Lorna glanced around, steps as silent as she could make them. Her gorgeous blue eyes flick around for what she was looking for, her elegant wings twitching nervously. Then, her hummingbird heart skipped a beat as she found them. A nectar tree. Even though it was made by humans, it had the best nectar she had ever tasted. Lorna's wings were a quick blur of colour as she flew up to the tree, cupping one of the flowers in her small hands, getting as much precious nectar as she could get from that one flower, licking her full pink lips before searching the tree for another flower holding the sweet food. Lorna's white dress flowed easily in the light warm breeze of spring, as she desperately searched for more nectar. Though when Lorna heard a noticeable noice, she flew into the tree, using the leaves and branches to hide. Some of the wingless people where mean and liked to throw things at her, which sometimes hurt.
Flight was in the forest, pirched on a tree's strong branch. He was looking out the forest with his sparkling brown eyes for a meal to kill. His eyes wandered but then they locked onto a rabbit, bigger than natural rabbits. He hissed "Genetically modified Hares..Its like these flightless ones want this forest to die with us..." as he dived down to destroy the odd yet innocent rabbit. His talons sheathed as he grabbed the rabbit like it was a ripe berry out of a hedge and began to jab his talons and man-made dagger he found a mounth ago. Soon enough, the rabbit was done for. He took it back up a tree incase humans were around.
Lorna, when she was certain the coast was clear, slowly flew out of the tree. She went to every tree and bush, looking for something else to eat. She covered a lot of ground, until she came across a patch of blood soaked soil. Being naturally curious, Lorna flew closer, hovering over the ground due to her quick wings and light body. She landed lightly, glancing around before crouching at the red patch on the ground, timidly poking it, discoverig it was fresh. Lorna instantly stood up, her blue eyes flicking around quickly, her wings twitching. Whatever killed the animal, must still be around. Tr though made Lorna terrified, but she had unanswered questions like: 'What was killed?' as well as 'Who killed it?'.
Flight noticed something on the pool of blood, no it wasn't a flightless. "A hummingbird?" Flight said as he flew down with the rabbit in his talons to investigate. He landed right behind the little girl. "May I help you?" Flight asked as he tore a peice of flesh from the giant hare. It was a little bit elastic-like but it was still a meal, it had to be. The genetically modified prey were the most hunted for the sake of the gmos destroying the enviorment by over eating and populating much faster than the naturals, Plus they were agressive.
Lorna let out a slight squeek, jumping in fright. In the blink of an eye she was hiding in the tree Flight had once been in, breathing quickly but quietly. Her blue eyes stayed on him, scared, yet still curious. Lorna's eyes travelled down to the rabbit in his tallons. That answered one if her questions. Now who was this owl? Well, he looked like an owl. When she was certain he wouldn't attack her, Lorna slowly came down from the tree, shaking slightly. Though it was just nerves. She hadn't been this close to someone in a while. Lorna remained silent, watching him carefully, her wings getting their nervous twitch again, Her gorgeous eyes continued to flick from him to the blood, then back. Her mind telling her she'd meet the same fate as the innocent rabbit. Lorna's hair, tinted with the colour of her wings, gently blew with the breeze, as did her knee length dress, her arms lightly wrapped around herself. It was like she had forgotten how to talk. Sometimes Lorna cursed her shyness.
"You're wondering about the kill, aren't you?" Flight asked. He knew hummingbird hybrids, shy and easily scared with carcasses. "This is a rabbit I had to kill, or else the humans would win over my clan's home from starvation and gmo domination. My name's Flight by the way...What's yours?" Flight was in relief that she wasn't a flightless but was also worried if they were being watched. The rabbit twitched from its nerves, Flight pinned the rabbit incase it was infected with a nerve disease and was actually still alive. "So much for safer animals and healthier game..." Flight mumbled under his breath.
Lorna listened closely, her eyes flicking around out of habit. "L-.. Lorna.." She said quietly, memorising his name. Flight. To her, it sounded pretty, though she would never say so. Her wings twitched lightly, she stepping back when she saw the rabbit move, big blue eyes clearly terrified. She missed the caring hugs she received from the scientists whenever she was scared. Lorna fiddled with her fingertips, edging closer when she built up the courage. She had visible feathers on her arms and legs which had a range of colour from purple, to blue, to green. She also had the occasional turquoise feather in her silky hair, as well as a strange, but beautiful pattern swirling from the corner of her right eye down to her cheek. Its colours were the same as her feathers.
