"What's with all the talk of this place called home?" Saffie asked, the smaller of the leopards. "With ears like yours I'd expect you would have heard something." She said, hearing the familiar cackle of the hyenas. "I don't know why you ask a dog, in the wild-" A lion male began, a lioness huffing. "'In the wild', that's all you ever say. Yet 'in the wild' all lions like you lay in the sun why we lionesses raise your young, and hunt for your food!" She roared, the other lionesses of the pride nodding. One of the giraffes peered over. "That is true. My mother had often seen lions laze about in the sun, while the lionesses chased after the zebra near her herd." She nodded, a few zebras shrieking. Saffie giggled lightly, watching them all.
Zipp sat with Victoria, staring at that painted wolf through the glass. Victoria soon got bored and pawed at the glass in which the people were staring at her. But Zipp was almost mesmerized. She just stared at that wolf. She suddenly leaped at the glass and banged her face against it. Her ears flattened in anger and she barked," hey, hey you!" The wolf turned around for a second. Zipp looked at her cage. She went in a small hole in the bottom of her cage and tried to make it bigger, so they might escape through here. Every time the humans clog it back up she digs it back down. Zipp wants to pretend its a den so they won't clog it up every time. She stuck her head out again and looked at the wolf and barked again,"Hey over here! Hello!"
"I can't speak with two people at once!" Fango barked. She looked at the leopard. "My mother has told me that the only things lions do is sulk around all day and kill cubs that aren't of their family. Lionesses do all the work..." she mumbled. "As I was saying.. My mother's told me that our home is a gorgeous place. With huge waterfall outcroppings, vast meadows, huge trees, even jungles! And cool marshy places. Although I haven't seen any of it myself, I wish I could go there..." She leaped off the rim of the window and skittered over to the big "glass wall". She could now speak with the fox-like creature. She put her paws up against the glass and barked, "What would you like to say?"
Zipp was surprised she finally got the wolf's attention. She barked again," Hey, I have a hole in here, and I think I can dig under here, and I think I see cracks in the clear thingies. She pointed her head to a strangely large crack in one of the animals cages. " So, I might be able to get out of here, but the humans keep blocking my hole up! Do you know any tricks that might make them stop!?" She beconed Victoria with her tail and whined at her, a signal that it was her turn to dig. Zipp got out of the hole and continued," Maybe we can get out of here, but then, it would take forever!!" She turned around and flattened her ears so she can try ignoring the screams and yells of the humans. Suddenly, someone dropped a bowl of something delicious! Before they could take it away Zipp grabbed it and Victoria came out and started eating it when she dropped it and turned back to the wolf.
The comment brought up a spark of conversation between enclosures, Saffie overheard most of them. "Stupid dog. What do they know." Grumbled the lion. "I can't believe they kill us at home!" Gasped a shocked zebra. The gazelle chattered among themselves, as did the leopards. Saffie heard the voice of another animal. A different type of dog. Unable to hear very well, she hissed, shushing everyone. "You will all get your turn! Just listen to each other!" The young leopard told them. The animals the in the zoo looked at her dumbfounded, but turned their attention to the wolves. The penguins were pecking around their icy enclosure, beginning to brag they were digging a tunnel.

(Try not too escape so soon, there is still quite a lot to do, succesfully get out, explore the zoo, maybe free some other animals or two.. etc)

Fango looked at the foxy things. "I know quite a lot!" she barked a reply to the lion. The lion only roared furiosuly. "Fango, when I get out of here, you will be the first to be dinner!" Fango only laughed, "If you can catch me, kitty-cat!" She turned back to the foxes. "Don't attack them, because you'll end up being a fox pelt carpet." she stiffled a laugh. Brute's laugh was heard in the distance. "Stupid hyena.." she mumbled. "Okay, maybe you should try doing that during the night. And don't mess with the clear wall too much. I think it's called class... no wait, glass."

Fango shook her fur. It was now evening. Her ears perked up and swivled around. "Still no water.." she sighed, "We are gonna' have to wait a while now, a long while." She sighed once more and stood up. She turned around and walked over to the rocky outcropping. She lay down on the now dry yet cold stone.

