Rennie just watched from her shadowy position against the wall, with no comment. The only thing she got out of the entire scenario in front of her was a very nice helping of bitter amusement with a side of sweet sarcasm, dripping with a vinagrette sauce of perfect jibes.

This was an interesting combination, none of which she voiced out loud.

Even so, Rizz seemed to be the one that was thinking most clearly, and Rennie chose to follow her.

Maybe she really was onto something. Or maybe following this group was a waste of time. Rennie didn't know, but of course, without schoolwork she had all the time in the world, so what was to lose?

Rizz grabbed her bag off the ground and followed them out, but quickly took the lead, every once in a while glancing back to make sure the others were keeping up with her.  Around 20 minutes went by and they had walked by an old messed up house with a window that was shattered out and covered by an old garbage bag, but it was still obviously in use, Rizz slowed down so they wouldn't make as much noise, soon after they had gone past the house, they finally came to a very very small trail, there practically wasn't one but right away she spotted it "Almost there..." she said looking back over her shoulder, slowing her pace again as she walked into a very shadowed tree line, it was owned by the people that lived in the wrecked house so it was unexplored except by her, this is where she really had to think about where they were going it was easy to get lost in it, lucky for her the trail was still used by animals so it hadn't completly dissappeared but it was nearly gone, she climbed over a log and looked up at a large tree "This is it..." the tree had a large tree house built in it, which was where they would be staying, Rizz walked over an pulled on a rope making a ladder unfold down the porch area of the tree fort, she climbed up and right away started to clear cobwebs "Come on up, it just the way I left it, well for the most part." there were a few posters hanging on the log walls that were the word parents with a big red slash through them a somewhat ripped rug covering the ground a twin size matteress which was in a fairly ok condition that had a few blankets and a chair with a cushion on it, the roof didn't leak and the window shutters stayed closed on a windy day and the door latched shut, it was almost in a newly built condition. "Well, welcome to home sweet runaway home."

Darrin smiled and climbed up the rope ladder, followed by Thomas. He sat down his bag and stood up, looking around. 'Not bad' he thought as his eyes scanned the room. "And you say you built this yourself?"  he said amazed. "That's pretty cool." he said, Rizz seemed to be the most level  headed person around here, besides Thomas, but he was pretty emotionally unstable.

Thomas enetered the room and sat down, he looked around the room curiously, his green eyes flickering with curiosity, you could tell that he actually felt safe here. And that seemed ratcher strange if you considered why he was their in the first place.

Rennie paused under the tree, narrowing her eyes. At least it wasn't under a house, but she knew that just climbing the ladder and walking in when she hadn't done much more vocally than give a warning, would be rather awkward for everyone present.

Of course, which would be better, staying down here, or going up there?

Neither option seemed particularly inviting. "Well, now what." She sighed inwardly, wondering if completely ditching this group and going off on her own would be a better idea. She'd heard the phrase 'safety comes in numbers' plenty of times, but wasn't entirely convinced of its accuracy.

The redhaired girl leaned against a nearby tree, keeping in its shadow, folding her arms, and decided to wait.

Rizz nodded as she stood in the one corner next to one of the small windows and said "Thanks." she glanced over seeing a small bird perched up on the window sill chirping his head off "Hope you don't mind having visitors every once in a while, this little guy has been coming here ever since I started to built it, but like I said I haven't been here in a while, he must have a lot to tell me about what's been going on around here since I've been gone considering he wont be quiet." she walked over towards the bird who right away hopped up into her hand "His name's Brother, being he was the closest thing I had to one." She was a big fan of animals and the bird has been with her for quite some time, he tends to keep an eye on things whenever Rizz isn't around and tells her about it when she comes back, there must've been a lot going on because he just kept going on and on in his amusing chirps and whistles.

Sye made a face at Rizz's comments, and nearly laughed when she started to yell at Darrin. It must take talent, she thought,  for a kid to get hurt just walking down the street- armed. When Rizz decided to leave, Sye shrugged and followed- no reason not to. She began to trust Rizz, at least a little bit. WAlking down the street, she was painfully aware of dark it was getting, and hoped thar Rizz really had a place in mind.

When Rizz pulled down the rope ladder, Sye raised an eyebrow but said nothing more, and saw the redhead girl standing off to the side. While the others filed up into the treehouse, Sye slipped off and leaned against a tree far enough to the redhead to not be a bother or seem like a threat, but close enough to talk without screaming.

"Hey," she said, nodding to the girl. She was determined to see what this girl was about. "S'up?" She really didn't say much, but peered up into the trees to listen in to the birdcalls while waiting for a reply.

Rennie watched Sye closely with her blue eye. Okay... At least she wasn't pulling out a knife and throwing it.

"Thomas when he's high on sugar," she replied to the question after a minute's pause. "How about you?"

The other girl was evidently listening to the birdsong of twilight -- Rennie listened, too. So different from everything else she was used to hearing... She took on her trademark pose, leaving one arm folded across her chest and rubbing her chin with the opposite hand. Then she pursed her lips and tilted her chin up a little to whistle back, uttering one crisp note in reply.

Rizz heard a whistle come from below them and she rested her arms on the bottom ledge and looked out the window again still holding the bird,  "Hey, if you're gonna stay down there watch out for the more wild and dangerous animals, we have wolves that come out at night around here." she called down towards them, the bird hopped into a different position on her hand and looked down at them and gave a single chirp as if he was agreeing as he puffed out his feathers, Rizz just stared at the bird with a curious expression "uh huh... yeah ok what he said..." and she went back into the room again and sat on the floor stroking her bird as he finally calmed down a little bit.

