Linnea was trying to figure out how and why slayers now controled wind vipers. She'd sent Deidara to do some recon in the old tunnels. This time with more confidence since he'd had prior training in such situations. By her orders preserving his own life and those of any ally to the riders would take priority over the mission. She did not want another dead vassal. Particularly this one he was too valuable to risk. Two campaigns depended on Deidara's help. Linnea remained very close to Arget most of the time. The amulet protecting her mind from attack may have extended to Arget but slayers knew the weakpoints of dragons too well for her to risk not being there. The rider held the advantage against a slayer. Linnea was also overseeing the production of the new dragon armor. She and Arget were testing designs for effectiveness against dauthdart both new and old. A group of healers were on standby but Linnea's secondary wards were proving effective. Linnea and Arget were the only ones crazy enough to do this. Eragon was watching them carefully. The dwarven clan of Fanghur were surpisingly doing the smithing of the armor. Their clan head had stated "The enslavement of the wind vipers is an abomanation and must be stopped at all costs. Durgamest Fanghur will do all we can to help stop this and save our clan's symbol." Itachi and Akane were with Linnea's students going over slayer safety rules. Murtugh was tightening security around every city with a rider's outpost. Deidara returned during one of Linnea's testing sessions and reported "They're using some harsh methods to train the fanghur un. The dwarves will not be happy." Linnea snickered "They're already ticked off. Take some time off, we'll do some tests, then next up is sabatoge." "In short making art." "Pyrotechnic art yes. But we have to get the wind vipers out first before you make your art." Deidara rubbed his hands together "This is gonna be a blast."

Seth was in the waiting room at the hospital. Angelica then came walking out, Sabrina in a baby carriage. "Finally. My favorite girls in the world," said Seth. He leaped up from his seat and embraced his wife. The two shared a kiss. Seth then kissed his sleeping daughter. The three then left the hospital. Shadow and Angel were waiting outside, their saddles ready. "I got an idea on how we're flying back with Sabrina," said Seth. A few minutes later, they were in the air, Seth on Shadow, and Angelica on Angel, with Sabrina's baby carriage strapped down on the saddle. A blanket was covering the top of the carriage, shielding Sabrina from any wind. Angelica looked down at the carriage from time to time. When they arrived at home, Shadow landed and Seth leaped from his back. Angel landed and Seth was on her back quickly. He helped unstrap Sabrina and carried Angelica and Sabrina both down. They entered the house. Seth and Angelica ducked as a sword slashed the air where they had been. Seth quickly drew Deyja.

The black dot Caleb had saw was actually another Rider. It was a gray dragon. Gray Matter had arrived with Riley. Riley had drawn Cloud Rage, his sword. Together, the two took down the Fanghur and dragon slayer. Four days later, Caleb was at home, watching Manny while Monica and Daisy were at the store. Manny was sitting in Caleb's lap, playing with a toy. Caleb smiled and looked back at the TV. He then began to think about the days when he was a kid. He remembered the day when Vinezilla hatched for him. He also remembered the day when Vinezilla first flew and when Caleb got Oakmar. Caleb then got up with Manny and went outside. Vinezilla was asleep in the tree house. Caleb placed Manny next to the tree. "Watch daddy," said Caleb. Manny looked up at him. Caleb drew Oakmar and attacked another tree. Oakmar sliced and hacked at the bark. Caleb then stabbed forward, allowing Oakmar to pierce through the bark. Caleb snatched out Oakmar. He then looked at the bark and smiled. He cut the bark and made a picture.

Aphelia was hunting in the forest. "As big as I am I must eat a whole herd of deer," she thought. "Not neccessary," thought Aiden. She looked back to see him flying towards her. "Follow me to the ocean," he thought. Aphelia leaped into the sky. She followed her son to the ocean. "Now that you're this large, the perfect meal for you would be a whale," thought Aiden. Aphelia looked at him. "You're right, but what about the Nidhwal?" she asked. "There are none that are as big as you mother," thought Aiden. Aphelia nodded and looked at the water. She inhaled and exhaled. Aphelia then roared her might and flew over the water. She scanned the surface. Aphelia saw fish and more fish. She then eyed a whale, ready for breaching. "I see one about to surface," she thought to Aiden. Aphelia flew high into the air. She then dove back down, roaring and spiraling. Aphelia sent a torrent of gold and red flames out of her maw, causing the flames to swirl around her. The whale surfaced. Aphelia growled and slammed the whale.

