Birdy ducked for she was small and could easily escape. Scraw ran into a tree trunk and Birdy flew as fast as her little wings could take her. She landed in a large area of flowers and hid in them. Scraw flew overhead. Birdy prayed that she wouldn't be seen for she didn't know why she attacked him, she just did. When she felt it was safe to get out, she looked around. She hopped up out of the flowers and ran into Scraw who screetched like a mad pig. Birdy's ears began to ring. As Scraw was about to strink, she bit him on the toe and caused him to screetch again. She ran over to the bushes, where Scraw woudn't be able to find her.
Whe pea saw what happened, he froze in shock, lost in thought. He saw scraw take action and he tryed to save her but he flew so high. When he saw the white bird he knew she would be ok. When tangerine fell, he caught her and took her with his 'hands' (feet) and left to his tree. "This sancuary," he thought "they need some saftey regulations of something to keep this place safer and more friendly. And scraw, gosh! They have to FEED him.". when he got to his hollow tree home, he put tangerine on his bed. He quick left the get a small leaf. When he got back he dipped the leaf in his water bucket and gently put it on her head. He, now, was very nervous. He started working on a second bed just in case she didn't feel better by night. He prayed to birdy-god that she would feel better.
Tangerine, after being knocked unconsious, was having a horrible nightmare where the forest was in flames. She saw an scraw cackling and eating something...something colorful. She screamed and woke herself up, startling Pea who was huddled in the corner of the hollow. She stood up straight and gripped the bed. "Where am I?! The hawk- Birdy! Is she ok?" Tangerine moved toward the door but was stopped by sharp pains all over her body. She started to, of all things, preen! her dirty and slightly bloody feathers. She stopped for a moment when she realized that the blood was probably hers, not scraw's. Tangerine then saw Pea. "Why are you here- wait, this is your home, isn't it? She smiled at him.

"Yes," explained pea "you were knocked out, so i took you here so you could, you know, not be eaten". He smiled at her. "You should stay, your very hurt, and i don't think you can fly. Get back to bed, i'll take care of you =) .  The situation took out some of my feathers too," pea turned to the side and you could see a long cut from the top of his eye, down his eye and it ended arould where his neck started "it hurts but its not as bad as yours. Now dinner will be ready in a bit. Get some rest and it will be done before you know it.".

Tangerine tried to relax, but she was worried about Birdy. "I certainly hope she's alright," she said. She wondered breifly what had driven Scraw to such madness. Then Pea announced that the food was ready, but Tangerine didn't feel like eating, even though she needed to keep her strenght up. She peered outside and saw a flash of yellow and hoped for a second it was Birdy, but it was just a flash of light. from something else. Tangerine suddenly realized how selfish she was. Pea had been injured as well, and all she had been doing was sitting her worrying about herself. "I have a recipe for a healing paste, I just need a few ingrediants." Tangerine said. Then she set to work searching Pea's hollow for the special mixture of dried moss, bugs, and floweres.
Scraw circled over an area filled with flowers, and inhaled deeply.  Birdy was here some where...  Thoughts of all the painful and slow ways Birdy could be killed drifted through his head, a he grinned like a mad man, driven insane by rage.  If he was sane at the moment, he would probably note his own considerable temper, and the trouble it might cause him later on.  He swooped down low, each time screeching to try and scare a noise out of Birdy.  That was one fast little sucker, and the tree trick eailier had worked on scraw, but, unluckily for birdy, it was a relatively small tree; it was knocked down, with Scraw enraged furrther, beyond all logical thought.  Any logically thinking un-biased third party would put Birdy's remaining life-span at four hours, best.
Birdy was hiding in a large almost forest of bushes. She slowly made her way to Pea's house. She flew up silently without Scraw noticing her. She ran over to Pea and Tangerine who were busy making some kind of paste. "What has gotten into that Scraw!?" She said, slightly above a wisper. She huddled into a corner, trying to stay calm. She eventually found a nice pile of leaves to sit on. She sat and watched Tangerine look around the hollow for things. She started to preen. She jumped whenever she heard the horrible voice of Scraw. The secluded hollow would never be spoted by Scraw.
Tangerine was so happy to see birdy that she nearly fell off her perch and almost dropped the healing paste. Birdy looked digustedly at the paste and turned her beak away. Tangerine laughed her loud, screechy sun-conure laugh. "Its for Pea's cuts and scrapes, so they will heal faster." She said happily. Tangerine applied it gently. It didn't seem too bad...it could be worse she though to herself. Suddenly Scraw's loud insane screech echochoed off of the surrounding trees. Tangerine frozed and hoped that Scraw had terrible hearing and would not find them. There was no way out of Pea's hollow that she could see.
Scraw had followed birdy all the way to the forest, and was only a few trees awayfrom pea's hollow.  He had had to turn to follow bidy, but was going to fast and crashed.  Birdy had escaped, and Scraw did not know where, but he would find out.  Suddenly, he heard a laugh.  It was close.  He wasn't paying attention, so he didn't quite know where, but they were close.  Scraw didn't care if Birdy wasn't with the bird who laughed, he just had to make sure.  He screeched, long and loud, hoping to provoke a sound he could follow.

