Fern looked down at a smushed troodon. Two dead, prey must die now. Fern raised her sickle claw and sunk it deep into the bulky herbivore neck, hoping she had hit the wind pipe. The ankylosaur bellowed and it's back legs collapsed, causing some troodons to lose their footing. Is it dead? It must be dead now. Fern continued slashing at its neck. The ankylosaurus toppled onto the floor, rolling on its side. The snow was now stained a dark red. Fern screeched and began slashing at its now open belly. She dug her sickle claw deep into its now open belly and dug her jaws in as well.

Zephyr was migrating with her extrended family once again, edmontosaurus, and pachyrhinosaurus. there had been no predatore so far, and all was well. Her newest child was walking with her, keeping up as best it could. occasionally, zephyr would grab the ramainders of plants. when edmontosaurus would get close to her, she would snort and use her shield to push them out of the way, which would sometimes stall the pace of the humongous herd. she bellowed angrily as she gathered her young one next to her side again. Zephyr, with nothing else to listen to but the roars of her own kind, and of the edmontosaurus, also heard the frustrated calls of neary quetzacoatlus, as they were scavengers without a meal.
Flask tore at the facial skin of the ankylosaur, and even ate some of it. when it toppled over on it's side, he dug it's mouth in it's stomach and tore a piece of it off. this might be the last time he ate if more dominant troodons showed up, whicht hey probably would. Flask jumped over the herbivore and assisted his mate in scratching it's neck. As it weakened further, it barely kicked it's legs to hit the offending troodons. this herbivore would be dead in less than a minute if all went well. Flask tore at the top of the ankylosaur's neck, and soon enough, the herbivore went limp. quickly Flask jumped back over to it's stomach and stuffed his mouth with food, tossing ankylosaur meat to his mate every now and then
The ankylosaurus grumbled and its head fell limp. Fern screeched loudly. She quickly sunk her jaws into its soft stomach (that sounds weird) before any of the other carnivores. Other troodons were scrambling to get up since they slipped or got almost smushed by its heavy tail. A older troodon hissed at Fern, shoving her aside and began eating where Fern was. Fern backed up, she let out a low growl. She snapped at the larger troodon making him step back. Before she could reach out to get a strip of meat, she was pushed to the ground. The older troodon screeched at her and continued his feast. Fern hissed and walked over to her mate.
Flask was still feasting for a few minutes until he realized that an older troodon had shoved his mate out of the way, and ate where she was. not only was this Flask's chance to prove himself, but since this was one of the higher ranking troodons, he could raise his dominance as well! he swallowed his last bit of meat before hissing at the older troodon, now challenging him to a fight. this old male had experience, but he lacked health...as he was now getting old.  Flask wasted no time in charging at the male, scratching his neck with his front claws, as well as his eyes-what he could reach of them, that is. In retaliation, the older male managed to bite at flask's shoulder, but at least he didn't wound him too much before flask shoved the elder onto the ground, screeched in his face, and bit one of his hind legs. Feeling accomplished, Flask went back to the ankylosaur carcass and began feeding once more, finally the younger males were wary of him, and his mate as well.
Comet soared above large herds of herbivores. He looked down and spotted a young edmontosaurus lagging behind the group. Comet lowered himself down, and watched as bigger pterosaurs began going down as well. Comet sqwawked angrily and dove down towards the juvenile. He picked it up with his talons and rose up. He knew if he dropped it from a far height, it would die from the fall. But, once it died, the other Quetzocoatlus would take his rightful kill. Comet continued trying to rise up with the weak young herbivore. Another Quetzocaotlus crashed into him making him drop the herbivore.
Zephyr kept on marching with her young pachyrhinosaurus along with her. She had successfully ignored the screeches of the quetzalcoatlus...there was no way they were going to hurt her soon, but she was more wary about them hurting her young. Zeohyr turned her head around to see that a pterosaur had picked up a young edmontosaurus, with another angry quetzalcoatlus trying to pick it from it's claws. but then it fell. Zephyr snorted, and charged at the scavengers that were currently on ground, her young one right behind her charge. most of the pterosaurs flew away, but she caught an unlucky pterosaur by it's wing, and broke the bone that connected it to it's body. That one wouldn't last a few days if she judged correctly. the pachyrhinosaurus snorted, and went back to join the herd.

Fern watched as her mate fought the older troodon. She hissed loudly and continued her feast. She waved her tail now and then to beckon off any other troodons. A sudden breath of cold wind blew through her feathers attaching snow as well. The snow was already deep enough that she couldn't see her own talons. The wind also brought another thing, scent. Fern raised her head and began letting scents drift into her nostrils. Something is not right. There was a low gurgle coming from somewhere, too low to be from the troodons. The ankylosaur couldn't have done it, it was dead. Was it someone's stomach?

Fern turned around, looking for any trace of something lurking in the trees. There were now loud stomps and growls. Another ankylosaurus? No... Fern screeched at the sight in front of her. She ran back to the carcass and leaped behind the dead ankyolsaur. Other troodons followed her gaze, a Gorgosaurus appeared from the trees.

