The Princess stood up, vigorously itching her tongue, and shuffled  over to her pack.

"That's dumb. I might'z well give you something while I'm over here. Don't get addicted, I don't 'ave much."

The Princess rummaged through her pack, grumbling something about "****ing venom" and subsequently pulled out a large bottle full of a suspicious looking milky liquid, and a smaller bottle full of a liquid that could not be indentified; it was small enough that the lable took up most of the surface. She rummaged for a bit longer, and pulled out three small, disposable syringe-like fishes.

The Princess found a vein on herself and administered some of the milky liquid. There was an immediate change in posture and an audible sigh of relief. She quickly found a decent spot on Sola, giving her a bit more what with increased body size and physical injuries. She also gave her a bit of the antitoxin, just in case she wasn't as immune as The Princess was now assuming. The Princess then tossed the used fish aside and made her way across the glade.

"Stop your whimpering, the real pain isn't going to start until- huh. Thought you were bigger? Well, if there's any permanant neural damage, and long-term paralysis, there's a neurosurgeon back 'ome who owes me a favor."

She poked around Keanah for a bit, before finding a major vein and administering both the murky liquid and quite a bit (relatively) of the antitoxin. She then spoke up a bit louder, adressing both Sola and Keanah

"I won't expect it, what with the whole inducing these injuries myself deal, but I'd like to be reimbursed- these aren't cheap"

The Princess then called Cat over and asked her to find lunch. Cat dissapeared into the brush.

Feeling confident that shewas far enough ahead, Rowan skidded to a halt and looked behind her. Tambia was getting caught up in the thick vegetation...

That gave Rowan an idea.

In retrospect, it was a really, REALLY bad idea.

Rowan could see tow paths up ahead. They would both likely catch Tambia up, one had lots of low vines, but it opened up at the end. Rowan could not see what was beyond it, but she guessed it was a clearing.

THe other path was thick with a briar patch, several feet tall. Rowan had no idea what could be in there, how deep it was, or whay lay on the other side, but going through there seemed like a good idea at the time.

AT THE TIME.

Rowan charged into the thorns, They scraped annoyingly at her scales, and they alowed her down MUCH more than she had expected. THey also seemed to get thicker the more she traveled into the thicket, weaving together in an increasingly dense wall.

She kept going, despite the fact that she had very little room to move side to side. Only forward.

And it was only when she found herself hopelessly tangled up that she admitted that, maybe, she should have thought this through a little more.

Rowan was stuck. The thorly likes were tangled tightly around her back legs and her shoulders, and she could not get loose. She had attempted to bite through, all that had done was give her a mouthfull of thorns and blood. She did not want to pull loose and crash blindly through, her scales were not made for deense and she would get ripped up. Clawig her way out was useless; had these been green, live thorns she could have slashed through but most of these were dead, brown, and too tough for her claws.

Rowan sighed and mentally smacked herself.

THe good news?

She had probably escaped Tambia.

Sola growled the entire time the humanoid creature injected her with the mysterious liquid, the thought crossing her mind that it may be more poison or a anesthetic. But she didn't have much time to protest as the needle pierced her skin. A cooling effect spread from the sight of the injection, but if anything, it only made her more nauseous. In addition, the pain in her wing was numbed, which was something she'd had to pop back into socket later.

I her relief, she didn't notice Qeo's plight across the clearing, to focused on the humanoid creature. As it went to the wolf, Sola followed. The poor creature looked half dead, and Sola's heart ached. Lightly, she pressed her nose against the wolf's neck as the humanoid injected it as well. She didn't say anything, she simply lent her own body as comfort.

Sola closed her eyes, exhaustion was dragging her muscles. But still, she stood still, waiting to see if a response came from this wolf. If it died, Sola would stay with it to the end. Any creature was owed that much.

Sola opened her eyes sideways at the humanoid. "I honestly have no clue what you are talking about. Look; I ended up on the wrong end of a portal and ended up in this world. So far, my day has been getting worse and fast. I'd love it if you shut up for a few while I stand here." Her tones were sharp and bitter. She was feeling weak; one of the most dangerous times to be around Sola, considering her defensive responses.

