Maria followed his lead, pushing her trash into the brown paper bag and placing it in the garbage.

"He'll be there? That sounds like it will be quite the disturbing experience. I'm beginning to get the impression he collects slaves and buys them for fun instead of out of need. It makes his life seem terribly boring."

Maria had met many people in her life, but none had the same aura that Greyson seemed to have. It was what had made her eager to join his staff and work on his property. If he was that interesting, she had thought, then surely his slaves would be interesting in themselves. So far she hadn't been too disappointed.

"In a way, that's true. It is entertainment to him, the money that comes out of it is just extra." Clayton said. "He's hardly bored though. I have heard rumors that he has taken another pup to train into a watcher." Clayton made his way out of the building. Two humans were at the door and looked at them with distrusting and hateful eyes. Clayton looked down and moved quickly out. "No food is allowed to leave the mess hall. They don't want you giving it to people that got their food taken away." Clayton explained. It was always upsetting when someone was forced to fast. It made Clayton want to sneak food for them. But if he did that, he wouldn't be fed as well.

"That makes sense - I'll have to teach you how to conceal carry. It's a highly useful skill and looks like it shouldn't be too hard," Maria murmured, already formulating ideas and tests she might want to put Clayton through.

Through her years Maria had greatly expanded and worked on her thieving skills. They had saved her more than they had gotten her in trouble, and there had been many times where she relied on those skills to get her out of a jam. Though she preferred to steal her moral codes kept her from going overboard. Of course, she had a feeling that it wasn't going to be much of Clayton's style.

Clayton seemed pretty horrified by the suggestion of stealing. Attempting excape was bad enough, but now Maria was going to add stealing on top of it. "Why would you want to do that? You can get food outside can't you?" Clayton said. Food came from somewhere, and that somewhere had to be the outside world. So why couldn't they just get it there? Why would stealing nessisary? "If you get caught you'll get food taken from you." He said. Clayton looked around quickly. Maria didn't seem to care about where she spoke of these things. If a watcher overheard that would be the end of all their plans. They would be reported in a instant.

"The art of thievery is a necessary one and has saved my life many times. I doubt it's one you'll need to use often in the outisde, but it's essential nonetheless. You'd be amazed how many times it's applicable to a situation," Maria said softly, reaching at her hair to twirl it around her forefinger.

She noted her friend's worry and appreciated his caution - he was a good partner to have. They balanced one another out nicely; he was too cautious, and she was too reckless. Suddenly a thought struck her.

"You know, dear, I'm relying on you not to tell anyone anything we talk about no matter what the punishment or pressure they put on you. We're dependent on one another now. If you fall, so do I, and if I fall, well, I'll try my best to catch you or make sure you aren't there to get in trouble."

Clayton nodded slowly. The more things that got added to this plan the more he felt like it wasn't a good idea. Now Maria was asking him to lie as well. She wanted him to lie about their plans when asked.

"Hopefully it won't come to that." He said. Clayton paused at a fork in the road and looked down both paths. He then turned to Maria.

"Can we please drop this subject for a little while so we can get through with what I was meant to do with you? If they find out you haven't learned anything it'll be on my head." He said.

Maria stared at him, studying his character. Through her eyes she saw him as damaged goods, a fragile glass sculpture that had been chipped and fractured over the years. Those fissures and lost splinters were now just a part of who he was, but it was still a sorry sight to see something so wonderful in such a poor state.

She opened her mouth but hesitated before speaking. She gave him an odd look with furrowed brows like she was looking at something that confused her, then said,

"Alright, whatever you would like. You call the shots, then - lead me on."

Clayton looked relived by Maria's answer and he smiled softly.

"Thank you." He said. Clayton picked a pathway and started walking down it.

"There are some places you are not allowed in unless it aplies to your job. There are places for paid workers only, places for watchers only and places for pregnate or nursing women. Your not allowed in any of those buildings. Your also forbidden to go into any place that is for males only. Sleeping areas and bathrooms and such." Clayton explained. He stopped at a door of a building and pointed to a small square of paint beside it. It was a green color.

"This is a building for paid workers only because it's marked green. Many places are color coded. I can get you a paper with the list. However you do learn the buildings over time." Clayton said.

"So," Maria said, "Speaking theoretically, what would be the punishment where I to sneak into the male rest house to say hello to you in the middle of the night or while you're sick in bed during the afternoon? For that matter, is there a punishment for getting locked out of the bedrooms at night? Do they keep any kind of record of those who miss 'lights out' time?"

Maria rarely asked a pointless question, especially when she was compiling information to help her play a game. Everything she learned during her time at the Great Property would provide her with tools for a smooth escape, and the sooner she gained those facts and tidbits, the sooner she could begin formulating a plan.

"I don't see how you could in the middle of the night being that everything is locked up." Clayton said. At the moment he was feeling quite thankful that it was locked since he didn't like the idea of Maria popping in like that. He had a hard enough time sleeping in the dark. He didn't like not being able to see what was around him. Werewolves did have good night vision, but only as a wolf.

