Maiko woke up suddenly and her husband sat up asking "What is it?" "Something is about to happen..." He pinned her down on the bed but Mai pushed him off and reached for Kitsune Hime shutting her eyes just in case. Sure enough there was a ruckus outside. Someone was in the mannor that wasn't supposed to be there. Renji opened the door and Mai covered up "Sorry, Captain something is going on in the Rukon district. Some hollow showed up. Her grandfather said she has premonintions so I came to check if it's true." Mai said "I did sense something..."

Rowan slid forward... And roared. 

Rowan's roar was an interesting noise. If you've ever heard a mountain lion roar, you can imagine what it sounded like. It was loud. Very, very loud.

Hisagi jumped, sending papers everywhere. Tousen whirled around and turned his head to the window. Rowan was laughing. Too loudly, perhaps, and she really shoould have been paying more attention. Actually, she should have not pulled that prank in the first place, but the damage was already done.

She should have ran.

Standing around to see the results was a bad, bad, bad idea.

Too late to go back now though.

Tousen had a firm hold on her chain.

Crap.

A hollow roared just outside the mannor walls and Byakuya looked at Maiko for a second before going to deal with it. Renji apologized for intruding. Maiko also heard a roar in the distance. Sounded like a mountain lion and Mai started getting dressed. She figured it was another hollow. Something was going down and she had to be ready for it. Once her husband had returned Maiko had Kitsune Hime strapped to her arms in shikai and she stood there waiting for something. Then Maiko snapped her eyes shut just in case Aizen showed up. Kitsune Hime had warned her he might find her interesting he had tried to get her in his squad before. She'd never actually seen the man she'd just heard about it from her husband when she first joined the squad.

Oh crap oh crap oh crap oh crap oh crap.

THIS was bad. She needed to get out of this, quick. Problem was, there were very few options.

She could attack tousen. That was most certianlly going to get him to let go of her... Then she could run off. THe issue was, she would be tracked down and punished.

She coul try to talk herway out of this. That was unlikely to work, Tousen was... well, tousen. He was probably not going to just let her go.

Her only other option was to simply submit. Just not try to get out, go along with whatever tousen had planned. It was going to be not fun, whatever it was. 

She had to think fast...

Oh god...

He began to say something, and Rowan made her decision. She whirled around and raked her claws over the hand holding her. As expected, he let go instantly. He tried to grab her again, but by then it was too late. There were lots of things that Rowan did... Making the same mistake twice in a trow was not one of them.

Rowan shot off like a silver bolt of lightning. She did not stop untill she was in a safeish location- behind the wall of the 13th division. 

...What had she done? 

When the Hollow was dealt with Maiko let her guard down. Byakuya made to go back to bed. Maiko joined him and settled back into his embrace. It felt warm and safe there. Byakuya put a hand on her hip and left it there something he'd never done. Maiko seemed to stretch out and get very comfortable. Byakuya sighed in his sleep and Maiko cuddled into him. When morning came Maiko had slept well and her husband wanted to stay in bed to do certain activities. Maiko however reminded him they had work and she was still sore from last time. He smirked at that last bit.

Rowan sighed and pulled herself into a tight, scared ball. She wraped her wings around her small frame.

Oh god...this was bad. That was impulsive... now...

She knew what would happen next. Tousen would report the incident. She would be hunted down, caught, and punished.

...Well, there was time here to make another decision. There was no way she could avoid being caught indefinitly... but she could definitly slow it down. The only one who would be able to outrun her was Byakuya... All the others would have to corner, trap, or outsmart her. Those were easier said than done.

She would get in further trouble if she evaded though... but she was out of thinking time. The sun was rising, and it was time to move.

