Frost hunched low in the bushes as starlight cought his fur giving him a ghostly appearence. His eyes pierced the darkness as the quite breathing of other wolves came from behind him. He waited silently for his signal.
Though calm on the outside, a tempest was raging on the inside of Frost. This was his old territory, one that he wished, no, craved to own. He wanted every bit of this to be his, to raise his pups here in a place they could call their own. He was willing to kill for that dream, and he wouldn't give up until he was dead.
However, that meant possibly killing Lisa. Frost knew she'd be coming into her own now, and as Alpha, he'd have ot kill her to become one himself, or become her mate. The later was to risky, something Frost couldn't bank on, but he didn't want to hurt Lisa at all. Leaving had been the solution to him. But now... now he wasn't sure.
A how; sounded, sending the group into action as they passed silently into the forest. I wonder if I will see my brother again tonight...
Mona Lisa eyes grew wide as Fish Feather ran after his sister. This was the moment of truth; this was the moment she was being trained for, and now she had to take action.
Mona was naturally timid in moments like these. Usually, she would freeze up, unable to choose a move from the options in her brain. But now she felt as though her family were truly in trouble..Jaron was family to her, and if he had made it to Luna, that meant that the two people she loved most in her whole world were in danger.
As if without command, Mona's legs carried her at full speed towards the cry. Her heart was in her throat again, and her eyes round with fear.
Jaron..Luna..hang on..!!
Just like that, she was following the trail back to her sister, the trail she had tried to talk herself into following many times. The scents grew stronger now, and lifting her thin muzzle to the air, she smelt for Luna first. To her relief, she couldn't catch her scent. However, Jaron's scent hit her hard, along with the lingering scent of blood...
Mona's feet failed to move now. Coming to a halt, a cold chill ran down her spine as she beheld the scene she had come upon: Jaron lay collapsed, blood staining his side, as a wolf stood over him. In the crowd of wolves, she noticed a familiar face...
Frost smelled his brother first before hearing him beat through the bush. Sloppy as alway brother. Why do you have to get in my way now? This was not part of the plan, they wern't supposed to run into anyone. I can't let him warn the rest of the pack.
Frost stalked out of the brush, watching his brother. Fish Feather saw him as well, saying something Frost's ears didn't catch. A ball of fur dissapeared into a bush, hiding. In the glimps Frost had, a crawling feeling went up his spine. Is that...?
Nodding to his group, they dispearsed. Surrounding the two wolves and preventing escape. If Feather wanted to escape, he'd have to go through a whole lot of teeth and fur.
Frost smiled at his brother. "Feather, seems I ran into you earlier. Must say, I didn't expect to see you." He looked around. "As you can see, odds are against you. Join us, help us take the forest and maybe you'll make up for all those times you denied me. I might even raise you from an omega."
The plan was working, atleast from Cleopatra's perspective. Sure enough, the young Alpha had come to the rescue of her pack mate, obvoisly an elder. Cleopatra laughed when Mona Lisa, a name she'd learned from the wolves, froze at the sight of her dying, if not dead, friend.
Cleopatra couldn't know what was going on with Frost, but she trusted him to handle his end. For now, her vantage point in the trees was a good enough hiding spot for her to go undetected. The wind blew her scent away, and wolves rarely looked up.
Besides, if she was spoted, this alpha would be in a deeper pile than intended.
As Jaron lay helpless on the earth, his body was so still...it was seemingly lifeless. All Mona could do was stare for the longest time. Within, she felt a crack. Her heart pounded so fast now, she was becoming dizzy.
Breaking the paralysis that had threatened to keep her, she moved one shaky paw in front of the other, slowly crawling to her father-figure friend. As she got closer, she noticed that Jaron was not moving.
"Jaron!" Mona whimpered, tears filling her eyes, her ears flattening to her skull. Moving a little closer, as hard as it was, she nudged him gently with her head, "Jaron, say something.."
Only silence.
A single tear fell from those golden eyes of hers, falling on her dead friend's face. Her mind played back an epilogue of memories.

"Uncle Jaron, I don't think I can do it!" Young Mona cried, as she struggled to free herself from the trap. Luna watched on from behind Jarin, tears flooding her eyes as she wept for her injured sister.
"Uncle Jaron, please! Help her!"
The wise old wolf kept steady and cool. He came up swiftly to Mona Lisa's side, rebuking her as she wriggled around. "Keep still. You'll only make it worse." He warned calmly. Mona stopped at once, looking up at him with eyes sore from crying. They held a trusting gaze as they fixed on Jaron. Placing a paw on the bear trap, he pulled with his teeth, prying the jaws open to set Mona free.
