Taylor walked down the hallways past all of genetically engineered level 3 mutants. She paid none of them any mind as they were a common sight at this time if the day. Pulling out her access card she quickly swiped it down across electronic lock to the cafeteria doors. They slid open with a gush of air and the other guards proceeded to march the specimens single file line into the room. They were served their bland food, and allowed to pick a snack at the end. They had 5 types of menus available, herbivore, carnivore, insectivore, piscivore, and omnivore. Having their genetics warped with animals had given them limited options for food. Taylor watched them with a stoic face, this was a routine day. The mutants sat down at a table of their choosing. A week without fights meant they were given this choice. Taylor liked to play the game of rewards and punishment, and they had behaved for the past week. But she knew that wouldn't last for long, everyone was growing restless and uneasy. Rumors had been spreading of some fake prophet trying to convince the mutants they had a chance of escape. She chuckled lightly, like that was going to happen. The whole building was armed to the teeth and they had security that would make the White House jealous, if it was still standing. The mutants chatted with each other, the sentient ones at least. They had groups, clubs, and cliques just like high schoolers. Seeing everything was fine and dandy she walked back to her office on level 1, taking a elevator to get there.
Miraj the short sweet and innocent girl stood her place in the line. Slowly she made her way to the cafeteria worker. "Hello miss sarah!" She chirped happily at the old woman serving food. "Hello miraj. Today on the herbivore menu we have tomato soup with broccoli. There is still some extra carrots leftover too at the end." Miraj lit up at the news, carrots were her favorite food. Miss Sarah smiled warmly as she handed the girl her styrofoam plate. By the looks of it she was given extra soup, the cafeteria ladies liked her a lot. After getting the food she needed she started to look around the room for available spots. Unfortunately she had been one of the last people in line and most of the tables were already filled. She quickly spotted a table with no one sitting there. She rushed over to it and sat down smack dab in the middle and made herself comfortable. Halfway through eating her meal shadows appeared over her, turning around she saw a group of disgusting looking hybrid monsters, 3 times her height. They all had wild red eyes and were covered in scales and/or fur. The dreaded realization hit her that there was a reason the table was abandoned. It belong to the 4X gang. They all say down around her staring at her like wild predators. She shook in her place unsure of what to do. One reached out fist clenched, she almost fainted on the spot. But then his hand uncurled and something dropped onto her plate. Slowly looking down she saw a single carrot. "Me no like veggies. Me carnivore, not omnivore." The furry muscled one in front of her slobbered on his tray waiting for a reply. His voice was amazingly deep and animalistic as well as gravely. Still shocked that they hadn't tried to eat her yet she mumbled out a small thank you. They all ignored her from that point and dug into their raw meals like rabid dogs. The small amounts of meat that flew everywhere had gotten onto her food and suddenly she wasn't hungry anymore. She got up shaking and slowly walked over to the trashcan to throw away her uneaten food. Lunch still had a good 15 minutes left and she wasn't quite sure what to do, so she just stood by the lunch line waiting for one of the cafeteria ladies to finish cleaning the countertops and maybe come over to talk to her. But it didn't look like that was going to be happening anytime soon...

The reptilian looking specimen sat down on the floor, near one of the corners of the cafeteria. Genesis isn't part of any group, and is not planning to join one. Her long tail stretched out in the way, as if she didn't mind making others trip.

The level 4 specimen scrapped the floor whit her claws, just to pass the time, while her blue snake eyes scanned the cafeteria. Her tail twitched slightly in amusement as she saw 4X gang and Miraj. She carred little about names, but showed mild interest in Miraj's reaction.

Genesis looked away to see if any other things were hapening. Some of the speciments already finishing eating. Genesis? She didn't eat, not this time anyways. She does that every once in a while, she could very much not eat for two weeks and feel fine. She only did that once though. She scratch an itch on the back of her neck with her black claws and then yawned.