Flight looked at the rabbit, a black and brown hare with a design of a doberman pincher with beady black eyes. He then looked back at the girl, kind of liking the colors of her plumage. "So, are you lost or do you need to hide? Because I could help you since I've been here for a while.." he said, feeling a little bit awkward as he kept feeling the rabbit twitch and such. He quickly jabbed a talon through it's skull so he wouldn't have to worry about what the flightless might have put in the rabbit this time for them to destroy the hybrid's diet.
Lorna's blue eyes watched him, she couldn't help but listen closely to his words, there was something about his voice. It seemed to calm her. "I-.. I don't have a home to lose." Lorna said softly, she jumped at the quick movement of his talon came down on the rabbits skull, her wings fluttering as did her hummingbird heart. Lorna soon looked back up to him, dragging her eyes away from the oversized hare. "Why do you live in a.." Lorna began curiously, trying to find the word he had used. "Clan?" She finished. "And what is it?" She added, walking a little closer, her wings fluttering every now and then. Her curiosity was getting the better of her, but she wanted to know, to set her mind at ease. Also, she found Flight interesting. "Is there other people like you? Or are they different?" Lorna came back with another question, her wings seeming to flutter out of excitement, instead of nerves. Lorna enjoyed to learn about whever she could.
"Well, a clan is like a flock that our bird side of decendents did but its more as one. We hunt to feed each other, we stay near each other in nests and other things. Plus to answer your second question, depends since us owls have many variations of species and designs. In my clan we're mostly tytos and elf owls." Flight explained. "If you want, we still have room for many in our clan. We try our best to stay in numbers for the sake of the flightless trying to cross our silver line...as you can see with this giant mutant hare.."
Lorna listened closely, nodding at his words, looking to the hare when he made a reference to it. "You, and your people will accept me into your clan?" Lorna asked, a smile broke out on her full, pink lips. Her wings fluttering happily which made her hover slightly above the ground. Getting quite excited. The who idea of a clan sounded amazing. "So what do you do in a clan?" She asked. "What happens, exactly?" She added. Lorna wasn't amazingly confident and trustworthy, but maybe if she got to know Flights clan.. She stopped her thoughts, figuring she was getting was to ahead of herself. Her feet soon touched the floor again. Her mind filled with questions, but she didn't want to scare him off. Lorna's smile stayed put. She had already forgotten about the rabbit, and how she had met Flight. Everything was looking up for once.
Flight smiled, "You seem excited. Well, in my clan as long as you are loyal and can help us survive your in. Yes, you might be the only necter drinker in the group until another comes but it is usefull to get the blossoms to help out the natural prey and I'll help you out on any gophers or viper bugs." He said. "We have our meetings at sunset and sunrise most of the time unless a emergency ocurrs. I'll introdunce you to the clan. They'll most likely say yes since we need alot more birds that are berry and necter consumers." He explained.
Lorna smiled. "When can I meet them? Soon?" She asked, she was excited. Finally, the chance to belong somewhere. "Will I get my own nest?" She asks. "What is a nest? It sounds amazing." Lorna smiled, her wings fluttering again. "Are your friends nice?" She added, not realising just how many questions she was asking. Lorna's mind came up with the perfect image of a nice community, living in peace. And she didn't have to be scared of anyone because they were all nice, and kind. Of course, Lorna knew things always wouldn't go how she wanted them to, but hopefully there would be a few exceptions on her fantasy. Lorna knew she would be timid and shy at first, but she would soon learn not everyone was out to hurt her, like she did with Flight.
Flight said "You can come with me to the meeting. Yes you'll have your own nest which is a home that is either a cave or a grass home, But warning, sometimes some birds want to pick up a fight because of food and size. Next to my nest its free for new comers but the nursery is also nearby so.." as he ate some rabbit flesh then put it aside for the rest of the clan. "So, you sure you want to join?" He asked politely yet still alertly incase the flightless were close by. He took a peek at the sun then back to Lorna
Lorna listened as he explained what nests were for, she smiled at the idea of a nursey. She'd ever seen a child which had wings before. Once again, her imagination ran off on its own accord, though she quickly snapped back into reality. Lorna grew a little nervous upon hearing that some people may want to fight. Lorna looked to him, when he asked her if she was sure. "I'm sure." Lorna nodded. "Its better than being alone." She smiled, following his gaze to the sun. As she went to look back, she noticed a young wingless, it was very small, and couldn't seem to talk. Lorna's eyes stayed on the creature. They were very deep in the forest. Lorna turned to the wingless, stepping back as it crawled towards them.

