Ah, fall is begining to approach here in Nashville Tenneessee. Vibrant colors are begining to peek through the lush greenery as temperatures cool. Frost is begining to form at night, and the air is brisk in the wind or shade.

Today is wednesday, and the sun is shining. The air is cooler, border-lining to cool to go out and enjoy the local parks or out door eating establishments. Weather reports are coming in as nothing but clear weather for the next few days.

It is mid-day, and people are just now heading home from work. People shuffle down the streets with smiles and cars drive home to families, oblivious to the Cursed among them.

Alianna sat on a telephone wire, her back turned to the slight breeze that had picked up in the five minuets she had been there. The sun warmed her as the black of her feathers absorbed the minor heat it put out today. Alianna was greatful for her warm downy feathers. Cars zipped by beneath her as she sunned, oblivious.

Perhaps I could find something to eat... She thought to herself, spreading her great wings into the air. With a few powerful flaps, she was air born and flying over the nearest fast food joints. Sometimes, someone left and order of fries dumped outside the trash can. Today, no one appeared to be lazy though, and the parking lots were spotless. Ruffling her feathers in annoyance, Alianna flew towards a park.

It was her favorite park, there were beautiful fountains filled with sparkling water. Trees of all kinds grew together to make plenty of perches. One major attraction though was the popcorn stand. The owner threw out stale popcorn to the birds, (conveniant for a human cursed to be a raven) and people liked to throw perfectly good popcorn at birds as well. Settling on the back of a park bench, Alianna waited for someone to throw popcorn. Please don't take to long fate...

Moving through the shadows made her feel as if she were flying through air as she moved within the darkness. She had decided that she would wander through the city today, watching people as they went about their normal routines. It angered her that they could live a normal life while she was to remain stuck to this curse for the rest of her life. Nakita had to skip school during the middle of the day for the past few months, mainly thanks to the curse taking control and making her shift without warning, and it was becoming harder and harder to explain to the teachers and her parents. She let out a sigh and continued her exploration.
Atria wandered the sidewalks, having skipped school yet again. She`d been doing that a lot lately; just couldn’t deal with the pressure of it all. Sooner or later she knew her parents would find out about it, and she wasn`t looking forward to them reprimanding her for it either. Her grades were slipping, the possibility of getting arrested for truancy was ever lingering, and then there was the fact that she dangerous… everything was going downhill lately it seemed. She just needed a way to get away from it all-- a quite place to think, to relax, and to help put her at ease. She moved along hurriedly, deliberately giving any passerby’s a wide berth and keeping her hands firmly stuffed into her pockets; anything to avoid trouble.

She made her way to a nearby park, finding a bench out away from where there were people, and taking a seat. It was on the cooler side to be comfortably dressed the way she was, but she had the tolerance to ignore minor discomforts, such things where of the least concern on her mind. After taking some time to enjoy the scenery, and take some deep calming breathes to relief stress, she leaned back to resign herself to the deliberations of her mind, and allow everything else to fall away into the background putting her mind at least for however brief a time it would be; at ease. No feeling could have been more welcome. Times like these, times when she was at peace, she wished every moment could be as peaceful. This regimen she had been performing almost religiously as of late and she felt it was absolutely necessary to prevent any more…incidences. Her mind started to stray to the last time she had lost control—she could still smell the fire… she closed her eyes forcefully and shook her head, pushing those thoughts back out of her mind before they could take root, loosing herself to pleasant thoughts instead. One thing was for sure— things like that couldn`t happen again—the guilt was too much to bear… her eyes opened as she let out a cavernous sigh; it wasn`t working today, she couldn’t unwind at all. Too much to think about at once; if getting air wouldn’t work what would? She wondered apprehensively, before decided it was probably better to just take a walk and try to relax that way instead.

Alianna wasn't sure how long she sat on the back of that bench, she only knew that no one threw any popcorn on the ground for the birds. Her stomach was in the middle of letting her know how annoyed it was that she'd had nothing to eat when a Nurf dart whizzed over her head. Alianna spun just as another dart, fired by some eight year old kid, hit her in the side.

