It is mid-day during the hottest part of the day. It is hot and muggy out, a very bad time for land creatures.
Violet trudged lazily and half-heartily through the thick, muggy air. Usually she loved hot weather, being a reptile it made her feel energetic, but today to much moisture in the air made it hard for her to breath. Her scales were black as night, meaning she was calm, at this present moment. She could probable explode into a anger fit at any moment but right now, doing anything made her sick to her stomach. She came to the beach and plopped down on the white sands. She rolled over onto her back, exposing her belly. She knew no creature in there right mind would mess with her. Even if they could win a fight her wicked claws would do enough damage, not to mention her bite. She knew that one bite could kill anything because of the festering bacteria in her mouth that just loved to get into the system of her prey and do all sorts of damage to make her life easier. Thank you ancestors she thought, a little full of herself.
Trallune softly growled.  This sun was messing with his vision, he was hungry, and he couldn't even echolocate due to the sand.  He was stuck somewhere on the beach, which made matters even worse, as large animals didn't usually cpme here.  He had been trying to get off of it for hours, but the heat had slowly gotten worse and worse.  He had been foolish, and hadn't retreated to his burrow (he can't actually dig; he stole it form prey) in the light hours when he had failed to catch a meal.  NOw he was stranded and simply had to wait it out.  Suddenly, as his tail flicked around in discomfort, he saw a slightly more heated area!  It must be a black rock or animal!  It was roughly the shape of a lizard, so the was a good sign.  Trallune approached quietly, tail up like a scorpion's and his body low to the ground.  WHen he got close enough, he would pounce.  As he could not locate the neck of the animal, he would simply use a flurry of claws, teeth, and tail.  It would be a messy kill, but a kill none the less.  As Trallune got closer, he stopped for a moment.  He seemed to be about two thirds this things size, and it was lizard shaped.   Maybe he didn't want to try and kill this thing after all...  His stomach growled, clearly dissagreing.  He was in a pouncing position, just about to make the leap, but a bit indecisive.  His tail flicked over his head protectively, as a stretched out body like this was vulnerable.
Violet heard a faint growl and began to sense vibrations in the sand, though she wasn't one hundred percent sure if it was just her. It was hard for her senses to detect things in sand because it was so loose and the waves, wind, a leaf, all moved the sand so easily. The vibrations seemed as if they were moving closer but it could be that high tide was coming in, and once again she had doubts. Violets eyes were shut to keep sand out of them and she didn't want to risk getting sand in them for nothing. She felt no more movement and decided that it was better safe than sorry, even in this miserable heat. She sprang up mouth wide open in defense expecting nothing to be there, but she was completely wrong. Instead of nothing, Violet came face to face with another creature, and was genuinely taken aback. She stumbled a bit and backed up. The creature was nothing like she had ever seen before, and it didn't have eyes! His tail was poised like a scorpion's and he was in the pounce position. Violet's muscles tensed for a fight and waited to see what this thing did. It might be all bark and no bite for all she knew but she didn't want to take any chances. Especially with the set of teeth and claws this thing had,
Trallune saw the heated shape jump up, sensing him somehow.  Probably that soft growl earlier.  He was about to punce and destroy the thing, when he began to feel a bit naseous and couldn't see straight.  All this heat was messing with him.  Being cold blooded, he couldn't sweat, and his optimal tempurature was much lower than this.  He suspected heat stroke, and mentally killing himself for not getting a meal, collapsed onto his side, breathing deeply.  If this killed him, he wouldn't ever get a meal again, and he was in no condition to fight a larger animal, no matter how hungry he may be.  He had messed up badly when he hadn't retreated at dawn; the heat (it's like light to you) wouldn't even let him sleep.  He kept his tail up though, as a defense against the lizard thing, a potential attacker.  Even if the heat didn't kill him, it probably would.  These mistakes were going to kill him thrice over.
Violet paused as it collapsed breathing hard. Its tail was raised weakly and she assumed it was out of defense. She knew exactly why it had collapsed. Heat. She was feeling a bit dizzy herself but she had a higher core temperature than this creature. She looked up at the water, crystal blue as ever, and at the shady trees, offering some protection from the sun. She judged that this thing's tail might be poisonous and that maybe she should go down to the water and cool herself and wait for this thing to die. It had said nothing, but then again, neither had she. Violet walked slowly up to the creature, trying to find a place that she could grab without the tail coming round to sting her. "Hold still." she said the two words monotonously as she lunged grabbing the back of its neck with her claws, careful not to cut its skin, though with her dagger like claws she failed at that. She began to drag in towards the water and she hoped it would listen and not sting her.
Trallune listened, assuming that this creature had come to kill and eat him, and that struggling would bring about a more painful death.  He was pleasently surprised when it pushed him into the sea, which appeared to him as a long dark strip.  He was about to utter a thankful sentence when he discovered that he was to thirst to do so, as all that came out was a raspy moan.  He rolled his neck out of the water, as the slight cuts in his neck felt extremely panful in the salt water.  He closed his left slit (the one not in the water) and rolled over, the larges motion he was capable of.  He once again turned his neck out of the water,  and he closed his right slit almost all the way, so that he wouldn't lose anymore water through it.  At this point, he was blind, deaf, and mute.  Too bad he had no sense of smell, that seemed to do wonders for mammilian hunters.
Violet watched as the creature cooled itself in the water, keeping its neck out of the water. She couldn't blame it, cuts hurt in salt water. She swam out into the water herself, and let out a sigh of pleasure. If her scales could've sizzled and evaporated water from the heat they had absorbed, they did. She covered her eyes in a clear membrane and dived under the water, swimming with enthusiasm. She snapped up a dumb silver fish with ease and surfaced back up where she had dived. She swam and then walked in the shallow water towards the odd creature and dropped the fish in front of it. "Here, it smells gross but its good. And its easy food" she told it, not realizeing it couldn't smell. She thought that a bit of kindness would do this creature good. Violet swam back out and caught herself a fish and cheerfully swallowed it before she went back under to hunt for more.
Trallune heard a bit of talking from the other creature, he couldn't understand it very well because of the closed slits.  He also heard something else, and felt water splashing his head.  Inferring more kindness, as well as somethign in front of him, he probed the area in front of him with a foreleg, finding a fish!  Food.  He used his tail, slightly less weak now, to slice the fish in half.  He then jerked his head over the the fish, snapping up one half and swallowing it whole, then doing the same with the other half.  Normally, he would be confused about the kindness, (not to mention that either he or the other creature would be dead) but at the moment, he was simply happy to be alive.  Kindness wasn't a common thing when you were the only adult male Kru on the island.  ((Hey Whitefire, do you want me to message you info on female kru?  Gender differentiation is extreme.))

