"Mines pretty calm." Clayton said. "A little more brave than I am, but doesn't cause trouble. He doesn't need to be tied up."

Clayton leaned back onto a building of a wall. He actually liked fullmoon, unlike most of his friends. He didn't know why, it just was kinda nice dispite the fact he had no control of his body. It was like watching a TV show about wolves, but in the view of one of the wolves.

"There is a whole different pecking order. People who are pretty high up like the watchers sometimes end up as omegas while just normal people like me can become alphas. It's interesting." He said.

Maria made a small noise of agreement, looking out over the field once again.

"It's been so long since I've had a good run... a real one, without a gate, or a chip, or anything to keep me back... I could run for hours and still be in the same forest. It was so empowering, like nothing could ever keep me from living, from moving forward."

Maria's love for exercise stemmed from the freedom it gave her of being able to reach her maximum potential without being 'dangerous' or 'harmful' to others. It was hard work that showed and that benefited her in the end.

"You can just run around this area, how is it any different?" Clayton asked. He had never been out running like Maria spoke about, so he had no idea what it was like. There was times at fullmoon that his wolf would get a burst of energy and start chasing another wolf around.

Even though Clayton wasn't really running himself, he could feel everything the wolf did. It was pretty nice. He could never run in that way as a human.

"You know, they do have a group that does hunting. That give you a lot of area to run. You get to be out in the open though, so you have to be pretty trusted." He said.

Maria snorted, "It's not about having a lot of area to run, Clayton. It's about having unlimited area to run. It's about never having to worry over hitting an electric fence, being able to chase the hunt for as long as you like, enjoying, no, respecting your kill. It's about connecting with nature and realizing where you fit in without being seen as a monster."

She closed her eyes tightly and ran her hands through her hair roughly, tilting her chin to her chest. Her hands stopped, grabbing her head, and squeezing her arms in front of her until her elbows touched.

"Enslavement is like living with a migraine and not knowing what it's like to be pain free until you've gotten to run free. It's so painful... it hurts... physically... mentally..."

She let go and lowered her arms in a flowing motion, turning back to her friend. "It's necessary, though, to feel pain. It makes freedom all the more important, makes it all the more precious - I know I'll fight harder for it after knowing what it's like to live without it."

Clayton wasn't really sure what Maria meant. It seemed like a language that only those who had seen freedom could understand. He knew the words of course, but didn't understand her meaning. How could she be in pain? She wasn't punished for anything and he didn't see her get hurt on anything.

Most of the things Maria said about the outside world sounded strange to him. There was so many things he never knew about. Though it sounded kinda scary, he still wanted to learn. It was not a common thing for him. Usually if something seemed dangerous, he stayed away.

"I guess a person would have to have been free to understand what you mean." He said. "But if you are hurt I probably could help you with that, it is my job afterall." Clayton added.

Maria laughed quietly, smiling at him in a sad sort of way. "It's alright if you don't understand. I haven't met too many people who do. I'm alright, though - the only way you can really help me is by keeping my secret safe."

She stared out across the enclosure again, disgusted at the idea of putting anyone in a fenced area as if they were cattle. There were some things she could live without experiencing, and that was one of them.

"Let's move on, if you're ready to. I don't like this area, and I think it's beginning to put me in a dull mood."

"Alright, but your going to have to visit this place again real soon anyway." Clayton said as he straightened and no longer relied on the wall behind him. The next full moon was always counted down day by day as if they were counting down the day until christmas. Though there were many who didn't look forward to it.

"Full moon is tonight so, you gotta come here or else they will hunt you down and drag you here. It isn't optional like going to your sleeping quarters. I'm sure you understand why." Clayton said.

Maria bit back a curse and turned, stalking a few paces away in a dark, silent rage. She couldn't believe that she'd forgotten so quickly. There was a small spark of fear that flared up in her stomach, but she quickly snuffed it out.

"Look, Clayton..."

She turned back to look at him, her face full of bitterness and regret. Her hands were tight by her side, but after a deep breath she seemed to relax back into a better mood.

"My wolf... is unpredictable. I've never had to deal with other wolves before, and I don't know how I'll treat... well... anyone... I don't know you well enough to trust my wolf to treat you well, either."

"It is perferable that you are able to go with everyone else." Clayton explained. "If you feel that it may be dangerous then you can ask to be put in a seporate place. But you will still be very close to everyone else. It is so they can judge if you are safe to be set free. If you aren't then they will keep trying and see if your wolf starts to get used to everyone else. If not, then you'll be set up somewhere else." Clayton said.

"I am sure that your wolf would want to run free, if it can learn that it must get along in order to do that it may start to at least tolerate other wolves." Clayton said as he started to walk again.

Maria sighed quietly, partially worried but mainly frustrated. She hated the idea of being in an enclosure with other wolves, as if having a specified border didn't make it bad enough. Growing up as a wolf that lived in the wild meant that she barely took notice or even remembered what her full moon nights were like, though she could recall small snapshots and feelings. There was always nonstop running and hunting, but there were flashes of violent, angry feelings she could recall as well as deep, troubling fear.

The thought of being stuck in a defined area with as many wolves as she believed would be there was disturbing - nothing bothered her more than the idea of hurting a peaceable person whether in wolf form or not.

Clayton opened the door to a building nearby to the large open area. Inside was a concrete floor and a long hallway. Both walls were made up of thick bars. Inside was two bowls and a dog bed. There was a large square hole in the back wall that allowed intry to a very small outside area.

