Roleplaying

Robin walked next to Arctic through the alleys.  She pricked her ears, alert for anything thats related to human. She heard some voices and dogs barking, but they were too far for them to attack her and her mate.  They were headed toward the last remaint of the woods, if there were any space left in it. Robin jumped another fence. They landed int short dead grass, but that was enough. they were close, and she sensed it. She started running, it didn't matter if her mate fell behind or if a dog found her. She was close, and she cn outrun those dogs when she got there. She jumped over a final fence and saw small houses bundled up in groups in the distance, with short, springy, grass all over the place. She had escaped the ruins, the city. She looked behind her. She was free.. Finally free. But not fully free. A light suddenly burned her pelt and the barks of dogs filled the air.  Robin sprinted, left, right, left, more left, right, forward. She had outrun them, but her mate was nowhere. She ran back toward the city, just her mate jumped the fence and ran with her, Arctic was full of fear scent, there were more on the way. She ran left and right again, with Arctic matching every pawstep. After a 30 minutes the poachers gave up and left. They were safe, but they had no idea where they were.

Takes place on a small, snowy continent. The stars are only pentiful in a few of the forests that remain on the outskirts of what human villages remain. The human villages are more rural, and poor. But in the city, there is much light pollution and many ruins. The city is not well maintained, and many wolves have chosen to take up residence in the ruins. Others live on the streets, which are old and dirty and crowded with people. The lucky ones remain within the woods, which are small and have just enough coverage to hide them, but food is scarce. This is why many have chosen to take their chances in the cities.

No one can escape the advancements that time brings with it. Wolves, a species that has long been in danger of extinction, are losing their homes as expansion becomes a necessity for humans. The homes in which the wolves once lived are being stripped and cleared out. Because of this, wolves have been forced to adapt to city life, becoming like beggars for scraps and searching alley ways for shelter. The humans have increasingly grown aware of the wolves'presence, and have come to consider them a nusence. It has become customary that wolves, when their numbers become too many, are to be captured and relocated. Because of this, the packs have been torn apart.

But thats not the worst part. Many citizens in the city have started to hunt the wolves down, hoping to take matters into their own hands and decrease the number of the wolf population in an easier, less costly way. The few areas that are still forested belong to the wolves, though not everyone respects that. Because of this, there are not many places where a wolf is safe.

The wolves, however, stick together. They keep their traditions. They try to keep away from humans. But in a dog-eat-dog world, one must do what they need to survive, and to protect the ones they love.

Similar to Wolfs Rain, but the wolves do not turn into humans.
