Emma sighed and plucked at a pink rose in thought. She fluttered her wings softly, before flopping down and stopping to think. What if a possible friend came out of the bushes? She stared at them in hope, but no one came. Emma thought about the warp with Poison. She was sometimes referred to as Queen a poison, but Poison sounded mor catchy. Emma sighed and trotted to a clearing, digging her sparkly silver claws into the ground. She growled softly at the thought of lives being taken every day. This war had been going on for 3 years, and she didn't want it to be 100 years. She had made a promise to her parents, and planned to keep it.
Sorry, by warp, I meant war.

Sorin dashed around the hut and leaped over a fence. He then somersaulted over a crate of apples and dashed away. He loved free running. It was the best thing to clear his mind. "Gotta get to Emma," said Sorin. He'd known her since he was a toddler, and even developed a crush on her later in the years. The crush had died down as he matured. She was four years older than him, and it would be weird. Sorin front flipped over a passing cabbage cart and headed for the buildings. He dipped into an alleyway, leaping from wall-to-wall, side to side, before catching hold of a windowsill and back flipping onto the other building's roof. Even though Sorin had wings and could just fly, he had to be ready and prepared to move around without them. His uncle lost his wings long ago, meaning his flying days were over. Freerunning, parkour, and martial arts was key to Sorin's life without wings. He had to be prepared. Sorin dashed over the roof and dove off, catching hold of another windowsill before leaping off, falling with a spiral, and landing feet first on a dumpster. The sound alerted the guard dogs, who quickly sprang into action. "Here we go again," said Sorin. He leaped off the dumpster and took off. The two Rottweilers and one mastiff barked viscously as they chased after Sorin. Sorin laughed, leaping to a nearby wall and using it as leverage to leap off and spiral flip over another fence. Sorin didn't slow down when he landed. The dogs had jumped over the fence. Sorin continued to free run, bouncing off objects and running up walls. The snow leopard boy looked back as the dogs were closing in. "Yeah, I don't think so," he said, facing forward. Another, much taller fence stood before Sorin's path. The dogs snarled as they closed in. As Sorin reached the fence, he ran up the fence, reached the top, and jumped off, front flipping before spreading his wings and flying away. The dogs were halted by the fence, barking madly. "Punks!" exclaimed Sorin. He soared into the forest. Soon he landed on a hill and looked down to a clearing. He smiled as he saw Emma in the clearing. Sorin took flight, soaring down to the clearing and landing on his feet. "Hey, beautiful, what's up?" asked Sorin with a teasing smile and an arched eyebrow.

Emma smiled when she saw Sorin. The only guy who like he who didn't like her because of her beauty. She walked up to him and rubbed her jaw against his cheek. " Hey, Sorin. How is everything? Is Poison's army closer? Queen Dazzle's?" Emma asked quickly. She smiled faintly at him. Emma was usually very shy around him. Emma suddenly stared at his left shoulder. " Hey, you have a scratch. Are you okay?" Emma gasped, grabbing a leaf and pawing it onto his shoulder. Emma almost shuddered as his soft fur brushed against her paw. Emma really was testing her shyness limits now. Emma nuzzled Sorin's cheek and smiled widely.
Sorin chuckled, playfully pushing Emma away. "I'm fine, mom," he chortled. "And the cut appeared when I was free running," said Sorin. "You know that's my thing," he said. "The dogs came after me again, but I lost them like always," said Sorin. He walked over to the flowers. "Besides, I really need to work on my sharp turns and spins," said Sorin. He looked at her. "And yeah, there's word," said Sorin, his face serious. "Dazzle's army is three days away from here, but Poison's is two," he said. "We might not be ready in time, but I think we might be able to pull it off," said Sorin. He jumped over Emma and plopped down on a boulder. "So, are you day dreaming again or what?" he asked, biting at his nails while his tail moved back and forth. "I was thinking we could go see Talon or call him here so we'd go exploring again in the ruins," said Sorin. "Which the grown ups prohibited us from doing, but you know me, I only listen to my mom and Ray, the one who taught me to fight," said Sorin. "And they haven't said a word about it, so I'm cool," he said.
Emma sighed. " You really do test your limits, Sorin. Just let me clean up that cut, SON," Emma chuckled. She thought about Queen Dazzle. " It's not that Dazzle's evil, I'm just constantly framed by them. And they think that violence is the only way to solve this battle." Emma grabbed a tube of pass it of her satchel and applied it to a small, white bandage. " This cut could get infected if we're not careful. And I noticed your progress in your spins and turns. I wish I was like that, but I only am able to do those when I'm in danger and in a panic." Emma continued talking. Emma plastered the bandage to Sorin's shoulder. " And we CAN get Talon. I haven't been to the ruins in a while," Emma then paused, sighing. " Sorin...about the war.... I get so scared every time you go away like that. I mean....what if you...died?" Emma's voice wobbled.
Sorin studied Emma's face. "Emma, I can handle myself and you know it," said Sorin. He stayed still as she tended to his cut. "I've gone and came back from many of those battles and I'm still in one piece," he said. "You know I have to look after my mom and the funds I get from the war help keep the house in order and everything," said Sorin. "I just wish Ray could help out too, but he's been busy with other things," he said. Sorin sighed as Emma finished. "I wish Dazzle and Poison would leave us alone, for an eternity," said Sorin. "I don't know why my dad even joined, and I don't even know him," he said. Sorin looked at Emma. "All those times I spent fighting the soldiers, what if the ones I'm killing is my father?" he asked. "For all I know, he could be dead right now," said Sorin, looking to the ground. "Anyways, let's trek through this forest and find Talon," he said. "And maybe we could practice on your spins and turns in the air or hey, you could start free running," said Sorin, smiling. The snow leopard teen halted suddenly, his right ear swiveling. He turned his head. He had heard something. "What was that?" he asked.
Emma froze. A sour, foul, evil-smelling scent filled her nose. She steeple back, and bumped into Sorin. Her furry cheeks turned a slight pink. The ferns rustled violently as Emma slid out her claws. Her lips curled as she bared her teeth, ready to attack whatever was in the greenery in front of her and Sorin. " Sorin..." Emma whispered. Emma yelped as a black paw stepped into the clearing. Emma growled. " Show yourself!" Emma hissed. She swiped at the air, snarling at the unknown possible enemy. The horrible smell became worse as she smelled a tang of...blood. ( you decide who or what the thing is, k? )

