Kaeldred suddenly jumped up, "That's wonderful, about your personality, i mean.." oddly his tone seemed abnormal, usually he'd display more bounce. He really hoped that his statement wasn't taken in offense, as they would sometimes be when he was with his small family.

 

 

"I hope one day that we can find everybody we want to.." Kaeldred accidently blurted out, though he didn't seem to notice.

 

He titled his head up once more the the albertosaurus, "...And if you wouldn't mind, I would love to...to tag along with you, wherever the adventures take us!"

 

 

 

He, too, then stared towards the trees, "Hey, are we going over there?" kaeldred once again returned to his excited tone and started circling his newly named 'friend'

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

but suddenly a thought stopped him.....'What if....when we find all of our family members...if...we separate? What if we don't find them at all? what if we end up getting separated and never finding eachother?'

kaeldred had zoned out for a few moments, not really thinkings about anything in particular. he realized his eyes were set to the forest, where his family used to live...would they still be there? 

He blinked himself out of the thought, and glanced several times at his friend before setting his focus on the thing, it was rather difficult for him to focus on one thing. exactly why his parents hated teaching how to hunt, he didn't even know how...

"oh, uh, yeah. my name's Kaeldred! I have no idea what it means or how my parents came up with it....but here i am!" Kaeldred puffed out excitedly

"Well, welcome to the "pack", Kaeldred." Xavier smiled for once, ignoring the bleeding gash on the side of his cheek. His nostrils flared for a moment, taking a deep breath through his opened maw. I don't think I smell anyone else...with all the dust and debris from the fighting I don't even know if my senses are properly working or not...The Alberto sighned, relaxing his tense frame and continued the "journey".

Finding his long-forgotten voice once again, he gazed at the youngling curiously, "So Kaeldred, how exactly did you get seperated? I, like the rest of the population, got seperated while I was out hunting and while my mate protecting our young. Sad story short, I hope their still alive out there and if I can find them. Hope is the only fume my body is supplying me---and the need of survival." Xavier informed, breathing in a long breath of fresh air.

His gray-blue-ish hide was dim from tussling in the dust with his prey, but nonetheless seemed healthy. As the only pain he was currently feeling was at the side of his jaw and his left hindleg. If nothing was gushing out blood, then their trek continues.

And, like all, he admired Kaeldred for the spark of both adventure and sanity in his eyes. He admitted that, like all, the youngling gave him energy he only felt when he was with his own young. Fatherly instict? I guess it's common to feel this way with other younglings? Xavier shrugged the thought and continued towards the set of trees in the distance.

Kaeldred had tucked himself under the albertosaurus, trying to keep with his pace, which, for him, was bit...slow. 

"oh, I was with my family, and they were going to teach me how to hunt for the first time, but the ground started roaring and dust was thrown everywhere! and then it also started cracking and before I knew it we were separated! We could still see eachother but... then a massive wave of shaking and i think it knowcked me unconcious but when i woke up i couldn't see my family, so i figured i should leave and teach myself how to hunt, but here I am now!"

the whole time he spoke he had not one hint of sadness.

"oh yeah, i was by one of my siblings for a while but she kind of....ended up getting attacked." Kaeldred spoke. Having better eyesight than most other dinosaurs, which was natural for deinonychus, he could pin point objects that others could not. he wasn't surprised that all he saw was a bunch of dirt and the forests ahead...

Mel had been walking around for days without a single minute of sleep. constantly sniffing around for signs of food, and water. She had found a few, small pools of water which she happily drank(and scared the smaller predators away from) but a distant smell of meat came her way....it must've been killed soon...it was dead. that was a that thing's dead smell. She sprinted as fast as her legs would allow her towards the carcass. she quickly scavenged the meat when she reached it. raising her head, a smell of a carnivore passed her by....a mix of two. "what?" she said alloud, confused.

she ate one last piece of meat before leaving to check it out. upon further examination, it was a young deinonychus and an albertosaurus....competition in her eyes. the small one was food...but the big one she had to get rid of...somehow. She was taller and larger in general than the paired dinosaurs...this could be easy..but...was it worth it? 

Now that she thought about it, they were going into the forest! being ahead of them, in a way, she sprinted into the trees and hid herself there, waiting. the color of Mel's scales would keep her relatively hidden. and all she smelled of was triceratops meat and dust.

Xavier sighed, it felt as if he had the whole world atop of his shoulders. "Well, chump, as long as you're with me, you'll be safe. But I don't guarantee the safety of your family. Hopefully we'll find both yours and mine. But for now, just don't you worry." But the worst that can happen is if we accidentally get separated. He thought extensively, shaking his head vigorously.

