"if that is what you wish" Mentor replied. "I would love the company, it is lonely and the world outside is ruined."

"Hey, what about me?" Tharonyx ranted. "You've been dragging me about ever since the skyfall...and it hasn't been an enjoyable journey by any stetch of the imagination."

"Shinu, you are not one of us, you have come from a remote time, well before this skyfall...yes, there have been many others, but I 'see' too that you care deeply, and you too seek something...but that is your adventure...the Crystal Bridge is mine. Our fates seem to have converged. As so has those of the others. Our skills and "Gifts" will see us through, but there is one thing that only you can give Shinu..." Mentor turned to Galaxy, his eyes blind but gleeming. "...Hope."

Shinu then said. " If the Guan wishes to go then I will go." Shinu then jumped down. " I controle the darknes, and Deathguard controles fire." Shinu hummed. "But I fell it in my duty to protect the ones who I can call friends." Shinu said. Deathguard then said. " Shall I let the others know we are going with?" Shinu then wiped her tail in the air and Deathguard nodded and whent to the entrance of the cave. He then roared louder than before. He did that twice, then a roar from across the vally came ecoing. " They will meet us at the dawnspark shinu." Deathguard said. Shinu nodded her head. She then ran twords a burnt tree, and with one swipe of her tail, broke it. She then draged it tword Deathguard and pulled out a large vine from a rock outside. She then put food on the broken tree then wraped the vine around it and then Deathguard picked it up and carryed it with ease. Shinu then said. " If you want, meet us at the dawnspark or follow us." Shinu said as her and those who were in the small surviver groop of her's, started to walk twords a canyon like area.
Guan bounded after Shinu. "C'mon, everybody!! Let's GO!" He was so excited to be surrounded by friends again and to be on an adventure.  He leaped forward, feet soaring high above the ground as he transformed. His giant T-Rex self practically caused an earthquake as it landed. He turned back, wagging his tail, and roared. His voice carried far and wide, echoeing off of the walls. He listened to his own echo, standing like a tree for a moment, the bounced over to DeathGaurd. "Wasn't I loud?" He rumbled, bouncing eagerly from foot to foot, as if he couldn't contain himself.

Sometimes I wonder if I'd been better off staying inside that cave...

Titus trudged silently over the barren landscape, his pale blue eyes squinting as he scanned the distant horizon. Even that seemed nondescript these days. The land was blackened, and so was the sky-- it was almost as though there were hardly any differences between the land and sky. The rock from space had thrown everything out of balance, destroying so many familiar landmarks that the old Ankylosaur could barely navigate. Even the soil wasn't the same as it used to be.

Were his tribe still living, they might've wept.

Pausing at a small, squat bit of scrub, Titus lowered his head and snuffled at it with his dull, beaked snout. It was yellow and dry, but vegetation was scarce enough that he ate it anyway, ripping it up from its sorry roots and chewing as he continued onward. As he passed through the foothills and toward some rocky outcroppings, he pawed the ground lightly, disturbing the dirt, and sniffed the ground. The dirt was a little more fertile here, he realized.

And, was it just his imagination, or could he sense the presence of crystals nearby?

Titus lifted his head, clubbed tail swinging slowly behind him as he focused on the sensation that tingled in the back of his mind. Yes. Crystals. Most definitely; it was faint, but it was there. They were simple cave crystals, and in his mind, he imagined a cave much like the ones he'd favored back in his tribe's homeland. Something about the caves made it much simpler for him to focus his power and form necessary crystals with the useful powers he often used for the aid of others-- the acrid, sad soil of the overland was barely promising these days.

As he tuned his senses ahead, he realized that the feeling of the crystaline presence was somewhere ahead of him, hidden somewhere in the rocky foothills. He couldn't quite see the cave with his own eyes, but he could feel it. Yet as he wandered toward it, his nostrils flared, and he caught the distinctive scents of carnivores. Multiple species. He snorted lightly, thought about it, but didn't stop.

Carnivores everywhere these days-- may as well just take the chance. If it means finding a crystal cave to rest in for a while, if nothing else, it'll be bloody well worth it.

