Two men stand at the entrance to the park, their outfits are solid grey. They seem to be waiting for something, or some one.
"How long do you think she'll be in there?" Says one.
"Doesn't matter," replies the second, "Orders are orders. Grab the girl and head to base."
Â
Alianna sat on the bench, looking longingly after the girl. She had a hard time watching some noe who was troubled walk away, especially is she felt she cuold help in some way. She looked at the setting sun, guessing she had roughly fifty minuets until sundown, and a ten minuet flight to her apartment. I can make sure the girl gets home safe... surly her home isn't to far.
Alianna launched into the air with a caw. She gained altitude, about ten feet above the girl, and began to circle her as she walked. She watched the girl, and the surrounding area, for danger. That was when she saw the suited men. I have a bad feeling...
Pushing aside her nervousness, Nakita searched the shop until she came across the freezer room where she found a lot of meat hanging from hooks or packed away. She quickly went over to one of the huge slabs of meat that hung from the hooks and took a bite, ripping off a good sized piece. She continued eating from the meat until her hunger was satisfied, then left through the shadows.
The only bad side wiith traveling through shadows was Nakita had to concentrate on where the she wanted the shadows to take her and they would take her there. When she entered the shadows and focused on being outside, she was not specific enough on where she wanted to be on the outside. So after she had left the safety of the shadows, she was now standing in front of the butcher shop exposed in the open. And to make matters worse, there was a person just a few feet from her heading in her direction, she recognized the person as the girl from the park who had fed the raven.
Nakita quickly turned and bolted away, disappearing into the nearest shadow she could find.
Atria looked back again only to see that the crow was no longer back there on the bench, she sighed a bit saddened by the notion she`d probably never see that bird again; though she felt lucky just to have met such a special bird and felt comfort in that notion. She ceased looking back and walked on, mostly looking off in the distance and scarcely aware of her surroundings as usualâ€â€not even noticing that the crow was circling above, but keeping at least somewhat guarded, it paid to be alert when walking in the city at night especially the park; only a fool allowed themselves to be completely unfocused. She avoided eye contact with the various people she passed, and soon she made her way o the entrance of the park.
Most people evaded her attention altogether, but even being as swept up in thought as she wasâ€â€she couldn`t help but notice two conspicuous looking guys in suits standing near the entrance. Though she only regarded them pettily ‘probably just getting off work’ she thought with a shrug assuming they were business men; way too quick to dismiss their presence there and walked on, but stayed guarded, you could never be too sure about anyone’s intentions and she was getting a negative vibe from them. She hastened her pace.
Something nagged in the back of Alianna's mind, something important she couldn't remember. She swept over the ground below, taking note of everything. What was it she couldn't remember?
The men were dressed in grey, with a black sedan... men dressed in grey. Alianna had over heard a conversation that someone's sister had started acting strange, and these men had come and taken her away.
Alianna watched them carfully, a sinking feeling settling in her stomach. As the girl walked past them, she noticed only the subtle shift of movment. Alianna, now fearful for the girl, cawed a warning just as one of the men reached out to grab her arm.
A strident caw rang out forcing Atria out of her musings, compelling her to catch the man’s movement out of the periphery of her vision just in time. She reflexively sidestepped him, shuffling backward hastily. Her heart rate increased and she became agitated, feeling grateful to the crow for its timely warning; she didn`t dare look around for the bird, but she knew it was the one from the park.
“Hey, what`s your deal?!†she spat vexatiously, narrowing her eyes on him rebelliously while continuing to back away out of their reach 'not good!' “If you try to touch me again I’ll scream†she threatened them brashly, feigning audacity in a feeble attempt to stagger them “I swear itâ€Â. 'Oh man--I might be in trouble' she didn`t even bother imagining what they might have wanted with herâ€â€nothing pleasant she was sure, and it was fairly obvious she wouldn`t be able to take them in a fight , but if they touched her; they may come to regret that decision, because she wouldn`t go down without putting up one heck of a fight first; she fought like an animal when cornered.
Without waiting for a response she stole a glance down the street anxiously, before fixing her eyes back on the immediate threat at hand, and the back down the street as she considered making a run for it. Though it was probably foolhardy to try to out run two full grown well built men, it didn`t take her longer than an instant to chose that route over waiting for them to make another move; her mind worked fast as the whole confrontation lasted mere moments. Trusting in her athleticism and expecting their bulky cloths to slow them down, she burst into a full out sprint. The street was eerily empty, devoid of the usual presence of pedestrians and cars; she didn`t like this at all, ‘legs don`t fail me now’ she thought uneasily, refusing to look back.
Alianna watched the girl turn and run before the men could act again. At once, one brought a walkie-talkie looking device out of his pocket. Crap, he is calling for back up...
The other man gave chace, sprinting after the girl. Alianna's feathers ruffled in anger. Leave her alone!! She screamed inside, diving towards the man in a ball of black fury. She flew infront of him, cawing and screeching with bitterness and resentment. One thing she liked about beeing a bird, she could inflict some damage.
She pecked at the guy's forehead, nose, and eye, attempting to distract him long enough for the girl to make a get away or find a hiding spot for now. Alianna hoped she did one of the two soon, as her wings were starting to get heavy as night time pushed forward. This made her fight all the harder. Think fast, kid.
Cawing and screeching could be heard coming from behind… had that crow come to her aid again? Even so Atria didn`t dare look back even for an instant for dread that she would see one of those guys closing in, she hoped the crow would be alright.
