Exhibited Carnivore Size Charts
Here's something I started a long while ago, abandoned, and resumed after someone requested it.

Size charts, divided into categories, with the exhibited carnivores in scale to the best of my abilities. Dinosaurs are categorized based on their length from nose to tail. The sizes are referenced from the museum, wikipedia, and about.com.
Also, I've probably messed this up. Oh well.
When I have time, I might edit these and straighten out the curled tails so I can get more accurate than just eying them.

I will try to keep this updated for new species, and scientifically accepted re-evaluations of previous data... but I make no promises.

1. Small: less than 3ft
2. Medium: 4ft-9ft
3. Large: 10ft-25ft
4. Huge: 25 and greater
Keep in mind, small, medium, and large are in the sense of dinosaurs. A 9ft long carnivore is still plenty large in human standards, but little stuff compared to it's larger cousins.

Fantastic guide... unfortunately I didn't see my favorite on here, the Guanlong... Maybe you could fit them on here somehow? :D
Post: #207738
I agree, this guide is very impressive, and gives me a much better idea on exactly how big our favourite species are. I'm surprised Carnotaurus is the same size as Megaraptor, I was always under the impression it was the size of Allosaurus or just a little bigger. The more you know!

Thank you both. <3

I will be trying to keep it up to date, some species have been added since I started though.
Still, if I can get the main files with intact layers off my old PC I can update very easily (I just haven't gotten around to moving all the files yet.)

Also, it seems like someone asked me to do herbivores. That probably isn't going to happen, there are so many and drawn such I would have a lot of trouble with the scale.

Neato Ank, this is awesome!! I also didn't spot Dimes, but they are still quite new ^^ But... one question; Why is the person's height changing/over 13ft tall? [Edit: Should have read the measurements/description above first -shot-] Lol. Still I love this idea and think that the charts are bomb :D <33

You should say 'Like a flea,' when referring to lightening fast reflexes. *nodnod.

Okay, images have been updated to include guanlong, dimetrodon, and balaur. :D
I typo'd guan though, from everything I can tell it was actually more like 10ft than 11. I will fix it next time I update if I remember.

Guanlong - 10 ft
Dimetrodon - 11 ft
Balaur - 3 ft

Post: #219350
Ank? Think you possible got the Balaur's size wrong? According to Wiki they are like 5.96.9 ft in lenght, about the size of velociraptors.

<3

Post: #219354
Of course it's possible. XD
Thank you for letting me know, I'll look into it. ^_^

I admit I didn't double check my source (about.com) for balaur and guanlong. I'll see what some other sites have to say and fix it. (Or at least make note of it on the first post until I can fix it officially.)

Edit:
Yep, looks like whoever did the about.com entry confused height and length, it was indeed about 6ft long like velociraptor.

Post: #230783
rex was about 43 ft or maybe even 50 ft!
Wy is my avatar in underpants? Cause he likes it! Thats why!
Post: #237082
Think you can fit the Baryonyx on the chart?

Great chart. ^^
Post: #237100
hmmm could we do a height chart too? some of these measurments compared to the human seem way off...surely a carnataur is much taller than a human O-o and im pretty sure velociraptor is supposed to be as tall if not only a little shorter than a human x.x this length thing is confusing....perhapse it just looks wrong cause of all the dinos stances the carnataur is hunched pretty far and the velociraptor well... O-o ive never been impressed by him, when i think of a velo i think of jurasic park, and this fluffy bird thing is just....idk cant take it serious...dosent look threatening at all, in all honesty utharaptor looks more like how the velociraptor should look x.x bah! whatever ima quit rambleing please ignore me
Post: #237121
Sapphire, your info is outdated. The velociraptor-model that was used in Jurassic Park was way over-scaled, it resembled more Deinonychus than a real Velociraptor. It has also been proved that Velociraptor, like many other raptors are feathered. If you want to go for scaly, there are scaled species too on EX, like Herrerasaurus, Eoraptor, Dilophosaurus, Compsognathus,Coelophysis, Ornitholestes, Oviraptor and Megaraptor.

This height cart is accurate, Velociraptor is "that small". And I gotta thank Ankokou, without this cart I would probably still be getting information about sizes and have a hard time comparing. I only want to raise the bigger species and this cart is REALLY helpful (: Thanks Ankokou and keep up the great job!
Post: #237464
that may be but i still dosent seem right in my mind >.< scaly tall and vicious is all i can think of when i think velociraptor :/ the fluffy thing....is....ew x.x
Post: #246260
Awesome chart! Thanks for posting!
I knew a lot of these raptors were tiny, but I never realized they were actually no larger than my pet cat! XD
Do you think you could add the Archaeopteryx? It's a flying raptor, so you could put over the human and the other dino's heads.

Post: #259353
Sinornithosaurus are NOT 13 feet long. I think that was a typo... they should be slightly less than 3 feet

My dog Poppy ___My computer is fixed!!! Well mostly. The CD hole thing is still a little bit broken but it isn't torn in half now. And the "bevel" isn't broken, and the touch pad works, and it clicks. And the battery charger works now!! YAY!___
Post: #259384
Yeah, it's a typo, but the scale is correct in the image (unlike Balur, which is still incorrect and I have yet to fix it.)

Sorry for the missing dinos, older art, and errors. I haven't had time to update this in a while (or rather, the free time I have had I spend playing Skyrim.)
I actually have two weeks off starting Monday, if I have time I'll try to get everything up to date and fixed.