Shadow and Angel roared as a Fanghur flew at them. Seth stabbed forward with Deyja, feeling Deyja go through the wall. "Get out the house!" yelled Seth to Angelica. Angelica ran out the house with Sabrina. Seth stood in fighting stance and faced his opponent. It was a man. "Why the hell are you in my house?" asked Seth. "To kill you, your wife, and your dragons," said the man. In his hands was a dauthdart. It was expanded to look like a sword. "What the?" Seth asked. He then blocked a blow from the weapon. Seth twisted around and sliced the man in half, using his elf-like strength and speed. The slayer collapsed onto the floor and died. Seth looked outside and watched as Shadow fought with the Fanghur. Angel was guarding Angelica and Sabrina. Seth was about to throw Deyja like a spear at the Fanghur when he realized that the Fanghur looked familiar. "Rippleback!" yelled Seth. The Fanghur turned to him, his irises red. "They're supposed to be brown, not red," thought Seth. He then uttered, "Sleytha".

Caleb had created a picture of him, Monica, Manny, Vinezilla, and Daisy. Manny clapped and giggled. Caleb smiled and sheathed Oakmar. He then picked up Manny and went back into the house. He brushed off the grass on Manny's pants and sat him in his high chair. "Time to eat," said Caleb. He pulled out some food for Manny and fed him. Monica and Daisy returned with groceries. Caleb went out to help Monica. "Tell me again why we don't have a car?" asked Monica. "Because those worthless, mechanical creatures can't fly," thought Daisy. Caleb chuckled. Monica shook her head and kissed Caleb on the lips. When they got inside, Monica was excited to see Manny. "Hi baby!" she exclaimed. Manny giggled and wiggled in his high chair. Monica picked him up and kissed him on the cheek. "Did you two have fun?" she asked Caleb, fiddling with Manny's hand. "Of course. He watched TV with me, watched me use Oakmar on a tree, and I fed him," said Caleb. "When are you going to take him on a ride on Vinezilla?" asked Monica. "Soon."

Aphelia's teeth clamped down on the whale, who was screaming and yelling from being slammed into and burned. The surprised whale was then pulled under water. Aphelia, who was still latched on to the whale, got pulled in too. "Mother!" yelled Aiden with his mind. He flew over the water. Aphelia didn't release her grip. She saw that a Nidhwal had grabbed the whale. "Release the whale now!" Aphelia yelled. The Nidhwal growled and swam at her. Aphelia growled and knocked the Nidhwal back with her spiky tail. The Nidhwal went spiraling back. Aphelia flew out of the water, with the whale still in her jaws. Aiden let out a grunt of relief. Aphelia flew high into the air yelling, "Fly Aiden! Fly!" Aiden, not liking where this was going, sped after her. He was surprised to see that he had dodged the jaws of a massive Nidhwal. "That was close," he thought. Aphelia and Aiden landed on the beach and the two enjoyed the whale meat. "All this for a whale," thought Aphelia. "At least you got a satisfying meal," he thought.

Rippleback fell asleep. Seth breathed heavily. He then walked over to the sleeping Fanghur. "How did you get here?" Seth asked. "And why was he attacking us?" asked Shadow. Angelica came from behind Angel. "What is Ripplebback doing here?" she asked. "I have no clue," said Seth. He then sheathed Deyja and went into the house. Seth dragged out the slayer's body and threw him dowm on the ground. "Brisingr," said Seth, his gedwey ignasia glowing. Black flames engulfed the dead body. Seth then cleaned up the blood on the floor and off the dauthdart sword. He examined it. "How did they manage to extend the blade?" Seth asked. He then thought and wrapped the blade in a cloth and stored it in the garage. Seth went back outside. "You ok?" he asked Angelica. "I'm fine. Me and Sabrina," she said. Seth nodded and kissed her on the lips. He then focused his attention on Rippleback, who had grown. Rippleback was now the size of a truck. "Some how, that man was able to do something to Rippleback's mind," said Seth.