Miraj tried looking around the counter for the cafeteria ladies but it was no use. One of the guards saw her struggle and whispered over "lil miss, they have to clean out the freezer today. I don't think they will be able to talk right now." Miraj's smile dropped at the news. "Oh... Ok." She walked off not having any idea what to do now. Looking around the room she saw many of the other specimens talking or eating. Out of the corner of her eye she saw a brown looking lizard thing. She Remembered who it was after a few seconds. The first thoughts that came to mind were "why isn't she eating?","is she lonely?", "is she friendly?", and "why was she sitting alone?". Deciding she needed answers the white haired girl slowly walked over to genesis. "Miss genesis, why are you sitting by yourself? Did they not let you get any food today? Did they run out of food?" The fact that genesis was a level 4 specimen was unnerving, but she figure if anything went wrong the guards were only a few feet away.

Genesis looked up at Miraj, her tail twitched a bit. She wasn't used to being talked to, especially by other specimen. Mosts just avoid her, the low level specimen most of all. Genesis's blue snake eyes narrowed a bit, but one would have to look very closely to actually see the diferance.

"I wasn't hungry" Was all the humanoid lizard managed to say. Her voice was rather dry, like if her throat hurts, however, it is not the case. She scanned the level 2 specimen curiously. The lizard was rather facinated by the near lack of pigmentation in the skin and hair.

Genesis then looked away to scan the cafetaria again.

Wasn't hungry? That was new. Usually everyone ate as much as they could because food was valuable there. Miraj thought her blue eyes were very pretty, the small reptilian pupil was a little strange though ... The lizard humanoid looked away a miraj got the message. Not everyone was very talkative. Looking at the clock she saw it had only a few minutes left. Already people were getting up and dumping their trays. Some were lining up by the door to leave. Miraj got in her place in line and waited for the double door of the cafeteria to open. The second the "swoosh" sound of air had escaped everyone went directly to their cells and levels. Other specimens had different levels to go to and were forced to take the stairs. The elevators were reserved for the staff. Upon reaching her level she saw many faces she had met before. Right across from her was jake, he was part bird. Not very dangerous, but he had a strong genetic code like her. "Hey jake? Do you know when the next status check will be?" status checks were when the scientists would go around with their big fancy clipboards and see who was still alive, who was sick, checking who had changed, and general psychological health. "Doc said today or tommorow. Better not get sick. They'll take you to the lab." He said with a smirk. "Oh hush you! I'm not getting sick. Your bird feathers flying all over the place are just making me sneeze!" She huffed and crossed her arms. Hearing the familiar click of boots from the scientists she guessed today WAS the status check. Hunkering down on the metal bed she waited patiently for the usual questions.

Genesis got up, sort of, she got into her normal walking possition, which is four legs, making her look more like an animal then a sentient being.  As she was forced out of the cafeteria, she hissed randomly at the guards and officers. Normal for the level 4 specimen, she dislikes humans, a lot.

Once back in her cell, she walked around in lazy circles. She looked around, her eyes showing how annoyed she was. Genesis yawned, revealing her many sharp theet and forked tongue. She stretched a bit, then parts of her began disapearing by patches. She liked doing that, just to annoy the humans, turning invisible and then scalling the walls and ceilling of the cell. The liquid created from her body easily covers her clothes, turning them invisible too.

There is no danger of her escaping the cell, not at the moment at least. She glaced outside of her cell, fully knowing that nothing could see her unless they have a mirror or a very reflective surface. She hissed and began climbing the walls, her favorite pass time.

Taylor made her way through the levels. Starting at level 2 then going down further. Glancing at miraj she payed her no mind. Taylor knew the scientists liked her a lot because of her still warpable genetics. Usually most specimens are only able to be manipulated during the first few stages of life. Making her way down past level 3 she saw many other specimens, none she had not seen before. Level 4 was where things got "interesting". This was the level where the sentient and animalistic started to mix. Some tried lashing out at her only to be blocked by the electric field emitting from the cells. Stopping in front of a empty cell she raised her eyebrow. Looking down at her clipboard she saw that this was the cell of genesis. The invisible lizard specimen. Reading the small notes about Mirrors she called one of the guards to come with one. A few seconds later a short and slightly chubby gaurd came running around the corner with a mirror in hand. Taylor simply pointed to the cell. The guard got the message and aimed the mirror. The lizards form began to flicker showing she was indeed in the cell. Taylor marked that she was present and moved on to the next cells.

