it.

Celestia and Heisei's healing thing was doing great. Heck shadow dragons had swallowed their pride to ask for the pair's help. Celestia wonderedif she'd ever see her chicks, or Heisei's chicks again. Celestia also wondered if Coal, Whitefire, Malvada, Xevus, or Lightning would come by. Heisei was still trying to show Celestia human form it'd make medical work easier, and help with the empty nest blues problem she was having... 

Midnight saw, felt, and heard the volcanic explosion, and she leapt back, with her back in a arch she looked like a scaley cat that had been spooked out of its skin. "WHAT IN THE NAME OF YIN, YANG, AMD KARMA WAS THAT?!!!???!?!?" she screame at oak who had come runing out of the blue with lava erupting behind him. She hit the wall just in time to aviod a lava blob that fell right where she was. "I'll tell you later, right now lets NOT get melted me molten hot lava rock! She tuned on heel and ran a good ways from the lava. Whereshe thought it was safe.

 

At the moment, Xevius was treading through the forest, about half a mile east of Celestia.  He had an important calculation to share, and he would tell it to the first dragon he encountered.  This was information that all should know, as it could mean the end of life, or at least the end of life as he knew it.  Xevius wasn't sure, but he thought that not even the tiniest and sturdiest of lifeforms could survive in either one, eternal cold, or infernal heat.  Now, Xevius's nose was not the strongest of noses, so he couldn't actually pick up Celestia's scent though she was so close.  Xevius didn't really think he'd find anyone, but he wanted to make a decent search, so that his conscience would calm down, with the knowledge that at least he'd tried.  Xevius really just wanted to get back into the tunnels before he ran into some fire ants.

Oak, however, was running for his life.  He wne past Midnight, much past, as volcanics are not to be trusted.  He learned that through the volcanic voice, the snarky and mean one.  Must be the lava equivalent of the "shadows" Skye was always telling everyone about.  Maybe it was just Light itself, and that inhabited lava.  At the moment Oak didn't care, because a small drop of lava had just landed on his back, creating a horrible burning sensation.  It was dulled a bit, though.  Oak expected it to be a bit more painful, what with the molten-ness of the rock.  He didn't really know the tempurature, but if water was molten ice, and it was still cold, molten rock must be extremely hot.  It was a bit of a let-down, really. 

Skye tried to get her siblings and the foxes up hill, shadows in their silk smooth whisper had told her get up hill. She went to an upper tunnel and found a spring tha had chunks of ice floating in it and three glowing items deep down a dark rainbow glowing. Kokuyoseki noticed it too. "Hey Skye what's that down there?" "No idea but only one way to find out." Skye dove in the cold soothing her scales. Three amulets on chains one the colors of shadows water and ice, the next fire earth and light, the third had a rainbow. "Wonder what these things are?" "Dunno some sort of amulets..."

Celestia heard a faint rumble but figured it was a tunnel collapsing, with the prophacy her chicks were not there. She could smell Xevus and Lightning. Lightning was kind of far off. Lightning was just upwind. She went to Xevus "Ok small fry what do you want?"

Midnight collapsed on the floor and began spazing. her eyes became unfocused and she became un responsive...

 

Midnight was in a dark place, darker a colder that the darkest, coldest place within the darkes coldest place ever o exsist. A voice fro the darkness whispered around her...

ive up young dragon, you are no match for me, you can not face me, and you cannot harm me....

Who are you? midnight thought bac bravely.

I am change, I am death, I am evil and cold. I am chaos.

The voice echoed in her head as midnight jerked awake, clawing her concerned brother on the nose.

A large mountainous range with scattered lakes, and underground tunnel system, dense forests, and barren mountain tops.

You are allowed a maximum of 5 dragons and 1 other creature, and you MUST keep up with them. The creature must be either mythical or a present day animal with special powers. You may have eggs but you can only have as many as you can control OR give them to other players. Keep it PG-13 please.

You are a western dragon in a time of war. The life dragons and shadow dragons fight for the earth. The shadow dragons wish to rule the earth by power and fear, while the Life dragons wish to live in harmony with earth's creatures.

Whitefire and Coal lead the Life dragons. Lightning leads the Shadow dragons. Coal and Lightning are archenemys.

Now, a new hope has sprung up. Chaos is now the problem, and has been turning everyone against each other. Three were born, the embodyments of yin, yang, and karam are now the only thing that stand between chaos. but chaos has begun to hunt them down, to keep things under his controll