"Sorin," whispered Emma. Sorin was focused else where. He suddenly heard Emma shout. He sniffed the air and turned around. Something large, black, and smelled of blood had her. "Intruder!" shouted Sorin. He lunged and flipped around, round kicking the intruder in the chest. The intruder grunted, releasing Emma. Sorin whipped out a serrated dagger, whirled around professionally, and stood in battle stance. He guarded Emma. "Who are you, fool?" asked Sorin, growling with his ears flat back. His tail moved about like a snake as he bristled, ruffling his wings. The large black intruder looked at them. Sorin's eyes bulged in surprise. This intruder was no "intruder", but a friendly. It was a large, black panther man. He was bleeding. But where was the smell coming from. Sorin gasped as he saw the large black panther man. The friendly fell to his knees. "Please, help me," he begged, his voice deep. He had a large gash across his stomach, and the smell was coming from the bag around his neck. "What's in the bag, sir?" asked Sorin, still not trusting the brute. "My rotten meal which I couldn't eat...please....I've been robbed and....a-ambushed," said the panther man, falling to the ground. Sorin hurried to the man, checking his bag. Sorin almost threw up as he saw the fish chum. He took the bag and threw it into the bushes.

Sorin then eased the cutlass from the panther man's stomach, with the brute grunting his pain. "We have to get him some help, Emma," said Sorin. Sorin was strong, able to lift the panther man. The man had bird-like wings, and that meant he was a native to their land. "Quick, to the old herb shack across the bridge," said Sorin, hurrying off on foot. "The bag....I need....the bag," wheezed the panther man. Sorin groaned and reluctantly turned around, picking the bag up with his tail and then taking off into the trees. "Emma, come on!" he shouted.

