NIghtly scare, What Village is your gym in?

OKAY!

People can start whenever.

Rowan yawned and streached. Then she promptly fell out of thetree.

THUD

"DOOM! Hound!"

Came a startled bark. Rowan laughed and rolled over. "Mornin' shadow!" She chirped. Her partner merely growled. 

"Breeeeeee...on?"

The curious trill came from a nearby bush, then, bit by bit, the smaller black and blue pokemon strode out of the bush. 

"Um! Breeeon!"

Raven barked, as if reporting for duty. Rowan stood up and looked around. The rest of her pokemon gradually came over and sat down. Silver crashed into a tree with a loud "YEEEEENAAAAA!" ANd then Shade and Hunter scampered over. Shade greeted Rowan by slashing her on the face and procalming "Sne!Sne!" And then Hunter began to scold the sharp claw pokemon with a frantic "Ri! ririri RI!" Rowan laughed at the antics of the two youngest pokeomon in the group. Shade the Sneasel had been dumped on her as an egg, and Hunter the Riolu had been given to her shortly after he hatched. They were both about the same age, but their conflicting personalities made for some chaos.

"Gastrodon, hydropump!"

"Nightmare, use protect!"

Nightmare, Sola's Chandelure, summoned a force-feild just as a torrent of water engulfed him. Sola flexed her hands, this challenger was good. They were both down to their final pokemon, and it apeared Nightmare was at a disatvantage, or atleast, it looked that way to the challenger.

"Now, Nightmare, Sunny Day!"

"Chandeluuuurree!" Harsh sunlight filled the gym, causing Gastrodon to blick as it was blinded by sunlight. The challenger laughed.

"Thats not going to work! Gastrodon, Hydropump once more!"

This time, the move connected. Chandelure was forced back as the water slammed into him. However, he tanked the move due to the harsh sunlight cutting the attack power. "Now, Nightmare, finish this! Solarbeam!"

Chandelure spun on its axis, solarbeam not requiring the charge up due to the sunlight. The blast struck Gastrodon as the power of the blast turned the whole room into a shade of greenish white. Gastrodon fell, the damage it had taken was to much.

"Gastrodon is unable to battle! Sola is the Victor!"

John's eyes slowly opened, kabutops was slashing at a tree outside the tent. John hen got up and looked around "Where's kabutops?" he wondered to himself, he then walked outside, and saw kabutops training. "Good job kabutops! Maybe we can actually find a worthy opponent today, but if we do we're gonna have to get outta here, all the trainers around here are weak." He packed up his tent and walked along the forest, kabutops heard something and looked behind the buhes,, he saw tons of pokemon, and a trainer "Kabutops!" he yelled to his trainer. "Ok i'll come look but I bet it's just another pathetic trainer. He then saw the team and started to think "Hmm, now this seems like a worthy opponent! Wait is that umbreon shiny,cool", he then jumped out of the bushes and crossed his arms "You look like a worthy opponent, care for a battle?" he smirked, not even asking who this person was or anything about him.

"Ok guys, who's ready to act like dark, scary dark types!" Rowan asked her team. Hey, they had a reputation to uphold. She got a chorus of pokemon cries in response and grinned. Then a trainer crashed throught the bushes, asking her to battle...

...

...

Well, that was NOT supoossed to happen. Rowan kept cool though, She turned and glared at the boy. "Humph! If you want to battle me..." Rowan walked closer to  the boy. Shadow stood behind her and growled, making her look menacing. "...Then come do it properly... At the gym!" with that, Rowan dissapeared into the dark woods. She made her way back to Solaceon, and with her team wove through the complicated maze into the back room. If that kid could manage to get through the harsh gym maze, then he could challange her.

John burst with excitement, as did Kabutops, "Hear that buddy? We get to challenge our first gym, we've been training for a gym challenge, he smirked.

He ran to Solaceon, and saw the gym, he went to heal his pokemon, as his aerodactyl was fainted. He then ran into the gym and shouted "Time to-" he was stopped as he looked at the huge maze. "Well here we go, through this maze i guess, he turned to kabutops and they both nodded, making their ways through the maze, just to come to dead ends, but he finally found the exit and walked forward out of the maze.

Escra sat their in the middle of a clearing with his Duskull. He seemed to be trying to train it something as he held up his pokeball after kneeling down to the ground as he then said. "Alright...you have to listen and train a bit more then we are now...soon we will have our first gym battle Dusk, so we have to prepare ourselves before we go their...okay?" He said to the little shiny duskull who seemed to just sit their and stair at him quietly. Escra gave a sigh as he gently stroked its head saying. "Yeah...might be a little tough for you...still though we can do it." He said with a smile as the Duskull still just awkwardly stared at him in silence.

Rowan glanced up. 

"Dooooooommmmmm..." Shadow growled. Rowan petted his head and stood up. The boy from before was there with his kabutops. Rowan frowned. He had gotten through the dark maze in record time... so the bond with his pokemon must have been strong. Very strong.

"Well then... I'll take the liberity of assuming that you want your battle now. I'm never one to refuse you that, but I will tell you this..." Rowan paused dramaticly, stepping forward. Light flooded the pitch black room, then dimmed so that only the feild for battles was dimly innuminated.

