Clayton looked at her in surprise. This person had not been born into slavery? She actually had been free beforehand? That meant that she may have been human had some point and was turned into a werewolf rather than born as a one. That seemed aweful, to be free and safe and then studdenly you've been turned and thrown into the system of slaves.

People came in often that were from other places simular to this one, but as far as Clayton knew none of them had been born free. The closest anyone got to seeing the outside world is when someone got 'rented' and were sent out to do work somewhere else for a little while. Some slaves got send out to auction but they never came back.

"I got enough stuff to do here," He said, laughing. He tried to sound like he didn't have an intrest in the world outside the property but didn't quite cover the curiostity.

"I haven't met anyone who has been free at any time in their lifes so I don't really know anything about anything outside of this place." He explained.

Maria nodded and smiled back at him. "It's a wonderful place, really. There's so much to learn and explore. One day I'll get the chance to go backpacking around the world."

The girl now regarded him in a new light. It must have been an odd experience not knowing what was beyond the estate fence. She couldn't imagine what it would be like without basic knowledge about the outside world, and it gave her the impression that he had an innocence that she never had the chance to experience.

"So you've never been camping, then? Or... I suppose you've never had to survive off of your own hunting abilities... There must be so little you know..."

"You mustn't talk like that," Clayton whispered. "Someone will think you want to excape." He looked at her worriedly.

He was slightly hurt by her 'so little you know' comment. He knew a lot of things, many things he knew for a fact she didn't know. He never needed to know anything about the outside world, why would he? He never went out there. That was what he kept telling himself, that he had no need for that kind of information, but he was becoming more and more interested in the subject.

He noticed that they should have been at their destination already. Confused, he looked around, wondering if he had made a wrong turn. Then he realised why they weren't there, he had slowed his pase so that he could talk to Maria longer.

He was a little annoyed with himself for delaying. He had it drilled into him that all task should be finished as soon as possable but here he was dilly-dallying.

Maria leaned in close and whispered back, 'Who says I don't intend to?"

Then she pulled back and laughed softly, tossing her hair back in a carefree manner. Her eyes were oddly wild in a way that expressed her more wolfish nature. The idea of actually staying cooped up in one place forever, no matter how big, was a joke in Maria's mind. She wouldn't allow anything to keep her from freedom, even if that was something that seemed far off.

"Of course, there's always something new to learn, even here." Then she smiled at him nicely. "I'm sure you have much to teach me."

Clayton's body stiffened when he processed the words Maria whispered to him. He looked at her in horror. Clayton had always been told to report anyone who wanted to excape, but now that it was actually happening he was doubting himself that it was the right thing to do or not.

"Maria..." He started. "Your not serious are you? Do you have any idea what kind of punishments are given to those who try that?" He spoke in a low and careful tone. He had seen what happened to slaves that tried to excape. They were locked up, starved and beaten for months. Sometimes they were even forced to walk on burning coals. It wasn't a pretty sight, and he didn't want to see that happening to Maria.

Maria looked at him amusedly. His concern nearly made her laugh, though she doubted that was a good response, especially when taking his fragile way of thinking into mind. He was one of the type that she knew would never think about escaping unless he was convinced very thoroughly by another, one who lacked the strength for freedom unless encouraged.

"Darling, what you don't seem to understand is I really don't care what happens to me. I'm only here because I want to be - I could have left that pound I was kept in months ago, and I can leave here any time I want. Of course I'm serious. One doesn't taste freedom and then give it up so easily."

She closed her eyes and pulled in a deep breath of air, savoring the scent of the outdoors. Then she stretched her arms widely and stopped to stare at her guide.

"Don't you want outside? Don't lie to me. I'd hate for your lovely voice to be spoiled with a false word."

Clayton looked away from Maria. He was nervous, confused and unsure what to say or do. He had been taught never to even think about excape let alone speak about it, but he had also been taught never to lie, even to another slave. He looked up an saw the building he was leading Maria to.

"We're here." He said and he sped up his steps.

Hopefully he was able to avoid Maria's question. He wasn't sure how to answer it, therefore he felt it was best to ignore it and try to forget it happened. Clayton did not want to report Maria, but he also didn't want anyone learning that he knew about her plans of excape and didn't say anything. That was almost as bad as actually running off.

Maria glanced at the building before turning her dark eyes back on Clayton. He was ignoring her question, and she wasn't about to let him get away without an answer.

"What if I wanted you to come with me? Would you?" she asked, looking up at him through her bangs. "What if I could promise you the outside world? Freedom from slavery? Being able to run wild during the full moon?"

Her gaze was steady, piercing, and her posture was tightened with curiosity. She barely cared at all about her plans being found out in comparison to knowing the answer Clayton would give - in part she wanted to prove to herself that she wasn't the only slave who wanted freedom so badly, that she wasn't the only slave who didn't care about the 'authority'.

Clayton stopped and looked back at Maria. His expresion was unsure and confused. He shifted his weight uncomfortably and avoided her gaze.