Still, she waited for the wolf to stir as she held her head to its neck fur.

Loki had watched the whole scene from his perch, and he had a new respect for Tambia. He stayed hidden not because of fear, but because he was tired of people not listening to him. Why did everyone look for some hidden meaning? Everything he said was true, he just stated it. But all everyone heard was emotions or threats, all he ever did was take words for face value.

When Tambia went after Rowan, Loki sighed and flew off after her. He laughed eternally as she fought through briers. "Don'tpushthrough, weavearoundthickerpatches." He said as he approached. He plucked at some of the briers with his beak, untangling them and causing the to loosen. "Thankyouforstickingupforme. I'musedtoitanyways." he paused, "Youdidn'thavetosayanything, butitwasverykindofyoutodothat."

Tambia was getting frustrated; it seemed the jungle was no place for her; every time she thought she was making progress she would get caught up in something else. At first she thought she’d be dumped into a paradise and she’d like living there, but she found herself actually starting to miss the desert a little, and that seemed an absolutely absurd notion to even dare to cross her mind after all she’d went through to be free of there. She pawed at the ground impatiently as she was forced to chew through yet more briers, fortunately the scrapes they were making were shallow and hardly anything to be concerned about.

Just then she heard Loki`s voice “there you are” she interrupted him, ignoring what he was saying “I was wondering where you’d gotten off to. Don’t worry, I am in pursuit of your attacker as we speak, and I will oblige her to make amends soon” she affirmed fluently just in time to catch the rest of what he was saying “It’s no big thing” she insisted “I just can’t stand to see the defenseless being bullied like that, so I had to do something, she could have hurt you” she stated simply “and I thank you as well for helping me out of this—mess” she was attempting to play off the fact that she was embarrassed to be seen being so ungainly “but I don’t have time to talk right now, or I’m going to lose her trail” the scent had already grown faint “talk later” she said hurriedly and started moving at the quickest pace she was able again ‘I am not letting her get away’ she huffed; it had become personal.

Qeo reached the other side of the clearing crashing through the underbrush wildly in a panic, not daring to look back. His eyes flicked around restlessly as he searched for a place to hide. Refuge presented itself in the form of a thicket of twisted briars; surely nothing would try to follow him into that. He wheeled around, lowering his head and charging through the thick curtain of briars like a bull. The chintous plates along the bridge of his nose, and his face horns protected his face from being cut up, and his tough skin repelled the others, resisting damage. Even still, he swiftly found his legs restrained, but used his blade to cut himself free with the greatest of ease; there were few things that were sharper or harder than his blade.

There he finally recovered the nerve to turn around, looking out at the direction he’d run from as he backed up reservedly. After stealing enough steps backward, careful not to cut his pads on the thorns underfoot, he calmed a bit as he could see nothing pursuing him, but he couldn’t stop trembling. That transformation still playing vividly through his mind; he was so fixated on that reflection in fact, that he hadn’t even noticed that he wasn’t alone admits the mass of tangled briers. He heard something move, and immediately snapped his head around only to see a silver dragon biting at something not far behind him. He hurriedly tucked himself under a mantle of thorns, hoping apprehensively it hadn’t spotted him.

After a moment, he dared to poke his head back out and look that way again, this time noticing that the dragon was all tangled up, struggling against copious thick, thorny vines and wouldn’t be going anywhere. It hadn’t noticed him, too busy with its own predicament it seemed, and what a predicament it was. He started to turn and leave, but hefelt bad for the dragon; it might die if it couldn’t get free. He feared what it might do to him; even though dragons didn’t eat other dragons where he came from, that didn’t mean that they didn’t kill other dragons. Those he met previously had always responded with aggression, so he had learned to keep his distance, but concern won out over reservation. He felt safe enough approaching something he knew couldn’t come after him.

