Seth heard the bugle. He then looked at Angelica. She looked at him. "You wanna hold her?" she asked. Seth nodded. Angelica handed the baby to Seth. Seth cradled his daughter. She looked up at him. Her eyes were like his, dark brown. Seth smiled and leaked a tear. The baby touched his cheek and smiled. "Sabrina," he said. Angelica looked at him. "What?" she asked. "She looks like a little Sabrina," said Seth. "If that's what you want to name her, that shall be her name," said Angelica, smiling. Seth smiled and they kissed again. Seth rocked Sabrina again. He kissed her on the forehead and then gave her back to Angelica. Sabrina gave a little a laugh. Seth chuckled and then sat down. He turned on the radio and the song "Mockingbird" by Eminem came on. Angelica smiled and cradled Sabrina. They all closed their eyes as they listened. Shadow and Angel listened through their Riders and hummed. The two were happy that a new Rider had been born. Hopefully Sabrina had the Rider bug in her. Shadow smiled.
When Deidara and Itachi finished Linnea had dozed off Arget supplied an explanation "Tough day at the hospital. Two heart attacks, three check ups, one unnecessary C section, four compound fractures, and this one other doctor who keeps pestering her. A narcissist sociopath who thinks dating her will get him promoted or something." Sakura said "I was only with her half the day and she sure is busy." Sauske looked at Sakura funny and asked "Are you sick or something?" Sakura answered "No why?" Naruto spoke loudly "Cause you'd usually be all over Duck Butt." Sauske bopped the blond on the head "Don't call me that moron!" "Stop calling me a moron and I'll stop calling you Duck Butt!" Linnea had woken up and said "Don't you two even start..." Arget chuckled "Why is it that students arguing always wakes you up?" "Cause they are annoying..." Linnea yawned "That creep won't even leave me alone in my sleep. Delusional jerk... Like I'd even give him the time of day." Sakura said "Good thing tomorrow is our day off." "Not really I still have to show you guys how to take out a dragon slayer, fanghur are the easy part."
Caleb looked at Riley in astonishment. "Are you serious?" he asked with his mind. "Yep," thought Riley. Caleb was surprised. "My little nerd/best friend is now a proud father like me," he thought. Caleb smiled. "I guess Manny jas a future girlfriend," thought Riley. Vinezilla and Gray Matter laughed. "Hey! My son's gonna' be a player just like his pops," thought Caleb. Riley laughed. Vinezilla and Gray Matter landed at the zoo. Caleb and Riley went around, feeding the animals and cleaning enclosures. Vinezilla and Gray Matter burned whatever feces and trash that was left over. Caleb then went to a pay phone and called Seth. "You know those payphones don't work right?" asked Riley as he walked by.. Caleb hung up the phone, embarassed. He then took out his cell phone and headed over to Vinezilla. Vinezilla looked down at him. "Let's go to the sanctuary. I got a friend or two I wanna' see," said Caleb. Vinezilla nodded. "As you wish," he thought. Caleb climbed onto Vinezilla's back and then called Seth. "Go!"
Aphelia, Aiden, and the rest of Aphelia's hatchlings flew off. Since Randy had passed, Sarah had gotten a job as a groomer for dragons and also an animal caretaker. When they arrived, Sarah, Aiden, and Aphelia entered the large building. The rest of the hatchlings flew off to do their own thing. The three arrived at a door. Sarah opened it. She had four dragons waiting to be groomed. "Alright, let's get started," she said. Aphelia nodded. She watched as Sarah went through all four dragons, washing and drying their scales, brushing and flossing their teeth, tending to their wings, and sharpening their claws and spikes. "You have a nice job," thought Aphelia. "I know. Silan said he wanted to do what I am doing or be a black smith," said Sarah. Aiden chuckled. "The way he's behaving in school, he'll be an officer or become part of the army, navy, or air force," thought Aiden. Aphelia laughed as well. "He told you that?" asked Sarah. "No, but he said it would be a little fun," thought Aiden. Sarah nodded.
Seth felt his cell phone vibrating. He saw that it was Caleb and answered it. "Yo Caleb. I'm sure you heard about the news," said Seth. "About your new daughter? Yeah," said Caleb. "Yep. Her name is Sabrina," said Caleb. "I hope she becomes a Rider just like me and her mother," said Seth. "I hope Manny get's a 'girlfriend' if you know what I mean," said Caleb. Seth laughed. "It's possible," said Seth. "Listen, I'll have to come in tomorrow. My baby is finally here and I won't spend the whole day without her and my wife and dragon," said Seth. "Well, you're the manager," said Caleb. The two then hung up. The news came on. Seth and Angelica looked up at the TV. Seth turned off the radio. Angelica fed Sabrina. "A Rider and his dragon were killed today," said the newsman. "Police say the Rider, an old man named Conner Clemmingtime, and his golden female dragon Aleria, was slain today and found two hours later near the forest outside of their vacation spot in the bahamas," said a woman. Seth gaped. "Oh no."