"Why must you force this question on me?" He asked. About a mintue past before he formed his next words. "I, I don't know, it's dangerous and..." He struggled for words. "The amount of trouble you'll get into. Master will not rest until he finds you."

He looked up suddenly and looked straight at Maria. It was strange for him, he rarely ever looked another person in the eye, even other slaves.

"Please don't go through with this, you don't even know if you like it here or not." He said.

"Sweetie, you can't expect me to love it here forever."

She sighed and gave him a look of bleak disappointment, as if she had expected something bigger and better out of him.

He's just another slave, isn't he? I thought he might have been different, but I suppose they're mostly the same, Maria thought to herself.

Aloud, she added, "You're assuming the master even has the ability to find me, let alone get the chance to stay around long enough to catch me."

Inwardly she was gleefully awaiting his reply. She had lived the whole beginning of her life escaping people, and she was more than confident she could outwit and outlive anyone who stood in the way of her freedom.

Clayton saw the disapointment in Maria's expresion and his heart learched. He hated to have people be upset with him, it caused him to feel awful and stressed. Clayton looked around very quickly before he spoke again.

"Look Maria, I admit that living free sounds interesting." Clayton whispered. "But I have no idea how to live outside of this place and I do not beleive that I would be able to learn about it while trying to hide from hunters. I just can't do it, the punishments is too high and the chances of being caught is too high." Clayton's tone was uneaven and strange, like he was struggling to keep it steady.

She reached out and wrapped her pinkie around his and leaned in a bit to say with a mischievous glint in her dark eyes,

"Then perhaps I should just teach you - we can do an information swap, mine on the outside world for yours on all that goes on in here and how things work. You should be outer-world-ready within a matter of weeks or months. You seem like the best person here, and I think it would be such a shame to leave you here to rot for the rest of your life. No one should live like this."

Maria stared deeply into his eyes as she talked, hoping that he could understand that she really meant what she said.

Clayton flinched when Maria touched him. He had learned over the years that touch always meant punishment. He managed to stay in place though. As Maria spoke he stared into her eyes as if he had the ability to detect lies. He breathed slowly and deeply in an attempt to calm himself.

Maria was so different from the other people he had come to know. He only knew her for less than a single day, yet he trusted her more than any person he had ever met. Everyone else acted nice and seemed to be Clayton's friend, but it always seemed like they were watching and looking for something to get him in trouble for. He always thought it was just him being overly worried, but now he wasn't so sure.

"O-okay." He breathed.

Her lips parted slightly, and she breathed a soft sigh of happiness before pulling her hand back to her side and turning to face the building.

"You get to start first - where are we, and what are we up to?" Maria asked, gesturing to the building with gentle fingers.

Inwardly she was puffed up with excitement and happiness - things were getting better by the minute. Clayton was the first person who she could ever call 'friend' without feeling like she was lying to herself. Staying at the Great Property was going to be better than she ever could have imagined.

The Pound
Setting

The facility has walls lined with cells, each consisting of three concrete walls, a bare floor, a low ceiling and a wall of clear acryilic which faces the aisle and doubles as a door.

Presently, it's morning and the pound as just opened up for the day.

Plot

The world is such that is condones slavery-- of gifteds, werewolves, vampires and the like. The slave trade is a booming industry, making millionaires within months. Everyone has their own reasons for owning the creatures, some require extra help around the house, others see it as a way to display their wealth, and still others buy them just for the pleasure of breaking them.

As with all things, some people grow tired of their slaves. Now, selling them would take time and energy that some either don't have or are unwilling to waste it on a slave. That is where the 'pound' comes in. They take the discarded slaves, no questions asked and sell them for cheap.

History
The roleplay was made.
Rules

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PLOT WAS NOT MADE UP BY ME!

This roleplay as copied straight from another roleplay from a website called MaraPets. The person who made this roleplay is called Rainkit. Do not give me credit for this, as I did not think of it.

Also please note that I do not in anyway think that slavery is okay in real life!

You may join as a human, gifted, werewolf or vampire.

Humans are never slaves.

Please keep the number of humans and slaves around even, without both of them the roleplay doesn't work.

Don't make slaves with extreamly dangerous powers, they would have been killed, not sold as slaves.

The point of the roleplay is not to stay in the pound, humans should come in and buy slaves then take them home. It is the person who is controling the human's responsabilty to create a setting. For example a farmhouse, or a big expensive house.

Don't make masters who treat their slave's as equals, its over used and quite frankly, really boring.

You can make a slave who was born into slavery or has never spend a day of their lives as slaves, just make up a good reason why they were never caught.

A quick note on slave breeding. First off don't roleplay anyone doing the deed please!

Second, for werewolves they will give birth to a litter rather than a single child. This is because they cannot change from human to wolf while pregnate or they'll kill their children. Since full moon forces a change, they got to stay as a wolf 100% of the time while pregnate. The litter will be born as pups and will stay as pups until about a month or so until they can shift to their human form.