Genesis hissed sharply as she flickered. She hated mirors, they made her slightly dizzy for unknown reasons. The lizard climbed down the wall, still upsidedown. The specimen curled up in a corner of the cell, then slowly became visible again.

Her cold eyes shot agressive glances at the guards she could see. She cursed silently. She hated this place, she enjoyed the cafeteria better. Well, probably every single speciment does. She imagined impossible ways to escape and rip every human to shreds. She knew none would work, but it felt fun making up ways.

She spat some of the liquid that made her invisible, just to be anoying. The liquid itself does nothing to beings other than her, it does not harm or help others. Unless they slip on it, then it's gets pretty hilarious to Genesis. She used to do it a lot at the cafeteria, but stopped a couple of years back due to warnings.

Her mind drifted to the rumors of escaping someone made. Genesis laughed at it when she first herd it, but now she wonders if it is actually possible. At least 16 years in the facility really gets boring after a while. The level 4 specimen couldn't help but wonder what the outside world looks like.

Miraj answered the questions the scientists had patiently. They alway were asking her extra questions and it got really annoying. They began moving down towards the end of the sector and listening carefully she learned some had died and two people were hurt. Which was not all that uncommon. People were getting into fights all the time. Miraj didn't really understand why, all you really had to do to the staff was be nice. But some had been in the building for so long they started to go crazy, others weren't even sentient like regular people, they were just mutated animals. The staff had been very clear that they were having all of these surgeries done so they could cure some unknown cancer. Like the minsters here wiuld actually be cure, pfff...Miraj didn't know much more then that. But some of the very old specimens told her about the above world. It honestly didn't sound that nice either, but she figured anything would be better then the small cramped cells of the building.

Genesis still daydreamed about escaping, but was interupted by a voice.

"Hey, Gen!"

The humanoid lizard raised her head and look towards the wolf-like humanoid in the cell infront of her's.

"What is it Jayse?" Genesis ask's lazily. Jayse was the only other experiment she actually enjoyed talking too. Probably because he's the only one she can see from her cell. She walked slowly to the front of her cell. Looking at the black-furred Specimen curiously.

He raised his arm, showing deep, half-healed wounds. "Got into a fight earlier." He looked rather proud of himself. But Genesis knew he was rather weak. She cared little if he died, they dont have any kind of relationship. Chatting with the wolf creature was a great way to pass the time.

"Jay, you're going to get yourself killed one day." Joked the lizard. Jayse just shrugged. "I can deal with it, I'd rather die than spend my whole life in this jail."

Genesis tunred herself invisible, effectively ending the conversation, she didn't want to talk today, Jayse could get himself killed, that's his problem. All she wanted to do was sleep peacefully.

Sitting between his tall, muscular and broad-shouldered colleagues Asai took a bite of his apple and listened to the conversations they held. Most of them where just joking around and telling funny stories, trying to lighten the mood. Others, the serious ones, were involved in a complicated discussion about a subject that wasn't really worth listening to. While they were talking, laughing and discussing Asai was lost in thoughts. He was thinking about the future.

Would it really stay like this forever?

If it would, was it still worth living for?

Asai took the last bite of his apple and then started searching for a trash can. He felt like he was wasting his time, just sitting here, doing nothing. he stood up, excused himself and left the group. Then he almost bumped into another soldier.

''Oi, Asai! you are just the guy I was looking for!''

''What is it? Something wrong?'' Asai spoke concerned by the look in the other's eyes.

''Yes, while guarding the border of the city a few of the guys where shot, we need your help there. Doctor Wessel was also hit and he lost consciousness!''

Who's idea was it to only sent one doctor? Asai thought grim.

''Okay, I'm onto it! '' He answered before he dashed off.

