Roleplaying

This role play takes place in Australia, 75 million years hence, (about) and the quest of the exploration party to become renowned among the greatest scientific minds in history.  Future Australia is much farther north, with the upper part being  temperate forest, lower rather tropical, and a vast desert remains in the center.  The animals and plants of the day are like none yet known...



One day, an obscure physicist was tinkering with her thousand dollar toys, when her Paleontologist/Biologist friend called her up and told her to immediately take a plane ride to Australia.  She put up a big fuss, but, eventually, obeyed the order, persuaded by "The greatest discovery in all of human history".  When the plane landed, Professor Eagar excitedly greeted her, and quickly strode off.  The physicist assumed he expected her to follow, as he strode at an alarming pace.  Soon, they left the city itself, and into the outback they went.  That night, as they camped, Professor Eagar paced around the tent, wringing his hands out of anticipation.  The next day, as soon as the sun had rose, they set off, before the heat became unbearable.  At last, hours hence, the Professor stopped, as a gaping hole opened up before them.  Then, with a flourish, he grandly named this the "Passage of Time".  He began babbling about his theories on the subject, and anxiously showing her several samples, and about how there was probably one for every longitudinal segment so large, and something about geological connection, but she wasn't listening.  Did...  Did he really believe that?  As soon as she took one look at the samples, she set right to work on the physics of the matter, as the Professor trod back to the coast, to get together a search party.



I will add major plot developments as we progress.

 

ALL  fictional creatures must have a reasonable explanation for how they work, how they evolved that way, were they fit in the ecosystem, and why in the world they even exist.  I would prefer it if theoretical animals are discussed in the chat.

Do not kill the other members of the exploration party unless it's been set up before hand.  In the beginning, they will be a very tight-nit group, except fro maybe one traitor, who wants to steal the glory, and might begin to dominate over the good professor when discontent festers in the hearts of the party.

As far as romance is concerned, please none.  Remember, these are overexcited scientific minds stranded in an alien environment; unless you have some sort of ranger character who came along to protect them from vicious animals and such, your character will be much too preoccupied for such nonsense.
