Click. Pahanovae heard the noise, but passed it off and contined dozing, trying to enjoy her dream about flying through the air like a bird. Click click click. She growled and pulled her tail over her face, trying to stay asleep. Twenty more clicks, and her curiousity- and annoyance level- forced her to crawl out of her small hollow and investigate the noise. She squinted, yawned, and looked around half-heartedly, looking for the offending creature that had disturbed her precious sleep. A tiny moving speck caught her attention, and Pahanovae impulsively bolted toward the object and attempted to tackle it.
Miziki was making the irritation clicking noise. She was dropping little rocks on top of bigger rocks to see what they would do. She looked up when she heard something running toward her. She stood up and ran toward it as fast as she could. She stopped suddenly as she heard a sound. The sun was beginning to set and that meant the dusk spirits were soon to come out. They're very playful creatures, if you're kind to them. But if you are mean to them, they have been known to set you or something near you on fire.
Pahanovae crashed into her target with nearly full force, sending them both tumbling. She attempted to pull herself up gracefully and just fell on her face. "Eep! What- How- Oh, hello there!" She said brightly, standing up and rustling her feathers to shake the dust off. "Lovely evening, isn't it- Perfect time for hunting insects!" She leapt off to the side and caught a large, sparkling firefly in her mouth, causing her entire jaw to glow for a few seconds. She began to trot back toward her wolf friend, and didn't see the small dark form gleefully sneaking up behind her.

Miziki ran around and tried to catch some bugs with the strange bird-thing. "Are you sure the forest spirits wont mind this?" She asked. She caught another bug in her mouth and spit it out in disgust. "How can you eat these things?" She wiped her tongue on a nearby plant and found something glowing and hiding in the leaves. "Hello, what are you?" She stuck her nose in the bush.

Bi flailed his tiny arms and grabbed onto Miziki's nose. Miziki flailed her nose around then stopped when she saw a little being on it. "Are you a dusk spirit?" She asked. The spirit climbed up onto her nose and crossed his arms. "Are you always this stupid, little wolf?" He asked.

Pahanovae screeched as another playful little spirit popped up in front of her and made her jump. It dissapeared as quickly as it had appeared, with a little giggle and a sparkle. Pahanovae stared for a moment, then quickly got distracted by the swarms of little insects that were now gathering in the deepening gloom. She snapped at a few that went to close to her face, and then turned to see where Miziki had gone. Instead, a pair of glowing eyes stared down at her from a branch, ominous and threatening. Pahanovae frowned, fear filling her eyes, and continued looking around for Miziki.
Miziki looked around. The hours of dusk tended to fade quickly and the dusk spirits always liked to do as much as possible before the night spirits came out. The night spirits were cruel and unkind. Your best bet was to find a burrow or a hollowed out tree. They like to insult the living and sometimes, if you're really mean to them, they will take the animal's soul and put it in their little container. They are easily annoyed so many animals get their souls stolen. The only way to get them back is for one of the animal's friends to go an apologize on their behalf, and the night spirit will usually want to take that animal's soul instead. But, if you capture a morning spirit, you can exchange that for the friend's soul. But this hardly ever happens.

Pahanovae shivered and let out a long, drawn-out call, that bounced off the trees and instantly caused a chorus of similar animal noises. She smiled; living creatures always made everything so much better, rather than the scary little spirits that were beyond her understanding. She quickly sidestepped as one brushed past her face, certainly intent on doing some harm..  She nimbly catapaulted over a fallen log and landed in front of Miziki. Her green eyes sparkling brightly, she stared intently at her friend and began to speak. "We should have a race! First one to the Sky Crator wins!" Pahanovae adjusted her little wooden crown and leaned into a starting positon. "Ready...Set..."

"Go!" A deep voice shouted from the trees. "Leave this place! Go!" It shouted. A large lion that seemed to be engulfed in flames and a blackness stumbled out of the forest. It was being attacked by something, but what?

Miziki was startled. She froze at the sight.

"Leave!" The lion urged.

She stumbled trying to run away. She ran as fast as she could, not looking back to see that the lion had fallen to the ground, dead. His body disappeared in a small, sparkling puff of white vapor. He was turned into a Morning Spirit.

Bi caught up to Miziki and sat on her nose. "What was that about, sweetie?"

Miziki shivered. "I dont know."

