The alloy proved effective and soon dragons were being fitted for the new armor. Arget was sporting his proudly. The silver dragon was strutting like a peacock, it was embarrassing for Linnea to watch. Deidara was trying to sculpt Arget but he kept moving. "Arget stay still please Deidara is trying to sculpt you." "Should I remove my glorious new armor?" "No he's trying to sculpt you with it." "Just hold still un!" Vanier was trying to draw Roslin and Oak together napping but Sophia kept distracting him. Itachi, Sauske, and Naruto were practicing some jutsu. Galvoz and Hiverda were sparring, Sakura and Chika were flying as were the other dragons. A lazy sort of summer day was just happening. Linnea was in a swimsuit sunbathing of all things. She was a bit of a sun worshiper despite her pale skin. Itachi got distracted by the view and messed his jutsu up. Deidara laughed at Itachi until he noticed what had distracted Itachi so much. "Wow... Itachi you lucky dog... That is art un..." Itachi said "Will you stop staring at her? Before I decide to kill you." "It was a compliment un!" "Get back to your clay before it bakes." Deidara went back to artwork, and Vanier changed his sketch object to his Erbithal. Sophia sighed "You do realize you're dead if anyone sees that." Vanier chuckled "No I'm not... it's art." Linnea dozed off having applied 12 hour sunscreen earlier on. It was so easy to relax and enjoy the nice day.
Seth looked up and saw Vinezilla and Daisy land. "Yo, what's up Caleb?" asked Seth. Rippleback greeted Vinezilla and Daisy. Seth walked over to Caleb and the two man hugged. Angelica and Daisy hugged. "Oh my God, she's so adorable," cooed Daisy. Angelica smiled. "Isn't she?" she asked. She rocked Sabrina. Seth looked over at Rippleback. (I got permission fron Tyranno123 to speak for him) "What's with the burning flames over there?" asked Caleb. "We got attacked by a dragon slayer," said Seth. "What?" asked Caleb and Monica. Manny wiggled in Caleb's arms. Caleb gave him to Monica. Angelica shook Manny's little hand. "Yeah. I have the slayer's dauthdart in the garage," said Seth. "Are you guys hurt?" asked Monica. "Oh please," said Seth, "I finished him easliy." He grasped Deyja's hilt. "Rippleback was, surprisingly, the slayer's steed," said Angelica. Rippleback snorted and shook himself. "I was able to get him back to normal," said Seth, petting Rippleback's leg. He then looked at Manny. "So, is this Manny?"
"Wow," said Caleb. "I should've known you would kill a slayer quickly and easily," said Caleb. He then looked at Seth. "Yes, this is little Manny," he said. "You and Angelica were there when Monica delivered," said Caleb. "We know," said Angelica. Caleb chuckled. "We wanted to be there when you had your baby, but we didn't get a call to come," said Monica. "Sorry, we just-I just wanted to get the pregnancy over with," said Angelica. Caleb chuckled with Seth. "Can I see the dauthdart?" asked Caleb. (I got permission to speak as Spino345) "Sure," said Seth. The two walked into the garage with Shadow and Vinezilla, Deyja and Oakmar at their sides. Caleb watched as Seth pulled out something that was covered in a cloth. Seth removed the cloth. He revealed a long, teal colored blade with markings on it and protrusions. "I knew they expanded the blade," said Caleb. Shadow and Vinezilla growled and backed away a bit. "That thing is a dragon killer," thought Vinezilla. "It should be destroyed," thought Shadow. "Wait."
