Setting
You begin you journey far below anything familiar to man, as a member of the Stone Race. As you listen to the adventurerers, peeling from your hiding place of the cold stone walls of the Empty City, you hear their stories. They still cannot see you, as each time your cold, blank white gaze and expresionless face crosses their line of site, it is at the sotne wall, perfectly disguised. You lighted, pupiless eyes pass over them one last time, before you silently creep away on lng, distorted limbs, with all who will join you, thinking the same thought: That you will see the Sun.
Plot
Long ago, the gods made a first attempt at creating life and nringing order to matter. They had thought that it failed, while others thought it wasn't good enough, and created a second world, a better world, atop the first. There were a few things that never changed though. The sun we have now is the sun that shined upon that first world long ago. The stars we have now were the stars above that first world. and the gods we have now were the gods that created that first world. But, after centuries, the ancient inhabitants of this first world, a race more ancient than any other, a race which has nothing to do with the rare travelers who venture that far down because they have nothing in common with them, is at unrest. Individuals are eager, eager to venture up, out of their desicated carcass of a world, which has been rotting for millenia, slowly fading away, and into the light, and into the warmth, to see the Sun.
History
I will add events that come through role playing here. Also, here's a description of the Stone People: The are about seven feet tall, with an average humanoid torso. They appear to be entirely comprised out of stone, and have long, dispraportionate limbs, without hands or feet, though they can still hold things. Their long faces have no facial features, except for blank, glowing eyes, which emit a soft white light from creepy round holes. They can communicate telepathically, and blend in perfectly with stone. The do not bleed, but the do crumble slowly when wounded.