"N'much," she replied to the girl, and gazed up into the trees. "I'd like to go hunting, but then again I've always been a bit jumpy."

She watched a bird flit around in the trees, and saw Rizz poke her head out of the house. Ignoring the girl, Sye polished her fingernails and peered over at the girl beside her. "So," she commented, in a casual way, "Just out of curiousity, but what's your name?" Sye herself stood up, wiped her hands on her pants and stepped over to her. Deciding to trust the girl (which might have been a mistake), she stuck out her hand, not sure what to expect and said, "I'm Syeteka, Sye for short. How's about you?"

Rennie watched her carefully with her eye, and tensed just a slight bit, preparing herself for an attack out of taught instinct as the other girl moved toward her. She made an effort to keep her already straight face even straighter and slowly forced the strain to seep out of her muscles.

"Oh, honestly. This 'Sye' girl called herself 'jumpy'? Good grief. Durr, you idiot, she's not going to murder you."

Aloud, Rennie replied to the short greeting with "Sawyer. Rennie Sawyer. Nice t'meet'cha," and gave the proffered hand a firm shake.

Okay, that was a positive sign at least, she decided. Rennie almost stuck her hands in her pockets, and then recalled hearing that that was what you didn't want to do in case of an attack, and let her arms drop to her sides instead.

Sye gave a terse nod, and leaned against a tree a few feet away. She brushed hair out from her face, and raised her eyebrows as she peered at 'Rennie'. "Nice name," she commented lamely. Sye wasn't quite the social girl, and wasn't good in the least at meeting new people, obvoiusly.

"Wonder what the kids are doing up there?" she asked after a moment's pause, glancing away from the girl beside her into the treetop house. "Wonder if we should join them?"

Truthfully, Sye was fine sleeping under or in it, it didn't matter to her. Frankly, she just wanted to see if she could fully trust the boy Darrin and this girl enough to fall asleep near them.

Rennie grunted slightly in reply to the attempted compliment. Whether it was sincere or not crossed her mind, but she dismissed the thought.

"You can if y'want," she responded. "I think I'll take my chances on the ground, though."

Really, her decision was a matter of personal taste -- she preferred a view of the sky, rather than a view of the roof. More freedom-feeling, so to speak. Whether Sye felt the same way wasn't a matter of importance to Rennie at the moment, unless they ended up sleeping on the same terrain.

Rennie wasn't sure what she'd do if that turned out to be the case.

Darrin smiled slightly and sat down in a corner, he rested his head on his sleeping bag and took out a small knife and a block of wood. He began widdling an object, letting his mind wander, and creativity make anything he wanted. Darrin kept carving until he had made a life sized carving of the little bird that Rizz was holding. He then used the tip of the knife to add details and carve the feathers. Darrin had very great artistic talent, and when he makes art, it's like nothing else matters. (Sorry guys for being gone so long)
Rizz opened her bag and pulled out her black leather biker styled jacket out and hung it on a hook type of thing by the door then let out half a yawn as she sat on the hard wooden floor of the tree house leaning against the wall near a rope that she would every once in a while glance over at then look out the window at the sky with her bird perched on her shoulder half asleep, his feathers all puffed out again his eyes partly closed, she looked out the window one more time, this time the sky beginning to show stars, she looked over at the rope again getting a little excited, wont be long now... she thought quietly.

Alone We Stand- And We're All Under 18. (A Runaway RP)
Setting

A fairly large town in the Western side of the USA, with loads of woodland and busy streets. The woods might be considered a safe haven, but there are always forest rangers on the lookout for anythung unusual. There's a small herd of elk somewhere nearby, near the edge of the town in the forest, but nothing else besides rabbits and wolves inhabit them. The woods are fairly easy to search, so you might stand a better chance of toughing it in the cold city allyways.

Plot

These kids are runaways. For their own personal reasons, be it for the challange or to escape family, they're on their own now. Evading the cops, sheltering in hidden coves, and mostly just trying to stay alive and unseen keeps them busy most of the time. They refuse to be caught; in fact, before running away together, they all made a pact to die rather than be caught. Liberty or death is their motto. Their plan? To escape capture until they reach the legal age where they can live by themselves. After that, the cops are off their tails and they are free to do whatever they wish.

These kids are on the run- and they're all under 18.

History

None that I can think of.

Rules

1) No unnecessary blood, gore, detailed romance, or violance. I understand this is a runaway RP, but really people, no 'details'.

2) Only one character, please.

3) Ages must be between 13-16. Nothing over age 16.

4) If you'd like, your character may die- but only if you give the OK. If they die, you may join again with a new character, or use it as a way to quit the RP.

5) NO pets- or siblings! No bringing your horse, dog, cat, parrot, ferret, or even goldfish.  No sisters or brothers as well.

6) Wepons are allowed, and actually incouraged. You may bring something to keep you safe- or to hunt, hmm?

7) To keep things interesting, I may butt in once in a while with a cop, newspaper advertisement, or radio ad, any of which may advertise the missing kids/look for/find the kids. But, I cannot harm your character in any way, unless you wish me to.

8) NO godmodding! You may ONLY control your character! No controling ads, cops, other players, animals, weather, surroundings, or anything else. The only thing OUTSIDE of your character that you may add in once in a while is the parent(s).

9) When creating your character, please include their quirks, crushes, weapons, skills, trinkets/items, and why we're bringing them along.

And that's about it! :)
