Maria didn't seem to hear Orca at first. There was no reaction, not even a shift in her behavior. She just kept eating like nothing had been said to begin with.

"I've had so many jobs I can't imagine what it would be like to only have one for my entire life."

It was said suddenly, out of nowhere, as if she hadn't planned on saying it herself. Of course, that wasn't true. Maria planned nearly everything she did, and when she didn't she was capable of quickly adjusting things so that this new element would fit in properly with her next move.

Orca raised on eyebrow. It seemed strange to him to have more than one job. Not even humans did more than one job unless they were low on income.

"Why would you need a second job?" Orca asked. "It would just be more work and more to learn. Plus how can you become an expert at your job if you need to do two at once?"

Orca had no idea why anyone in their right mind would take up the responceablity of two jobs. It just gave you more of a chance to mess up. If you mess up you got sent to auction and who knows where you could end up.

Maria flashed him a smile that played with her eyes, making them light up in a devilish sparkle like she had been asked an important question that she happened to know the answer to.

"A challenge - I do like those. Besides, who needs to be an expert if you know a little bit of everything? It makes surviving so much easier. Things are so expensive in the outside world as it is that it's just easier to have more than one job. Apartments aren't cheap..." she said, trailing off at the end as her mind wandered back to all of her past living quarters.

Orca's green eyes narrowed in suspicion. Speaking about living in the outside world put up many red flags. He did not care if she happened to be the only one who spoke to him. He had gotten the idea that his job was more imporant than anything else ingrained into his head from a very young age. It was very imporant for watchers to feel that way or else they could be talked into helping excapees.

"Why does that matter?" He said. "It is not like you are going to need to buy anything. You aren't leaving this place and everything you need to live is already given to you."

"Hmm?" she asked, eyes popping back into focus and glancing up at him in surprise. "Oh, no, you must have misunderstood, I was only saying that I don't know what it's like to have a single, long term job because of survival conditions, but now I get that opportunity. It's likely to be very different... You, naturally, would know best about what it's like, I'm sure!"

She turned back to her food, smiling softly to herself. Orca amused her greatly, not, of course, the way that Clayton did, but enough to make her think that keeping him around would be interesting and diverting from the monotony of working at Greyson's 'Great Property'.

"Uh huh.." Orca said slowly, not fully convenced that Maria wasn't planning an excape. Out of everyone here, she was the most likely to try it. She had been free once and had not been given the same kind of training every other person here had.

Orca scooped up the last bit of his oatmeal and ate it before he stood up. He picked up his bowl before he looked down at Maria, who was still sitting.

"It's gonna be a long night." He said. Orca personally did not like full moon very much. He was used to not being able to control what happened to him. However he hated not being in control of his own body. If his wolf did something and was punished for it, he would be the one living with the wounds, not the wolf.

Maria flashedh him an angelic smile before following suit, not bothering to finish all of her food. Even if she had wanted to, she couldn't bring herself to do it. She always had a hard time eating dinners on full moon nights.

"I believe I'm looking foward to it. I suppose my wolf might see yours tonight? Or are you a priviledged person who gets to go hunting?" she asked, beginning to walk away with her trash.

The idea of Orca as a wolf amused her. Though she often forgot what she saw during the time of the transformation back to being herself again, there were some tidbits, if she wanted to know them enough, that both she and her wolf would remember well. She couldn't wait to find out what kind of wolf he was.

Orca was amused by Maria's question. The thought of any wolf being allowed outside of the fence was crazy. They were wild animals and were very dangerous. Just normal wolves were risky to be around, but add the fact that just a bite could change you forever and it is no wonder people would rather have them locked up.

"No one is allowed outside of the fence or kennels on full moon, no matter who you are." Orca said. "Hunting trips are never done on a full moon." He felt like he should still answer her question about his attentance in hunting trips. "But yes, I have been on those trips before."

Maria sighed loudly, voicing her disappointment through her breath. "What a shame! Hunting on the night of a full moon is the most amazing experience I believe I've ever had. Oh well, nothing lasts, especially the good things."

She waved in a kind manner and turned away to go throw her trash out. The conversation she had had with Orca had been, in her mind, enlightening. Anything, even little tidbits like that, were what she liked to hear about.

She passed Clayton and glanced at him, hoping to make eye contact. She was ready to leave for the fenced area but wasn't sure if it was something she was supposed to do alone or with assitance by another.

The meal had been pretty stressful for Clayton, even though nothing out of the ordinary happened. It was just the fact that he had a watcher so close by. It did not help that Tike had decided to sit near him right around the time Clayton had started to fully agree with Maria's excape plans.

He very quickly noticed Maria trying to get him to notice her. Even though he hadn't competely finished his food he stood up. He doupted that he would need to help her get back to the fenced area but he would still use it as an excuse to get away from the table.