"It takes nothing to walk through light, where you can see. Pokemon can see in the dark, and can assist humans when the light is gone... I wonder if you and your pokemon have bonded strongly enough to do so, for I am one with my pokemon... and the darkness."

Rowan paused to let her speech sink in a bit. It was something she had wrote herself and memorized, and she used it before any battle.

"The rules for this battle are simple; three of your pokmon will be used. You may switch at any time, and you will loose if all of your pokemon become unable to battle. So... shall we begin? That's your cue... Silver!" 

"Alright here it goes! Go aerodactyl!" He threw out the pokeball and aerodactyl groaned, ready to battle. John looked at his wrist and smirked, for there was a strange ring, like a watch on it, he then faced back to Rowan. "Who should go first?" he asked, kabutops was standing next to him, for as much a he bonded with the other pokemon, he had bonded with kabutops the most and let him stay out of his pokeball. John looked around the gym, waiting for an answer from Rowan. He was both excited and nervous about finally having his first gym battle.

 

(I hate that mininum word thing)

With out actually awnsering the boy's question, Rowan threw her hand out. The gesture seemed pointless, but to her and her team a simple hand motion meant quite a lot. Silver leapt forward quickly. He then angled himself tords the enemy boy's Pokemon, Then 

BAM!

Used bite on the winged rock type. The fossil pokemon went flying backwards with the force of the bite attack. 

Rowan smirked. Bite was simple, but she was just getting started. The boy would likely be mad at her for the cheap shot, but that was how she fought. 

Silver landed neatly, and stood still to await further command.

(I have to go, can we finish this tomorrow?)

With the battle over, Sola walked up to the challenger and shook his hand. "Don't let this defeat get you down, you did well." She said smiling. "Good work getting through the various traps and quize questions, all while surrounded in darkness. I hope that we get to battle again someday."

The challenger left, leaving Sola to her own devices. She returned to her living quarters, which were connected to the gym, and released her gym pokemon into the area. She quickly healed Torment, Dementia, and Nightmare. "You guys did great. Good job with that double team Torment, you have that Pidgiotto really confused. And Torment, stellar job putting that Nuzleaf to sleep, his dark-type moves may have been our downfall."

The pokemon gave happy crys as Sola pet each one of them, telling them what they did good on and what they'd work on. 

"GRR" John shouted "Aerodactyl use steel wing!"

 

Aerodactyl flew high into the sky and dashed down at the mightyena, and one of it's wings hit it's head, and aerodactyl then turned around and flew straight back to the opponent's pokemon and

BOOM! Hit it right in the back he then flew high up near the ceiling. "How are ya gonna reach my pokemon now?" John shouted, smirking, as he was sure that the mighteeyna couldnt reach his aerodactyl. Aerodactyl glared at Silver, trying to see what Silver would use and if he could avoid it.

(I don't think dodging should be alowwed though since it can be annoying)

Rowan smirked. He really thiught that his pokemon was out of reach? Silver was the weakest of the three she used in gym battles, so if the kid had trouble now then there was no way he would be able to beat her other two pokemon. That said, the kid seemd to be doing well, but the battle was just begining. 

"Hmm." Rowan did not usually need to talk to her pokemon during a battle. She had preset strategies that both she and her team had memorized, plus she could signal attacks with gestures. Heck, she and Shadow could even communicatee without the hand movements. 

The attack she had planned to use was however, one that she seldom used with Silver, so she was going to need to use the verbal cue.

"Shadow ball, now."

 

Just to make things simple, this takes plase in Sinnoh, but you can own pokemon from any generation.

This takes place about 15 years after the anime. Ash is the pokemon master. All the gym leaders and elite four are different.

Old friends, new friends. POkemon are there forever.

Will YOU be the one to become the next pokemon master?

In sinnoh, the old elite four have long retired and been replaced by gym leaders. Now all the gyms are different too.

Some have already started their journey. Some have finished it.

And some... are about to begin.

There can be THREE people just starting. 

EIGHT gym leaders.

UNLIMITED people who have already started.

 

PEOPLE STARTING:

Choose a starter. If it is already yaken, you can't have it. Starters are CHIMCHAR, TURTWIG, and PIPLUP.

You MAY NOT use another random pokemon as a starter.

GYM LEADERS:

You may only use pokemon of the type you do in gym battles, but you can own other types. 

No two gym leaders can be of the same type or in the same city.

You don't have to stay in your gym the whole time of you don't want to.

Please come up with a gym challange maze thing or something that trainers must complete before battling you.

Gym leaders choose the outcome of gym battles, but please be fair.

ALREADY STARTED:

You can have any pokemon EXCEPT Sinnoh starters. Other starters are fine.

You DO have to complete the gym challanges to get badges. Even if you already started your journey.

GENERAL RULES:

You may not own ANY legendary pokemon. If you want to encounter one, that is fine, but you may not battle it or use it in battle.

You can challange gyms and other trainers, but be fair about who wins and who looses. Keep in mind that you have to batttle to be strong. 

Canon characters STAY OUT OF THIS RP unless you get all the way to the elite four. I will controll them for you if you get this far.

No Potions/antidotes/berries are to be used in battle. You can use them after battle or visit a pokemon center.

You can own up to EIGHT pokemon. I know that the usual number is six, but pokemon are just that awesome, so you can have more for this.