She was a star sprinter for sure, but she was only good to go for about two hundred meters or so; already she could feel the telling burn of lactic acid building on her muscles. Her eyes shot around looking for other people, an escape route… anything 'where the heck is everyone? What's going on?'. Time was of the essence, and even a single second couldn`t be wasted. ‘Can’t lead those freaks home’ she decided sensibly as she made a sharp turn into an alley, knocking over trash cans as she crashed into them rounding the corner at an all out sprint. She staggered back onto her feet quickly and started to run again before a chain link fence cutting the alley into forced her to skid to a stop. She wasted no time launching herself into it, grabbing hold and pulling herself up hurriedly, before jumping down on the other side and proceeding to resume her mad dash. She was slowing down noticeably and greatly needed to take a breather.
‘There!’ she thought pointedly while rounding a corner back onto a side road as she caught sight a cluster of bushes in the court yard of a church some distance away. She managed to force herself to close the distance even though her vigor was already spent and used the last of her energy to throw herself behind them, peering through apprehensively while attempting to stifle her heavy breathing; she doubted they had seen where she went, but one could never be too careful 'what do these freaks want with me?’ she wondered tensely.
"Dang bird!" The man cried, spitting fury my way. Alianna flapped her wings and kicked off the man's face just as he drew a gun. Her heart bottomed out and she ucked, swooping beneath the closest car. The man gave out a string of curses.
She didn't wait to listen, she hopped out the other side and took flight, flapping her wings twice as hard as she normally would. The sun was setting fast, and she couldn't hold this form much longer. She flew high, looking for any sign of the girl. Please, god, say she got away. The man walked back to his comrad, yelling about his bird attack as Alianna circled away. She looked on ever growing circles. Where the heck was everyone in this area? Did a hole in the ground eat them?
Not taking time to ponder, Alianna saw the girl from her bird-eye advantage. Â Thankfully, she was hidding near a church, who had its doors open. Alianna eyed the sun, her time ticking. She dropped from the sky, a little faster than she should have, landing with a muffled thud next to the girl's hiding spot. Alianna gave a weak, hoarse cry and shook herself from the ungracful landing. She looked at the girl, cawed, and hopped to the curch. She turned to caw once more, and dissapeared inside.
Alianna could only hope that the girl had followed her in, but she didn't currently have time to check. Alianna hopped her way to the bathroom, using her body to shut the door. With that out of the way, she stopped fighting the transformation.
It was like a rubber band letting go, a sudden releif of pressure. Her beak shrank, her legs lengthaned, and her wings became arms. Alianna's feathers pulled inward and were replaced by the cloths she was wearing this morning.
Alianna looked down at herself. She was wearing jeans and a black T-shirt with the pokemon X and Y logo, along with Xerneas and Yevental. She exited the bathroom, looking around. She saw the girl, who was looking around the place warily. Alianna made a split decision not to tell the girl off the bat. "Can I help you? You look like you've been running from criminals." She said, aware of how close to the truth it was.
Alianna leaned against the doorframe casually, putting her hands in the air. "Calm down, I'm not with the bad guys. I'm a friend, and I just want to help you out." Alianna could understand the girl's hesitance, to her, she had just popped out of nowhere. "My name is Alianna, and I'm not sure what is going on here I think..." Allianna chose her words carefully here. "I think they are after people with certain... traits... or something like that. I've not been able to look into it."
"Now, my apartments isn't to far from here. We can go there and you can call your parents and tell them whats going on, or tell them a lie." Alianna shrugged putting her hands down. "Or I can get you a cab home. Either way, I'm not going to leave you alone until I know your safe." She paused. "But a tip, you might not want to bring this home."
Nashville, Tenneessee, home of country music. With buisy city to streets to mild suburbs, there are plenty of places for someone cursed to blend in. This will be the start of our roleplay, but in the quest to escape The Grey Men our characters will find themselves racing across the country to locations near and far.

But not everything in this world is so modern.
They have always lived among us; the cursed. You are one of these. These people are just like everyone else, but as suggested, the are cursed. There are an all matter of curses, there is no limit to the tings people are cursed for; from never being able to love to harming those you do love. From never being able to lie to being able to do nothing but lie. For hundreds of years, these people were hidden among society and keeping their identities hidden. They all coped as best they could.
Now, a secret government organization known only as 'The Grey Men' have begun seeking these people out to... to do god knows what with them. As one of the cursed, you must avoid these men at all cost for fear of some sinister plan they hold for you and your people.
Whatever you do, don't let the world know who you are.
The Roleplay takes place in a here-and-now setting, the history is the same as the world history. However, if you look closly at the history books, you will find traces of these cursed people going back as far as time can remember, but they've always been hidden among us.
It is the standard Role-play rules, no mod-godding, no cussing, ECT. For now, The Grey Men will not be playable, though they will be once the RP gets established. Your character is cursed, but you are free to make the curse whatever you wish it to be. However, please not that the cursed need to be able to hide within society. Also, its a curse; you make the best of it, but that does not mean you enjoy the curse.
ÂÂÂ
I may add things as the RP progresses, I want this RP to be character driven. So Have Fun!
ÂÂÂ
*If your character is cursed to become and animal, they cannot do inter-species communication except through body laguage and such. Birds talk to birds, people talk to people ECT.