Comet quickly flew up before the frilled herbivore rammed into her. He looked back down to see a Quetzalcoatlus get it's wing snapped. The injured pterosaur fell to the ground, flapping its only useful wing. Comet soared over the moving herd waiting for a herbivore to fall dead. He kept his gaze on the same little edmontosaurus. The young edmontosaurus ran towards the herd.

The herd was now about to move on a large frozen lake. Comet went down to the ground. He rested for a short while still keeping an eye for a fallen herbivore.  A edmontosaurus took the first step onto the ice, it was not too slippery, but they could fall through.

Zephyry was one of the last herbivores to step on the frozen lake. she nudged her youngling closer to her side before cautiously steeping on the ice. but then it started to crack, fear kept her moving forwards...but although she did not fall in herself, and elder edmontosaurus did, but a sea dinosaur quickly snatched it up before it could get it's feet on 'solid' ground. Some herbivores lost their battle by getting trapped on icy floes.... at least zephyry was with the herd still...suddenly, a large crack separated her from her youngling and the rest of the herd. she bellowed in panic, and, not knowing what else to do, jumped into the fridgid water and swam to the ice that had the majority of the herd still on it, zephyry struggled to get her whole body onto the ice, but after less than a minute did she barely make it, as a hungry plesiosaur snapped at the air. but now zephyr was behind, and her youngling was lost into the circle of the herd.

Fern screeched at the large Carnivore before them. She took a few steps back to stand side by side with her mate. The gorgosaurus gurgled and creeped closer, emergering from the dense trees. A veteran troodon leaped onto the large predator, scrambling up onto its back. The gorogosaurus roared as it felt claws pierce its sides. The large theropod began twisting its head back and forth trying to grab the veteran. The veteran troodon slipped and fell into the snow. The gorogosaurus didn't hesistate, it grabbed the troodon and flung it to a tree.

Fern watched in anger and fear and the veteran collied into the tree, hearing an awful crrack! Fern leaped on top of the ankylosaurus's side and screeched.

Flask ate as much as he could, since this would probably be one of his last big meals until late spring came and the herbivores made their way back to the tundra. then he saw it. it being a gorgosaurus. he jumped up on the side of the dead ankylosaur along with his mate, hissing and spitting at the larger carnivore. one on one, a troodon would be no match for such a predator, but there were numerous troodons here, and, as if to rally them to defend this kill, he made his unique call, similar to the one he made when attracting a mate. Soon, a couple of other troodons joined him, hissing in unison, their sickle claws clincking against the armor of the ankylosaur. This large predator-gorgosaurus- was outnumbered AND outmatched.
Comet watched from above as a elder edmontosaurus was pulled down by a Progathnodon. He had to be careful, those jaws could leap up from the water and snap his wings. He stayed at a fair height, impossible for a Progathnodon to reach him from there. A large part of ice snapped and seperate the mother pachyrhinosaurus and young from earlier. There it is... He spotted the young pachyrhinosaurus getting smushed between other herbivores. There was no space for him to dive down, and the young pachyrhinosaurus was much too heavy for him to carry. He watched as the mother herbivore bellowed for its infant. Many herbivores either sunk into the water, or were dragged down. Up in the distance a big pterosaur swooped down only to be caught by a Progathnodon snapping it out of the air.
Zephyr had somewhat caught up to the herd now, at least she hadn't been a meal to any under water beast. on the downside, she lost her baby...she snorted in frustration, she would've kicked something, but that would cause the ice still under her to collapse, and then where would she be? nowhere pleasant. Zephyr desperately bellowed over and over again for her babies, but that was drowned out by the constant roaring of other species....she picked p her pace slightly, as she was still behind, but maybe her child was close enough, and zephyr might be able to see it.....but what if it lost it's life already, and zephyr just didn't see? In panic again, she ran forward to catch up, a cascade of ice falling into the water, and, although being stocky for an herbivore, she was still quite fast. Zephyr was relieved to feel solid ground once again....but not so much as she could not see her offspring.
The gorgosaurus roared and began making mock-lunges, causing some troodons to fall back. Fern chattered her teeth, a low growl emerging from her throat. The gorgosaurus lunged at the group of troodons. While the gorgosaurus lowered its head, Fern leaped onto its snout, clambering up onto its back. She couldn't stay to close to its neck or else the large theropod could turn his head and grab her. She tried doing what the veteran troodon did. She held on with her back claws and pierced the carnivore's thick coat of feathers and skin. She slashed her front claws down its back. The gorgosaurus shook its self back and forth. Other troodons leaped atop the large theropod or began attacking its legs.

Polarized: March of the Dinosaurs RP
Setting
Canada during the cretaceous, though herbivores and some carnivores will migrate to present-day U.S. and even down further to find more food.
Plot
You're a dinosaur of the late/early cretaceous of Canada, but the seasons seem to be harsher there, the winters are colder, and for some dinosaurs, this is their first time seeing snow. Would you be able to live in this harsh, unstable environment? or will you perish trying?
History
History will be made up as you go on.
Rules

1. general EX rules

2. No too flashy colors. Males during the breeding season may have some  brightly colored feathers to attract the ladies. but still no rainbow feathers o3o

3. use body language! Dinosaurs cannot speak with words, but they can sure use their body.

 4. Troodons grow to full grown at a year old(age 1), as well as edmontosaurus, but the other herbivores/carnivores grow up at age 2/2 years old
