Taal stared back at her "Well..." he started "Wasn't really expecting anything like that." he turned his attention to the colapsed cave enterance again and shook his head I'm gonna find a way to dig it out again no matter what... There's no way I'm gonna loose that place, just how am I going to do it?

he thought the promise
silently to himself then turned his attention back to Miqu looking at her again "Now what?" he asked dissappointed that the cave was colapsed and it would be nearly impossable to get back into it now that the enterance was gone unless there was another way in.
"I know another way out...." She pointed to a dark and misty cavern. Taal smiled and ran to the cavern. "This way i have never been down, so be careful!" Miqu warned. Miqu pulled out a map of the cavern. "See, this is the way." They walked into the cavern and saw that it was covered in glowing crystals. "Woah!" Miqu pointed at a large blue gem. "These would be worth fifty gold coins at the village!" They continued walking and found a large stone carving. Miqu picked up a small glow worm and saw that the carving was of a dragon. It suddenly became very hot in the cavern hall, and they became scared.

Taal tried to compose himself, he was looking over the dragon carving wondering if it was suposed to be a type of warning or something about what lies ahead,
Taal wasn't a sissy but this place did sorta freak him out "You uhm, you said you've never gone this way before?" he asked nervously "Is there anything on that map of yours that says what might be down in here?" he added to the worrying question he backed up a little bit towards the cavern enterance where they
had come in still looking around though watching for anything suspicious that was there.
Taal stared at the river "I have no idea how we could get over that." he noticed the bridge and said "That's going to probably be useless in a matter of minutes..." he looked around for anything they possably could use to get accross "Maybe we could jump...it doesn't look that wide, but
then again we would probably loose a few feathers doing it that way wouldn't we?" he really wanted to get to that island and then he
looked over at Miqu wondering if she had any ideas on how they could possable get across the river that was flowing lava.
Miqu looked at Taal then the bridge. "Well, lets use it! Its the only way!" Miqu ran up to the rock-bridge. She cringed from the heat of the magma. "Well, come on!" Miqu shouted as she crossed the quickly crumbling bridge. Taal ran over and ran across the bridge before it crumbled completly. The large tunnel wich was the way out sparkeled with sunlight. They ran through it and found themselves in a part of the forest they had never been in before. The sun was starting to set and they were growing tired. "Where do you think the village is?" Miqu asked.
Taal shook his head "I have no idea" he said "I would say back that way" he pointed to the cave again then added "But there's no way to get back through it again" he sat down on the ground and looked around "This is gonna be some adventure" he mumbled under his breath tiredly and leaned back against a tree trunk wanting so badly to fall asleep, he was wiped out and needed rest but struggled to keep away anyways so he could watch for preditores and anything else that could possable be dangerous or maybe even kill them.
Tillakoodle had dissapeared soon after the village leader started lecturing the others. She had gone to the vilage school once, a long time ago, and she did not like to be reminded of the long, boring lessons her teacher gave. She had wandered off a ways, toward her home, but she could still hear the leader yelling loudly. He said something about not going into the forest...Tilla had never been one to break the rules, but the forest looked interesting and she had nothing better to do with her time. She turned around and saw the others walking off mumbling to themselves. Tillakoodle sneaked around, following them closely. She was soon lost in the dark forest. Suddenly the ground shook with a suddeny explosion. Tillakoodle felt the ground slipping beneath her feet, and she tried to scream but it was lost as she plummeted down into the huge gaping hole in the forest floor. When she hit the ground Tilla heard something crack and felt lighting pain as her wing smashed against the ground. She tried to stand but fell over in a daze, blinded by the pain in her wing. As Tilla lay on the hard, cool ground, she thought she heard voices...familar voices, coming from another direction. She tried to make out what they were saying, but everthing started growing dark as Tilla passed out.
Taal felt the slight tremer and he quickly stood up alarmed looking around "You feel that?" he asked concerned "Felt like a small quake, you think the mountains are mad at us for wandering off?" he asked, he wasn't serious about the mountains being mad, but he did wonder what it occured for and wondered of there would be more of them.
Taal looked over a Miqus somewhat worried expression and looked around again trying to see if there was any sign of the village, there wasn't and it was starting to get dark, the moon began to rise and the stars started to show themselves.
Miqu's eyes lit up. "Look! Over there! Smoke!" Miqu and Taal looked over to the smoke and started running as fast as they could. When they got closer to the smoke they felt more rumbles and more heat. They finally came to the smoke and saw that it was a blazing fire! Small explosions were going off and the trees and grass were on fire. Miqu gasped in horror as a cat-penguin and four others carrying weapons came down from the trees and came toward them. Miqu and Taal took off running with the other penguins following them. They eventually found a hollow tree to hide in.

Taal got as small as he could in the far back corner of the hollowed out tree so he was unseen and huddled close to Miqu who was doing the same, and me without anything to defend with...

the thought had ran through his mind over and over again, then he let out a quiet sigh of relief when the cat-penguins had ran past them but still waited a while before he dared speak, and when he did all he could say was "That was a
close one." in a still spooked and nervious
voice, a lot had happend just within that day and Taal was getting exhausted physicaly and mentaly from it.
When the cat-penguins finnaly passed, they got up out of the tree and went to go see where the fire was. It was raining now so the fire was gone. When they got there, they came upon the remains of the southern mountain village. Huts were burned and trees were singed. The ground was black with soot. Miqu kneeled onto her knees and began to weep. One of her brothers lived here, and she though he was dead. But, there were no bones anywhere. Just burned huts and woods. The ground was still hot from the fire, and the blackened dirt became a large mud hole. Miqu got up. She looked as if she were going mad. "Come on....we got some cat-penguins to find." Miqu sounded angry. Taal then implied that they should first go back to the village. Miqu agreed and they went to go find it. It was not long before they could see the berry grounds. That was near home.
Night was beginning to fall, and music and smells of food cooking could be heard in the distance.
Tillakoodle did not make up for many hours. When she finally did, she almost passed out again because of the searing pain in her wing. However, it had lessened somewhat, enough to allow Tillakoodle to stand up and examine her surroundings. She saw many trees, so it must have been some kind of forest, she thought to herself. Then she saw the eyes. A dozen pairs of eyes stared at her from the dark forest. Some were green, but most were yellow. Tillakoodle had never been more scared in her whole life. She found a stout stick and waved it around helplessly. Then one the pairs of eyes began to move toward her! Tilla shut her eyes and expected to have to battle some dangerous beast. A few moments passed and she peeked to see a giant caterpillar-like creature. It squeaking and then made a strange hiccuping-giggling sound. Tilla figured something this cute could not be dangerous...could it?
Taal wanted to run once he spotted the berry grounds, he was hungry and wanted to get back to the village, but he kept my Miqu's side, he didn't want to rush into the disipline for running off that possably awaited them back at the village, that was something he really wasn't looking forward to, it actually made chills run down his back, as they walked through the berry grounds he grabbed a few some for Miqu and some for himself, he handed a few to her and she took them, then he
ate his, it felt good to eat something being as how hungry he was.
Miqu smiled at Taal then ate the berries. The continues walking until they got to the village. It was very quite for they were all at the fall festival. They managed to sneak into the village without anyone seeing them. When they got to the festival, the blended in with the crowd. There was a large wooden stage lit with torches. A large penguin was on the stage. It did not look as if it were from these parts. The penguin asked for a volunteer. He chose Taal! Miqu started panicking. The penguin said a few strange words and asked Taal to lay on the ground and close his eyes. The penguin again mumbled a few words and Taal began to levitate. The crowd gasped.