Pulling away and running a distance, Mona let out a cry. Luna ran to her sister's side.
"Hold still now," Jaron started, coming over to her "Let me look at you"
Mona's paw was bleeding and sore now, but on her face was a smile as radiant as the sun. She threw herself at Jaron at once. "Uncle Jaron, you saved me!"
The big wolf chuckled and tumbled over as the wolf pups tackled him. Luna giggled and Mona just looked into his eyes.
"How is it that you're always there for me?" she asked, with a wisdom beyond her years ringing in her voice. Jaron simply smiled back at her, kissing her on her head.
"You stick with me kid. I'll always be right here."

Another chill went down Mona's spine, racing up and down as her fur now stood on end. Where as before she only whimpered, she was now fighting back uncontrolable sobbing.
Cleopatra watched with silent judgment as Mona Lisa went to he friend. From her reaction, Cleopatra could tell this wolf meant a lot to the girl. Cleopatra watched as the wolf mourned over his body, obviously in emotional pain. Many would see this as weakness, but Cleopatra recognized it as strength. I was like you once, innocent. Hurts, doesn't it?
Stone and his gang growled with laughter. "Aw, whats a pretty little thing like you doing out so... alone?" His eyes trailed slowly up and down Mona. It was time for phase two, a way for Cleopatra to get more information, and to cause termoil.
Cleopatra jumped out of the tree, placing her body between Stone and Mona. Her teeth were bared as an angry snarl ripped from her throat. Stone backed up in surprise, he and his group were not aware of this part, of her infiltrating enemy lines. "How about you leave now, and leave this wolf alone?"
Mona's heart, now torn in two, felt as though it was close to bursting. She couldn't bring herself to leave Jaron's body. Her whole body quaked, a mixture of unspeakable rage, and slight fear as a male wolf snuck up on her. She turned her head slightly, her eyes closed tight, as the brute looked her over like a peice of fresh meat.
Her mind had shut down, and instinct was aching to take over. She took a step forward, though unseen by the others. Opening her eyes just in time, she saw a flash of fur fall before her, emitting a low and rumbling growl that took her momentarily off guard.
The large cat was putting herself between her and the other wolves, but for what purpose? Mona listened as the leopard threatened the dogs. Utter shock was plastered on their faces, jaws agape. Mona would have felt a sense of pleasure if the cat were to finish them off right then and there...and yet...a greater pleasure still..
if she were to finish them off herself, right then and there.
Taking a look at the other wolves, she felt compelled to act. Taking a look at the cat, she realized she was outnumbered, and didn't know whether or not to trust her either. It was as if a war were going on inside her:
half her heart told her to avenge Jaron. That would most likely end badly for her, as blind rage and poor skills would sooner backfire than get her the results she desired. Her conscience told her to hold out, be smart..something Jaron would have told her to do in such a situation.
Mona was being pulled in two directions, but the thought of her clan that depended on her, and the thought of her sister swayed her to hold her ground.
When she failed to think up a move, she kept her eyes on the big cat.
Frost cocked his head to the side, his eye boring into fish Feather. "Get bored, of what? Trying to convince my family to come live with me? To be there by my side?" Frost lowered his head, his tail swishing. His manner suddenly changed as his eyes focused on Snow Hare's hiding spot.
"Snow? I know you don't remember me, but I'm Frost; your older brother. Please come out, I haven't seen you in a long time." Sure enough, as little ones do, Snow popped her head out to look at Frost.
Her voice squeaked. "Your not going to hurt me?"
Frost shook his head. "I would never hurt my family. You see, I went away for some special training, and I came back to see if you two wanted to be a part of it."
"You were in special training?!?" Frost flashed a triumphant smile at Fish Feather as the tiny pup raced towards Frost, bouncing with excitment.
Cleopatra could see the wheels turning in Stone's head as he attempted to figure out what was going on. He growled, his fangs bared as his gaze shifted from Mona Lisa to Cleopatra with suspision and anger.
Knowing Stone wasn't able to make the connections he needed to. Cleoptra flattened her ears and lunged forward, swiping her claws at Stone's nose to break him from this trance. The wolf backed up, a low threat aimed at Cleopatra. "I will not forget this."
He and the pack turned and ran back to the mountains, and Cleopatra glanced at Mona Lisa. "You ok?" She sounded sincere, as if she meant only good. Bite the hook little mouse. Let the cat in...
