The moon shone brightly on the city, illuminating everything in sight. It exposed smooth, un-tarnished buildings without a hint of age or decay. In a small patch of shadows, behind a short stack of wooden crates, Azora crouched and hoped that the moon would miss her temporary hiding spot. She peered out for a moment, fearfully watching the street for the slightest movement. Azora knew the punishment all too well if she was caught outside at this hour. "Stupid city laws.... Nothing to be afraid of late at night." She muttered. She couldn't resist though; the city was just so beautiful at night. Various signs and decorations glowed and pulsated, beckoning one to step inside a shop and buy something. Azora took a deep breath and sprinted across the street to the only shop open at this time- a small, little-known cafe snack-store. She scanned the building and saw that no one seemed to be there- the storekeeper appeared to be absent as well. Azora chose a random booth and sat down. She picked up a local newspaper that someone had left there, and skimmed the articles looking for anything interesting that was not related to the "Happiness levels" of the city. Suddenly the door jingled, and Azora instinctivly pulled her dark hood over her head.
Es walked down the quite city streets, the only light coming from the streetlamps. She hung her head low and kept her hands in her pockets, away from the night's cold bite. She walked to the only building in the city that still had it's lights on. She pushed open the door as is jangled. She glanced over to see a girl hide her face in her jacket. She rolled her eyes and gave a small sigh. She walked over to the girl and pulled out a chair and sat down. "What brings you here at this hour?" she asked with a smile.
Azora suspiciously watched this stranger. She seemed friendly enough; but Azora knew better than to trust people she had never seen before. "I would ask you the same question." She said coolly. Just then the store keeper came out of a door in the back. He glanced toward the two girls and then started cleaning a smoothie-making machine on the counter. Azora breathed a sigh of relief that he didn't seem to notice either of them. Es just sat expectantly, waiting for Azora to answer. Finally she spoke up. "I'm just out for a late-night walk, how about you?" She said quietly.
Luke sulked in the shadows watched a butterfly fly steadily in the breeze. It landed next to him and he stabbed it with his dagger. He narrowed his eyes and crossed his arms glaring at the white brick wall across from him. He sighed and got up and sheathed his dagger again and looked at the smashed white butterfly in disgust and watched everyone outside his alleyway where he stayed most of his life now that he didn't have a home. He saw two girls- about his age, probably younger. He leaned against the wall and watched them with narrowed eyes.
Es stared at the girl. "This is the only time of day I have to myself." She gave a heavy sigh and examined her black nails. She looked over her shoulder to see a figure in the shadows watching them from a distance. She nudged the girl next to her. "Hey! Are you seeing this? Who is that guy?" She asked, almost worried. She stood up and pressed herself against the glass window to get a closer look. She gestured for the other girl to come and look with her. She looked out and saw the figure was a boy about their age. He didn't look too dangerous, but he looked angry.
Azora stood up from the table and moved toward the door, though it was against her better judgment. She watched Es carefully to see her reaction, however she was still watching from window. Azora saw the strange boy fiddling with a flashing piece of metal- Was that a dagger?!" Azora was horrified. Weapons were almost un-heard of in their town, there was almost no need for them... She motioned for Es to join her. "That stranger is armed- We should stay clear of him." It was still rather dark outside, and Azora almost didn't see the two "Peace Guards" coming up the street. "Some peace...Hah!" Azora growled. These Guards were the replacement of police-officers, and supposedly were more friendly and only helped guide everyone. However, they were often cruel and only instilled fear into those who weren't following the rules or were runaways.
Luke watched them carefully, noting that they saw his dagger and the one with white hair seemed fearful of it. Luke crossed his arms and they continued to watch them warily, he could see their lips move, so they were talking to each other, probably warning each other of him. Luke scoffed and continued to glare at them, wondering why they were so alone, he wondered if they could be easy prey- or good for getting information on what the government officals of this town were planning. He continued to ponder looking distracted by his thoughts but then stared at the girls again with narrowed, cold eyes.
Es noticed that the guy was glaring at them. She wanted to go out there and see what her wanted, but she knew the other girl would not approve. She looked at her and asked anyway. "Should we go out there and see what he wants? he looks lost or something." She looked back at him with a cold stare. She noticed two "Peace Guards" walking down the street. She didn't want to get caught, not tonight. She grabbed Azora's arm and dragged her into a corner. "Come on! If we stay near the window, they're gonna see us!"
Azora huddled in the corner fearfully. not wanting to know what would become of the strange boy outside. The guards would see him for sure- There was no where to hide. Azora stared at the shopkeeper who seemed obvlious to anything going on inside or outside. He just keep cleaning and moving things around.  Azora expected to hear yelling or screaming, but it seemed dangerously quiet outside. She wanted to go see what was going on, but that was unthinkable. She nearly passed out when one of the guards stuck his ugly face in the glass and looked around the interior of the cafe. He didn't seem inclined to come in though- something was keeping him out. Azora briefly wondered what and then turned toward Es. "Do you think we should go out there? I think something's happened- it is waaay too quiet."
Luke smiled and a Guard surrounded him in his alleyway. Luke cackled and flew into the shadows and seemingly disappeared, he climbed onto a short building and looked over the edge and the Guard trying to catch him looked fearful to see Luke disappeared and he shouted to other one who moved away from the cafe and went to search for Luke with his comrade. Luke crossed his arms and looked at the girls again, the didn't seem them well because he was so high up and they hid. Luke knew he had to keep the guards away from them as a distraction, he didn't know why but he  wanted to help them somehow.