He approached hesitantly, with his head held low in submission “I-Im goin do cud you f-fwee” he stammered timorously “pease don hurd me” he folded his frills back uncertainly, and inched closer crouched low to the ground, making sure to give the dragons jaws a wide berth, so it couldn’t reach out and grab him, he moved around swinging his blade carefully as he went, making short work of the vines that were connected to the ground which caused all the ones restraining her to fall free. He then dashed to the safety of the blanket of thorns he’d hid under before, and cowered out of easy reach.

The Princess was taken aback, and mildly offended. An exclamation was reflexive, and the snark was quick on its heels.

"What? Ruuuude! Looks like somebody went through public education. I'll not be giving you and Uiliphine in the future."

The Princess scoffed and turned on her heels. Her jaw snapped shut, and she returned to her hammock. Before laying down, she hung her pack back up in the tree, and fussed over the placement of her bedding for a bit. She pulled an odd, spirally-oriented book titled Nothing to Sea Here from her pack and settled down into her hammock, before getting up, setting up the bug net, and then returning.

Grace shrugged and flew off, with Kinto following. Grace turned to him and asked"Sooo.... what are we going to do next?"

"What are you asking me for?"

"Your my big brother, remember?"

"Grace.... Why are you asking me?"

"Ooh...... Gotcha" Grace zoomed off, Kinto struggling to follow. She dodged the trees as they appeared behend each other. Grace slowed down and waited for Kinto to catch up. "I think i found something to eat?"

"GRACE, DO YOU SERIOUSLY THINK WE CAN EAT WOOD!?"

"No, i think we can eat this." She ripped off the bark and watch as a thick liquid poured out of it.  "Maple tree!!!"

" I do not think its a Maple tree."

"Suit yourself!"

"Fine, i am going to look for something that a hummingbird eats."

"Which is what?"

"Nectar. " Kinto started whispering now. "Aren't you the brightest bulb."

"I HEARD THAT!"

Jake looked around; still no sign of Hiss. That's all he cared about at the moment. He was sure the bird had gone through with him. There was no way his wings were strong enough to keep him from getting pulled through the portal.

Jake knew for sure that this was not any jungle from where he was from; the plants around him weren't the same. There could be animals they didn't how to fight off. Maybe Hiss had been eaten by some animal or carnivorous plant. He shook his head. He didn't want to think about that. He just wanted to find his friend. Then there was a rustling from the bushes. Jake spun around, his hand on the handle of his katana. The first things he saw were a pair of emerald green eyes. Then he saw the head of the creature that looked at him: it looked like a giant cobra.

The beast lunged from behind the bush with a shriek, missing Jake by an inch as he rolled out of the way. The beast had a body like that of a small therapod, standing on long, slim legs. Its hooked claws caught the little sunlight that escaped through the lush canopy. The quills on its tail stood. The dark green beast glared at Jake as it revealed its blood-red hood and sharp fangs and shrieked.

Not you again! Jake thought. The venom striker before him had also been pulled through the portal. He could see slash marks on its back where he attacked it with his dagger. I don't have time for this! Jake looked up; there wasn't enough room for him to morph and fly away. He noticed the venom striker rushing forward too late, and was tackled by the beast. As it pinned him down, he took out one of his daggers and slashed at the striker 's face. It roared with a mix of fury and pain, releasing Jake. He got up and started running, but he knew he wouldn't be able to outrun the creature. He unsheathed his katana and turned to face the striker.

But to his surprise, it wasn't chasing him. Instead, it seemed to be fight of some flying creature. Wait, he thought. Is that...? He got closer. An eagle with a snake's tail kept swooping toward it, scratched it, then flew out of reach. Jake sighed with relief; he found Hiss. After a few minutes of trying to knock the viper eagle out of the air, the venom striker gave up and fled. "There you are!" Hiss said when he saw Jake. "I was starting to think I was never gonna find you."

Jake sheathed his sword and dagger as the bird flew above his head. "Do you recognise this place?" He asked. Jake shook his head. He had found Hiss; now he had no idea what to do. As Hiss landed on Jake's shoulder, he started to wonder where he was for the first time.