Maiko and her husband got ready for work. Unlike some men Byakuya always remembered where he put his socks and other garments. Maiko however had a hard time finding her shoe on the way out. A servant found it for her and she thanked the woman. Another day of paperwork... oh joy. At least Toshi seemed to placate the other women in the division. In fact the little guy was getting a little chunky with all the scraps people had been feeding him. Maiko made it an order that if people were going to feed him table scraps they had to exercise him so he didn't get unhealthy. It was the first time she'd ever issued an order and to her shock it was followed. Toshi was the division pet and had to be taken care of. She had no idea how appealing her caring for that little guy was to her husband. It was motherly and honestly impressive to see that she wasn't the sort of woman to baby something because it was cute. Part of why Kenpachi had her watch Yarchiru sometimes. She was not going to give Yarchiru sweets unless they were healthy ones. Unless it was a special occasion of course.

Oh god oh god oh god oh god oh god oh god oh god.

 

Tousen had sent out a message telling all 13 divisions that sne needed to be captured. She was currently running for her life from Mayuri and Akon, and although she was faster than them, they were good at setting traps. She had nearly ran into four already, and she had only been doing this for an hour or so. The worst part was that yuri was not the only one. All of the other captians and vice captians had been informed. Some had chosen to ignore it... But Rowan had a bad feeling about Byakuya.

Afte all, he loved rules, order, and... well, not her.

Maiko watched her husband getting ready to go catch Rowen. "What did that crazy little lizard do?" "Clawed a captain. Tousan..." Maiko snorted "She must have pulled some sort of prank on him and when he tried to grab her she clawed him." Maiko found this funny but the head captain showed up. Byakuya actually gave him his wife's theory about what had happened. "Still she must be punished for her antics. But perhaps she just needs something to do to keep out of trouble." Mai nodded and said "I don't know what though." Then she remembered she wasn't supposed to be informal with the head captain and apologized for the lack of propriety then and there.

Rowan shot around the corner, panting. How much longer could she keep this up? Sure, she had great endurance, but there were several captains after her... and Byakuya would soon be joining the mix. 

She was in deep crap now. Whatever punishment they had planned for her, running away had surely made it worse.

Rowan stopped for a moment to catch her breath. She was hidded in a bush near the 3rd division. Gin was one of the captains who had ignored the order to capture her, but she could not stay here long.

It was an obvious hiding place, they would find her here.

Maiko watched her husband go to chase after Rowen... She was stuck doing paperwork with Renji. "So how is your marriage going so far if you don't mind me asking?" "I've never been married before so I have nothing to compare it to..." "Alright." "He isn't much of a cuddler... but that is pretty much expected. Otherwise I suppose it's like my Grampa's marriage which was good." "That's good... You planning on having a kid soon?" "Haven't talked about it yet. But I have a feeling it'll come up soon. Not much more to say that I can risk getting out. I trust you sober, I trust no one drunk." "I have never seen the captain drunk so I think you are fine there." "Good..."

The sewers sounded pretty good at the time.... crap, the 4th division was always running around there, werent they? Well, that was off the charts.

Maiko did not know what her husband was doing but Renji was drinking and she was about ready to crack him over the head with that sake bottle... but she had Masmuto as a witness. She'd invited herself into Byakuya's office with the vile drink in surplus. Masmuto kept trying to get her to drink. One hangover in her lifetime was more than enough for her. Then Mai did something unladylike and smacked both of them with Kitsune Hime. She did her best impression of her in laws and said "I will not tolerate drunkeness in my presance. Get out now. Even the Eleventh division captain knows better than to drink around me." Masmuto left and Renji instantly sobered up shooting her a glare. Mai said "I watched someone I cared about die of alcohol poisoning. I don't want you dying on me too." Renji dropped the glare but said "You can't control me." "I know that... Just don't drink please, not around me."

Her husband came back after nabbing Rowen and giving her to Kenpachi to deal with. He'd convinced the Head captain to have the eleventh division deal with her. He had some scratches and he'd done it so fast she didn't know what hit her. Poor Rowen... But Renji got in trouble for drinking on the job. Maiko started bandaging her husband up without a word. Her husband was appreciative of her first aid skills. Toshi came running in the office with a dead mouse in his mouth and Mai petted him getting rid of the mouse and feeding him a treat. "You are such a good mouser. Yes you are..."