After dinner, Caleb went out to the shed and remembered Riley. He called Riley on his cell phone and asked, "Do you still have that dauthdart?" "Of course," said Riley. "Good. Bring it over tomorrow after work, cool?" asked Caleb. "Ok," said Riley. The two hung up. Caleb then pulled out a chest that was sitting in a nice, warm closet. He opened it and looked down at the bonded eggs for Manny. "I wonder which one will choose him?" asked Caleb, looking at the purple egg and then the light green egg. He then closed the chest back and put it back in the dragon egg tempertured closet. Caleb walked outside and saw Vinezilla. The green dragon was sending a ray of green flames into the air. Caleb smiled. Caleb then went inside. He stopped when he saw Monica cradling Manny. Manny had fallen asleep and Monica was singing him a lullaby. Caleb smiled and walked into the living room. He turned on the TV and then thought about visiting Seth. "Honey," he whispered to Monica. Monica looked at him. "Do ya want go visit Seth?"

Aphelia and Aiden were finishing up the whale when they both looked into the sky. A roar had erupted from the clouds. "It better not be another Fanghur," growled Aphelia. "No mother, that was a dragon," thought Aiden. They suddenly saw a purple dragon emerge from the clouds. It was a female. She looked like she was only a month old. On her back was a Rider. But the Rider looked beaten up. Blood was on him. "Oh my stars and banners," thought Aphelia. The female, purple dragon looked down at them. "I need help! My Rider and I have been attacked!" she yelled with her mind. Aphelia and Aiden flew into the air. Aiden caught the Rider as he fell from his dragon's back. Aphelia caught the female purple dragon, who had a few wounds on her. Both Rider and dragon fainted in their savior's arms. Aphelia and Aiden looked at each other. "Let's get them back to Farthen Dur," thought Aphelia. "Right," thought Aiden. The two flew back to Farthen Dur, leaving the bony carcass of the whale for scavengers. The two then arrived.

Linnea received the injured rider and started tending to her injuries without a word. Sakura was helping with the injuries she could handle, the two of them had the third rider patched up in no time. Linnea asked what had happened and it turns out that the trainee had been ambushed by someone. Her dragon had killed the assailant. Deidara sat there silently holding the dauthdart in his hands examining it. Linnea's notes on the structural flaws of the armor designs were sitting on a desk nearby. Arget had bruises that were being tended to by one of the other healers. Aphilia might be upset with the fact that the dauthdart that almost killed her hadn't been destroyed yet. However it was nessisary to keep the dang thing for testing. Linnea mentioned this fact to the red and golden she dragon as to avoid an upset. As it was they were close to perfecting the armor. Linnea was going to have Arget's armor redone with the modifications when they had it right.

Seth was sitting by Rippleback. Angelica was sitting on a bench in front of him, Sabrina in her arms. Seth and Angelica were looking at each other. "You're so beautiful," said Seth. Angelica giggled and smiled. "And you're so handsome," she said, sweetly. Seth chuckled. Rippleback then stirred. Seth leaped to his feet. He casted his mind out towards Rippleback's. "Ok Rip. I know you remember me," thought Seth. Rippleback woke up. His irises were still red. "You have to remember me," thought Seth. The Fanghur growled, causing Shadow and Angel to growl as well. Angelica readied to run with Sabrina. Seth uttered a few words. Rippleback began to moan and wiggle. He then grabbed his head and growled. "Try to remember!" Seth yelled with his mind. Rippleback suddenly stopped. He opened his eyes. His irises were now brown. Rippleback shook his head and looked at Seth. Rippleback let out a joyful bugle and licked Seth's face. Everyone relaxed. "Now, why were you with that man?" asked Seth. Rippleback talked his way.

"I'd love to visit the new parents," said Monica, smiling. Caleb nodded. He got Vinezilla and Daisy ready. Then, he picked up Manny while Monica climbed onto Daisy's back. Caleb handed Manny to her, but she refused. "Fly with your son," she said. Caleb nodded and went over to Vinezilla. He climbed up Vinezilla with Manny. Caleb placed Manny in front of him on the saddle and strapped Manny to his stomach. "Just in case the wind rips you away from me," said Caleb. He then placed a little motorcycle helmet over Manny's head. Monica laughed. Caleb chuckled. Caleb strapped himself in and the two dragons flew into the air. They flew side by side. As they neared Seth's house, Caleb made sure Manny was still in front of him. The little one year old bobbed his head and clapped, enjoying the fly. Vinezilla and Daisy then landed in Seth's backyard. Shadow and Angel greeted them. Caleb saw Seth with a surprising Rippleback, Angelica, and their baby. Caleb unstrapped Manny and himself. He then picked up Manny, going down.

