Diet	Carnivorous	Dimetrodon roamed Texas and Oklahoma, Eastern Europe and Russia over 40 million years before the first dinosaurs appeared. They had huge sails on their back, which many scientists theorize were used to catch the sun and warm them faster than their prey. They are thought to have run much like modern reptiles, and get their name from the fact that they have both shearing teeth and sharp canine teeth.