Es looked at Azora. "I think we should go help him. What if the guards catch him!? Or worse, what if they catch us!? We have to do something!" She sprang up, ignoring Azora's small protest and ran out the door, her legs beating against the cold, black asphalt. She saw the boy on a small, nearby building. She stood still and noticed the Peace Guards were paying attention to him and they didn't notice Es hiding in the shadows behind them. 'We need to get rid of them without killing them...' She thought, crouching down and touching her hand to the ground.

Azora paused for a moment and then raced after Es. She quickly caught up and crouched down nearby. "Those guards are impossibly tough- How are we going to get rid of them?" She hissed to Es. Azora scanned the ground nearby and noticed a thick, rusted piece of metal rotting away in a corner where no one would see it. "Odd....They're usually so picky over things like this..." She mused. Azora darted over, grabbed the metal with both hands, and pulled. To her horror, it made an awful screeching, grinding noise as the metal scraped against the hard ground. Both guards briefly looked her direction, and Azora dropped the metal with a clang. She knew she had made a deadly mistake- The guards were running her direction now. She panicked and began to flee, but suddenly remember Es and the strange boy and turned around.
Es gave herself a facepalm and got up. She picked up a nearby rock and threw in in a direction away from Azora. The guards ran toward the rock so see if it was another escapee. Es scoffed, "Idiots..." She walked out of the shadows and grabbed Azora's arm and gestured for the boy to follow them. She dragged Azora back into the shop and waited for the boy to come, or to stay where he was. She saw the guards give up and continue down the streets. When she was sure they were gone, she got up and waited near the door for the boy to show up, if he was even going to.
Luke stared at Es slightly thankfully and climbed down, he followed farther behind and arrived slightly staring at Es. He crossed his arms, not wanted to speak yet. It was a few minutes and he spoke, his voice cracked slightly from not using it much, "What are your names and why did you help me while I was helping you?" He said slightly untrusting. He watched them, not wanting to give out his name until he knew their business and names, he scoffed at how simple his name was. She stared at his dagger in a case attached to his waist and it layed on his hip. He wondered if he needed to use it on these girls.
Es looked at Azora then looked at the boy and stood up. She glared into his eyes, her gaze seemed to go right through him. She slammed her hand on the table. "Why do you need to know?! Our business is our business and nobody else's." She said coldly. She remembered his dagger, but continued to glare into his eyes. The man at the counter continued to obliviously wipe down tables and counters, rearrange random bags of chips and candy bars, and check the cash register. Es shifted her glare to the man behind the counter. She silently hoped he wasn't some sort of spy then glared back at the boy.

Nirvana
Setting

the very large city of Nirvana. There is little to no reason to leave; the city has everything. Parks the size of a small forest, shopping malls built to immense sizes, enough housing to shelter millions of
people, and more.

Among the tall spires of the main city, there are a few places worth noting:

The Academy of high learning and perfect intelligence, also known as the Academy of Nirvana and also Death.....

Elders'Meeting Hall
This hexagon-shaped building is the meeting place of the city's leaders and the place where the most important decisions are made. Anyone is permitted to enter and listen in to the conversation, but truly important matters are discussed in secret.

There are more, but those will come up later ;D

Plot

In the seemingly perfect town of Nirvana, life flows seamlessly. Nothing is crooked or wrong; everything is just right. There is no crime, and all the citizens coincide with each other perfectly. The buildings are new and plastered white. They are tall and proud; the trees and grasses are always green, the flowers always in bloom. There is never a rainstorm, nor is it ever too hot or too cold. Everyone is kind and friendly, and they all are very smart. There are new things being made every day by these smart people. It is truly the ultimate Utopia.

However, a small group of young people have sensed that there is something being hidden from them. A dark secret; the fact that their paradise is NOT perfect, that not everything is the way it seems. It begins with them being taken from their homes and sent to a mysterious 'boarding school' called "The academy of Nirvana". It is in fact no ordinary boarding school. Sinister and evil things go on here.

The local leaders and parents seem oblivious to the horrors; they believe the school to simply be another wonderful place in their perfect town. They must be made to see, but how?
Escaping from the school is no easy task; the long and oppressive list of rules makes sure of that. Even if one does miraculously manage to escape, they are forced to spend the rest of their lives in hiding and constant fear.

"Graduating" from this place is another story ;D

Escapee's are not the only ones I hiding; many, many other rejected people skulk in Nirvana's shadows....

The rules of the Academy of Nirvana:

1: any student caught outside of the marked grounds will be eliminated
2: any student who decides to rebel against authority will be eliminated.
3: any student who is caught speaking when not spoken to will be eliminated.
4: any student who is caught communicating with anyone from the outside will be eliminated.
5: Elimination is very serious and permanent. It cannot be undone or ignored.

6: Students must be on time to all of their classes, meals, and other activities.

History

History:

Years and years of incredibly hard work was used to create this care-free society. Disease has been all but destroyed; war is only something found in the dictionary. Crime is very rare, so law enforcement is virtually gone.

Nearly every device imaginably has been invented, making life very easy for most people.... However, advanced technology only makes life harder for those who are trying to run away or hide.