Caleb and Vinezilla flew towards the sancutary after Caleb finished talking with Seth. Vinezilla arrived five minutes later. He landed in the sanctuary, which was five acres wide. Caleb climbed down from his dragon and looked around. He then tapped Vinezilla on the lg saying, "Call him." Vinezilla nodded and let loose a mighty roar. Birds and deer fled. Vinezilla shook himself. "He heard that I bet," thought Vinezilla. Caleb chuckled. A few minutes later, the bushes rustled. Caleb turned to his left with Vinezilla. Their eyes widened and smiles appeared on their faces as a black, male Shrrg, the size of a Clydesdale horse, made his way out of the forest. His amber eyes focused on Caleb and Vinezilla. The wolf's ears went back and he snarled. His fur stood up on end and his tail curved into the air. "Whoa! It's us Coal, Caleb and Vinezilla," said Caleb, holding his hands out. Vinezilla let out a large growl, silencing the Shrrg. Coal then barked happily and ran over to them. He tackled Caleb and licked him.
Aphelia left Sarah's building. She flew into the air. A large red dragon flew up to her and tackled her. The two dragons headed towards the ground. They crashed into an abondoned shack. Aphelia roared and shook herself. The red dragon looked at her and roared back. "Who are you?" asked Aphelia. Aphelia then saw that it was not a dragon. It was in fact a red Fanghur. "How the hellabit are you red?" asked Aphelia. "Because I wanted him red," said a voice. Aphelia whirled around with a growl and saw a man with a weapon in his hand. "You see this, dragon? This is a Dautheart," said the man. "We were able to expand it or the blade at least so it could be as long as a sword's," said the man. He then looked at her. "Now you die," he said. The red Fanghur roared and attacked Aphelia's mind with a mental attack. Aphelia, being a little larger than the Fanghur, was able to hold back the mental attack. The man ran at her with the new dautheart. "Die!" yelled the slayer. Aphelia roared and released a torrent of flames.
"Mr. Clemmingtime's dead?" asked Seth. He looked at Angelica, who was also stunned. "I guess Keisha and Ramses already know," she said. "I can't believe it though," said Seth. "Mr. Clemmingtime was a good man," he said. "Now he's gone," said Seth. Angelica stopped feeding Sabrina, who had fallen asleep, and lied Sabrina in a small bed that the doctors had brought. She then scooted over to Seth and wrapped her arms around him. She then kissed him on the neck and the cheek. Seth met her lips with his. "It's gonna be alright," she said. "We'll go to his funeral and comfort Keisha and Ramses," she said. Seth nodded. He then turned to her. "You always have your ways of keeping me calm," he said. Angelica smiled and the two kissed. Seth then informed Shadow and Angel of what happened. Shadow and Angel let out a loud wail and keened over Aleria's death. "Ramses will be sad and devastated," thought Shadow. Seth and Shadow left the hospital, with the doctors saying that Angelica had to stay for four days with Sabrina.
"Get off of me Coal," chuckled Caleb. Coal whimpered happily and wagged his tail. He then gott off of Caleb and play bowed. Caleb stood up and dusted himself off. "You're looking stronger and healthier than ever," said Caleb. Suddenly, several more Shrrgs emerged from the trees. Two were brown, two were gray, one was red-orange, and one was white. Coal turned to them and then looked back at Caleb. "Ah, so you DO have a pack," said Caleb. He looked up at Vinezilla. "You owe me Vine," he thought. Vinezilla snorted, causing the other wolves to back up a bit. Coal flicked his tail. He then stomped his paw and growled. The white one, a female Shrrg, came over to him. The two nuzzled. Caleb saw that she was pregnant. "And you're going to be a father," said Coal. "Ah. Eight years old and still got it," said Caleb. He and Vinezilla socialized with the pack and then the two left. As they flew, Caleb saw a green and brown blur under them. "What was that?" he asked. "I think it was a Fanghur," thought Vinezilla.
As the gold and red flames leaped at the dragon slayer, who dodged them, Apheliia whirled on the Fanghur. Her jaws closed on the back of its head and she began to crush it. The Fanghur roared in agony. The dragon slayer leaped at Aphelia, and with the new dautheart, stabbed her in the leg. Aphelia roared in pain. The Fanghur sceased its chance and attacked her chest. The Fanghur ripped at her scales and its jaws closed on her left wing. "No!" yelled Aphelia, with her mind. Gold and red flames shot from her mouth again, this time bathing the Fanghur. Aphelia felt the dragon slayer yank out the weapon, causing her to roar in pain again. Aphelia swung her mighty tail, missing the nimble dragon slayer by a hair. She back flipped over the Fanghur and bathed it again in flames. The Fanghur screamed. The dragon slayer threw the dautheart like a spear. Aphelia swiped at it, only missing it by a few inches. The deadly weapon stabbed her in the shoulder. Aphelia cried in agony. She stumbled back, dazed and in pain.