"Yes it was." Deathguard laghed. He then roared agen louder. Shinu then said. "....This is worst then the coelo's doing the are you there yet thing....at least there not doing it." Shinu mummbled verry lowly. Two coelo's who had now powers what so ever, then said. "Shinu. Shinu shinu. SHINU!" They squelled. Shinu then hissed. "What." The two coelo's then squeacked. " Are we there yet? I just saw a butterfly! Look a mountan! Are we going on a adventure?!" Shinu then puffed out air. " How about you guys go have a adventure and go to Death Creek and get eaten by the other raptors..." Shinu hissed. The coelo's egnored her. " Oh I saw a star!" one of the coelo's said. Deathguard then started to lagh to himself.
Galaxy started to wonder what the mentor said about "hope" And why In the world did he look at her? She deffinitly wasn't a "hope". All of a sudden the celos were causing trouble again and poor Shinu was on the end of it. Deathwatch started laughing and she couldn't help but join in. Even mentor had a small smile. Suddenly she felt something about a mile away from them. Being unable to see was agrivating, but she could "see" better and farther sometimes... "I feel someone out there." she said gazing off towards the creature. "it's very far away but it's there." "I'm open to any survivors" Shinu said. "we can't go off course or we won't make it!" Guan said. "don't worry I will teleport there and back." galaxy replied. "oh that's soooo cool! Can I come?" he chirped. "only if mentor lets you. And you will have to go In your smaller form. The bigger you are the harder it is to take you ." She sighed. She wanted to try and be nice to the little dinosaur for once, though she hated playing 20 questions...

Fern glanced around nervously, then grabbed a mouthful of grass. Then she glanced around nervously again, heard a noise and darted into the bushes. The noise was the shriek of a hungry pterydon. I waited until he had disapeared before darting out and over to the next clump of bushes.

Then she heard crashing footsteps, loud as thumder. There was a wounded barosaurus limping along. It looked like he had been attacked by a pack of raptors and managed to fight them off, but got badly hurt, and probably the raptors would return later to finish him off when he was weaker. Except Fern was here to heal him. As long as he didn't accidently step on her before she could get close enough.

Cautiously, she approached him and climbed onto his tail. "Hold still, I'm going to help you," she said. He twisted his neck around to see her. "Hey, what are you doing on my tail! Get off!" He started thrashing it to and fro, trying to shake her off. "Hey, didn't you hear me? I said I'm going to help you!" "Oh. Sorry." He stopped thrashing his tail.

Fern closed her eyes and cleared her mind. Then she filled it with visions of light. The hot, fiery light of the sun, the cool, creamy light of the moon and the tiny pinprick lights of the stars. Her tiny green body glowed, and the barosaurus's wound vanished.

"Wow, thank you! You made it disapear like magic!" said the barosaurus. "Wait a second, it was magic, wasn't it? Are you a LightWeilder? I thought LightWeilders and other dinosaurs with elemental powers were just myths..."

But Fern had already leaped off his tail and scurried back into the cover of the undergrowth.

Further into the rocky outcroppings, Titus found more vegetation. Along with the change in the soil, he found that the undergrowth here had, at least partially, survived. It was still dry, and pitiful looking, but still mostly green-- which in itself was a miracle.

Distantly, he heard the heavy footsteps of a large dinosaur, and caught the scent of blood as he kept moving. He slowed his steps, his stature becoming more wary as he searched the surrounding trees with his pale gaze. The smell of the carnivores was stronger the further in he went, and an Allosaur scent gave him particular pause. His snout wrinkled. He didn't much like Allosaurs. Or Rexes, for that matter. Or any large carnivores. Smaller ones didn't bother him so much, but the bigger ones-- they were trouble. He didn't mind helping one in need, but most often, it wasn't worth his efforts. He simply avoided them, for the most part.

But he wanted to find that cave. He didn't know why, but he felt a draw toward it like he hadn't felt in years. That was at least something to focus on, other than the scattered corpses of dinosaurs he found all over the landscape he'd traveled.

Passing quietly around a large crop of boulders, he sifted through a growth of vegetation and found a small pool that was hardly more than a large, muddy puddle. He would've ignored it before the catastrophe...but now, he couldn't pass up the opportunity for water. Yet as he went for it, a little shadow went darting across his path. With a startled grunt, he barely avoided stepping on whatever little creature was, lifting his front foot with a jerk and chuffing annoyedly. "Whoa, whoa...what's the matter with you? Are you trying to get squashed?" Upon closer inspection, he saw that the creature was, in fact, a tiny Fabrosaur.

"Oh... um, I'm sorry... I didn't mean to get in your way..." Fern said, backing away.

She scampered out of the way and let the Ankylosaurus drink. She stood there, trembling from the shock of almost getting kiled and watched him suck in massive gulps of water, then she crouched down and drank too in tiny sips. But she leaned too far and accidently fell in. The next thing she new, she was sucked into the ankylosaurus's mouth by another one of his massive slurps. She almost got swallowed, but at the last second he coughed and sputtered and spat her out. She crouched down, trembling again. "Oh, I'm sorry, I don't know what's wrong with me today... I'd better go..." She started to scurry away, but slipped and fell back in the puddle.