Frost watched Feather's act of submission, as well as his breakdown. The snickers and laughs from the other wolves echoed around Frost. "Silence!" He barked, sending the others in hushed silence. Frost padded slowly over to Feather, standing over. He reached down, flicking his nose under Feather's so that he looked up into Frost's eyes. "I never meant to hurt you Feather..." the shortened nickname felt odd in Frist's mouth. He hadn't used it in a long time. "I had to get away, but I never meant to hurt you. You are still my family, and I still care about you, but being alone isn't something I ever wanted." And it was true. Frost had been harsh to his brother for so long because his new lifestyle was harsh on him. For a long time, he was alone, disowned when he left the pack. He just wanted someone with him. But there was a nagging feeling in his heart. Feather won't survive in my world...
Dragon looked from up the tree at what was happening. Frost was doing everything right, until the last part. Skylar, the literal Eagle/owl, he looked like the golden eagle but was the size of a great grey owl, whispered to her "Come on, let me take down the tan one. I can do it, honest. You let me do it before!" "Shut up Birdie!" Skylar immediately became quiet. He was her apprentice, after all. Skylar also knew if she said shut up, she was mad. Calling him Birdie, worst. She slightly felt sad for the tan wolf, Which his name was more likely feather. Or Fish. Or both. Dragon didn't really care about the white little one. She was related to the tan one. Feeling her muscles start the cramp, she got up, spun around, and slowly walked to the base of the tree. Skylar mumbled on her shoulder. She crouched again, and watched. she had a clearer view now. She turned to Skylar on her shoulder and whispered "Do something useful, use your eyes in the sky to see and tell me how Cleopatra's doing. Report back a soon as possible." The bird shot out of the tree, sending leaves flying.
No one has forgotten the trauma of harrowing Winter War that shook the plains over a century ago. The new generation grew up with the stories. They have made their home on the healed land which was once the ruin of their great grandparents' world. Things have taken a turn since then, one for the better, however old habits die hard, and some say they survive in the genes..
The tale of how the Great Alpha Tala and her army defeated Volkov, the most evil wolf to ever roam these woods, still lives on in the spoken word and the songs of birds. But if life is a cycle of repeating events, could it be possible that bitterness is being bred amidst the joy of victory and freedom?
Nothing is for certain, though just as the future is unknown, an awful lot can be learned from history.
The dead speak louder than the living may ever know..

ÂÂ
This Roleplay is somewhat of a sequel to my Four Seasons: Spring Roleplay.
For a recap, there was a Winter War that took place and divided the woods in two. The army of villianous, murderous traitors was lead by none other than Volkov himself, a sadistic wolf who's name strikes fear into many even long after his death.
The Catori Clanwas the last wolf pack who remained faithful to the woods good and innocent; they were the greatest hope of the oppressed, soon to be lead in battle against Volkov by the upcoming Alpha Tala.
Tala was well known as the wolf who, as a pup, was kidnapped by Volkov, who sought to raise her up himself to be just as evil as he was. She fought back, even in her youth, and bit off a chunk of his ear. Volkov, enraged, left her for dead in the middle of the harshest of winters. Instead of dying, as she was expected to, she made it back to her pack and grew up with them under the expectations of her Alpha parents.
When Volkov and his forces had disappeared after the Winter War had ended, peace was embraced for a while, and duly celebrated. However, Tala did not have long to train before a new outbreak of attacks occured. Volkov's army, soldier by soldier began to resurface, returning the fear of the Winter.
Gathering allies along the way, Tala took her place as Alpha at a time one might call premature. However, she proved herself in battle as she lead her people to victory within a year. The year, however, was filled with strife, hardships, suffering, and great loss...
Now more than a century later, the descendents of these Great Warriors live on bearing their names. Unfortunately, carrying on the legacies of such Greats may mean more than they would have bargained for.

Oh, and here's the link to the Original, if you care enough to look: http://exhibited-sim.com/roleplay/457
If there was to be a choice, I would label this Roleplay as more intermediate. That said, I would hope that anyone who was to join would take the time to consider their Character's backgrounds and backstories, as well as the history.
-Try to keep the posts interesting by writing at least five lines, if you can. I tend to write a lot, and I also like to read a lot. I will not penalize you for doing otherwise, but I would apprectiate it. Although, as long as you have something to add to the overall story, it will be enjoyed just the same :)
-NO POWERS
-No odd coloring, if you can help it
-Romance is allowed of course, but since these are animals, please (for the love of all things sacred) try to keep it PG. Thanks *thumbs up*
-No fighting. If you have a problem or a question (which are always welcome and accepted with smiles!) let it be known in the OOC.
-No Power play, Mary sues, godmodding, blah blah blah
-LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAZ ANY OTHER QUESTIONS!! I DON'T BITE (well maybe sometimes..:3)ÂÂ
-Try to keep it as literate as you can (Thank you, says the hypocrite ^^;) But I won't yell if you spell something wrong lol ( .... )