"I guess we should find someone and ask where we are," Hiss said as he looked around. "You haven't seen anyone, have you?" Jake shook his head again. That's what they had to do, then. I just hoped that there are people around here...

Rowan was just about to start panicking when shee caught a flash of purple out the corner of her eye. The brambles prevented her from turning her head and getting a better look, but whatever it was, it was small and purple.

She was suprised indeed when the little thing came closer and began to cut away the vines, abeit keeping it's distance.

"Yes, thank you!"

She chirped happily.

"No, no, I won't eat you!"

It finished cutting the thick vines away and darted into a thicker patch of thorns. Out of her sight. Rowan considered calling out to it... But then again, it probably lived in here. Best thing to do was to leave.

Instead of runningl wildly through this time, rowan carefully backed up through the path she had inadverdently created on the way in. She had thought a bit while stuck, and she had a plan of sorts now instead of just wildly jumping into everything. She was not going all the way out of the bush the way she came in; Tambia was bound to be at the end. She backed up only to where the thorns were less thick, and took a different path through the brairs, carefull to stay on the edge. She would stay in here untill she saw a good escape route, or untill tambia left. She walked for a few minutes... Too aware that she was REALLY hurting now. And she was tired... But was it safe to stop and rest? Maybe is she switched forms. Her scent was a bit different, and her appearence completely so. Even if she got caught in it, she could play safe... If Tambia found her, she might not realize who it was... Maybe.

Rowan switched into her human form, whick was blissfully unharmed. It was weak, naturally, no good to reavel here in. But it was just fine to settle down and sleep... Just for a little while.

After awhile of not hearing anything nearby Qeo dared to poke his head back out and look around; seeing nothing around, he carefully worked his way back out from under the briers, careful not to catch his wings or his sail on any thorns as he crawled out. Useless as they were it would still hurt to cut them open and they were susceptible points. He stared in the direction the dragon had previously been, the dragon had seemed docile enough, it hadn’t come after him anyway, but he wouldn’t push his luck by pursuing it. He then gazed out in the direction he’d previously run from. He wanted to go find Sola, but the thought of that thing still being back there made him shudder, and then there was that other one with the scary looking mouth. That one appeared as though it would have no trouble biting him in half. He shook his head to perish the thought, and curled up, staying put ditheringly. For the time it felt safer among the mass of thorns with lots of places to hide, still he feared if he remained separated from Sola he wouldn’t be able to find her again.
Tambia had followed Rowan's scent up to a thorny thicket, the very sight of which stopped her dead in her tracks ‘surely she wouldn’t have been crazy enough to go in there would have she?!’ Tambia thought incredulously ‘really?” she huffed exasperatedly; it blew her mind that anyone would go to those kinds of lengths just to avoid her, and for something as trivial as an apology no less. There was no way she was going in there. She knew she’d get caught up in that mess in no time, her mouth was tough, but if she tried biting through that amount of thorns she knew she’d just end up with a bloodied mouth, and thorns being stuck in places there in where they wouldn’t dislodge. She pawed the ground and threw her head up riled “darn it” she growled thinking about what to do next, it was a setback for sure, but Tambia was persistent; she would not give up that easily especially after all the trouble she’d been through just to get there.

After a moment, she decided to take her humanoid form, determining it would be possible to move through there if she was careful, the only problem was if she did that she wouldn’t really have the energy left to change back for awhile, and that seemed inconvenient, not to mention the ach it would cause. ‘No choice’ she sighed internally, knowing that if she tried going around there she would lose the trail for sure, and shifted wincingly; yet another thing she’d need to pay Rowan back for among an ever expanding list of grievances. She then began to pick her way gradually through the obstacle course- esque arrangement of briars, becoming increasingly more temperamental in the process.