Katherine was busy cleaning her favorite pistol when one of the lower ranking soldier came bursting in her tent. The blonde saluted before explaining the situation. "Miss Katherine ma'am, general Johnson has requested that you go with asai as support to rescue one of the medical team. He said that he felt backup may have been neccesary considering the dangerous gangs there, he didn't want Asai going in alone." Katherine put her pistol back together and loaded a magazine with bullets. "Tell him I got his message and I'm on my way now." The blonde nodded and ran out of the tent to deliver her message. She had never really met this asai, she had heard of him, but never really sat down and talked to him. She hoped he wasn't some whiny clingy crybaby. A lot of the medics were like that. She started Driving off in the direction he was last reported heading in her small jeep. I didn't take long to catch up with him. The sight she saw was pretty surprising, he was pretty thin and short, barely much taller then her. She motioned with her hands to the badge on her jacket, the same as his. "Katherine hiyazaki. I was sent in as back up, hop on and we will get to our checkpoint faster."

Asai was surprised, the soldier -who's name he always forgot- hadn't told him anything about back up. Okay, maybe that was because Asai had already dashed off before the soldier even had the chance speak again. Asai mentally slapped himself, he really needed to learn to wait for people to finish talking.... and to learn not to forgot his pistols which he just noticed he had forgotten. he just hoped that they weren't needed and that the soldier in the jeep wouldn't notice that he was unarmed. Being a soldier, walking around unarmed was considered a major fault, even if if you were medic. The little medical kit that he had snatched with him wasn't really useful as weapon, though.

''Oh....okay'' He said as he climbed into the small jeep. Miss Hiyazaki looked like a strong soldier in Asai's opinion, he thought she was some kind of highranking soldier.

A quick scan of the man revealed he was unarmed. "You have got to be kidding me." She frowned reach for one of her own pistols, she always kept her twins with her. Handing one to him she gave him a stern look . "Lose that weapon and I will SKIN YOU." It was one of her favorite weapons. She thought this guy would have more sense then to forget his weapons, especially when your about to march into gang territory. "What's the mission objective and location? I wasn't given any details other then to support you and that you were nearing the gangs border."

Genetic Manipulation
Setting

North city: north city is possibly the worst place on North America. The population is small but those who live there are adept at stealing and killing. The chance of getting the cancer from the polluted air is almost 100% even with a gas mask. Gangs control the entire area and are more dangerous then any health risk. The entire city is full of broken and worn down abandoned buildings often filled with the last survivors.

South city: south city is considerably nicer then north city. It is controlled by the local police. Medicine is routinely shipped in by helicopter. The gangs from north city constantly try to raid this border stops for any medical supplies as well as ammunition. The people in south city try to help people in need and are generally nice. The government has set up the city as a rest stop for soldiers. The north and south city residents are constantly clashing for ownership of their supplies.

Capitol city : Capitol city is the best place you could possibly be in this barren waste land. Though the city is closed off to anyone who is not a important wealthy figure. The president and many important politicians live there. The city is domed off and the air is filtered. The risk of getting the cancer is very low, but still possible there. There are armed hairdos in every corner of the city and no ordinary person is allowed in.

Gene Corporation building (GCB) : the GCB is where all of the test subjects are held. The building is made of five levels, all of them underground. The building is located under North city very close to the border of South city. Each level holds its own experiments and officials. The deeper down, the more dangerous.

Level 1: level one holds no experiments, but rather its a giant office/checkpoint/inventory. All supplied are held in the inventory room and the guards and higher ranking officials live and sleep here. The head of security and the companies secretary are often found here, as well as the scientists.

Level 2: the very low level threat specimens are help here. The ones on this level are often under qualified for warfare but have a excellent generic code. The level is divided into 50 sectors with holding cells and one laboratory.

Level 3: these specimens are a hover level threat then the level 2 specimens, and are capable of fighting if need to. They are often not the best fighters, and don't have the best genetics, but are rather a average. This level also contains 50 sectors with holding cells and a lab.

