Setting
The Silver Scale is a fairly average pub, one of the few actually operating on the island on which Exhibited! takes place. It's a fairly local joint, and an established part of the culture. The pub operates in Port, the coastal town about twenty minutes by car away from the main city of the island, and is run by a small local staff. All sorts are welcome, although dino owners are asked to leave all dinosaurs weighing more than forty pounds at home, and to keep those dinosaurs which they do bring with them on a leash at all times.
The proprietor of The Silver Scale is a kindly gentleman by the name of Rufus who tends the bar with a quiet dignity. Once an experienced ranch hand for the farm owners of Exhibited!, Rufus settled down to a much quieter life once his daughter was born.
Rufus's daughter, Katrina, is an intelligent, frequently sarcastic girl who waits the tables on the days she has off from college, which she takes via online correspondence with the main land. She also manages the pub's finances, and despite her sharp tongue and complete intolerance for idiots, she had a soft spot a mile wild, once you find it.
The other staff, an amalgam of waiters/waitresses and kitchen workers, is mostly made up of temp jobs, which are taken on mostly by the island's youth. A rough and tumble bunch, they are- for the most part- born and bred on the island of Exhibited! and have lived with the dino-ranch culture here all their lives.
The patrons of The Silver Scale are as varied as they come. Some are tourists from the outside world, who've decided to take in a bit of local culture on their way to see the infamous dinosaur ranches. Some are locals, from scientists in the labs to shop owners in the city, who have come for a bit of a drink. Some are hired hands down on the ranches, locally known as 'wranglers,' who come down to the pub to relax on their day off away from the frequently dangerous job of handling massive carnivores for a living. They work for the third and final group of patrons: the wealthier ranch-owners, the upper class of the island, and the actual owners of the dinosaurs around which the island revolves.
Plot
Down at the Silver Scale...
Right on the edge of an expansive island- an island famous world-wide for its rather unusual inhabitants, both human and not- there lies a very small port city, though some might only go so far as to call a port town, or merely a port. The little port itself- simply called the Port by locals- is nothing more than a handful of homes, a smaller handful of businesses selling things like survival gear or tchotchkes for the tourists, and an official immigration and tourism office, all clustered around a small dock for boats to moor at. Only twenty minutes away by car lies the central city of the island, where most of the inhabitants make their home. Compared to the main city of the island- or any of the cities in the outside world- the little port town isn't much to speak of at all.
There is, however, something in Port which draws those in the know away from the city for an afternoon every once in a while. Tucked away in a comfortable corner of the port town, a pleasantly sturdy wooden lodge proudly bears a sign painted with the silver emblem of a dino and a logo welcoming all and sundry to the Silver Scale, the local bar. Once the sun begins to go down, its doors swing open and the tavern plays host to all and sundry; from wide-eyed tourists taking in the sights of the famous 'dinosaur island,' to grizzled veteran wranglers fresh off the ranches, to weary, wealthy ranch owners soaking away victories or defeats after a day's work.
So, come on, come all. The doors are always open.
History
The Silver Scale was founded a few years after the rise of the original wave of dinosaur ranches, when a young ranch hand retired in order to take up a less dangerous profession for his equally young wife's peace of mind. Though the pub suffered a major setback during the years of the rage gene culling, it has grown again in strength and popularity as a generation raised entirely on the island of Exhibited! arises.

2. Try to follow the rules of grammar as much as possible. No chat speak except in the actual chat, etc. The Silver Scale is an intermediate roleplay, which means a decent grasp of grammar and writing.
3. Understand that this takes place in the actual Exhibited! world as much as possible. Try to stay within the limits of what is possible in the Exhibited! world.
*Please note that IC Rules do not need to be absolutely followed: these are just the rules that Rufus (the owner of the pub) has set down. Your characters can absolutely break these rules. They just need to be ready to accept the consequences of that. For instances, if a character gets in a fight or starts a brawl, Rufus is going to kick them out.