Linnea preferred to live in the dragon hold in Farthen Dur the only neighbor noises she had to put up with came from dragons. Which was music to her ears. Linnea had the day off and was taking it easy and going over some of her notes on the dragon armor improvements. Arget was hunting and being careful about it so it was just her in the cave. Someone knocked on the entrance, it was Hiverda and her father. "Come in, How can I help you?" "You are working on dragon armor, I'd like to offer my services." Hiverda looked a little embarrassed. "Durgamest Fanghur are in charge of the smith work on the project at the moment. But I think I need a second opinion on these notes I took on the different alloys, I'm a novice metallurgist at best so I don't know much here." Hiverda's father commented "I know bright steel conducts magic and chakra for that matter very well. It's also strong enough to handle the damage." "But it's too rare to be implimented here. We need something strong enough to handle the damage from physical blows, conducts magic well, and is still light enough for a dragon to fly with." "Think we should go to the library?" Sounds like a wise idea. Arget entered the cave with blood on his face from his kill and a gash on his side. "Nagra again? I told you to leave those things alone..." "I wasn't hunting alone this time Akane, Crow, Chika and Kin were with me." "Ah well let's get your face cleaned before we head to the library to do some additional research on metal alloys." Linnea cleaned Arget's face and they went to the library. There were cushions for dragons to lay on and Linnea had called Deidara in. "I know this sounds stupid but can you turn pages in some books for Arget." "Dragons can read? I had no idea un." "I'm not going to make you read anything you don't want to, but Arget and I are looking something up concerning the dragon armor." Itachi arrived with Akane and gestured to the red dragon. "She wanted to read some poetry. Akane likes doing that after she eats for some reason." Linnea sighed "I'm doing research on metal alloys for the armor project. I've got Deidara turning pages for Arget. Arget reads faster than I do so I'm getting him the books." Glader came walking in the library and flopped down on a cushion. Good thing he didn't snore. Kin was right behind him with Naruto. "Erbithal I heard you're doing research thought I could help." Linnea knew about Naruto's shadow clone thing and smiled "Thanks, it'll be a bit boring though. Metal alloys, looking for something..." Linnea gave Naruto the factors she was looking for and poof multiple Naruto clones started looking. Linnea and Hiverda's father joined them. They spent the whole day in the library. The real Naruto was goofing off while his clones were hard at work. By day's end they found a suitible alloy. Linnea memorised the compisition to tell the smiths to try using next. It was cheap, conducted magic well, strong and light. "Thanks for the help everyone." The whole group left the library after Naruto's clones put the books back. Linnea informed the head smith of the alloy they'd be trying next and went back to her cave for a good night's sleep. They were going to make it but they still had work to do.   

Aphelia and Aiden entered the infirmary. The Rider, who was a boy that looked about fifteen or sixteen, was taken into a room. His dragon was taken into another room. Aphelia flew out of the infirmary and found a back entrance with Aiden. "You check on his dragon and I'll check on the Rider," she thought. Aiden nodded and ran ahead. Aphelia arrived at the Rider's room. After the doctors and nurses finished with him, they left. Aphelia stuck her head through the window. The Rider woke up. He grabbed his head and looked around. "Gemma! Where's Gemma?!" he yelled. "She's fine. Your dragon is in the room across from you," thought Aphelia. The Rider jumped and yelled as he saw Aphelia. "Whoa! Who are you?" he asked. "I am Aphelia. My son and I rescued you two before you fell in the ocean," thought Aphelia. The Rider calmed. Aphelia then saw a weapon at his side. "You have a sword. Does Gemma know how to breathe fire yet?" she asked. The Rider looked at the weapon and said, "No." "What? How did you obtain THAT?"

Takes place in any continent: Africa, Alagaesia, Asia, Australia, North America, or South America. It's summer time, a dragon's strongest time.
Eight years have passed since the Dragon Riders fought and defeated the Dungeon People and Lizards. Today, peace, love, and happiness is spreading through the land. But a new threat has risen. Long ago, Eragon defeated Galbatorix. Eight years ago, the Dungeon People arose and began attacking. Thanks to to the Chosen Ones, their swords, dragons, and allies, the Dungeon People and Lizards were eradicated from the land. Before their deaths, the Dungeon People made a pact with the dragon slayers. Now the slayers are doing the Dungeon People's failed mission. They must be stopped before time runs out.
