Charley almost choked on his champange as he watched Natasha. I must be the luckiest man in the world right now, he thought, putting the champange down. He eased onto the bed up to Natasha. When he reached her, he moved some curls behind her ear. "You're the most prettiest thing in the world," he said. He leaned in, kissing her passionately. As always, his wings acted, but Charley left them folded. No, I'm the cover this time, he thought with a grin. As he kissed her, Charley picked her up in his arms. His dark magic acted, turning off the lights immediately. Thank God for these powers, thought Charley. Another night with Natasha was all he wanted right now.
In his room, Reggie was reading a book while listening to smooth jazz. He glanced over at Ripper the Raptrid. The young bird was enjoying his meal, cooing happily. Reggie chuckled and continued to read his book. He wondered what his son was doing, but thought better of it. "Even though we've been apart for ten years, he's a man now, and needs his space," said Reggie. He then removed a necklace from his neck, opening the locket. He smiled as he saw the two old pictures of him, Charley, and Charla. Charla, how I miss my dark queen, thought Reggie. Charla was his everything. When they met in the 80's, Charla was the most beautiful thing in the world. Reggie just had to have her. The first picture was of Reggie and Charla at their wedding back in 1993, kissing each other. The picture was on the left side. The right picture was taken in 1994, the year Charley was born. Charla was holding their newborn son while Reggie stood over them smiling. Charley's wings were a little large, but wet as he cried. Reggie smiled as he remembered that day. "Marrying you and having him were the best days of my life," said Reggie, kissing the pictures. "You were gone too soon," he said, tears beginning to feel his eyes. Ripper looked up from his meal and stared over at Reggie. He cocked his head at the old angel before squawking cutely. Reggie looked over at him, a tear falling. "It's nothing, Ripper, I'm fine," said Reggie. Ripper cocked his head again and returned to his meal, but halted and looked to right. Reggie saw him. Ripper turned his body fully and squawked, this time angrily.
"Angry for a little guy," said Reggie. Ripper began to fly around the cage, squawking and looking to the right. Reggie saw that Ripper's squawks were urgent warnings. Reggie grabbed his staff and cut off the lights. He then grabbed the cage and hid in the closet with Ripper, who calmed. A minute later, something appeared from the back, entering the bedroom where Reggie was. Reggie held his breath as he saw his intruder. It was the Snow Angel that had delivered champange to Charley's room. What does he want? Reggie wondered. He was about to come out when the Snow Angel began to morph. Reggie halted as the Snow Angel revealed its true form: another Lethrblak. The Lethrblak sniffed the room, its bat-like wings twitching before it walked over to the bed. Reggie wanted to contact Charley, but Charley need privacy.
In the other room, Charley was beneath the sheets with Natasha, unaware of the danger his father was in....or the intruder was actually in (hehehe). The Lethrblak clicked its tongue, and suddenly, three others picked the lock at Reggie's door and entered quickly. "The old one's not here," growled the first. "Then where is his offspring?" asked another. The Lethrblak pointed his head to the wall. "In the next room," he said. Reggie's eyes bulged. They're trying to assassinate my son, I'm not letting that happen, thought Reggie. Before he could move, Ripper squawked urgently. The closet door opened and a blade flew up to Reggie's throat. It stopped quickly. "If you want to live, I suggest you cooperate with no powers, Old Man Storm," said the Lethrblak. Reggie cursed, silencing Ripper.