Titus snorted lightly at the tiny Fabrosaur, but had been grateful for the drink of water, and went to drink, mostly ignoring the tiny dinosaur. Until he ended up accidentally inhaling her on one of his large gulps. Startled, he spat her out, letting out a noise of disgust and leaving the Fabrosaur sputtering and flustered on the ground. "Ugh! So that's what another dinosaur tastes like...don't know how carnivores can stomach it--"

Then, as if that wasn't enough, the Fabrosaur, in a flurry, went plopping back into the puddle again. Titus let out a low grumbling noise, stepping into the small pool and ducking his head toward the flustered dinosaur. "All right, enough of that. You're so jumpy, you're gonna hurt yourself."

He caught the small dinosaur's slender tail in his beak gently, lifting her out of the puddle. Then, just as gently, he set her down on the ground again, examining her closely, with some curiosity. "You know, you might be able to help me. You happen to know where there might be a crystal cave around here?"

Tharonyx couldn't believe her eyes, the group was on the move, and Mentor...he was rolling contently in thick muddy ooze. "Wouldn't be easier for one of those healers to give you relief? I mean, I've seen what they can do."

Mentor, that old, blind, Triceratops [aka Torosaurus] went right on with his wallowing paying no attention what so ever to the rantings of his companion. "Right now I care little for the follies of Prophesy...give me mud, I say, and let me roll to my hearts..."

A sudden motion amongst the brush nearby sent Tharonyx a scampering.

"Welcome to my oasis, come a relax by the pool." Mentor bellowed.

Shinu finnaly arived at a cave in the center of the canion. The cave had giant crystals in it. Other dinos where whateing outside. Some were elders, others were young. Shinu then left the grop to go talk to a old, blind,  Apatosaurus. " Thats some of the survivors shinu saved." Deathguard said to Guan. "Some of them are quiet agressive. Others are quiet. " Deathguard continued. The two coelo's ran to a black dimetrodon in the group, they then started to talk to it. " This was were we had our meetings every now and then. The dawnspark is the cave full of crystals. When there was light, it used to shine from a mile away, glisening like the morning sun." Deathguard hummed.
Galaxy decided not to take guan. She didn't want him to get hurt... She teleported over to where she felt the presence. She used her carnivore predatory senses to smell a herbivore. Two In fact. She came up to a ankylosaurus and a fabrosaurus drinking water from a pond. She calmly walked over to the other side of the pond. The ankylosaurs looked cautious and ready to strike and the fabrosaurus was a mix of emotions she couldn't tell. She tried to appear friendly but the large herbivore didn't buy it... Galaxy fought all of her instincts to pounce on them but didn't want to get clubbed. Plus Shinu would probably yell at her for eating survivors. So for a quick snack she grabbed a fish. It was a nice plump one too. The herbivore was still watching her carefully. "I'm not here to harm you. We have a group of survivors and we were wondering if you want to join. If you do I can teleport you there." The ankylosaurs just looked plain confused. So she teleported to one side then the other. She also picked up another fish for some of the others to eat. She sat waiting for how they would respond.

He didn't even have the time to hear the little Fabrosaur answer when suddenly, almost out of nowhere, his nostrils caught the scent of the Allosaur-- only, this time, it was much stronger than before. And it was fresh. He lifted his head, thorny brows lowering as he focused all of his senses on the smell and any unusual sounds around them.

Sure enough, a moment later, a surprisingly small Allosaur stepped out of the dismal vegetation and stepped toward the pool. He'd seen plenty of Allosaurs in his life, and knew they were large creatures. This one was the size of a juvenile, yet appeared fully grown. Still, despite that, he eyed the female carnivore warily. He didn't care if she was smaller than normal; she was still big enough to do some damage if she decided to attack.

But as he and the Fabrosaur watched, the Allosaur seemed to simply poke around the opposite side of the pool, and even caught a fish. He narrowed his eyes, snorting lightly, watching her. She appeared to be trying to appear friendly, but he wasn't quite buying it. Yet.

When the Allosaur spoke, he was dubious of what she was saying-- up until she mentioned teleporting. When she demonstrated, vanishing from one spot, reappearing in another, only to teleport back to the original space, he was briefly surprised, eyes widening for a moment. That was unusual. A SpaceBender. He'd heard of them, but never saw one for himself before.

Nontheless, she was still an Allosaur, and he still doubted what she said. He didn't allow himself to look too impressed, giving another stubborn snort, giving the carnivore a flat look. "I'd rather walk, thanks. Why should we trust you, anyway?"

There was no response. Mentor picked himself up from the muddy xanadu and moved to dry ground, best not to get caught knee-deep in mud. "Tharonyx, we've got company!"

Tharonyx appeared, bounded toward the huge Triceratops/Torosaurus, a lept wildly, landing upon his frill just back of his brow horns.

The brush parted and 3 raptors became visible, followed by 6 more. Each began to take up pre-planned positions. The leader, examined the beast with a careful eye. "Look, it hissed...this one's blind...our lucky day."