Saffie nodded lightly. "Oh! And the pointy things that make you sleep!" She contributed, meaning the tranquilliser guns. The penguins pecked through the ice, just to be met by the cold water of their own enclosure. The giraffes laughed, the penguins shaking off their attempt. "Another failure." One croaked, shaking off the filthy water. Saffie licked her lips thirstily, as did just about every animal in the zoo. "I want to go to that place! It sounds heavenly!" Saffie smiled. "Water all the time! Better food! Better trees to climb!" She purred, one of the Hippos snorting their disgust. "You speak of escaping, but your forget exactly what stops us." She told them, pointing to the electric fences.
"Well, since the african penguins don't live in cold water, I'd love to go into their exhibit, except there are no trees, and no grass, just rock." Fango drooled at the though of ater. She slurped up her drool (XD) and shook her head. Night was here. "Well, now that the hairless apes are gone, we can talk in peace. I always sense a creepy prescence though, like something is watching our every move, my ears can sense it..." she whined. "Oh, you and you're ears Fagno!" Barked Brute from the hyena exhibit. "As I was saying, I always hear this awkward noise, kind of like a door opening. And there are these block things in the corners of our exhibit that move side to side. That is where the sound comes from." (She's talking about cameras)
Saffie nodded lightly, looking at the hippo then back to Fango. "And that pole with the cones on it, making that horrible sound to tell the apes when to leave." She growled, a few of the apes going a little crazy at the thought of being humans. Saffie giggled as she watched them, the eldest Leopard growling her inpatients. "I've been at this.. Place for most of my life, enough time to see this place change apes. The ones we once knew, are gone." She told them. "The ones that were kind to us, that told the walking apes not to hit the.. Glass, because it frightened us." She told them. "Now I may not make it to where you aim to be, but I know some who have been in this place as long as I have, and we can be watchful, our ears may not be good, but our instinct is as sharp as ever." The old leopard rasped.
Fango's nose twitched. Her mouth watered. "Is that.." She sniffed between words. "Chicken!?" She ran up to the glass, pressing her paws and nose against it. A guest was walking by with some fried chicken and left the zoo. Fango whimpered, "Oh well.." Some of the other animals sighed. "Nasty carnivores.." mumbled one of the gazelles. "Oh shut it!" roared a lion. "Can we be quiet?" Sqwaked a flamingo. Almost all the carnivores looked a the flamingo. "Chicken..." "Hey, wait uh uh! No! I am a gorgeous bird! Not someone's dinner!" Fango just laughed as alot of the carnivores drooled because of the flamingo, and there goes Brute the hyena as well.
"Ignorant mammals." Hissed the older leopard, stalking off to lay in the softer parts of the grass. Saffie copied the elder and hissed at the rest of the prancing after her. "Don't worry Satire, we'll find a way out, just you and me." Saffie smiled, climbing up the tree and laying on a branch. "You and I, dear." Corrected the older leopard. "Sorry, Satire. You and I." Saffie corrected herself. The young leopards jaws parted in a loud yawn, her head resting on the branch as she closed her eyes, her long, thick tail flicking lazily. The elder leopard, Satire began to drift off into a peaceful sleep, unbeknown to her, a slumber she wouldn't wake from. The female leopards of that enclosure retired to their favourite spots of their enclosure, falling asleep after the chatter had died down. In the early morning, sad yowls of mourning leopards filled the misty morning atmosphere.
Fango's ears dropped all the way down to her chin. She skittered over to the interaction window and pressed her paws up against the glass. She whined,"I know how it feels." She could easily hear the animal's consversation due to her large ears. She turned her head and looked at the bones in the dark corner of the exhibit. "Why do I have to be the only one in this exhibit?" The chilly morning didn't help. "I really miss the friendlier humans, they would always feed us with a smile on their flat faces, the water would never disappear, and everyone was happy..." She whimpered and sulked over to the bones.
Saffie, however wasn't near the other leopards who was with Satires still body, instead, the young leopard stayed indoors, sulking in the corner. Their mea was untouched, and would be until they stopped catching pigeons and rats as quick snacks. The young leopard wept quietly, Satire was like her mother in some way, learning her how to be a leopard, how I hunt and fend for herself. She had raised her right from when Safie was brought in as a cub. The other leopards mourned outside, Saffie staring into the water bowl, waiting silently for the water. The wait was agonising, and it felt as though her tongue got drier every second she had to wait. One of her salty tears dropped into the empty bucket.
Fango's ears perked up. She heard a glorious sound. She whipped around. "Yes! Water!" she barked. She ran over to the empty hole that was supposed to be the pond. The water poured down from a small hole at the top of the outcropping. The water was dirty, but it was something. She plunged her head into the now almost full pond. Once the pond was full, she was full as well. She shook her head, some droplets of water shaking off. She scrathced her self in the back of her head, some dirt flying off as well. "Geez, my pelt is really dirty." she mumbled. She turned her head towards the leopard exhibit, watching intently.
