Saffies bucket didn't fill with water, but she heard something fill with water. The tired leopard stalked out of the indoor enclosure, not looking at the lifeless body of Satire as she went to the artificial water hole, crouching next to it, lapping the water up thirstily, the other leopards joining her. She heard the apes walk to the enclosure, peering in. "Ones dead. Old one. We're running low on food, she'll do for the crocs meat." One said, the other nodding in agreement, getting his gear. As soon as they came into the enclosure, Saffie climbed up the tree hastily, watching them quietly as the leopards tried to protect Satires body. After they had all been tranquillised, the apes took Satires body away, Saffie yowling sadly, not knowing what to do.
As the sun rose, so did Fango. Fango looked around. "Same as always..." Fango stretched and yawned. "Do any of you remember when we had such bigger living spaces. Now they are so much smaller.." Fango trotted over to her beloved outcropping. Barely any water dripped from the hole at the top. She sighed. Her ears perked up at the sound of the humans. She padded over to the interaction window, she looked across, some humans were picking up the elder leopard, carrying it inside. The canine growled. She heard a door open and turned around. A chunk of rotten meat was thrown into the cage. As the zookeeper left, Fango barked and growled.

The white croc was sleeping in peace near the edge of the pond water in his enclosure, scratch that, had been sleeping in peace until the loud obnoxious sound of cats crying in sorrow disturbed the peace of the large sleeping reptile. His eyes opened and narrowed as he shifted from his position. The crying leopards made him agitated with each second before he gave a low gutteral growl.

The smell of fresh meat quickly drew his attention away from the leopards as a freshly large skinned carcass was tossed inside his enclosure. It landed near the pond with a thud, Daviel turned and moved towards the carcass with the look of hunger in his eyes. The scent from the meat also made him curious when he smelled the scent of cat coming from it.

It did not take him long to put two and two together as he began to feast upon the fresh meat. He had known the now dead leopard ever since she had been brought to this death trap, having held a few conversations with her, none which were pleasant. He couldn't help but give a gutteral chuckle, finding it ironic that she was free now, but yet her body was his food to eat. The loud snap of his jaws could be heard as he continued to feast upon his meal.

Saffie stayed in the tree, watching the other unconscious leopards as they slept off the tranquillisers. The young leopard closed her tired amber eyes. She wanted to go home, wherever that was. Saffie caught the scent of the fresh meat, it was nothing like the sticky, rotten scent of the carcasses they would get. Saffie stood up on the tree, climbing higher until she could see where the scent was coming from. The sight angered and upset her, now she could see why Satire was never a fan of reptiles. The young leopard climbed down the tree, quick enough that she stumbled over herself once on the ground. She raced to the fence, clashing with it, followed by a thunderous roar. "Stop it!" She hissed, her claws flexing to lock onto the fence. "That's one of us! You can't!" Saffie yowled, quickly backing up when the mindless apes ran to her enclosure with the large sticks. Saffe kept her head down submissively as she backed away, darting up into the cover if the slanted tree.

Daviel paused only for a moment when he heard the female leopard shouting at him to stop. He gave a partial glance at the direction of the leopard, snapping his jaws shut on a chunk of flesh before swallowing it. This carcass won't last very long, but munching on the bones would be good enough to pass the time for him.

When he ate enough to sustain him, the white croc moved over to the pond, sliding into the cool dirty water to feel refreshed. The pond was deep and large enough for him to swim around in, but it still felt small to him. He swam by the long tunnel he had dug out, making sure it had not caved in or had been blocked by those weak humans. It was times like these that he was glad that the water was too dirty to see anything. Daviel finally resurfaced and just lazily floated in the water as the sun began to rise high in the blue sky, it's right rays quickly heating up the day.

Saffie hissed, slightly. "Stupid lizard." She snarled, her claws digging into the branch. "Baring the accessories of captivity." She taunted, her amber eyes on the rings. "Your just a pet." She snarled, Saffie climbed down from the tree when the apes had gone, laying in the sun. The leopards began to wake, yowling tiredly before crawling inside, Saffie watching them in curiosity. She said on her side, letting the sun heat her fur as she closed her eyes, daydreaming of what Africa would be like. Without the hairless apes. Wide open spaces, and fresh food, nice water. Saffie smiled a little in her small daydream. Her smile faded when she opened her eyes, back to the cages.
Although Fango could not see the crocodile that was completely hostile, she could still tell that there was some sort of argument going on, especially with her big ears. Fango shook her splotched pelt, her ears wiggling and shaking side to side in a funny way. Fango watched as people walked by here and there, tapping on the glass, laughing, eating, eh. In the distance, Fango could hear the annoying, obnoxious, rude and loud pigeons. The sound of cars, and the smell of food.  The canine looked around. "Im sooo bored..." she whined. She went up to the big glass 'wall' and pressed her front paws up against it. The children of the 'hairless apes' said awww. And, not to mention, one thing almost all animals hated, flash photography. Fango yelped and fell back as everything turned white. She wobbled back up to four legs, shaking her head. Everything was spinning..

Daviel ignored the words of the leopard but his anger bubbled inside him, causing him to make a mental note to rip apart the overgrown cat once he was free from this prison. His attention was drawn to the humans crowding around the gate to his enclosure, the bright flashes they made only increased his anger. His anger was short lived however as he saw one of the zookeepers walk onto the wooden platform that stood above his enclosure on the right.

The zookeeper held a long stick in his hand, holding it out as a piece of meat that was tied to the stick with a thin length of rope dangled above the water. It was right above his head, just a couple feet in the air, but Daviel knew better as he disappeared beneath the murky water. The first time the old zookeepers had done this the croc reacted by thrusting himself out of the water and grabbing the meat in his powerful jaws. But over time he realized it was only to entertain the humans watching him and he ceased falling for their tricks.