"In the middle of the day though? I don't know, I haven't heard of anyone doing that. I guess you would loose the right to sleep indoors." He said.

"If you don't get to your room in time then you gotta sleep outside for the night. It's aweful. It is so cold and there isn't anything but the ground to sleep on. Plus there are people walking around to make sure no one tries to break out." Clayton explained. "It happened to me once, I got distracted and didn't get there in time. I just curled up as a wolf to try to stay warm. But my wolf's color is on the darker side and one of the humans didn't see me and stepped on me."

Maria's eyes lit up like she had been given the good news of the century. "Your coat is dark? How wonderful. It must be lovely, I'm sure."

She fought back shivers of joy at this new information. Dark coats made stealth work so much easier, something that had always been an aid to her in her work. It was as beneficial as being able to get locked outside for the night. Ideas and plans were beginning to click into place quite neatly like a puzzle that had been waiting to be put together. It was almost a shame, she thought, that only the two of them would be escaping - or so was her impression on the topic.

"Well, yeah." Clayton said. "Your wolf matches your hair color. Well, not always. Orca's is black and white but his hair is just black. That's selective breeding for ya." He smiled softly.

"I think I can safely guess your wolf is black." He said matter of fact. He gestured for her to follow him and he walked down the path. He felt it was best to walk while they talked. He was quite happy they were talking about the things he was told to talk to her about. The thought of excaping still made him worried. Though he made Maria think he was on board, he still was on the fence about it. It made him feel aweful, it felt like lying in a way.

"Selective breeding is so... barbaric... in my opinion, of course. I think natural colors are more true to the person."

Maria had only met a few other wolves in her lifetime that were like Orca, and she had never gotten along with any of them. She, as a werewolf, was more connected to her wild side and had a great dislike for anyone who failed to embrace or pay attention to their more feral nature.

"I think my coat accurately reflects my nature. Putting that aside, however, do tell me what we're up to next. I'm almost beginning to enjoy these informational conversations."

"There is one more very important area." Clayton started. As he spoke the said area came into view. It was a large open area that was allowed to grow naturally and freely. Around it was a fall electric fence and a strong looking door.

"That is where you go at fullmoon. That is if your wolf isn't violent. If it causes problems there is a other building where it'll be tied up through the night so it can't hurt anyone else." Clayton explained. "It is quite interesting how different a wolf's personality can be compared to the person. There is one watcher that's wolf is a compete coward. Don't talk about it though, it weees him off." Clayton looked at Maria, smiling widely.

Maria laughed, then quieted slowly as if a sudden realization had made her think differently about her initial reaction. Her smile faded away, and she looked at the enclosure thoughtfully. Her own wolf form during the night of the full moon was far from being peaceful, but it wasn't entirely violent either - it always reminded her that she was born to be free and roam as she pleased without anything or anyone getting in her way.

She turned and looked at Clayton with a look full of interest before asking rather intrusvely, "What are you like during the full moon?"

The Pound
Setting

The facility has walls lined with cells, each consisting of three concrete walls, a bare floor, a low ceiling and a wall of clear acryilic which faces the aisle and doubles as a door.

Presently, it's morning and the pound as just opened up for the day.

Plot

The world is such that is condones slavery-- of gifteds, werewolves, vampires and the like. The slave trade is a booming industry, making millionaires within months. Everyone has their own reasons for owning the creatures, some require extra help around the house, others see it as a way to display their wealth, and still others buy them just for the pleasure of breaking them.

As with all things, some people grow tired of their slaves. Now, selling them would take time and energy that some either don't have or are unwilling to waste it on a slave. That is where the 'pound' comes in. They take the discarded slaves, no questions asked and sell them for cheap.

History
The roleplay was made.
Rules

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PLOT WAS NOT MADE UP BY ME!

This roleplay as copied straight from another roleplay from a website called MaraPets. The person who made this roleplay is called Rainkit. Do not give me credit for this, as I did not think of it.

Also please note that I do not in anyway think that slavery is okay in real life!

You may join as a human, gifted, werewolf or vampire.

Humans are never slaves.

Please keep the number of humans and slaves around even, without both of them the roleplay doesn't work.

Don't make slaves with extreamly dangerous powers, they would have been killed, not sold as slaves.

The point of the roleplay is not to stay in the pound, humans should come in and buy slaves then take them home. It is the person who is controling the human's responsabilty to create a setting. For example a farmhouse, or a big expensive house.

Don't make masters who treat their slave's as equals, its over used and quite frankly, really boring.

You can make a slave who was born into slavery or has never spend a day of their lives as slaves, just make up a good reason why they were never caught.

A quick note on slave breeding. First off don't roleplay anyone doing the deed please!

Second, for werewolves they will give birth to a litter rather than a single child. This is because they cannot change from human to wolf while pregnate or they'll kill their children. Since full moon forces a change, they got to stay as a wolf 100% of the time while pregnate. The litter will be born as pups and will stay as pups until about a month or so until they can shift to their human form.