"Mentor, now would be a good time to do something. Anything? Just a little thing." Tharonyx pleaded.

"What would you have me do? Clearly we are outnumbered, and I doubt you would put up much of a fight." Mentor yawned, "besides its not my time."

The lead raptor seemed surprised and a bit insulted. "Defend yourself...put up a fight...die with dignity."

Mentor slowly stepped back into the mud. The raptors couldn't contain themselves anymore, they all had been starving for a kill for days, and the thought of fresh meat drove their natural instincts. They broke from their planned pattern of attack and moved as a single mass, teeth and claw, ready to deliver death. Tharonyx hid her eyes.

There was suddenly thunder, an earthquake, and the sound of snapping bone and shrieks of pain. 4 raptors lay crushed under the enormous front feet of an Apatosaurus, the other raptors stunned ran for immediate cover, now leaderless and a clan horribly reduced in number and hunting effectiveness.

"You can open your eyes, Tharonyx, its over, your safe." Mentor encouraged.

"Wha..." Tharonyx tried to make sense of what just happened.

"They didn't see that one coming." Mentor snickered.

"...and you did?"

Mentor moved out of the apatosaurs way and allowed it to drink from the pool. "Of course!"

The Chosen
Setting

At first, in the lovely and varied ancient continent of the dinosaurs, to after the apocalypse: a bleak and barren world, where the sky is dark with smog and the only thing that lights the night is the distant eruptions and wildfires.

Plot

Everyone knows the Meteor theory of how the dinosaurs died. This is set from just before to a while after. The Chosen are the few dinosaurs who survive the apocalypse, wielding their elemental powers to rebuild the world. The Chosen One will rise from The Chosen to be the one to wield all the elements. So says a prophecy older than the dinosaurs, scrawled on the walls of Crystal Cave--a cave high in the mountains, made purely of diamonds.

The elements:

Groundshaker--causes earthquakes at will, and can mold stone and dirt into any shape: pillars for protection, and even a house if they develop their powers. 0/2

Oceanweaver--uses the power of the ocean, and can perform the Water Cloak. That's where they enclose themselves and their friends is a whirling bubble of water. 0/2

Firebreather--wields the element of fire. Fire Shield (like Water Cloak, but with fire), Fire Blast, and Fire Breath. Fire Blast: summons fire in a large blast on the target. Fire Breath: Breathes fire upon target. 1/2

GrassWhistler--can manipulate the plants to do his/her will. Even can trap foes in a tree! 0/2

SpaceBender--manipulates space. When he/she does so, they typically warp an enemy or their friends and themselves. They can even put a space bubble around something, or slash through space and a foe, effectively killing the target. It's a very powerful role. 2/2

TimeWeaver--manipulates time. Can travel in time and see all the possible outcomes of something happening. Often seems very wise. 1/2

Crystal Master-- grows crystals imbued with special powers, such as the power to heal, poision, or simply wound. Crystals are sharp when broken. 1/2

ShadowDancer--manipulates the darkness. Can also cast illusions and play with people's minds. Stronger after the apocalypse. 2/2

Lightning Tamer--uses the power of lightningbolts to deal out damage. Can generate and electric field around themselves and their friends 0/2

CloudChaser--master of the atmosphere, can drain all the oxygen out of a room and control the weather. 0/2

Transformer--not an element. Guanlong-specific. Transforms into a mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex! 1/2

LightWielder--uses the power of light to blind foes, heal wounds, and make everyone happy. Stronger before the apocalypse. 1/2

The Chosen One--utelizes all the elements, but usually uses only one, like if the Chosen One was the Lightning Tamer, then they usually use electricity. NOT A CHOICE FOR CHARACTER! 0/1

You can still have names, but the title must become part of the name (on the form, you can write 'Darkness the ShadowDancer', not just 'Darkness'. Or, you could put 'ShadowDancer' in the character summary, i suppose...)

PLEASE DO NOTE that these dinosaurs are supposed to be very very special. I am limiting the amount of each to two. However, the abilities can be hereditary but must come from only one side of the family.

History

Some of the dinosaurs don't get along. Obviously, carnivores and herbivores don't like each other, and Tyrannosaurus Rexes are loner types--hostile and cold. The herbivores are gentle-natured, and omnivores are the mediators.

Rules

No serious gore, and keep it PG-PG13. No hogging the spotlight, and try to get along. I understand not everyone can be best friends, but still. If you have any problems, PM me.

Also, only control your character. I know the word limit is sometimes hard to meet, but please. People don't like that.

Plus, there is a posting order now that I've gotten left out a whole lot. Follow it as best you can!

Raiku--Raiku left.

Hydra

Sylvea

She-Beast

HeatherDragon

Shinu--Shinu left.