"There isn't really a reason for me to come with you." He explained. "Unless you forgot how to get there."

She smiled and winked in a soft manner, her face changing from the friendly look she'd put on for Orca into something more natural and kind.

"I've only forgotten if you have nothing better to do or don't particularly want to be alone for the moment," she said, dumping her trash in the bin and turning to look at him.

She could tell he was nearly back to the same person she had met only the day before, someone scared and timid. That, of course, wasn't a bad thing - she thought it was a good quality in some ways. His little mannerisms and the expresson on his face made her feel a surge of protectiveness and adoration.

A sudden, more passionate smile tugged at her lips, and she said in a happy voice, "You're so cute!"

Clayton blinked in suprised and put on a slightly confused expression. Whenever Maria said things like that he was unsure how to propperly react to it. It was not like anyone else said things like that to him before.

"Umm.. thanks?" He said after a few moments.

"I am alright, I rather not walk all the way down there just so I can be around the master again." He said. Clayton very rarely got in trouble, therefore he very rarely was given punishments from Greyson. However he still was deeply terrorfied of him. He had seen the aweful things he had done to other slaves and Clayton did not want to take their place.

She smiled at him and shrugged, turning away to head for the exit.

"Alright, then I'll be on my way. I believe I'll see you later, dear!" she said, waving over her shoulder and walking off.

Maria was confident in her actions. She knew where she was going, and though she wasn't entirely sure of what was waiting for her she wasn't deterred in the slightest. Long ago she had made the resolution to never let anything intimidate her just because she wasn't used to it, and she stuck to that best she could.

Once outside she headed back down the path that she and Clayton had come from, silently enjoying the good weather and the way the wind tickled at her skin. She didn't care much what happened as long as she could still feel nature's good touch afterwards.

Greyson closed and locked the last cage. The large cages were set up very close to the main fenced in area. The wolves could sniff each other and interact through the fence. This could help Greyson decide if they were safe to put in with the others. Sometimes if things went well he would let them free with the pack on the same night.

The pups were all in there own cages. All three of them were already in there wolf forms and messing around. They were more confortable in that form since they had just went through being a wolf full time for quite a few months.

Now all Greyson had to do was set up Maria. It was starting to get dark now. It wasn't night just yet, but in less than a hour it would be.

Maria saw Greyson near the cages and steeled herself, preparing all sorts of reactions for a large number of scenarios she could forsee happening.

Plan ahead, she thought as she walked up, Plan ahead and everything should go quite alright. Ceara, my dear, behave well tonight. I know, neither of us want to be here, but lend me your trust. Be good to the others, and they will be good to us.

She came up and bowed her head, supressing the urge to sigh before saying, "Forgive my absence, master."

Inwardly she felt something, a more feral instinct that she was sure came from her wolf, rake and claw in agony at bowing before anyone other than nature herself.

The Pound
Setting

The facility has walls lined with cells, each consisting of three concrete walls, a bare floor, a low ceiling and a wall of clear acryilic which faces the aisle and doubles as a door.

Presently, it's morning and the pound as just opened up for the day.

Plot

The world is such that is condones slavery-- of gifteds, werewolves, vampires and the like. The slave trade is a booming industry, making millionaires within months. Everyone has their own reasons for owning the creatures, some require extra help around the house, others see it as a way to display their wealth, and still others buy them just for the pleasure of breaking them.

As with all things, some people grow tired of their slaves. Now, selling them would take time and energy that some either don't have or are unwilling to waste it on a slave. That is where the 'pound' comes in. They take the discarded slaves, no questions asked and sell them for cheap.

History
The roleplay was made.
Rules

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PLOT WAS NOT MADE UP BY ME!

This roleplay as copied straight from another roleplay from a website called MaraPets. The person who made this roleplay is called Rainkit. Do not give me credit for this, as I did not think of it.

Also please note that I do not in anyway think that slavery is okay in real life!

You may join as a human, gifted, werewolf or vampire.

Humans are never slaves.

Please keep the number of humans and slaves around even, without both of them the roleplay doesn't work.

Don't make slaves with extreamly dangerous powers, they would have been killed, not sold as slaves.

The point of the roleplay is not to stay in the pound, humans should come in and buy slaves then take them home. It is the person who is controling the human's responsabilty to create a setting. For example a farmhouse, or a big expensive house.

Don't make masters who treat their slave's as equals, its over used and quite frankly, really boring.

You can make a slave who was born into slavery or has never spend a day of their lives as slaves, just make up a good reason why they were never caught.

A quick note on slave breeding. First off don't roleplay anyone doing the deed please!

Second, for werewolves they will give birth to a litter rather than a single child. This is because they cannot change from human to wolf while pregnate or they'll kill their children. Since full moon forces a change, they got to stay as a wolf 100% of the time while pregnate. The litter will be born as pups and will stay as pups until about a month or so until they can shift to their human form.
