Let's set the scene.

It's a gloomy day, heavy rain and two colliding weather fronts allows the premisis of thunder and lightning sometimes during the day.

On a lighter note, three phonecalls from the Daycare Center has been made. To Team Aqua, Team Magma and Team Rocket. Eggs has hatched, with new pokemons for each teams.

Recruiting time.

{At the HQ}

Lucas sat in his usual chair in the corner of the basement that Team Rocket so loosely called a Head Quarters. Of course, it's not like they could be expected to do better with the facts that there wasn't much other option of land to go to and that team Aqua was running things. Nonetheless, the place wasn't half bad. It was structurally sound, big enough to fit all their members in for staff meetings, not that he really liked going to such things, and was a shelter from the whether.

The last fact happened to come in rather handy on days like today. When the whether was rotten and it made most people just want to stay indoors and sleep the day away. That wasn't an option for young Lucas though, for he apparently was 'needed' at the base. Yeah, right. The only reason he was there was because they didn't want to seem like they were being lazy or heaven forbid, taking it easy for once. Always had to be moving in some way or another, or at least that is what it seemed like to him.

His fingers were laced behind his head as his mind drifted off behind closed eyes in his reclined position in his favorite chair. Just as he was getting into the good part of his daydream where he finally took down the leader of Team Aqua, Archie, single handedly, footsteps banged through his head and disrupted this fantasy. 'Ugh, who the hell is coming down here at this time of day?' Heaving a sigh, Lucas sat forward in his chair and turned to the small desk that was designated as his. While he was an operative and mostly did field work, the higher ups found need to give him grunt paper work as well. He hated the fact that he had to do such menial tasks, but since it kept him out of the rain today he didn't mind too much.

Picking up his pencil, he threw up the facade of him writing as the owner of the footsteps walked into the basement. "He, Lucas. Got a mission for ya'."

Turning to face his caller, he noticed that he was carrying a small folder, which usually said that he had field work to do. 'Great, now they're sending me into the rain,' he thought to himself.

"Nothin' big today man, just need you ta' go pick up some eggs from the DayCare Center so that we can start incubatin' them to get us some new pokemon for the recruits."

"Oh yes, that sounds like so much fun," Lucas commented as he rose out of his chair and pulled his coat on with a grunt. Walking over, he swiped the folder non too softly from the man and headed past him up the stairs without so much as a thank you. Not really wanting to stick around and talk to the man anyway, he headed out through the basement door into the building above.

{Leaving the HQ headed towards the DayCare}

Stepping out into the pouring rain, Lucas's hopes for the day dropped even further. 'Geez, what a gloomy day this is.' Popping his collar up to help guard from the rain, he began his walk across Fallarbor to the DayCare to see what was just so important about these eggs to take him from his place of comfort.

{At the Daycare Center}

Fff. Someone should have ordered nicer weather. Ricky was having a rather poopty mood as she popped her collar and picked up the bucket of pellets and other mixes of Pokemon food suited for the larger ones that lived in the outside pens at the Daycare Center. Shuddering in the wind, she hurried as she fast as she could, moving to the feeding tray. Hand moving up to her mouth and she whistled sharply for the half wild Pokemon, alerting them of the feeding.

It was her favorite part of her job, watching the large family of Nidos of all sizes and evolutions, coming out from their shelter to feed. She smiled for herself, briefly as she tilted her head just watching them as they ate for a moment before she turned around and headed back towards the backroom of the Center.

"Hey Rick?" She scowled for herself as she heard the voice calling for her as she came inside. She looked to the door to the office and gave a stiff smile to her boss, the old man who ran the Center knew how much she hated being called that. "Our Friends are picking up the eggs soon. You better get them ready. And sort them right this time." He grunted out his brows pointed up. She knew that he knew, when he had made the call to the downtown office of Team Aqua, she had made a few calls herself.

"Sure thing Mr. T. I'll go and double check the labes now" Rickie said with a nod, watching him return to his office before she placed the bucket by the food station. Hanging off her jacket, she stared out the window, hoping dearly she didn't have to walk out again just yet. She shook her head, and headed out to the incubating room.

Such a treat it was this time,  she wasn't sure what her egg was, but she knew it was something big. Mr. T knew what she liked, and he had said spesifically with his hints which egg was hers. Stroking it slowly, she hummed low as she turned it and the other three eggs ment for her group of friends. Though her loyality often was devided between Magma and Rocket, she had made sure to favour the Rockets with the best new eggs.

