Orca shifted his weight unconfortably, not really sure what to do. He could leave and return but all the tasks he could do would take longer than it would for Maria to shower. By the time he returned, she would have been done for quite a while.

Maria seemed like she wasn't a very disobedient slave, but there had been times when people have faked it in order to excape. He shuttered at the thought of what Greyson would do if he found out that Orca let Maria run off.

He decided it was best that he just wait for Maria. Standing around was quite boring, and there was little chance someone would come up and chat with him. All he could hope was that Maria didn't choose to have a long shower.

Nothing felt better than drying off her hair, pulling on clean clothing, being able to move without fear of her skin being too tight from dehydration and splitting. Being clean had been one of the things she had looked forward to most, and it was as wonderful as she had imagined.

She looked down at her hair, clean, shiny and wet - things felt right again, as if they had been put back in order. Even then, she wasn't reluctant to leave the showerhouse. She pushed the door open and walked outside, and she felt like a new person.

"Next, I suppose, would be sleep, yes?" she asked Orca, reaching up to run her fingers through her hair one more time.

"That is what I said before." Orca said. He pointed to the building beside the showerhouse. "You've been assigned to sleep in that building." He said. "Sleeping quarters are sepporated by gender as well as bathrooms. You are forbidden to go into areas for the opposite gender." He explained.

"All buildings are locked up at nine every night, including the sleeping quarters, don't worry, there is a bathroom in there if you need it in the middle of the night. If you are not in there by nine, you are going to have to sleep in whatever building you were in at that time. They will not be unlocked again until seven in the morning." Orca said. "Tomorrow I'll see if I can get someone else to show you around in more detail."

Maria looked over at the building, then back at Orca with hesitancy. Going into the showerhouse alone had been fine - there was no explanation needed on what to do or how to work things, but she didn't know how she was supposed to manage the strictly single-gender sleeping quarters, especially when the only three people she knew even slightly were all male. It wasn't as if she'd be uncomfortable braving the unknown building, but at the same time it wasn't particularly something she looked forward to.

"You're rather unenthusiastic... Is there anyone who will be able to show me to my sleeping area?"

Orca breathed in deeply, rather annoyed by Maria's unenthusiastic comment even though he knew it was true.

"I am sure it is excactly the same as their male counterparts. Your bed will be the one that is unmade. Sheets and blankets will be in the crate at the end of the bed. You are expected to make your bed propperly each day as well as wash the blankets when needed. The crate is for any objects you have earned through good work. The crates do get randomly searched so don't be stealing other people's stuff." He said. Orca looked up at the sky, trying to guess what time it may be.

"I have to go, or else there is a good chance I'll get locked out." He said, and without waiting for Maria's reply he turned away from her and set off to his sleeping quarters.

Maria stared after him with disbelieving eyes.

"Someone's rather sour," she muttered under her breath. "It's up to me, then."

She walked towards the building, glancing around casually and making notes of everything she saw. It wouldn't do her any good to be clueless about her surroundings, and by the time her hand was on the door she had, for the most part, a very accurate mental map of the area.

The werewolf pushed the door open and looked around. There were other women bustling about around her, most talking quietly to one another. It wasn't exactly a party type of atmosphere, but it wasn't funeralesque either. She spotted her bed almost immediatly and made her way through the other servants as if she had always belonged there with them, the whole time making sure to avoid eye-contact with any of them. At her bed she found the crate and the sheets and made her bed with nurse-like precision.

The end of an interesting day... Now to sleep and prepare for the next..."

