Mentor stirred to the commotion which seemed to come for everywhere. The roaring, and screeming balanced off the walls of the cavern. There was a deafening crash as if the earth itself opened and began swallowing everything. Darkness and shadow were at its thickest.

"What have I done?" Tharonyx eagerly questioned her massive friend.

"This is not of your doing, but I fear we are soon to be a part of it." Mentor remarked.

"You saw this?" Tharonyx continued.

"Yes, but the outcome will not stop what has to be done." Mentor stood close to Tharonyx at the exact moment a piece of the cave roof fell. Mentor shielded Tharonyx by taking the strike directly. Tharonyx couldn't help but hear the breaking of bone and the muffled grown of pain.

"The Crystal Bridge?" Tharonyx looked to Mentor.

"The shadows are swarming, gather the others, we mustn't get caught here in the caves." Mentor dictated. "Ironically, to make our escape we've got to descend, deeper , where the world forever burns."

Fern clung onto Galaxy's head for dear life as the allosaur carried her to the back of the cave to the other herbivores. Even though Galaxy was a small allosaur, she was still way larger and taller than any Fabrosaurus, of course. It made Fern nervous, being so many feet from the ground...

Just then she heard a small voice echoe in the dark cavern. "Fern! The shadows are coming... And the "Chosen One" seems to have her... her... well whatever full. We need to descend to the depths of this world... your healing gifts will be greatly needed if we are to survive this."

What?! thought Fern.

"Was that one of the herbivores in the back of the cave, Galaxy," she asked the Allosaur, "or was I just hearing things?"

"You were not just hearing things," said the voice, making Fern nearly jump out of her skin and fall off Galaxy's head - fortunately she didn't fall off.

Mentor slowly inched his way blindly down through the caverns. The sounds of near panicking dinos wasdeafening. Out of nowhere amidst the confusion, Mentor was body struck multiple times but he kept to his course. Moving in an almost dreamlike state, his thoughts leading him in other directions, other times...happier times...times spent with his herd before the skyfall...before this curse...

"What do you see, Tharonyx?" Mentor voiced to his companion holding on to his brow horns.

Tharonyx glanced back, "Nothing yet...where are we heading? The Crystal Bridge?"

Mentor did not answer.

"Shouldn't you have one of the healers tend you? I don't want to see you die...I'd be lost." Tharonyx bleated.

Along the cavernous walls, illuminated by what light existed the shadowy shapes of numerous creatures began to appear, a bizarre, twisting of forms. Raptors, all, but without any detail...just silhouette...and blazing eyes and fiery maws.

 

Guan whimpered. The caves scared him. He felt like he had been ignored most of the trip, but it didn't matter. He was on an adventure! That was exciting. But there was something ominous about everything. He couldn't tell, but he felt that something was wrong. His skin felt tingly, and not in the good way when he transformed. This was bone-deep, and it came from his soul. Something was close. He looked at Mentor, who seemed a little spaced-out. It was really dark behind them, and Guan could have sworn there was a warm breeze floating from below...

Shinu was gone. She had left. Deathgaurd had gone with her. He felt so alone. All of his closer friends out of the group were leaving. He looked to Mentor, and blurted, "I'm scared! Shinu and Deathgaurd and some of the others left and now I don't really have anyone I know anymore!"

At first, in the lovely and varied ancient continent of the dinosaurs, to after the apocalypse: a bleak and barren world, where the sky is dark with smog and the only thing that lights the night is the distant eruptions and wildfires.

Everyone knows the Meteor theory of how the dinosaurs died. This is set from just before to a while after. The Chosen are the few dinosaurs who survive the apocalypse, wielding their elemental powers to rebuild the world. The Chosen One will rise from The Chosen to be the one to wield all the elements. So says a prophecy older than the dinosaurs, scrawled on the walls of Crystal Cave--a cave high in the mountains, made purely of diamonds.

The elements:

Groundshaker--causes earthquakes at will, and can mold stone and dirt into any shape: pillars for protection, and even a house if they develop their powers. 0/2

Oceanweaver--uses the power of the ocean, and can perform the Water Cloak. That's where they enclose themselves and their friends is a whirling bubble of water. 0/2

Firebreather--wields the element of fire. Fire Shield (like Water Cloak, but with fire), Fire Blast, and Fire Breath. Fire Blast: summons fire in a large blast on the target. Fire Breath: Breathes fire upon target. 1/2

GrassWhistler--can manipulate the plants to do his/her will. Even can trap foes in a tree! 0/2

SpaceBender--manipulates space. When he/she does so, they typically warp an enemy or their friends and themselves. They can even put a space bubble around something, or slash through space and a foe, effectively killing the target. It's a very powerful role. 2/2

TimeWeaver--manipulates time. Can travel in time and see all the possible outcomes of something happening. Often seems very wise. 1/2

Crystal Master-- grows crystals imbued with special powers, such as the power to heal, poision, or simply wound. Crystals are sharp when broken. 1/2

ShadowDancer--manipulates the darkness. Can also cast illusions and play with people's minds. Stronger after the apocalypse. 2/2

Lightning Tamer--uses the power of lightningbolts to deal out damage. Can generate and electric field around themselves and their friends 0/2

CloudChaser--master of the atmosphere, can drain all the oxygen out of a room and control the weather. 0/2

Transformer--not an element. Guanlong-specific. Transforms into a mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex! 1/2

LightWielder--uses the power of light to blind foes, heal wounds, and make everyone happy. Stronger before the apocalypse. 1/2

The Chosen One--utelizes all the elements, but usually uses only one, like if the Chosen One was the Lightning Tamer, then they usually use electricity. NOT A CHOICE FOR CHARACTER! 0/1

You can still have names, but the title must become part of the name (on the form, you can write 'Darkness the ShadowDancer', not just 'Darkness'. Or, you could put 'ShadowDancer' in the character summary, i suppose...)

 

 

PLEASE DO NOTE that these dinosaurs are supposed to be very very special. I am limiting the amount of each to two. However, the abilities can be hereditary but must come from only one side of the family.

Some of the dinosaurs don't get along. Obviously, carnivores and herbivores don't like each other, and Tyrannosaurus Rexes are loner types--hostile and cold. The herbivores are gentle-natured, and omnivores are the mediators.

No serious gore, and keep it PG-PG13. No hogging the spotlight, and try to get along. I understand not everyone can be best friends, but still. If you have any problems, PM me.

Also, only control your character. I know the word limit is sometimes hard to meet, but please. People don't like that.

Plus, there is a posting order now that I've gotten left out a whole lot. Follow it as best you can!