As they got nearer and nearer towards the forest, even with his slow pacing and Kaeldred's "need for speed", something didn't feel quite right to Xavier. Stopping dead in his tracks, he raised up his head and scanned the vegetation with his deep crimson red eyes. Unfortunately, Xavier didn't own the keenest of eyes, but mainly he relied on both his strength and nose for doing most of the work. But, unfortunately again, he couldn't detect anything out of the blue. Either the scent of the triceratops from his other meal still ran fresh in the air, or a new herd was approaching. To him, it would make sense a herd of herbivores would seek shelter in the forest not only from predators, but also for the sake of a good meal.

 Glancing back down at the chick, he ordered carefully, "Keep a keen eye, Kaeldred. We might not know if anything else lurks this forest aside from ourselves."

One last time, he doubled-over checking the forest and continued to raise his suspicions. Possibly they weren't the only lost dinosaurs after all.

Mel sat in the bushes, the two carnivores were so close to her...the problem was that the small one was tucked under the albertosaur's legs..she'd come up wiyth a way later.

Normally she would leave carnivores alone, but she was in a different situation now. Survival of the fittest, smartest, fastest. and she had to be one of them. thus, she would get rid of at least one of the competitors or at least direly wound them, it was the way of nature for weaker dinosaurs to perish..

what was such a young, small dinosaur doing out here anyways? it didn't look to be in any sort of pain, and normally the albertosaur would've eaten the smaller one by now...

Kaeldred nodded, "aright....i'm used to being in a forest like this. my family went here all of the time...well, not sure it was this forest, but...it was a forest."

He could smell the dead triceratops too, and the smell of something else...not of a plant...but of another carnivore...greeeaat. frantically, he looked through the forest. Deinomnychus had keen eyes and nose, strength? in numbers. but at least he was with another dinosaur. wary that something could be out there, hu tucked himself further under xavier, shielding himnself under the carnivore's legs. but, out of the corner of his eyes, he saw something....something moving. he turned around to face it, and it indeed was a carnivore. a large one. Kaeldred studied it since it didn't really go after him, and at first he thought it was a spinosaurus....frightened, he backed up into xavier, almost refusing to move.

Xavier took a couple steps forward and noticed that Kaeldred wasn't following. Curious, he tilted his head to the side and gave him an awkward glance, "What's the matter, Kaeldred? What do you see-. He quickly shut his mouth shut, preparing for the worst. The triceratops was impossible to smell all the way out here, and his suspicions about another carnivour was true.

Backing up, but not too much, he bent his neck and nudged his companion forward. "Listen to me, keep your defenses up but make it seem as if you hadn't noticed anything. That way, it might think we still haven't suspected it. That way when we expect it most, we'll be prepared for the attack. Got it?" Xavier whispered, making sure to keep his voice as quiet as the wind.

Looking through the corner of his eye, he didn't see anything that bothered him. Unfortunately for him, he had bad eyesight; but his sense of smell and strength was the greatest advantage in him, as well as his size.

Cautiously, he continued taking a couple slow but heavy steps in front of him, not caring if twigs and whatnot snapped.

You're a dinosaur from the Cretaceous period that got separated from your herd/family, and are trying to reunite with them while survive the harsh times. You can choose between the three aspects; Carnivore, Omnivore, or Herbivore.On the plains with no shelter from the heat, predators, etc...how will you learn to adapt to the unnatural surroundings? And will you survive?
Separated from your Family during a massive earthquake that severed the land, it's up to the solo dinosaurs to try and recover them, while also survive the massive changes and predators lurking out there.Will you survive the changes and reunite with your family? Or will you turn out to be another snack for hungry dinosaurs?
A massive earthquake struck right when you were enjoying time spent with your family/herd, causing land to break away, massive tsunamis, and landslides. Many, many dinosaurs died, and you're not sure if some of them are apart of your family/herd.

-No swearing, and don't just block out the words with symbols.

-This is the Cretaceous period, so some aspects may not be available if you're thinking about the earlier periods.

-You can adapt to a different mate if either you give up on the search and/or they're presumed dead.

-No mating, keep it at decent roleplay standards.

-No killing other Roleplay dinosaurs unless permission from role player her/himself.

-Do not over exaggerate killing scenes.-Please, and I mean please, do not powerplay. Remember, dinosaurs have their advantages/disadvantages.