"These are the kennels for those who cannot be with the others. Iv'e heard that sometimes people will get locked up in one of these for a punishment sometimes." Clayton said.

He didn't care if he was put here for a punishment or because his wolf caused problems. It still would be aweful. He knew full well that he wasn't human, but he also wasn't a common dog. He didn't voice this opinion though since it seemed like Maria thought she might have to go here.

Maria snorted rudely, turning her eyes up to the ceiling to avoid the sight of the cells.

"That's disgusting. I'm so sorry that you have to live in this awful place, Clayton."

She knew when she had landed in the pound that she would eventually end up facing a place where there were cells, fences, and hard punishments, but it still hadn't prepared her for the rage she would feel. It ticked her off, and she was trying her hardest not to let it out on Clayton. It wasn't his fault, obviously, but it was such a great rage that it was hard to keep it to herself.

"It's not aweful." Clayton said. He felt he had to defend his way of living. "I've never been put in here, and where else are they to go at fullmoon? They could hurt someone if they were put out with everyone else. Plus it is just for one night. If they end up here longer its because they did something wrong. If there were no punishments then everyone would just do whatever they wanted and then everything would be out of control." Clayton said. He spoke a little quickly, like he was nervous. Maria was upset about all of this and somehow that made him think she was upset with him. He knew that his though process wasn't seriously flawed but he couldn't help but think it.

"Humans got punishments if they brake laws to."

"Humans only go to jail when they've done something wrong, Clayton - having a violent wolf isn't wrong, and penning up creatures meant to run wild is wrong, and putting a human in a cage like this is barbaric."

Maria rubbed her temples as a headache started behind her eyes, a reminder her body always sent her when the full moon was just around the corner. Her face scrunced as she tried to think of a good way to explain it to him.

"It... it's like..." she muttered.

Then her face lit up, and she looked at him with the passionate expression of someone who'd found the answer they were desperately looking for.

"Most people say that our wolf is a disease or a demon, and they aren't completely wrong, but it's more of a spirit that's part of us. It's like we're connected more deeply with nature, it brings out our wildness and animal qualities we abandoned centuries ago. For weeks this wild spirit is kept pent up in our bodies - we're its cage, Clayton. It can't stretch, or stand, or howl, or hunt, or run. We keep it muzzled and cramped inside, and when the full moon comes it can finally get out and stretch the way its meant to, but when some of them do, they find they're just in another cage, another place where they can't do the things wolves are supposed to do. Living as a slave we at least get to move and act and speak for ourselves, but when the moon comes to hear the wolves and watch them live on their own without us interfering, they get shut up and locked away to spend the night in misery. Who cares if they can pace or get food and sleep on a nice bed? That isn't living, and these creatures only have thirteen days each year to live."

Clayton was speechless. He just stood there with his eyes wide and his mouth slightly open. He looked away from Maria in an attempt to hide the confused expression on his face. He looked like a insane man who had just broke free from his madness only to learn that he was a murderer. The kennel somehow seemed less humain and more like a prison.

The more he spoke to Maria the more strange and confusing thoughts and ideas flooded into his mind. He had lived in the same way his whole life, but now he was coming closer and closer to the mindset that he was not living the normal and fair life that he thought he had.

It took him a mintue or so to respond to Maria.

"It's not like we can change it. You can't set your wolf free and you can't stop it from being locked up." He said softly.

The Pound
Setting

The facility has walls lined with cells, each consisting of three concrete walls, a bare floor, a low ceiling and a wall of clear acryilic which faces the aisle and doubles as a door.

Presently, it's morning and the pound as just opened up for the day.

Plot

The world is such that is condones slavery-- of gifteds, werewolves, vampires and the like. The slave trade is a booming industry, making millionaires within months. Everyone has their own reasons for owning the creatures, some require extra help around the house, others see it as a way to display their wealth, and still others buy them just for the pleasure of breaking them.

As with all things, some people grow tired of their slaves. Now, selling them would take time and energy that some either don't have or are unwilling to waste it on a slave. That is where the 'pound' comes in. They take the discarded slaves, no questions asked and sell them for cheap.

History
The roleplay was made.
Rules

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PLOT WAS NOT MADE UP BY ME!

This roleplay as copied straight from another roleplay from a website called MaraPets. The person who made this roleplay is called Rainkit. Do not give me credit for this, as I did not think of it.

Also please note that I do not in anyway think that slavery is okay in real life!

You may join as a human, gifted, werewolf or vampire.

Humans are never slaves.

Please keep the number of humans and slaves around even, without both of them the roleplay doesn't work.

Don't make slaves with extreamly dangerous powers, they would have been killed, not sold as slaves.

The point of the roleplay is not to stay in the pound, humans should come in and buy slaves then take them home. It is the person who is controling the human's responsabilty to create a setting. For example a farmhouse, or a big expensive house.

Don't make masters who treat their slave's as equals, its over used and quite frankly, really boring.

You can make a slave who was born into slavery or has never spend a day of their lives as slaves, just make up a good reason why they were never caught.

A quick note on slave breeding. First off don't roleplay anyone doing the deed please!

Second, for werewolves they will give birth to a litter rather than a single child. This is because they cannot change from human to wolf while pregnate or they'll kill their children. Since full moon forces a change, they got to stay as a wolf 100% of the time while pregnate. The litter will be born as pups and will stay as pups until about a month or so until they can shift to their human form.
