Arran looked back a bit as the woman searched his pockets, pulling out his wallet. She checked his ID and stepped back a bit "Arran?" she asked, curiously "Damn..its been a long time."
He blinked and turned back "Wait..you know me?" he turned around and blinked, immediatly noticing the military uniform she was wearing. "..Private-
She laughed and interupted him "Please, just call me Alina. Didn't think there were anymore of our guys still in the city. Thought I was the only one left behind when they pulled out..guess not."
Arran blinked and looked at the other armed men as they stepped away from his truck. "Who are they?"
Alina looked back at them, then to Arran "A group I ran into after everything went down. Survived a few months on my own untill I was cornered by a horde of those things. They came in and saved me before I ended up as lunch..or worse turned into one of the runners."
"Runners?" Arran asked "Thats what you call them? Makes sense I guess. Just reminds me of..eh, never mind." he scratched his head "So..have you gotten over the wall?"
Alina looked up at the wall they still stood in front of "Yeah. Havn't gone too far away from the city though. Things are bad everywhere. The armys attempt to contain the infected people in New York didn't exactly help when pretty much the whole world is infested with these things.." she paused for a moment "Heard from your family?"
Arran sighed "No..not since everything started. I was thinking of heading to DC, look for them there..if they're still alive."
"I wouldn't." Alina said "Heard DC was pretty much leveled from bombing runs by the army after evacuating the president failed and he was killed. Anyone still in the city has to be dead. No way anyone could have survived. If they're still alive, they wont be in DC."
