Harano walked on his own, watching people shout at each other and watching the occasional street fight. He didn't know where he was going, why he was walking, or even where his next meal would come from. He felt lonely without his little sister Kiera, and his parents even. He wanted a friend- someone that didn't avoid him like he was a rat. He gave up on walking about Republic City. He sat down in an alleyway and played with his necklace. His parents gave it to him, so it's his only thing that he keeps with him. He began to think to himself what it would be like to be living with his parents and Kiera again, dozing off.
"Get your fat mits off of me you stupid neanderthal!" Abayu shouted from the alleyway as a large man tried to pick her up. She swung her arm in an upward motion and caused a chunk of rock from the ground to shoot up from the ground, hitting the man in the head. He dropped her as he fell over sprawled out on the ground. Abayu ran as fast as she could out of the alleyway. The man got up and started to chase her. She swung her hands behind her, causing the sand and dirt on the road to fly into the man's face. She smirked as she ran into another alleyway and found a boy about her age dozing off next to a wall.
Herano twitched. He felt someone watching him. He opened his eyes and stared at Abayu in silence. Moments passed before he finally asked, "Who are you? And what are you doing in my alleyway?" Terrible. He needed more time to think if he actually wanted to intimidate her.  No one can own an alleyway, he thought to himself, how stupid can I possibly get? He just glared at her, hoping that she wouldn't pick a fight. He was too tired and hungry to fight. He only sat there, glaring at her, waiting for her response. What else could he do? Run for his life?
“EEEEK. EEEK EEK EEK!” “ Sairent, Shush. You’ll scare all the outside people!” He simply shrieked louder, and Kasai put her tattered pillow over her head. Some days.. That creature was just impossible to live with. It was silent for a moment, then Kasai heard a loud thump signifying Sairent’s attempt to leave the room. “Alriiiight. I’m coming. Ugh…” She rolled off the bed and stumbled over to the window, where her fierce-looking owlcat perched on the window ledge and stared unblinking at something on the street below. “What’s the matter… More murderous thugs out there?” She yawned and yanked open the opaque window, letting sunlight stream into the shadowy room where she slept. Kasai skimmed the surrounding area and saw nothing of concern, just a couple of kids near the alley and a sausage vender on the farthest corner of the street. “Sairent.. there’s nothing there. Stop getting so freaked out over nothing!” He simply made a noise resembling a choking cat and continued to stare. Kasai just left him went to light some lamps with her fire. It wasn’t time to get up, but she decided to anyway. A yelling, scuffling noise erupted from the alley, and she turned back towards the window with curiosity. Sairent appeared to be excited about something, flicking his tail back and forth and meowing sporadically.
Abayu raised her eyebrow at him. "Your alleyway, eh?" She shrugged. "I was just wondering if you could help me," She said, holding up a gold coin that she had stolen from the man that was chasing her earlier. "But, I guess you dont want to. I'll let you get back to your starving now." She shrugged again and advanced toward the end of the alleyway. She stopped when she heard the sound of some sort of animal screeching. She looked up and saw a large Cat Owl sitting on a window ledge. "I didn't know they let you keep those as pets." She muttered to herself and continued down the cold, shaded alleyway that smelled of rotting food and dead rats.
Harano stared after her. Money? He could use that. He could buy himself a full, good meal, nothing like those tiny scraps he finds near homes. He stood up and ran after her, "Excuse me miss, you said you needed help.. with what? I'll be pleased to help you." He heard a terrible, ugly-sounding screech and saw a Owlcat staring at him. He shuddered, he never saw one of them but he heard about them. They look disturbing in his opinion. He looked back at Abayu, his eyes shining eagerly. No more starving if he could get some money.. maybe even buy some nice clothes..
Kasai stared at the strangers for a minute, then grew bored and went back to lighting her lamps, watching Sairent carefully out of the corner of her eye. His interest in whatever was below had not diminished; In fact, he seemed even more obsessed with it now. Then Kasai froze in terror as she saw what he was after. He had that wild spark in his eye, the one that couldn't be erased no matter now 'tame' he appeared to be. Kasai backed away slowly- there was no stopping him when he got like this. "No.. Sairent NO that's not yo-" Too late. He whistled crazily and leaped off the windowsill, speeding towards the kids standing around the alley. Kasai suddenly realized what he was after- A shining glint of light from the girl's hand was all she needed to know. Sairent loved shiny things. A lot. And there was little one could do to stop him when he wanted a shiny. Kasai knew this, but tried one last attempt to divert him anyway. "Here- Here Sairent look at this!" A bright plume of  white light burst from her palm, sparkling and dancing in the breeze. The crazed owlcat didnt' even look. He increased speed and soared directly above the girl with the shiny, and grabbed in from her hand with his talons. He let out a victorious meow-howl, and Kasai groaned and put her head in her hands. Hopefully whatever he stole from them wasn't too important, because it was going to be hard to get back.
Akio was on one of his round-abouts, being threatened not to get into trouble as if he did, he'd probably not be able to go out alone any more. Last few times he came back home only after being retrieved from the police station for reasons that seemed justified to him. He was only trying to prove that not all fire benders were bad, and instead got into fights with others. He huffed to himself at the thought of those outings, and was sure that he wouldn't get into trouble this time. That is, until he heard some sort of noise from what he was guessing was an Owlcat; he's heard them on the radio before, but he couldn't remember much about them.  He walked quickly, trying to see if he could find this creature. Instead of finding the animal, he found some other people in an alleyway. Highly curious about what they were doing here, he walked cautiously over to them. "What exactly are you guys doing here? Do you one of you own that Owlcat I just heard?" he asked, wondering, though he was ready to change to a more agressive stance at any moment.
I swirl the air above a piece of fruit, the air slowly lifting it up. The vender's back is turned, so he has no idea. The customers do, but they never do anything because this particular vender is one of the more rude ones. I concentrate on using the air to lift it towards me. I finally snatch it out of the air and dash off. "Hey! Get back here girl!" I hear him yell. He follows in hot pursuit, but I'm too nimble for him to catch up to me. I back into a corner, acting trapped. He laughs and then cracks his knuckles. "You're going to pay for stealing from me, thief," He growls. I$@#!*my head, and then push a mass of air into him, knocking the man onto his rump. I dance nimbly around him and run off.