"I stole this from the dragon slayer who attacked me and Gemma," said the Rider. He unsheathed the weapon and exposed the extended dauthdart. Aphelia growled, sending a vibration through the infirmary. The Rider jumped and covered his ears. "That weapon has killed more dragons than the Forsworn themselves," growled Aphelia. "I'm sorry, I'll put it up," said the Rider. He sheathed the dauthdart. Aphelia relaxed. "You must've gotten attacked yourself," said the Rider. "Yes, but I lived thanks to my size, fire, Linnea, and Arget," thought Aphelia. "Tell me. What is your name?" she asked. "My name is Jubilee," said the Rider. Aphelia's eyes widened. She had heard that name before. A flashback entered her mind. It was when she was in her youth, about the age of four or five. Her mate wasn't a wild dragon He was a bonded dragon. His Rider was named Jubilee. Wolfsbayne also came to her mind. Wolfsbayne had a mate. She was purple as well. Gemma had his eyes. Aphelia ended the flashback. "Are you ok?" asked Jubilee.
Vanier got his butt handed to him over the sketch. Linnea laughed at this and stopped Itachi. "He's a teenager, he's going to do stuff like that. Sides he's my student it's my job to do that" Linnea nooggied the elf and said "Ask permission before drawing something like that again." Deidara asked "Can I sculpt you and Arget?" "Where?" "The dragon hold." "Sure I'm used to this. That stone statue in the city park took forever to make." Itachi growled "I'll be watching him." Linnea appeased her lover and Arget looked smug. "I am the only male she doesn't have whipped." Linnea facepalmed and asked "How many of you guys think I have you whipped?" Sauske pointed at his brother, Naruto at Deidara. "Speak only for yourselves please. The pointing stopped. Deidara however did raise his hand. Linnea sighed "Honestly? Eragon says I'm too lax with you..." "Really un?" "Yep..." Vaneir snickered and Naruto started laughing. Linnea raised an eyebrow then rolled her eyes. Sakura hit both of them and Sophie started laughing. Hiverda stayed quiet with Galvoz. Linnea asked Deidara when he wanted to do the sculpture. He said whenever she and Arget were ready. Linnea made her way to the dragon hold. She asked Deidara why he wanted to sculpt her and Arget. Deidara said "I found my Muse, and she's telling me to sculpt you and Arget."
Seth looked at Caleb and then back at the dauthdart. "How did they do this?" he asked. "Maybe they had help," said Caleb. "Help from who?" asked Seth. "People who hate dragons and know how to make and edit weapons," said Caleb. Seth thought about it. "Caleb's right," he thought to Shadow. "There are people out there who hate dragons besides the dragon slayers," he thought. "True. But the only beings who were able to create the dauthdart were elves," thought Shadow. "Why would elves want us dead after centuries?" asked Vinezilla. "I don't think it's the elves," thought Seth. He looked at the weapon again. "I believe me have some evil magicians in league with the slayers," said Seth to Caleb. "Or maybe these slayers might actually BE the evil magicians," said Caleb. Seth thought for a moment. "Well, we need armor," said Seth. "Vinezilla has armor," said Caleb. "I mean Shadow and Angel and Daisy," said Seth. "I heard that they're making armor in Farthen Dur," said Monica. The two looked at her. "Linnea'll know."
"Linnea?" asked Caleb. "You think she can help us with this dragon slayer problem?" asked Monica. Seth nodded. "Ok. We'll go to Farthen Dur," said Caleb. "Hadn't been there in eight years," said Caleb. "Wait, how are we goona' get there and we got Sabrina and Manny?" asked Angelica. Caleb thought. "Manny would throw a fit if he's in his carriage for so long," thought Caleb. "Not to mention Sabrina," thought Seth. "Well we have to get there on dragon, unless you wanna' go by sea," said Caleb. "And risk being attacked by a Nidhwal? I don't think so," said Monica. "Then that settles it. We'll put the babies in their carriages, strap them to the saddles with their bodies turned to us, and we'll have to put some wards on them to protect them from the wind," said Caleb. "Cool. When do we leave?" asked Angelica. "We could leave now," said Monica. "Heck no. I just got my two of my favorite girls back today," said Seth. "Well then tomorrow," said Caleb. "Deal," thought Shadow. Seth grunted at him. Shadow growled back.