After some time, she spotted something out ahead amid the thorns, but it was not a dragon. Had someone else truly been foolish enough to stroll into such an inhospitable place? She stopped in her tracks to ponder that; it seemed the scent trail led in that direction, but the dragon was nowhere to be seen. She quirked her head at what appeared to be a human, wondering if the dragon had the ability to change forms like her kind. At the same time, hesitant to investigate further; she had no personal experience with humans, but knew that they were generally nothing but trouble, and where there was one there were more. The thought that she was looking at a true human played through her mind, but only gave her pause temporarily. The scent was too similar, it couldn’t be coincidence; she had to be looking at the dragon in another form, it was the only thing that made sense, and the ability to change forms was far from being a foreign concept to her. She accepted that others could do it readily.

“You thought you were so clever, didn’t you?” she called out taunting to the human still quite some distance up ahead “trying to lose me in this mess, changing form in a sad attempt to throw me for a loop—well guess what I can do that too, but then—you already knew that, so why you thought you could lose me in here I honestly have no idea” she affirmed pointedly “You owe me for all the trouble, I’m sore all over because of you!—Just wait until I get over there!” She called threateningly, vexation evident in her tone as she worked her way toward Rowan uncompromisingly but slowly “you should have apologized!”

Rowan woke up abruptly to the sound of angry yells. She sat up quickly and looked over in the direction of the noise... She knew that voice... It was Tambia.

Great.

How long had she been asleep? Tambia had found her already!? Gah!

She flipped onto her side, snarling and bristling-Wait. Wrong form. Mentally smacking herself, Rowan quickly shifted forms, brown hair and tan skin giving way to silver scales and dark wings. It might be suicide, but Rowan had had enough of chase the devil. It was time to take action!

Rowan scrambled to her feet, charging Tambia. It seemed that she was also in her human form. Good, that was a weak point she could exploit, especially if she got a few scratches in before Tambia could shift back into her larger, more dangerous form.

‘Great’ she thought intolerantly as she watched Rowan switch back to dragon form and charge her, clearly this dragon was ready for a fight, and Tambia was just incensed enough to oblige rather than attempting to pacify the situation like usual. She realized that she was at something of a disadvantage in her humanoid form, but switching back would only make her more so as she would be left with almost no energy, having not eaten enough to sustain the constant shifts. Her humanoid form would have to do; she may have been less capable, but she was no weakling, and would be able to maneuver amid the thorns more adroitly than the dragon would. That and she still possessed aspects of her other form; her hooves in particular made it possible to run right over the thorns without any pain at all.

‘The hard way it is then’ she grinned cracking her neck confidently before jumping though a circular opening in the wall of thorns before her parkour style to meet the dragon head on “you choose your conflicts poorly” she criticized “guess there’s nothing left to do but beat that apology out of you hide—because one way or another you’re not leaving without it” she growled as she agilely sidestepped the charging dragon and swung her tail, aiming to stab Rowan with the sharp spade at the end of it.
Grace had shifted to her human form as she waited for Kinto in a fork of branches on her Maple Tree. She was bored as she waited for her brother in his Hummingbird form. To be honest, he looked adorable! A itty-bitty bird with itty-bitty wings and itty-bitty feet and everything! She laughed and in the process, moved a bit. So when she leaned backward, she fell off. "OWW!" She got off her back and rubbed her head with her hand. Grace got up and looked at her arm. It was scratched, and it stung, but it didn't hurt enough for her to actually call it a wound. She looked around her and a few meters away she saw something in a tree. And a hammock in the tree. Hmm..... She ran toward the tree. It looked like some sort of humanoid. "WHO'S UP THERE!?"

Order of the Shard
Setting

The setting is flexible, and will change as the characters move from world to world.

Currently, the portals are leaving people in the middle of wild, untamed jungle. The forest around you is so thick, any sunlight that filters through is a dark, shadowy green. The weather here is unpredictable, raining one minuet and crushing its inhabitants with heat the next. To add to the treachery of the landscape, you are perched on the side of a mountain, challenging every step you make with crumbling stones and jutting cliffs. Beware of your surroundings, The Order of the Shard are not your only enemies here. This planet is inhabited by dinosaurs, as it seems the portals have dumped you into some sort of prehistoric earth.