Just before Abayu could answer, there was a loud crash nearby. She jumped at the sound. "What was that?!" She said, almost shouting. She brushed some fallen dirt off of herself and ran over to see what had happened, hoping the others would follow her.

When she reached the area where the sound had come from, her jaw dropped. A huge police blimp had fallen and crashed into a large building, igniting it into a bright, huge blaze. She shaded her eyes from the fire's bright fury. She could just barely make out a huge hole in one side of the blimp just before the fire had devoured it. Had it been shot down?

She looked around the site. People and police started to gather around as well as the fire station. She heard yells from people still trapped in the building. She shivered at the sounds. She needed to help them, she decided. She ran over to the wreckage and earthbended a column of rock to lift a fragment of the burning wreckage.

She looked around in it and saw two figures sprawled out on the ground under the burning pieces of airship. She ran into it and slung them both over her shoulders carefully. She ran back out and layed them both on the ground. One was a child that seemed to come from either the Southern or Northern water tribe, and a small, cat-like creature with bat-like wings and a long, fluffy tail.

Xiphos slowly stepped from the blimp, into the shadows, shrouded entirely, and stopped to listen.  He clenched, and the asphalt and cement of the road and ground chipped and splintered.  Through slight motions of his fingers, he caused this trail of sand to follow him, as he approached the sniper who had shot down the baloon.  Suddenly, he wisked it through the air to stop a sharp stone, dropping the sand once again.  The grains of sand skittered across the ground as he walked on.  He didn't quite know who the sniper was, but he had a couple of ideas.  Perhaps it was the sole remaining member of the Dai Li, whom he had put through quite an ordeal to learn the entirety of events surrounding the ruins discovered beneath Lake Laogai.  Or maybe it was a representative of the Earth King, from whom he had stolen the holy scripture, which detailed the duties and divine nature of them chosen to lead nations.  Either way, it didn't matter.  He stopped, in the middle of the road.  Suddenly, he jerked his hand in the air, each finger performing a complex dance, representing the grains of sand.  They ended litteraly ingrained in the victims chest, leaving a corpse atop a rooftop, with his insignia engraved within his skin.  Xiphos turned and fled, towards the original destination of the blimp he had stowed away upon, leaving a blinding flurry of sand in his wake.
Yuna's eyes shot open when the fire truck raced by her alley. Getting up as quickly as she could, she grabbed her beaten bag and slung it across her chest before stretching for a second and running after the truck. Wherever a fire truck went, so did she, because she never knew if they needed a little extra help. When they arrived at the scene of the burning blimp and building, Yuna set her bag behind a trash can and ran over to the fire truck. Unscrewing one hose (they had plenty) she began bending the water and pitting out the fire on the blimp while keeping it away from the girl who was helping two small children. Yuna hadn't realized how bad the blaze was, and her water was evaporating fast.
Miyu was heading back home from work, it had been a long day and she was exhausted. While she was walking she heard an explosion, the area wasn't too far from her house, Miyu ran. She reached the area to see a large building being swallowed by flames, she saw the airship dibris and wondered how this could have happened. She ran to her house and stopped when she saw some of the debris from the airship had crashed into her house. Her house was damaged and was on fire. Miyu ran into her burning down house, her iguana parrot landed on her shoulder, while looking through the debris she found her mother. She dragged her mother's body outside and cried, her mother had been crushed to death by some of the debris. "No... no!!!"