..-..Freedom of Flight..-..
Setting

It takes place in America, where the cities that in our present day our small are almost as big as New York City. Our technology has advanced to where you could have a special pattern of skin tones and colors without tattoos and makeup and change eye color without contacts. There is only 30% of protected forests left and only 10% is natural, the rest is Genetically modified like the mutated guard dogs the size of an average 12 year old and tiny vipers bugs (Which are similar to ticks, but more aggressive and thin).

Current Setting:

Weather: It is the first day of Spring, the season is greeting us with a soft light spring shower with pretty silver clouds.

Plot

~The Beginning

A new group of people have been created. They are hybrids of birds and humans, this started in 2150 when scientist started making a alternative way of transportation in the flying industry by making a donated childs genes be changed into have bird like characteristics such as some feathers in certain areas, sometimes having a beak and most importantly wings then theyll be tested on for any more desirable variations. Unfortunately due to a lack of funding, the scientists stopped the operation in 2160 and freed these flying men into the wild where the hybrids chose to either start clans in forests like the true natives did long ago and start their own civilization or go and try to fit in with the current society. The only problem is that the "Flightless" want to hunt down the "Birdmen" due to great amounts of jealousy and lack of laws that protect these innocent feathered souls. The hybrids do not wish for such a war, but there is no choice when it comes to survival of the species/race. Will you let the birdmen live, the flightless succeed such genocide or try to bring peace between these two sides?

History

The Hybrids have start the spring by collecting food in for the need to survive for summer.

~Species

-Bird/man Hybrids

Eagle: They are the biggest of the species so far with a hieght of 7 ft and a wingspan of 23 ft. They commonly have a beak and brown feathers yet rarely have no beak and gold or even albino colored feathers. They are usually either good leaders of a group or big tough ones that don't mess around. They have a diet of Fish and live game like normal deer.

Owl: This group has the most variation due to the different species of tyto and other owls the lab used to start the operation, they can be up to 6.5 ft and a wingspand of 19 ft. They usually are either antisocial or good at taking care of others and have a diet of rodents and game

Hummingbird: They're the smallest of the species with a hieght of 5.4 feet and a wingspand of 12 feet and they have the most interesting of plumage with shiny greens to midnight blues. They have a diet of honey, necter and sometimes berries. They are commonly shy and timid.

Crow/Raven: They are both pretty similair to aproxamately 6 ft tall and have a wingspand of 15-18 ft. They are kind of usually consider rouges. They are known for having dark plumage and a immune sysytem that helps them eat rotting meat plus other things that other birds usually don't expect.

Vulture: they are the ones who are second biggest, 6.7 ft tall and a wingspand of 22 ft. They have a diet of rotten flesh and dead animals. They have either black, brown, or white feathers and commonly have pink skin.

Hawks: These guys are second best in variety, from black plumage to red. They have a 1/10th chance of a tail due to the red tail hawk. They are similar to the Eagle but with a similar size to an owl. They have a diet of fish and rodents, they usually are a mix of personalities that involve pride and fellowship. They can adapt to an area based off of their species of hawk.

(Pm or post in the occ for more species suggestions)

Human: Read the settings, they are omnivores and they have to have a nationality and a reasonable description of strength and weaknesses