Emma ran after them. She nuzzled the panther man's cheek to comfort him, and flinched at the jealous and slightly hurt look in Sorin's eyes. She looked ahead of her to see the shack. " Hey, you'll be okay." Emma told the winged panther. Emma touched her nose to Sorin's ear. " Don't be jealous, Sorin. Trust me, nothing, NOTHING, will make me leave you." Emma could hardly breath as she told Sorin her thoughts. Holy fish feathers, she needed to toughen up! But she still felt a little odd once she once again saw the slight jealousy in Sorin's handsome eyes.
Sorin rolled his eyes and gave a smile. "Yeah and I know," he said. With a growl, he kicked in the door to the shack and rested the panther man on a table. "I need herbs," he said, digging through drawers. "Hurry....please...hurry," said the panther man, holding his stomach. "Don't worry, sir, we got you," said Sorin, still rummaging. "Emma, keep pressure on his wound and throw his bag over there on the chair," said Sorin, opening a window. He kicked over a vase, looking inside. "Nothing," he said. Sorin dipped over to a cabinet, opening it. "Found them!" he exclaimed. He took most of the herbs and walked over to the table. He spaced them out on the table and began to read some. "We need some for healing sword wounds," he said. The panther man coughed up blood. Sorin gasped. "Oh crap," he said. He grabbed a green vial, popped it open, and began to pour the contents out on the panther man's stomach. "Ah! That stings like a pig's hindquarters!" cursed the panther man, biting his lip. Sorin laughed at the curse. "I know you can do better than that," said Sorin, dressing the wound quickly and unsloppy. "What's your name, sir?" asked Sorin. "Onyx," said the panther man. "How old are you, Onyx?" asked Sorin, wiping some of the excess away. "Twenty-two," said Onyx, grunting from the stinging. "I'm Sorin, that's Emma, and you my friend....have just been rescued," said Sorin, stepping back as he bandaged the wound. Onyx looked at his stomach. "That was quick," he said, breathing heavily. "I learned from the best," said Sorin, nudging Emma. Onyx looked at Emma, staring a bit before looking around. "Where are we?" he asked.

"In my home!" roared Atticus. "What possible reasons could you young ones have to be browsing around and taking it upon yourselves to mess up all of my equipment!" roared Atticus. He was furious. Who were these young cat people? "Answer me! You broke a century old vase, one that's been passed down from generations!" he shouted, smoke rising from his nostrils. The panther man edged off the table in surprise. "It's a dragon," said the panther man. Atticus growled. "No, it's little Red Riding Hood and the seven dwarves," he snapped. He lunged, not at the cats, but at the broken vase. "How could you ransack my home?" he asked, cleaning up the pieces. "SPEAK!" he roared, whirling and sending flames over their heads. The panther man ducked, grabbing the cat girl and cat boy and bringing them low. "Don't you dare not answer a superior! I need an explanation, you tresspassers!" shouted Atticus. His wings spread as he poised his claws. "Why...are...you...HERE!" he roared. "They had to heal me. I was attack, good sir. My name is Onyx. You must be Atticus," said the panther man. "I came here to deliver an important message from Baron Otis," said Onxy, edging over to the bag and opening it. Attius looked inside. "I see nothing but fish guts, panther," growled Atticus. "It's what's under the chum, good sir," said Onyx. Atticus watched as he reached inside and retrieve a glowing silver gem. Atticus relaxed as his eyes bulged. "My word, you are the messenger," said Atticus. He looked at the other two. "Who in blazes are these two!" he roared.

Emma leaped away from Atticus. " I'm Emma, a and this is my...my friend, Sorin. We have to use your house to heal this panther. We mean no harm, Atticus. We just need to help this cat," Emma explained in a rush, alarm rushing through her. The dragon scared her. He looked dangerous. Emma stepped closer to Sorin, breathing in his warm scent. He would protect her, she knew it with all her heart. Emma stood firm, looking the dragon in the eye. The look in his eyes scared her. Emma was ready to run if she had too. His dragon certainly seemed furious. WAY furious.
Sorin almost jumped as the dragon appeared. He watched as Onyx and Atticus socialized. "Yeah, he seems healed now, so we're gonna go," said Sorin, taking Emma by the hand and heading for the door. Onyx jumped in their way. "Hold up, I have to repay you for what you did," said Onyx. "Oh, repay us in the village not too far away from here, bye," said Sorin, edging around Onyx. Atticus's tail slammed in front of him, blocking both their paths. "You're not leaving," growled the dragon. "Crap, we're dead," said Sorin. "No, I just have something to show you is all," said Atticus, sliding his tail up to Sorin and Emma, both of them falling on their butts onto his tail. Atticus launched them into the next room, with the two plopping down the couch. Onyx approached them. "Atticus is a magician, and since you're here, you can't tell anyone about what he's about to do," said the panther man. "Trust me, we won't," said Sorin. Atticus walked into the next room, bringing out a large black pot. "Aw man, he's gonna eat us," said Sorin. "Quiet, boy! I'm not a cannibal," growled Atticus. He took the gem from Onyx.
Emma glanced at the gem. " What's so special about it? Sure dragons love treasure, but that seems...pretty important. Why do you like it SOOO much? Because it's pretty obvious you do." Emma asked, tilting her head and blinking slowly. She fluttered her wings lightly and licked her paw, brushing it over her face and muzzle. She glanced quickly at the dragon's claws and the dragon's fearsome teeth. She did not want to know what they were capable of. Emma's tail twitched in unease, and her eyes were filled with worry as the dragon looked her and Sorin over.