Suddenly he bursted out from the water and attacked the gate, slamming against it as his jaws snapped at the now terrified humans. "GO AWAY!"

Saffie saw the small crowd around her enclosure, getting up and walking to the fence, laying a few metres away, glancing around as she panted under the heat of the sun, a few apes "ooo" and "ah"-ing at her, taking pictures on their camera phones. Saffie rested her head on the ground, her amber eyes watching them curiously. She stood, walking to the fence. She knew better than to attack, having learnt her lesson the first time. Instead, she rubbed her cheek against the wire fence, purring slightly, which made the apes gasp, admiring the "cute" display she was putting on. It worked as she was still quite young. Saffie raised up on her hind legs, holding the fence with her claws. It was a new tactic she was trying out. Whether it would work, she didn't know.
Once Fango's world returned to normal, she decided not to do anything. The children of the creppy apes of a human would always say something like, "Aww a puppy!" or "Mommy, mommy, I want the doggy!" Although Fango didn't understand their words, she could understand the word 'aww' and 'puppy' Fango pelt began to itch, so she begab rolling in her rocky, sandy enclosure. If only there was grass. Fango used to act cute, but now, it just didn't fell right, even though she is still pretty much a puppy herself at 1 year old. She stood back up, hearing something she dreaded. "Aww, it's a little lost puppy doggy that is trapped..." cooed a pigeon. Fango whipped around jumping as high as she could while barking at the bee-brained chicken of a pigeon. "You better get your wings and tail feathers out of here before I come up there and eat you like I did to the rest of your friends!" she barked.
(It's okay, I am not ridiculous. I got a fail for Zipp) Zipp continued digging, her mouth as dry as the sand. Suddenly, her paws hit something hard. It was gray, and round. And for the most part, it was big. It was impossible to dig through, she couldn't dig any deeper. She growled to Victoria," We can't go deeper." Victoria's head popped in the hole and she whined, " What do you-" Then she saw it. "Ooooh" Zipp went out of the hole and looked at the humans. She growled and leaped at the glass, angry. Angry about them, their things, their crazy ideas, and their horrible cage. She landed inches from the glass and she bared her teeth at the youngest human and growled as loud as she can. The little thing started crying and one of the humans walked away from the exhibit, bringing the little human with it. The humans looked surprised, they probably had never heard such a small fox make such a loud noise. Suddenly, all the humans clapped their paws and made loud noises. Darn it, she thought, they are more ridiculous than she thought. Zipp spun around and ran to the back of her cage.

Scaring humans usually made the reptile happy as he slowly moved back over to the carcass he had been previously feasting on. He quickly resumed eating, tearing pieces of the meat off in a few death rolls before swallowing them, his powerful jaws snapping loudly once again. While he ate, Daviel had failed to notice a small crowd of people that slowly began to gather near the gate, watching him eat. Some taking pictures or drawing the ferocious croc as he ate.

Once the crowd had left, a teenager stood by, silently watching as a mischeivious look spread across his face. In less than a minute the boy had climbed over the gate, making sure no one was watching, before landing on the soft grass with a thud. This did not escape Daviel, having caught a few glimpes of the boy as he continued eating, but remained where he was. After he had finished, the white croc moved away from what was left of his meal and stayed completely motionless, his jaws opened wide and his eyes closed shut. Now all he had to do was wait.

Fango whined and clawed at her ears. The sound of loud yells and clapping was unbearable. As Fango was about to 'tear her own ears off', she heard a sound she would always make, but hated it when humans did it to her. She looked up, the hairless apes were laughing at her. Just as she was about to curl her mouth into a snarl, she remembered something. Doing that would most likely end in getting something sharp shot into your fur, then falling asleep. Although it never happened to her, she had seen other animals go through that. Fango padded over to the waterfall outcropping, waiting for the water.

The boy had moved closer and closer to the "sleeping" croc, hand reached out in attempt to hit the croc on the nose. However Daviel had planned to attack once the human was close enough. He could practically feel the human's presence touching his scaly skin, making the croc feel impatient as he waited.

Suddenly, a dart flew out from almost nowhere and hit the croc in the mouth. Daviel reacted by swinging his head around, his jaws slamming shut and opening repeatedly. Another dart hit the white croc in the jaw, causing Daviel to become slow and sluggish with each second. He slowly stopped moving, his body completely still. His heartbeat was slow and steady as his eyes closed. The zookeeper that had shot at him, glared at the boy and escorted him out of the enclosure, along with threatening to call the police if he didn't get out immediately.

The zookeeper came back shortly, glancing around to make sure no one was nearby or looking, gave Daviel several harsh kicks to his side, muttering curses at the large reptile. He then gave a few kicks to Daviel's head and jaws, which was quickly short lived when the croc's mouth opened suddenly and bit down on the man's leg, causing him to scream at the top of his lungs. A few shouts and several darts later, Daviel was out like a light.

Throughout the day, Fango had heard grunts and groans and yells and growls. It was only the afternoon, but there we no guests. (They closed the zoo early due to Daviel and that random dumbo head that went into his enclosure.) Fango looked around, bored as always. She lay down on her side, her ears swilveling to hear what others were saying. Lions were talking about making prides and ruling Africa, hippos were speaking of large waterholes and rivers, flamingos squaked on and on about wetlands and such. The sound of water was heard not just from Fango's enclosure, but from everyone else, other than the flamingos, hippos, penguins, crocs etc. They always had water. Fango stood up and skittered towards the little pond and dunked her face into the dirty water.
