Tiana is not your average dinosaur. Yeah, sure she is deadly if someone ticks her off, but aren't all raptors like that? Tiana was found caught in a poacher's trap. She had her claws snapped clean tight against the trunk of a tree. One of our team members cut the wire and sedated her, destroying the trap in the process. We brought her back to our park. But no sooner had we closed and locked the gate to her enclosure, than Diablo, our adult male Megaraptor came rushing up to meet the new arrival. Tiana and Diablo fell head over tails for each other. However, that night, a group of about five poachers broke into the park to try and claim back what we took from them. Little did they know that Diablo was watching them from a small cave. The poachers scoured the area with dart guns, looking for the bright pink Megaraptor. They entered a small clearing in the thicket and spotted her, resting with her claw tucked tightly under her. One of the poachers raised his gun to fire, but was attacked from behind. Diablo knocked him to the ground, screeching. He then turned and slashed at another poacher's face. Pretty soon, all of the staff members and I were outside. Half of us were holding on tightly to Diablo and Tiana, trying to calm them down, while the other half tied up the poachers and talked with the police. Diablo and Tiana are best friends, and they will always be there for each other. :)