Pahanovae froze to the spot, unable to comprehend what was going on. The lion-like creature burst into flames and then poofed, leaving her even more confused. She shook her her head to clear it and then realized everyone had gone. "Miziki- Anyone- Where  are you all?" She cried out and ran in all directions, trying to make sense of this. Something wooshed nearby. "What- What was that? Show yourself!" Trembling, Pahanovae turned around to face her foe- but there was nothing there. A hideous hissing noise started up, and her heart began to race. The hissing ended in giggling, evil-sounding giggling that rattled her hollow bones. "Please- Leave me alone!" She screamed and ran in the direction she hoped was somewhere safe.

Miziki shivered in her paws and looked around at the quickly diminishing last rays of sunlight. Bi looked at her.

"You should find a place to hide." He insisted.

Miziki nodded, getting a hold of herself.

"I know a good spot. I used to hide there back when I was among the living." The funny little spirit giggled and floated through the air, doing spins and somersaults while leading Miziki to a large, ancient stone temple which was now covered in leaves, trees, grasses, and flowers.

"What is this place?" Miziki asked.

"I have no idea! All I know is that it's big and safe!" He laughed and started to fade into the darkening night.

"Go quickly little wolf! I'll be back right before the sun comes up!" He disappeared with a faint giggle and all was quite.

Pahanovae had never been more terrified in her life. She continued screaming and running through the thickening shadows of the forest, hoping desperately that something would save her. She burst through a thick wall of foliage and found herself in a round clearing, mysteriously lit with a yellowish, very soothing light that didn't seem to be coming from anywhere in particular. Pahanovae was stunned into silence. It was so beautiful here- She had never seen this part of the forest before. Off to the sides, towering ivy and massive-leafed bushes kept the darkness at bay. In one corner however, there seemed to be a path leading toward some great crumbling stone structure. She looked around longingly, then took that path and hoped it led somewhere safe.

Miziki gulped and walked slowly to the eerie entrance to the temple. It seemed to moan in a strange and haunting way. She suddenly heard the strange and disturbing cackles of the night spirits. Without hesitation, she darted into the temple.

The inside was huge. There were three huge columns on each side of the room, and a very tall ceiling. There was a large gaping hole in the ceiling where trees and leaves crawled through.

She continued into the temple and saw as the moon illuminated a huge shrine of some sort. She couldn't tell what figure it was, but it must have meant something to the creatures that lived here before. She suddenly heard a sound and turned around.

"Who's there?!" She called out.

Pahanovae wandered aimlessly through the temple, stopping here and there to poke at things hidden beneath centuries of moss and decay. A very lively-looking statue caught her gaze at one point, almost completely intact save for the thick vines wrapping around its head. "Mph. That looks familar.. I wonder what it's from?" Pahanovae thought quietly to herself, while carefully stepping closer to examine it further. Suddenly- She remembered- The stories, the tales told only in a whisper, the tragic legend behind this statue, and gasped. "No- It can't be- Not THAT..." She involuntarily took a step back. "I wonder if anyone else knows this is here.. I.. I must go tell someone- but who?" Pahanovae slowly walked backwards until she was in a different room, a much lighter place with a huge shrine illuminated by moonlinght. She nearly passed out as a small dark form moved in the light, then realized it was Miziki. "Miziki! I MUST tell you something very important, right now! Oh please listen!"

Miziki trotted over to her happily. "What is it?" She asked.

Suddenly, the light from the moon dimmed and they saw a flash and heard a loud crash. Miziki jumped at the sound of the thunder and lightning. It soon started to rain lightly, and it slowly got harder and harder. Soon, there was a large puddle in the middle of the room.

Another spark of lightning flashed, this time hitting the statue. It's eyes lit up in a strange, eerie blue colour. Miziki spun around and saw the statue; it's eyes a scary blue colour. It seemed to say something, but she decided that it was just the thunder.

Wolf Fang and his pack had been hunting when they heard the lightning. Wolf Fang snarled at the sound. "Keep moving," said Wolf Fang. The other werewolves nodded and followed Wolf Fang into the trees. Wolf Fang and his pack came along a big male moose. "Get him boys!" Wolf Fang yelled. The werewolves attacked. The huge moose snorted and took off. The pack followed him. Wolf Fang snarled as he cut around corners to get the moose. The moose headed towards a temple. Wolf Fang growled and chased after it. "Wait Fang!" yelled one of his pack members. Wolf Fang haulted and turned to them. Suddenly, the lightning came again, zapping the werewolf that spoke. "Krone!" Wolf Fang yelled. He leaped forward. Another bolt of lightning came and struck two more pack members. "Bronze! Vix!" Wolf Fang yelled. Another bolt of lightning came, striking the ground in front of Wolf Fang. Wolf Fang flew back and slammed into a tree, knocking him out cold.