Hearing the screech he turned his head toward the girls "ladies, we must go". He quickly jumped to a wooden board on the ground. "my mom made this," he said "she said to only use it for an emergency, and i think now is the time". He lifted the board. Under the board there was a passage-way to the bottom of the tree. "Lets go," he said "like now". He held the door open while the girls ran in. He than hopped in behind them and slowly shut the door. They ran to the bottom and quietly waited. They heard the screech again. Then it fell silent.

Tangerine barely breathed, she was so scared. She could feel birdy about to hiss loudly, but glared at her to make her stop.Tangerine could feel Scraw's sharp claws in her mind, ripping and slashing. She shuddered and erased the images that were coming to mind. She scooted over to where pea perched in the tight space. After what seemed like an enternity, she whispered "I think...I think its safe now." Just then a huge cracking, thunderous sound came from outside the tree. Scraw was trying to knock the tree down. Tangerine could hear him screaming and taunting them. "I know you're in there!" his sneering grating voice echoed in Tangerine's ears.

"I have an idea" pea whispered. He opened up another latch. "My friend is a star nosed mole," he told them softly "he built this for me. And it leads to another tree hollow on the other side of the forest. We must go now.". He watched he girls walk in. He then took a stick off the tunnel wall and scraped it on the ground. It sparked, then lit on fire. He walked in front as the girls followed him.

About two hours passed. They had finnaly gotten to the tree. He opened the hatch and let the girls walk out. When they got out, everything was beautiful. They looked out the hollow window, and saw the most beautiful surroundings. "This is the lushest part of the forest," he told them " its safe here. And i know you will like it. There is a couple of fruit trees, some flowering bushes, pretty nesting tees, and a crystal clear lake. I hope you'll stay for a while".

Just as they had left into the tunnel, Scraw had forcibly crashed his way in, knocking down the tree in the process.  He forced his head into the cramped tunnel, and screeched loudly after them, then pulling his head out, angry with himself for letting Birdy escape.  That little punk, who did she think she was?  Birdy messing with Scraw was like a deer messing with a hunter.  In Scraw's opinion, small birds were made to be hunted, and the only reason he didn't on a regular basis was because he could hunt other things, and they were fast little buggers.  BUt, they were fun to tease.  Scraw was making an exception for birdy, though.  He flew out, and started to peer through the forest, wondering where they were headed.  He had flown in the general direction of the tunnel, but soon gave up, because he didn't know if it had any twists or turns.  He simply landed on a tree, and began to look around as far as he could see. (Which is pretty impressive, considering he's a bird of prey.)
Tangerine smiled for the first time in hours. It was very beatiful here....She saw Birdy fluttering off to go attack some poor helpless plant and Pea went to drink out of a clear, shining spring of water. Tangerine flew to a high branch where she could see for miles. Thick forest spread out in all directions and a river flowed to the east. Tangerine watched Pea with amusement. He had gotten his long, pretty tail feathers wet and was struggling to fly. Tangerine heard a loud squawk and saw something that made her heart nearly stop. It was not scraw, as she had feared, but a giant blue parrot. It was about 6 feet from beak-tip to tail tip. Tangerine watched the parrot introduce itself. "It seemed freindly enough..." she thought.
Kiwi was walking through where scraw was. He looked up and saw him mumbling about some bird. Kiwi climbed up onto the tree where scraw was. "What's the matter? Your girlfriend run off on ya?" Scraw glared at Kiwi. He climbed up onto a branch that was close to scraw's face. "Why you so grumpy?" Kiwi stared at Scraw. He then jumped onto scraw's back and climbed up his neck. Scraw shuddered at the feeling. Kiwi climbed up on top of scraw's head and started to do a strange kind of dance. Scraw rolled his eyes at Kiwi. "Come on! You got to lighten up!" Kiwi continued dancing until scraw shook him off and he fluttered to the branch Scraw was sitting on.