Linnea was back at the library in the restricted section, she had been put on full rider work and had her students, assistant, and vassal running errends. She poured over scrolls on dauthdart. The documents were highly classified and with good reason. One contained the spells needed to make one, by looking into the weapon's creation one could destroy them. The spells were complex. It'd take a master spell caster to make one... Every magic user of the needed caliber was on record and accounted for. Linnea was thinking an unknown shade was behind it. Linnea couldn't fight a shade of any caliber alone. She could however track one down and keep track of it. The scrolls she read had wards preventing someone from reading over the shoulder or scrying them. Linnea reported her conclusion about a shade to Eragon. She then went to research shades. Before she started casting the tracking spells. Once cast Linnea would know the shade's exact location. Linnea had created the spell herself to track enemy spellcasters during the post Gallbatorix chaos and during the Chinese Dragon war. Untraceable and undetectable but very draining. Linnea might have to spend the majority of her time in bed. Without her lover to cuddle among other more indecent things with...
"I'm fine," thought Aphelia. "It's just that I think you're related to my deceased ex-mate's Rider," thought Aphelia. "And that your dragon Gemma might be the daughter of my cousin Wolfsbayne," thought Aphelia. Jubilee got up. "You said she's across the hall?" he asked. "Yes," thought Aphelia. Jubilee walked out of the room. Aphelia got out of the window and walked around to another window. Jubilee entered the room. Gemma was asleep. "Gemma?" he asked. Aphelia watched as Gemma woke up. She hummed and nuzzled Jubilee. Jubilee smiled and rubbed her head. "How are you?" asked Gemma. "I'm fine. You?" asked Jubilee. "Fantastic," thought Gemma. "This is Aphelia," said Jubilee. Gemma turned to see the gold and red dragon. Aphelia smiled. "Hello there. My name is Aphelia, mother of Aiden, mate of Thorn, and cousin of Wolfsbayne," she thought. "Nice to meet you," thought Gemma. Aphelia nodded. "We must talk, now," thought Aphelia. "Ok," said Jubilee. The three left the room and walked towards the courtyard.
"Alright. We'll leave tomorrow morning," said Seth. He went into the house. Seth made food for everyone. Caleb, Angelica, and Monica came in to eat. Angelica fed Sabrina while Monica fed Manny. "I love this," said Seth. "What?" asked Monica. "That us four have settled down, found a home, made a family, and we still keep in touch," said Seth, sipping on his coffee. "Oh yeah," said Caleb. "I only wish my dad could've stayed alive like mom is now," said Seth. "How is she?" asked Caleb. "Fine. She called me yesterday saying she and Collins are at the museum," said Seth. "So she starting to date your dad, my uncle's, friend huh?" asked Caleb. Seth nodded. They all then heard a roar, causing Sabrina and Manny to cry. "Outside! You two stay in here," said Seth to Angelica and Monica. Seth and Caleb ran out in the back with Deyja and Oakmar. Shadow and Vinezilla were growling and roaring. Angel and Daisy were guarding the house. "What is it?" asked Seth. The two looked up to see an orange dragon approaching. "Oh."
Caleb saw the orange dragon heading towards them. The dragon looked like Aro, but it wasn't him. Aro was way bigger and more muscular. This orange dragon was a male, but younger, about a month or two. On his back was a girl. The girl was unconscious though. "My Rider, she has been injured!" the dragon yelled with his mind. Caleb looked at Vinezilla. Vinezilla looked at him and the two nodded. "Got dang slayers," said Seth. Shadow and Vinezilla flew up to the dragon. The female Rider fell off his back. "Makayla!" he yelled with his mind. Shadow and Vinezilla missed her. Caleb then saw Seth zoom ahead and sheath Deyja, catching the girl and landing perfectly on his feet. "Nice one!" exclaimed Caleb. The orange dragon let out a sigh of relief and then fainted. Vinezilla caught him. They landed and brought the dragon over to the house. Seth lied the girl on the bench with a pillow under her head. Angelica and Monica came out. "Who is that?" asked Monica. "An ambushed Rider," said Caleb. "That's her dragon there."
