Deinonychus was a swift and lightweight predator, equipped with some vicious-looking claws to stab flesh and a long, stiff tail to act for balance. Living in the early cretaceous period, it is thought to have hunted in packs and possessed a good deal of intelligence, and fits the bill better for the Jurassic Park "velociraptors." ;) |