The stench of smoke fills my lungs, and I cough horribly. A fire? An explosion? Whatever it was, I have to help. I dash nimbly towards the direction of the smoke, my heart thudding with anxiety. I skid to a stop at the sight of a police blimp. It must have crashed. The fire rages, and the water barely stops it. I look around at all the people standing by, their faces horrified. I take a deep breath and close my eyes. I draw the air away from the fire, suffocating it. It dampers it down some, enough for the water to finish it off. I take another breath and turn, knowing the rest can be taken care of by the fire fighters. I run away into the alley ways, my hair whipping around me. I enter a broken down building, in which I live. Nobody goes around here, or at least nobody in their right mind.
Sairent screeched again, this time full of uncertainty and fear. Kasai realized that the strange girl hadn't even noticed that her gold coin had been stoeln so it must not be too important... She grabbed the nearest solid object as the whole building shook with the force of the crash, as it was rather poorly constructed. When the shaking subsided, Kasai realized there must have been some sort of accident, as now firetrucks and rescue folks were flooding the street. "Ugh.. No night walk tonight. Sorry Sairent... We better go see what the heck's happened. She grabbed her coat from its crumpled position on the floor, and headed out the front door of the the old apartment, ignoring the bleary-eyed stares from the few people who lived there, an old earthbender who 'owned' the place and three waterbenders from some island somewhere. "Sairent! Come!" Kasai whistled for her owlcat, who promptly landed on her arm and meowed loudly. It didn't take long to get the scene of the accident, and she could easily see what mess the blimp crash had caused. She sighed; there was probably nothing she could do right now, being a firebender and all.. the last thing they needed was more fire. Kasai simply stood on the outskirts of the scene awkardly, watching as caution tape was put up and people were dragged from the wreck.

Avatar: Legends of Others.
Setting
Most of the role-play takes place in Republic City, home to benders of all kinds, from metal to lightning and even blood. Non-benders are welcome here too- At least that's what they want to think...

Other areas relatively close to the city:

~Mount Hicci- an eight-hundred meter mountain with many dangerous chasms and smaller peaks.

~Tong-Lang- Desert- A haunting and lifeless place, only for tough desert creatures or perhaps an earth bender looking for a challenge. It gives way after a while to the Chasms of Higunori: a place even more dead and mysterious than the desert.

~Spirit Lake- Lovely during the summer and great for long excursions, most of the time.. Just don't come on the wrong day or you might not return.

~Attacki Forest- a vast and colorful forest filled with various native flora and fauna- and some other things as well.

Plot

Republic city. A vast and beautiful reminder of how Avatar Aang and his friends saved the world. But, right after Aang’s death, the peace of this fine world is already being disrupted. With the new avatar unheard of, and the old Avatar passed, who will protect the city- and the world now? Chaos is beginning its reign of terror in this wonderful place- the question is, will you choose to try to fight against it, or join those bent on destruction and mayhem?

Aside from all the destruction and tradgety, there are still good reasons to remain here- One being pro-bending, a sport of skill and stamina.

History
It has been three years since the death of Avatar Aang, and already the world is spinning out of control. Without any knowledge of the new avatar, there is no one to protect republic city, and so the revolution begins.
Rules

Basic Ex. Rules apply: No cussing, extreme unnecessary or gory details, God-modding power-playing bla bla bla.

There are a few special rules, however.

1. Please stay true to your bender's abilities if your character is one- For example if you stated that they are a waterbender in the info box, don't make them go push over a mountain or something..

2. No being the Avatar- for obvious reasons.

3. Feel free to make Pro-bending teams if you would like :'D

4. Romance is allowed just like in the original series/Korra but please keep it at that or at most pg-13... though nothing graphic or your character will be deleted then killed in a terrible manner... 8P

5. HAVE. FUN. 8D

...Please follow the rules or we will go into the future and summon Amon and have him take your bending :D that will be all!
