a tear in space appeared under a dead dinosaur, wich fell into it, only to almost instantly reappear stripped of all its nutrients. now appearing a healthy weight, deadclaw appeared to collect the hide and bones of the now empty corpse. she quickly tore the ribcage away from the drained corpse, and dissapeared back into the surrounding foiliage. She immeadiatly began carving strange markings onto the bones, and then the bones dissapeared from this world. not wanting to cause any trouble with the dinosaurs inside the cave, she found a small burrow in the ground just big enough for a veloceraptor, and fell asleep.
"I'm quite able to proceed without your assistance, but thank you anyway. I am a traveller and these sorry excuse..." Mentor pointed to Tharonyx, "...is my travelling companion." The troodon Tharonyx jumped from her hiding place behind Mentor. "Excuse? Ha! Hey, look Menotr they have food and lots of it" The smile of meat excited Tharonyx. "If it is alright with the others go help yourself."
"If its alright with you Shinu, I'd rather stay outside of this particular cave...but seeing that a chose of a night of painful rainfall or soothing moist dank is in the offing, I accept your hospitality" Mentor weighed in.
Mentor tested the air, listened, then stared blankly at the others. "I've come to share in your adventures, but can go only as far as the crystal bridge."
Tharonyx reappeared stuffing her face with a little bit of this and that, "There he goes again...crystal bridge. Forget about that Mentor, we've got friends and food now, let your guard down and enjoy.
Â
"its not the rogue dinos you have to worry about" Mentor injected from his quiet part of the cave. About his feet one could see the scurrying of small rodents, they seem to be everywhere. "The rainfall will be burning again, and that should keep most hostile...victims at bay."
Tharonyx brought Mentor over a collection of fruits to eat, but he turned them down. "You have got to eat something, Mentor." She put the fruits down near him and started off chasing the little rodents.
"Once we were the masters of these world, alive in the sunlight, but now we have new masters. It was fun...damn those skyfalls..."
Guan looked around at all the new dinosaurs. He noticed that the velociraptor kept disappearing and reappearing randomly. He grinned. That was so cool! And the Galaxy dinosaur seemed to be able to do that too. He listened to what they all had to say, then bounced up to Mentor.
"So you're supposed to be blind?" He chirped. Frowning, he gazed into the old dinosaur's eyes. "You seem to see more than I do. Can you see me do this?"
Guan stepped a little ways back, then concentrated. He felt the strength running through him, and allowed it to flow throughout him. He roared mightily, feeling the power surge into his bones, and within moments he was a large, black Tyrannosaurus. A flame pattern on his scales ran from his tail-tip all the way to his head. He was eager to show that he was special, too.
"Is that cool or what?" He rumbled joyfully, looking around to see his newfound friends' reactions.
"Whoa!..that's some trick" Tharonyx piped in with a bit of a whistle.
Mentor didn't respond much, "In my younger time such a display would have set me to challenge, but that was then. Your talent will serve you well Guan."
"It's it...your talent will serve you well?..,.Mentor, Guan just transformed into a tyrannosaur...and a bit one at that! Don't you fill the least bit afraid..." Tharonyx chirped.
"What would you have me say? These are going to be very trying times, we will be needing ALL our skills and...Gifts..." Mentor paused. "...besides I already know my fate. A curse for now, but once we get to the Crystal Bridge...we'll ALL see."
Guan's young eyes grew wide. "Crystal Bridge? What's that?" He looked up to Shinu. "Even if it's out in the open, it's pretty dark outside. Won't you like that?" He wanted to go find the Crystal Bridge and keep walking until his feet were sore and he was so tired he couldn't walk, then fall asleep and do it all again. That was what journeying was about, right?
Transforming back into his small Guanlong forme, he rolled his head to get the stiffness out. "Can we all go to the Crystal Bridge, OÂ wise one who can see what most cannot??" He sat still but his tail swished eagerly.
At first, in the lovely and varied ancient continent of the dinosaurs, to after the apocalypse: a bleak and barren world, where the sky is dark with smog and the only thing that lights the night is the distant eruptions and wildfires.
Everyone knows the Meteor theory of how the dinosaurs died. This is set from just before to a while after. The Chosen are the few dinosaurs who survive the apocalypse, wielding their elemental powers to rebuild the world. The Chosen One will rise from The Chosen to be the one to wield all the elements. So says a prophecy older than the dinosaurs, scrawled on the walls of Crystal Cave--a cave high in the mountains, made purely of diamonds.
The elements:
Groundshaker--causes earthquakes at will, and can mold stone and dirt into any shape: pillars for protection, and even a house if they develop their powers. 0/2
Oceanweaver--uses the power of the ocean, and can perform the Water Cloak. That's where they enclose themselves and their friends is a whirling bubble of water. 0/2
Firebreather--wields the element of fire. Fire Shield (like Water Cloak, but with fire), Fire Blast, and Fire Breath. Fire Blast: summons fire in a large blast on the target. Fire Breath: Breathes fire upon target. 1/2
GrassWhistler--can manipulate the plants to do his/her will. Even can trap foes in a tree! 0/2
SpaceBender--manipulates space. When he/she does so, they typically warp an enemy or their friends and themselves. They can even put a space bubble around something, or slash through space and a foe, effectively killing the target. It's a very powerful role. 2/2
TimeWeaver--manipulates time. Can travel in time and see all the possible outcomes of something happening. Often seems very wise. 1/2
Crystal Master-- grows crystals imbued with special powers, such as the power to heal, poision, or simply wound. Crystals are sharp when broken. 1/2
ShadowDancer--manipulates the darkness. Can also cast illusions and play with people's minds. Stronger after the apocalypse. 2/2
Lightning Tamer--uses the power of lightningbolts to deal out damage. Can generate and electric field around themselves and their friends 0/2
CloudChaser--master of the atmosphere, can drain all the oxygen out of a room and control the weather. 0/2
Transformer--not an element. Guanlong-specific. Transforms into a mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex! 1/2
LightWielder--uses the power of light to blind foes, heal wounds, and make everyone happy. Stronger before the apocalypse. 1/2
The Chosen One--utelizes all the elements, but usually uses only one, like if the Chosen One was the Lightning Tamer, then they usually use electricity. NOT A CHOICE FOR CHARACTER! 0/1
You can still have names, but the title must become part of the name (on the form, you can write 'Darkness the ShadowDancer', not just 'Darkness'. Or, you could put 'ShadowDancer' in the character summary, i suppose...)

PLEASE DO NOTE that these dinosaurs are supposed to be very very special. I am limiting the amount of each to two. However, the abilities can be hereditary but must come from only one side of the family.
Some of the dinosaurs don't get along. Obviously, carnivores and herbivores don't like each other, and Tyrannosaurus Rexes are loner types--hostile and cold. The herbivores are gentle-natured, and omnivores are the mediators.
No serious gore, and keep it PG-PG13. No hogging the spotlight, and try to get along. I understand not everyone can be best friends, but still. If you have any problems, PM me.
Also, only control your character. I know the word limit is sometimes hard to meet, but please. People don't like that.
Plus, there is a posting order now that I've gotten left out a whole lot. Follow it as best you can!