You do NOT shoot Nurf darts at wildlife! She thought angerly, launching herself into the air. Scwacking and cawing, Alianna chased the now terrified boy across the park. She would fly a few yards and then hop a few, staying a couple feet after the boy's fleeing form while she raised all sorts of noise. Several people paused to laugh at the raven chasing the boy, its feather ruffled and a Nurf dart stuck in its wing.

Alianna stopped eventually, her feathers fluffed out in annoyance. She flapped her wings for emphaisis, sending the Nurf dart flying into the fountain near by. However, she wasn't about to leave the yellow styrofoam there. She hoped onto the ledge and promptly began chasing the dart with her beak. I hate doing good deeds. I think I've swallowed half the water. She thought, finally catching the dart. She then fluttered over to a trash can and dropped it in, then finally looked up to see what was going on around her.

Max had been sitting in some off highway woods for quite a while now, rubbing his arms as if he had some kind of allergy to something, but the truth was that he was starting to change. again. his arms, in place of pure skin were beginning to sprout all too familiar silvery feathers...even his head was having soft feathers take the place of his short blonde hair. He heard some people talking in the distance, so he cautiously got up as fast as he could, and jogged off. For all he knew they could be those....'grey men' that he'd known slightly about. Max gripped his right arm once more, feeling a shocking pain that jolted his brain quite a bit...greeeat. wings were the most pleasant things to grow into. After a few minutes of cowering in a small ball, a form of a large seabird took max's place. He let out a large screech, and then took to the sky, watching cars wizz by...clumsily, max landed on a telephone wire, seeing a raven chasing a young boy around...could he talk to such a bird? shyly, max let out a muffled, "...hello?"
Sticking to the alley ways made it easy for her to get through the city, as well as make her unseen by everyone else. The only glimpses of her were made if she passed through the light, and luckily no one saw her yet. She paused for a moment, her eyeless skull looking up at a seabird perched on a telephone wire. Her gaze shifted to the park that sat several feet away, spotting a raven near a fountain that was in the center of the park. Her long black ears swiveled, one perking up as the other was tilted. She opened her mouth, letting out a loud barking shriek that would send chills down a person's spine.

Atria walked along silently musing, but was torn out of a relatively calm state of mind by a clamorous commotion and laughter; a curious mix of noise that demanded her attention. She only caught sight of the end of the crows amusing display, but found what the bird did next to be even more interesting; it seemed to be rather clever picking something orange out of the fountain and taking the time to drop it into the trash even. This wasn`t usual behavior for a crow or any bird for that matter; how did it help the crow to know this? At any rate, the bird had managed to capture her attention, she then wanted to know just how smart it was. She impulsively bought some popcorn and approached the bird slowly throwing some in its direction. She was certain this crow would simply fly away if she got too close; that was expected, but she was bracing herself for disappointment nonetheless.

The peculiarity didn`t end their however, just as she threw another handful of popcorn a large seabird flew in an landing on the very same fountain… it wasn`t completely out of the way to see seabirds around even considering the remote proximity to the sea, but it was of definite interest to see one so far inland at that time of the year. As she pondered that, an unnerving shriek sounded off… Did the wonders ever cease? Something strange was going on in the park, she could feel it…

Alianna watched with pure excitement as someone bought some popcorn. Hope fluttered in her as the girl approached, watching the raven. A piercing shriek echoed through the air that sent chills up Alianna's spin, causing her to turn around behind her. Predators concerned Alianna; as a raven she was susceptible to getting eaten. Nothing could be seen but the shadows, unsettling Alianna further.

A shy 'hello' caught Alianna's attention as a sea bird landed on the fountain. Her head swiveled to the side, confusion in her features. How is I can understand you? She wondered. Alianna had attempted to talk to other birds before, but she was never able to understand them. "Um... hi?" She said questioningly, not sure if her squawk was understood.

When the girl threw the popcorn, Alianna's attention fully shifted to the prospect of food. She fluttered from her perch on the edge of the trash can to the popcorn on the ground. After eating a few pieces (she didn't care about germs, she was a raven after all), she looked back up at the girl. Alianna was grateful, and she would do the best she could at a thank you as a raven could.