Orca woke up about a half an hour early like usual. It gave him time to get dressed and ready for the day without having his roommates in the way. He dressed without any sound but his own thoughts. When he was finished he opened the crate at the end of his bed. The contents were neat and organized, it only took him a moment to find what he was looking for.
He pulled out a pad of paper and sat on his bed. He flipped through the pages until he got to the one for today. He learned pretty quickly that he did not have time to give Maria a tour today. Sighing deeply, he leaned back on the bed and rested his head on his pillow.
Greyson had only told Orca to get Maria her chip and show her to the shower house. There was no one to help her and Orca could not let her just wander around aimlessly. He thought about this until his room mates started to stir.
As they got dressed and ready for the day they chatted and joked. Anyone who stayed in bed was forcefully shoved onto the floor. It wasn't aggressive, or else Orca would have intervened. This kind of stuff happened every morning. Not one of them spoke to Orca. The only interaction was a quick glance every once in a while.
Orca noticed someone outside through the window. It was a paid worker, not a slave, coming to unlock to doors. He stood and walked to the door and the moment it was open he left the sleeping quarters.
He walked briskly to one of the main offices, making no detours. All the doors will be opened in a matter of minutes and Maria would be out and about with no guide. Every day each person is set with  job they must compete in a certain about of time. Sometimes people are given nothing for one day. This good be from bad planning or because the person did a massive amount of work the day before and needs a break. Orca's plan was to have one of these people help Maria since they weren't set to anything today anyway.
He opened the door to the office and went straight to the lady at the desk. She had just arrived and was getting everything ready for the day. She looked surprised someone was already coming in.
“I need a list of every person who is not set for any type of work today.” Orca said.
Nodding quickly, the women started clicking and typing away on her computer and in a minute or two she was handing him a single sheet of paper.
Orca looked over the names quickly, there wasn't really much to work with. There were only five names on the paper and two of them were off because of injury. Another was off because he was caught stealing and was going to be seeing punishment for it today. With the remaining two names it wasn't too hard to pick which one to go with. One was a person Orca never heard of before and the other was Clayton. How convenient that it would be a person Maria already had met before.
Orca sat the list on the desk and left the building without another word with the women working there. Now he had to figure out where Clayton was. Most slave just wandered around, not really knowing what to do when they had nothing assigned to them that day. Some slaves actually went off looking for work to do anyway. Orca guessed the first place to look was the sleeping quarters he was assigned to.
When Orca opened the door to the building he was rather relived to see Clayton there. Now he didn't have to search all over the place looking for him. Clayton was laying on his bed. It looked like he had decided the best use of his free time was to sleep in. However he wasn't very deeply asleep because the sound of the door opening woke him up. He sat up on the bed, looking quite confused by Orca's presence.
“W-what are you doing here?” Clayton asked.
“I need you do show Maria around today since you have no work assigned today.” Orca said. “Her sleeping quarters is the same one Molly was in before she got sent off.”
At the mention of 'Molly', Clayton's shoulders dropped and he looked down at the floor.
“Alright.” Was all he said.
Clayton had not even gotten up since he knew before hand that he was not doing any work today. So when Orca left he hurried to get clothed and ready for the day. He was looking forward to a day for himself, it so rarely happened that he would get a day off for no reason. Though as he thought about it, he realized he would most likely get bored. He was so used to having work entertain him that when there was nothing to do he would very quickly run out of ideas to occupy himself.
He didn't quite run to his destination, but he moved quite quickly. Usually people would greet him as they walked past him, but today his urgency told people to let him be. When he made it to where Maria was meant to be, he stopped a few steps away from the door. Clayton did not want any girls thinking he was trying to peek in. He shuttered at the thought of doing such a thing, it was rather gross in his opinion. He decided it was best just to wait for Maria to come out on her own. Hopefully she was still there.

There were some habits that Maria had left behind after her time at the training school, but no matter how hard they had tried to get rid of her more feral instincts they had always failed, so after a sleepless night surrounded by unfamiliar noises, when the first wake-up call sounded, Maria rolled off her bed, clinging to the side with her fingers, and swung beneath it onto the floor. She laid there for a moment before seeing all of the feet around her touch to the ground before slowly crawling out. There was no embarrassment visible on her features for her overreaction, but inwardly she was cringing at her mistake, though there were few who noticed her there on the floor and none who said a thing about it.

She followed the actions of the others, making their beds and quickly changing. As hard as the girl tried to divert her eyes from the other women around her she couldn't help but notice a handful of scars scattered across the backsides of those closest to her. It was easy to find the troublemakers or ones who failed to please their master, and she hoped to learn quickly how to keep in his good light. Her body wasn't free of markings like theirs, but she in no way wanted to earn herself any more.

Most of the women, as they finished up their tasks, poured out of the door together in a very prompt manner, and Maria chose to hang back, hoping to be the last one out of the building. A few of the ladies saw her and looked like they might say something, which Maria was rather hoping for, but as they passed her by she could hear the name of Orca on their lips and mild expressions of fear and wariness cross their faces. No one seemed brave enough to aproach the girl who had him as her guide, at least not for that first morning.

She knew couldn't stay around forever - Maria eventually, after the only people who were left were bedridden by injury, forced herself to walk up to the door and, with a hesitating hand, opened it. For a moment the sunlight blinded her, but after blinking she saw exactly the face that was needed to make her morning a bit brighter: Clayton's.

A gentle smile lit up her face, and with a tilted head and parted lips she said, "Good morning, dear - you're just the person I was hoping to see."

Clayton smiled softly at Maria's words. She seemed to be a rather kind person. Clayton hoped that going through training would not change that. He had seen to many wonderful people become just shells of their former self after being trained. "I guess it's better to see me then seeing Orca." Clayton said. He then glanced around and then said in a softer voice. "He's a bit of a jerk, no one likes him." His expression had turned quite serious when he spoke those words. However once he had finished speaking he returned to his typical slight smile. "I was not assigned to any job today, so I am free to help you get settled." He said.