Now, you have one decision; up, or down?

Plot

The space and time continuum has been thrown wildly out of order, causing portals from across the universe to rip open at seeming random times. These portals cause a violent reaction in the area around them, sucking in all near by beings through and dumping them into a new world, in a new time. It is up to you to figure out what is going on, and how to survive in this uninhabited and hostile world. However, you are not the only one in this journey. Creatures from all sorts of other worlds, some which you could not imagine, have been pulled to this planet as well.

The reasons for the disturbances are not as random as you may think. An organization, know as The Order of the Shards, or Shard for short, also inhabits this planet. They are led by a woman who goes by the name of Anthanaisia, who believes that her cause is the only way to save the universe. She is seeking out the seven split pieces of the Great Crystal, and with its power she plans to destroy all the current worlds and create a new, perfect one.

But the shards are well protected. It is up to you and the friends you make to find the even crystal shards. The Shard of Bravery, The Shard of Faith, The Shard of Sacrifice, The Shard of Will, The Shard of Passion, The Shard of Vitality, and The Shard of Hope. With these shards, you can restore the Great Crystal. With its power, you can stop Shard and return everybody to their proper times and dimensions.

But it is not as easy as collecting the pieces. You will be racing against time itself to find the shards before Anthanasia, or perhaps racing to gather them for her. These shards will test you in trails to prove you are truly worth the honor of possessing them. Will you be able to pass the ultimate tests of character?

There isn't a whole lot of history right now, as the history is made by the characters.

Character Rules

This is a many worlds RP, therefore many types of characters are welcome, and high fantasy elements are included. However, because of the sheer diversity that is possible; some character types and powers are not allowed for various reasons, but mostly in the interest of keeping things from getting out of control.

The character types that are not allowed are as follows:

-First of all this is for original characters only

-So no preexisting characters from shows, books, games ect (though an OC from the worlds of those works may be permissible as long as it fall within the guidelines of the other rules)

-No God/immortal or invulnerable characters

-No vampires, Ghosts, skeletons or undead (though non mindless werewolves and demons are permissible)

-No non-sentient characters as main characters, although you can freely add them as secondary characters

-All characters speak the common language, so no characters speaking different languages (although non speaking characters are fine)

-No Giant Characters keep the size under twelve feet in height either from the head for bipedal characters or at the shoulder for quadruped characters.

-No tiny characters, there is no standard for this so just use common sense

-No cartoonish/troll characters as they dont fit in at all

-No Omnshifters (shifters that can take any form at will) Shifters may only have up to three forms including their humanoid one.

If a banned character is added you will be asked to modify the character. If you do not comply the character will be deleted.

The powers that are not allowed are as follows:

-No unfettered healing abilities (that is to say healing that does not have restriction/take a toll on its user. Healing abilities should not be able to heal mortal wounds)

-No resurrection

-No limitless powers of any kind, (all powers should be matched by a weakness and have limits to their usage in the name of preventing OP characters and over the top-ness )

-No mind reading (this also includes powers of control, suggestion or alteration) or future sight

-No power over time and space in any form (only Athanasia has this ability- though all the characters posses the ability to open and move through portholes at otherworldly shrines)

-No omni-elementalists (that is to say characters that can use every type of elemental arcane arts.)

-No tel or pyro- kenisis (that includes things like the force)

-No instakill move of any kind, including toxicity.

-No teleportation or super speed

-No necromancy

-No acclerated regeneration

-No invisibility or walking through solid objects

If a character is added with one of these banned powers you will be asked to modify the character. If you do not comply the character will be deleted.

It is possible to visit the worlds of any character that is added, but only if the characters creator wants to. NPC and scenario control jumps to that person if their planet is visited.

New players are free to join at anytime; it is very easy to write new characters in, because of the porthole plot device. ;) Thinking of joining? Go right ahead, I will be more than happy to provide anyone with a summary who doesn`t want to read all of this.