Alianna spun in a circle three times, reversed and spun the opposite direction three times, and stopped to look directly at the girl. Alianna then touched her beak to her chest, opened one wing, and lowered her forehead into a bow. After waiting a few seconds, Alianna popped back up and began eating more popcorn. She glanced at the seagull. "You can have some if you want." She said, hoping he understood her.

Atria snapped out of her momentary stupor she`d been compelled into by that unsettling shrieking noise. A quick glance around revealed nothing out of the ordinary, so she merely shrugged away any uncertainties; she simply couldn`t be bothered enough to ponder it any further, writing it off as merely a figment of her overactive imagination. Her attention turned back to the crow who was putting on a rather bizarre show for her in response to the popcorn. She smiled, which was something of a rarity for her; this bird was certainly fascinating, it had to have been someone’s pet at one time—surely a wild bird wouldn’t do these things? At any rate, the bird was of noteworthy intelligence and this intrigued her greatly. She sat down on a bench next to the fountain, and threw some more popcorn; content to watch this entertaining bird.

Alianna cawed happily as more popcorn was thrown to her. She ate, taking breaks every so often to do some sort of trick. She rolled over, jumped around backwards, and used her wings to sweep the popcorn into neat little piles. She liked this girl. The girl seemed like the kind that smiled rarely, but when she did, it was the kind of smile that lite up all her features. Alianna was determined to keep that smile going for as long as possible.

After eating all she could, and feeling like she couldn't fly, Alianna fluttered onto the bench the girl sat on. She left some popcorn on the ground, incase the seagull decided to eat. Alianna moved near the girl, and nuzzled her beak under the girls hand. I don't know what inner demons you face, but thank you, you've helped me with some of mine without knowing.

Atria was captivated by the crow’s quaint actions, watching the bird as she was then; it just allowed her other troubles to melt away into the background, even if only for a short time. Suddenly the crow did something even less expected; it landed right next to her on the bench, even going as far as nuzzling her hand. Now Atria was sure of it—this crow had to have been someone’s pet; it seemed like a trained bird, very familiar with humans and friendly. “Someone must be missing you” she though aloud astutely and sighed “or maybe you ran away” she continued thoughtfully, glancing up for a moment “it must be awesome to fly” she mused “leavening all your troubles behind, touching the sky” she sighed “now that’s freedom” she mused as she experimentally attempted to pet the bird to if it would let her. Talking to animals made her feel better; she could tell them anything with security in the knowledge that they could never tell anyone else “you know something” she started “maybe I should run away too… everyone would be better off…”

Alianna sat stone still as the girl pet her, smoothing the feathers along her back. It was funny to her in a way, the poor girl had no idea that Alianna was a person who was simply cursed. Alianna listened silently to the girl talk about freedom, and running away.

Alianna looked closer at the girl, really examining what sat next to her. The girl seemed to be a few years younger than herself, and wasn't the type Alianna would suspect of skipping school. Then again, she had no room to judge, but still...

Running away isn't the answer, and flying... it is freedom, but not the kind your looking for. You have your whole life ahead of you, you have opertunities I could only dream of... The raven yearned to tell the girl. She want to comfort her and let her know that the road to success burned more that the one to failure... but how?

Alianna looked around, hoping that there were scrabble keys or letter blocks somewhere, but nothing presented itself. Alianna looked at the girl with a sorrowful expression, but she didn't know if the girl would read her features. So, as she looked at the girl with empathy, she hopped into her lap and sat down. But the only problem was, the sun was going down. She would have to leave soon to get home before her change...

Wow, how time flies! It is roughly an hour before sunset, with the air already cooling in preperation of night. The forcast is cold, but it will be a crisp and dry night. In the morning, some pop-ups may be expected throughout the day as a good size storm aproaches; due to hit around late friday night.

To add on to the upcoming weather, and unusually high amount of crimes have started up, something is coming the characters' way...

Watching the raven eating made Nakita feel hungry herself, hearing her own stomach growl. She turned and ran off, moving through the shadows until she reached an alley that stood behind a butcher shop. She had come here many times when she felt hungry. In this form, the taste for meat had grown to where she wanted to eat raw meat even when in human form.

She stepped through the shadows as she entered inside the shop, but saw no one. The shop was always open during the week, and yet there were no people inside. Something about this wasn't right, making her feel uneasy and alert as she searched for food.