Maria smiled brightly at him and looked around, shaking her hair off her shoulders while enjoying the view of the sky. She predicted a nice day ahead, especially given her company.

"Well then, what are our plans for the day? I can't wait to see what's in store - I'm rather eager to be assigned a position. I hope, of course, it might be something that allows me to see you more often then not." Then she lowered her voice to whisper, "Orca in himself is a terribly wet towel and a cloud of rain on any parade from what I've noticed, but you seem much more fun."

"Yes, he is." Clayton said slowly. Clayton motioned Maria to walke with him and he went down the path. "But you can't blame him when you conseter his upbringing. He wasn't raised like you and me."

Clayton looked like he was going to contenue talking about Orca but they got to a very populated area and he stopped.

"It's best not to talk about people like Orca in areas like this." He whispered. The people acted very different compared to the times Orca was around. Many of them were talking while they worked and many of them waved and greeted Clayton. A few glanced at Maria with a look of curiosity. However they all had places to be and no time to stop and chat.

"I'll show you the important buildings and tell you about how things work around here." He explained as they walked.

Maria looked around, amused at the behavior of the surounding servants. The atmosphere was improving rather impressively, and the girl could say with certainty that she was looking forward to her time with the others.

"I'm sure you have extensive knowledge of the inner workings of the house - you seem very certain in your actions. I suppose you've been here for a good length of time then."

She paused in a way that made it clear something else was on the tip of her tongue, but she hesitated in a thoughtful manner before continuing, as if carefully collecting her words.

"I wonder at your words about being raised similarly. Don't feel you have to answer me, dear, but what kind of upbringing did you have?" she asked softly, twirling a long strand of hair around her finger.

"I was not trying to imply that we had a simular upbringing, I do not know your past. However I do know that you would not act the way you do if you had the same upbringing as him." Clayton said. He purposely referred to Orca as 'him' rather than his name. It was best to not let others know he was talking about him.

"I was born here and I haven't ever left the property before.  I was taught my manners just like everyone else here then I was taught the skills I needed for my assigned job. Most of the people here got a simular backstory." He said.

Maria nodded slowly. "How interesting. You have been here for quite a while. I suppose this must be home to you, then. It must be odd not knowing what the outside world is like - has anyone ever described it to you? I think it's lovely, and there's so much for one to do. I've never been bored out there, be it camping in the wilderness or working in a restaurant. I think you'd find it quite diverting."

Though she meant her words wholeheartedly Maria was also very sure that Clayton would be easily overwhelmed and find himself nervous if he ever had to face the world by himself, or even with someone by his side as his guide. It was a startling place, especially if one wasn't accustomed or prepared properly.

The Pound
Setting

The facility has walls lined with cells, each consisting of three concrete walls, a bare floor, a low ceiling and a wall of clear acryilic which faces the aisle and doubles as a door.

Presently, it's morning and the pound as just opened up for the day.

Plot

The world is such that is condones slavery-- of gifteds, werewolves, vampires and the like. The slave trade is a booming industry, making millionaires within months. Everyone has their own reasons for owning the creatures, some require extra help around the house, others see it as a way to display their wealth, and still others buy them just for the pleasure of breaking them.

As with all things, some people grow tired of their slaves. Now, selling them would take time and energy that some either don't have or are unwilling to waste it on a slave. That is where the 'pound' comes in. They take the discarded slaves, no questions asked and sell them for cheap.

History
The roleplay was made.
Rules

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PLOT WAS NOT MADE UP BY ME!

This roleplay as copied straight from another roleplay from a website called MaraPets. The person who made this roleplay is called Rainkit. Do not give me credit for this, as I did not think of it.

Also please note that I do not in anyway think that slavery is okay in real life!

You may join as a human, gifted, werewolf or vampire.

Humans are never slaves.

Please keep the number of humans and slaves around even, without both of them the roleplay doesn't work.

Don't make slaves with extreamly dangerous powers, they would have been killed, not sold as slaves.

The point of the roleplay is not to stay in the pound, humans should come in and buy slaves then take them home. It is the person who is controling the human's responsabilty to create a setting. For example a farmhouse, or a big expensive house.

Don't make masters who treat their slave's as equals, its over used and quite frankly, really boring.

You can make a slave who was born into slavery or has never spend a day of their lives as slaves, just make up a good reason why they were never caught.

A quick note on slave breeding. First off don't roleplay anyone doing the deed please!

Second, for werewolves they will give birth to a litter rather than a single child. This is because they cannot change from human to wolf while pregnate or they'll kill their children. Since full moon forces a change, they got to stay as a wolf 100% of the time while pregnate. The litter will be born as pups and will stay as pups until about a month or so until they can shift to their human form.