Linnea was walking with Itachi on a rare break. Linnea had started to track the shade but the spells were slow and difficult to cast. Linnea could only catch the equivalent of radar blips of the shade. She was mentally tired and her voice raw but she couldn't sleep so she walked. Riders were getting ambushed now so Linnea didn't dare go walking by herself in her condition. Deidara had a date of all things so Linnea had Itachi with her. Linnea's students were going in pairs. Even Eragon didn't go anywhere by himself. When Linnea wore herself out she did turn in for a fitful sleep. She looked gaunt and tired. With little time and appitite she wasn't eating well enough. Arget wasn't eating well himself. Paranoia was getting to them. The pair felt unable to let their guards down enough to eat enough or rest well. Even the ability to gain energy from fire, wind, and water wasn't enough to compensate. Murtugh was even getting worried that Linnea was pushing herself too hard. When she woke up Eragon had decided to track the shade in Linnea's stead for a while to give her a longer rest. Murtugh decided to cast a sleeping spell on Linnea and Arget just to make sure they got some decent sleep. Linnea was scared, shades were what frightened her the most. Not because one might kill her or someone she cared about, but because of a shade's meglomania and what they would do for power...
"Ok," thought Aphelia. "I need to know what happened to you two," she thought. She then looked around. "Wait. Where the heck is Aiden?" she asked. Her son flew from the infirmary and landed next to her. "Sorry, I was eating some hospital food," he thought. Jubilee and Gemma laughed. Aphelia shook her head. "This is my son, Aiden, dragon of Sarah," she thought. "It's nice to meet you," thought Aiden. "You too," thought Jubilee and Gemma. "Now explain," thought Aphelia. Jubilee told of how he and Gemma were on a fly when a Fanghur suddenly leaped from the clouds and a man leaped at them with a new looking dauthdart. He also told of how Gemma was able to kill the man before it even stabbed her. Gemma nodded in approval. When Jubilee finished, Aphelia waas in shock. "These evil scale rippers are eating me up," she growled. "They haven't attacked me or Sarah yet. But I'm afraid if we don't stop them soon, Silan and the next generation of Riders will be in trouble," thought Aiden. "Yes. I do not want to die today."
Seth walked into the house to get a warm, wet rag. Angelica followed him. "Does this Rider have a name?" she asked him. "Yeah. Her dragon yelled out 'Mariah!' when she fell," said Seth. He found a rag and wet it with hot water. He then squeezed it out and grabbed a cold water bottle from the refrigerator. "Do you think we should take her in if she has nowhere else to go?" Angelica asked. Seth stopped. He hadn't thought of that. He turned to Angelica. "We'll see baby," he said, and kissed her on the lips. The two then went outside. Seth placed the rag over Mariah's forehead and placed the water bottle next to the bench. Shadow, Angel, Vinezilla, and Daisy were crowded around the orange dragon. "Come on guys. Let him breathe," said Seth. The dragons dispersed, save for Daisy. She kept looking at the dragon like she hadn't seen him for a long time. "Daisy, what's wrong?" asked Monica. "I....I think I know him," she thought. "You mean you know this dragon?" asked Vinezilla. "I think so," thought Daisy, thinking.
Linnea was being reassigned to Ellesmera, she'd be leaving her most senior students behind. The trip was much quicker since the younger dragons had grown and Arget didn't have to slow down as much. But they only flew at night at higher altitudes to avoid as many people as possible. Less chance of slayers. Ellesmera was the most secure location around. Linnea also had more elemental energies to access there meaning she could track the shade and rest easy. Deidara had to pass the prince and elf customs 101 first though. "This place is beautiful un..." "And it hasn't changed much in hundreds of years... Cept when there's a party..."