(Sure. but just to let you know, post questions on OCC chat. -_o)

Violet filled her stomach with the small silver fish. She waddled up to the shore and plopped down on the sand, scratching her back as she moved in side to side movements. She then leaped to her feet and looked the creature over closely, wondering what it was. She then circled it to get a better look. It looked like a bunch of mismatched parts to Violet, with reptilian hind legs like hers only with a large claw in the middle and two on the sides. It had large cuts on its sides and Violet wondered if it had hurt itself and why they didn't sting in the salt water. It had no eyes, which she had noticed when she saw it, and had black bubble looking things from its head to its back. "What are you?" she couldn't help but ask. She knew it was probably a bit rude but she was genuinely confused.

Trallune, less weak at the moment because of a. the fish, and b. the cold water, raised his head, finding the black shape easier since it was a bit later in the day, said "I am a male Kru.  You may have seen a female, basking in this horrid sunlight.  I was told by my father I would be hunting in the eternal night of the Dark, my race's stony homeland, if it hadn't been for the wanderings of my father.  Soon after he wandered up here, he said, the volcano flooded, and it was the only way down."  Trallune paused for a moment, then asked "If you don't mind me asking, are you some sort of mutant?  I've run into your kind before, and, generally, they are agressive and explosive.  You seem to be calm and kind, but is this some sort of hidden side of you race?  Is this a normal thing?"
Violet hissed in furious anger. Herr scales turned flame red and her mouth opened and showed her dagger like teeth.. "I am no mutant! If ANYTHING is mutated its you! your some kind of cat lizard thing with no eyes and some kind of sensors like a insect!" her tail whipped back and forth like a whip ready to strike anything that dare mess with her. Her claws dug into the sand as is she was killing some kind of poor animal, and if any clams had been there they would be crushed. How dare that.. that... that thing call her a mutant when it didn't even have eyeballs! Violet began to circle the Kry in a size off like motion.  She then stopped and faced the thing in a 'don't mess with me' stance similar to that of a bull elephant facing a lion. And tried to stare down the creature that had called her a mutant. The nerve!
The gray furred creature had been happily drifting by the shore ignoring her surroundings. What caught her eye was a reptile circling a cat-like reptilian-like creature. Being as curios as she was she came closer to investigate. Unnoticed she ran across the sand quietly and quickly almost being spotted. She thought quickly looking around worried that these creatures may hurt her. Keyla ran into the nearest group of palm trees hiding silent staring at the two. She didn't usually stay by the shoreline so these creatures were all new to her.She also didn't stay on land very long and now the scorching hot sand were burning her otter-like pads. The feeling of the wet sand didn't seem pleasant to her and the feeling of the dry air felt strange to her. It took her awhile to get used to the air and hot sand but eventually she did. Now she waited in the corner to see what would happen next.
If Trallune had eyes, he would have blinked.  But he didn't, so that wasn't an option.  Slowly, as to not anger the beast, Trallune said "Well...  That explains it." He thought he saw a shape slightly hotter than the water running across the sand out of the corner of his vision, (his left back to be precise) but he was probably just hallucinating. He would have been on his way at this point, but it was still too hot.  If he got out of the water now, he might die.  He didn't need a drink of fresh water, because again, he wasn't mammal.  His scales kept all mosture in, and it could only escape form his mouth, which was never too moist anyway.  He looked at the lizard, who was seething with anger, and raised his tail, hoping the scythe-like appendage at the end would scare her off.  If she attacked him, at least he was already low.
A hiss once again came from Violet's mouth. Her mouth was wide open, showing her teeth (not that the kru could see them) and saliva with poisonous bacteria hung in strands. She weighed the odds if she should attack this thing or not, and she bet that she could kill it, but not without taking damage. Its tail was obviously sharp, since it had sliced the fish in two, and its claws and teeth weren't pretty either, which they should be, since it was a carnivore. Violet had her claws and teeth, able to kill just about anything. As an added bonus her bite was poisonous and if she nicked him he faced a very painful and excruciating death that could last up to a week. She decided to leave him and she stormed off towards a group of shady palms. She almost ran over a little rat thing that had been spying on them. She snapped at it but missed by a few inches, luckily for it.