Linnea heard first the news then the roar. She found Aphilia, the fanghur, the slayer, and the dauthdart. Linnea cloaked herself with an invisibility spell. Then she struck the slayer silently. All she told Aphilia was 'act like you planned that.' Thorn might kill her for playing this 'game' with his mate. It confused the slayer and made him loosen his grip on his weapon. When Linnea struck again she aimed for the dauthdart and knocked it away before showing the slayer the last thing he'd ever see... her. Linnea beheaded the man with Hope. The fanghur lay dead by Aphilia's paw. When Thorn arrived he knocked Linnea down growling"Why did you not call me to defend my mate?" Linnea pointed to the dauthdart "You would have been in the same danger she was and still is in. One dragon wounded by a dauthdart is bad enough two with multiple wounds inflicted by a dauthdart I might not be able to save. Besides I stood a better chance against her assailent on my own." Thorn let the small rider up still angry and demanding that Linnea heal his mate. "Stop growling at me it's distracting and uncalled for." Linnea tended the wound that was bleeding the most the shoulder, after placing wards against bleeding out. She had to use small spells since the magic of the weapon prevented her from using more complex spells. Arget brought Sakura who assisted by tending the wing and chest injuries which were the least complicated injuries. Arget was her second set of eyes "Shoulder wound hit an artery... Linnea. I'll check the leg wound." Sakura's dragon Chika examined the wound as well trying to mimic Arget. Arget informed Linnea that the leg injury was muscle damage. It took an hour and Aphilia was weakened by the bloodloss. She'd have to walk to the dragonhold. Arget couldn't help her she was too heavy. Thorn walked his mate to the dragonhold. It was safer than their lair. Linnea was a little weak herself after that session but she grabbed the dauthdart to examine later. The blood soaked the ground making it mucky and Linnea's steps more difficult. Arget picked his rider up and put her on his back. Sakura had more energy and took the dauthdart and asked what it was. Linnea explained "It is a weapon designed to slay dragons. Invented during the dragon elf war, spells made it all the more deadly. They say those things used to make it rain blood. The knowledge of how to make them was supposedly forgotten and very few remained in private collections. Someone rediscovered how to make Dauthdart... We need dragon armor..."
Seth arrived at home. He sat down and sighed. He then thought about the years to come. He and Angelica would be raising a baby. Seth then thought about Mr. Clemmingtime and Aleria, Sultan's mate and Ramses's sire. Seth called Keisha, who was already sobbing. "I'm sorry about your grandfather," said Seth. "Thank you. Ramses is heartbroken," said Keisha. After a small conversation, Seth hung up. He then went outside and saw Shadow watching his hatchlings spar. "Shadow, where's Angel?" asked Seth. "Remember, she stayed," thought Shadow. "Oh yeah," said Seth. Seth sat down and watched the other dragons spar. He couldn't wait for his wife and daughter to come home. He had a surprise in mind. Seth then got up, unsheathed Deyja, and used a tree as a dummy. He mangled the tree a bit and sighed. He sheathed Deyja, got dressed, and went on a fly with Shadow. The two soared through the air. Seth then saw a green spec in the distance. "Is that who I think it is?" asked Seth. "I believe so," thought Shadow. Shadow flew.
Caleb saw that it was in fact a Fanghur. Someone, however, was riding it. "Hey! How'd you train that Fanghur to let you ride it?" asked Caleb. The rider, who was a man, looked at him, but said not a word. The Fanghur growled and roared and Caleb and Vinezilla felt a mental attack hit their minds. Caleb, being a strong magician, blocked the attack. Same with Vinezilla. The Fanghur then advanced. It bit down on Vinezilla's open shoulder, causing Vinezilla to roar in pain. "No!" yelled Caleb. He drew Oakmar as the man on the Fanghur drew a sword as well. But it wasn't a sword. It was an expanded dauthdart made to look like a sword. Caleb's eyes widened. He then struck forward. The sword and dauthdart collided. Vinezilla was still locked on by the Fanghur. Caleb yelled and drove Oakmar into the Fanghur's side. The animal yelled out. Vinezilla ceased his chance and sent a torrent of emerald flames in the Fanghur's face. Caleb and the now dragon slayer sparred in the sky. Caleb then saw a black dot coming.
Aphelia was thankful to Linnea for saving her. She walked with Thorn. "What happened?" he asked. "Is it not obvious? I was knocked out of the sky by that putrid Fanghur," growled Aphelia. "I realize that. Why didn't you contact me for help?" asked Thorn. "Because if I TRIED to do that, then that Fanghur's mental attack would've caused my death," snapped Aphelia. Thorn said so no more. The two walked in silence. Thorn then growled and sent a ray of red flames at the ground in front of him, scorching the land. Aphelia looked at him. "First those retchid Dungeon People and Lizards, now these putrid dragon slayers and their Fanghur. What is the world coming too?!" he yelled with his mind. Aphelia could feel the rage rising in Thorn. She nuzzled him, just to calm him. Thorn calmed a bit. "The good thing is, I'm alive," she thought. Thorn smiled. Aphelia did too. Soon, they arrived at the temple. Saphira and Firnen were waiting in front of the temple with Aiden. Eragon, Arya, Murtagh, and Sarah were waiting.
