Dilophosaurus was a carnivorous theropod living in the early jurassic period in the USA. It is an easily recognizable one because of the two crests resting atop its head, which scientists believed it used for display to attract mates! Dilos had a notch just after the crests, which gave it an almost crocodile appearance - and it is thought that due to this it scavenged rather than hunted, as the front teeth were weak and would have caused it difficulty to bring down prey. |