Level 4: the experiments on this level are considered high threats. They are monitored closely and have restricted access to other floors and their current level. There are only 30 sectors and the holding cells are better equipped to hold the more dangerous residents. Not only does it have 2 labs but it is also the floor with the cafeteria. Every day during the morning and afternoon the specimens from all levels but level 5 are marched into the cafeteria to eat. Breakfeast and lunch lasts a half hour and is the only real mingling time.

Level 5 : the top and most dangerous threats are held here. The specimens on this level are often called monsters, and some of them are. Only half of them are sentient. They are caged and restricted with high level security. They have never seen anything outside of their level. They are fed by having tasteless shoved to them 2 a day. They taste so bad because the food is all chemicals and steroids. The laboratory they have is the main lab with all of the best supplies. All tests preformed are directed by the head scientist. Though the tests are more often know as torture... All patients are battle ready, though sometimes mutations occur from the extreme genetic warping.

Plot

The year is 2067. The humans have polluted the earth and the air is toxic. People are constantly during from a unknown cancer that has already wiped out half of the human population. The streets are violent and crimes are not uncommon. Deep within a under ground government facility specimens are being bred and biologically engineered. The president of the United States is concerned with her daughters health. After contracting the unknown cancer he demanded a research program be led to search for a cure. Scientists have been working hard to create a hybrid humanoid with the correct DNA to counteract the cancer. The government refused to fund it unless the hybrids proved of more use then just a cure. The head of defense also took part in the commission and request they also be battle ready. The agency creating the hybrids was titled Gene Co.

Gene Co is currently working on creating a elite group of hybrids also capable of providing the correct genetics for the unknown cancer. Unfortunately splitting genes is very complicated and unwanted creatures are sometimes created. when the process is finished not all of the experiments are sentient.

History
You have been in this place your whole life, or at least whatever you remember. Tests are conducted regularly and you don't get to socialize often. The president and his cohorts have been pushing harder and harder for the perfect genetic code. More and more monsters have been created and shipped down to level 5. People are getting tense and the violence in the building has been rising. A small rumor has been started on level 4 about breaking out. Everyone knows that's near impossible, but one of the longest living specimens has been making his plan for years. Many are starting to believe he may actually be able to help then escape. Even though they have no idea what's beyond the walls of the building. It's up to you smirk decide if you want to be in ok the game. Just avoid the security if you do.
Rules

These rules are important in regards to creating your character. I'm going to be especially picky with this.

Rule 1: there can only be 5 level 5 characters made. I don't want tons of these guys running around. And if you do create a level 5 character it will have to interact differently then the others. Because remember, they are very closely guarded.

Rule 2: don't overpower you character! Your character is limited to 3 abilities. A main ability, a secondary ability, and a special ability. The main and secondary abilities can be like super powers, the same goes with special abilities but they are often more powerful or unique.

Rule 3: try to keep their abilities well rounded. Try to keep then focused around something. Don't go giving them powers that have nothing to do with each other.

Rule 4: they don't have to be good at offense. Level 2 specimens are just fine. They may not be good at attacking, and that's ok, better genetics is going to be very important. They can also have abilities to heal or something unique that doesn't revolve around violence . The opposite is ok to, but for higher levels.

Rule 5: if your going to create a higher ranking official please talk to me. Regular guards are fine, but anything higher then that are key in the plot.

Rule 6: make sure to include weaknesses with your characters. If they have a certain ability to fly or shoot flames or something like that make sure you limit it somehow. Like only being able to use it for a certain point of time.

Rule 7: the specimens are genetically fused and altered with animals and other things. They can have a different appearance, they don't even have to look anything like humans. But please try to keep them somewhat humanoid. You could have a animal based character if you want, but I don't want 20 cats, dogs, and dragons all running around XD

Rule 8: the basic EX roleplaying rules. Respect others. Keep any cursing to the bare minimum. No nudity or overly explicit content.

Rule 9: Have fun :D I'm more then willing to talk to you in the ooc chat about the plot, or you can PM about any questions you have.