Next five was for Magma, she checked their temperatures and turned on them, then the ten going to Aqua. She scowled, it was such a risk that eight eggs was off record, just to hope someone from either Magma or Rocket would reach her first.

{Returning to Aqua HQ}

Murmurs of gossip fluttered through the crowded foyer of the Team Aqua Headquarters as the front doors slid wide open, beckoning for the returning members in out of the pouring rain. The leading Agents lead the way, followed by the small handful of Grunts that were needed for the task they had just finished accomplishing. All were strutting, proud as Pidgeots, pleased to have done away with yet another small troop of Magma members. Enemy Grunts and Agents had been exterminated, Pokemon had been captured, everything was as it should be. They had reason to be proud, it would seem.

Or not. For as the strutting group made their way through, it was behind them that the crowd parted like the Red Sea. The Moses that managed such a feat was hardly the egotistical jabber-jaw that the other Grunts filtering in appeared to be. On the contrary, the massive, hunched figure made his way through the foyer with nary a word. Sticky blood drops occasionally trickled down his fingertips and leapt to the granite floor beneath him, telling of the dirty deeds he was guilty off. A dark blue hood masked his face, but every once in awhile a too curious Grunt would catch sight of the penetrating brown glare hidden within, bringing a shudder to spines and the hasty aversion of eyes.

The victor of the mission was quite clear, but he would gain no glory from such. What glory was there for the puppet, when the puppeteer was clearly the mastermind behind it? All the same, the whispers of his presence were already spreading like wildfire and would no doubt be cast to the far corners of the Headquarters, like always. Dietrich was an infamous name amongst the Aquas of Fallarbor City, after all. Bets were placed each time he went out, the losers typically the naive newbie Grunts who were too foolish to know not to bet against this one man.

Whilst the rest of the mission group headed off to give their reports to their lead Commanders and celebrate at a bar or something of the sort, Dietrich took a different path. There was no celebration for him, no simple debriefing or report to give that they were successful in their quest. No, he would have to do more than that, not because of his merit, but the mandate to keep him in line at all costs. He was from treacherous stock, after all; a traitor once would be a traitor twice, given half the chance.

So, surrounded by an aura of disconcerting bitterness and hollow anger, he turned down a different path. Through the parted sea of people he trudged, right through to the twin elevators at the opposite end of the room. As if on cue, the arrow above the door lit up with a profoundly pleasant ding noise. Not a single other soul dared to share the space with him as he stepped through the threshold of the tiny, moving room. The bloody thumbprint he left on the backlit floor button gave good evidence as to why he remained in isolation; not that he minded the avoidance of such antagonists. It made the ride up into the heights of his despair much quieter, after all.

{Headed towards the DayCare Center}

Lucas walked amongst the average citizens of Fallarbor, just like any other day. Even if he had a mission he was in civilian clothes, mainly because team Aqua didn't play nice with the other teams and would sometimes use open violence against the as well. Well that, and the fact that technically all of the teams happened to be criminals in one way or another. Aqua just happened to be the ones in charge at the time. The same thing would have happened if a different team had prevailed. That team would be able to get away with just about anything, while the others would fade into the background until the time came to act. Lucas hoped with all his heart that his time to act was coming soon. He dearly wanted to reverse what had happened and take Aqua out from their place of power. 'You better watch your backs Aqua, because when I find a way to take you down, I won't hesitate in using it.' He had heard rumors around the base about the fact that some of the higher ups knew the location of the twin to the orb that had angered Kyogre. To his knowledge, that meant that it was the one that controlled Groudon.

With that, he knew that it was possible to bring this great flood to an end. Surly Groudon was still out there somewhere, slumbering in the earth waiting for his day to awaken and take on Kyogre. Some would ask, why don't you just do it then? Well, there were plenty of problems with trying to just go out and do it right now. They had no clue where Groudon was for one, and showing any effort of trying to find him would definitely draw attention. So Lucas bided his time, and gathered more intelligence as he could. While he wasn't in charge of the Rocket sector at the moment, he planned to be the one to rouse Groudon anyway. Even if he had to steal it and do it himself. In such a case he would most likely take his contacts in the Rockets and leave and get the rest of his help from Magma. Sure they were different teams, but they could also be allies for long enough to reverse what Aqua had done. And after that, well let's just say that betrayal is not beneath Lucas.

Pulling a pokeball off of his belt, he opened it up and released the creature inside. The silhouette of light faded to show Dorian, the kabutops, standing in its place. Looking around a bit, Dorain tried to find out why he had been released. Most of the time he was let out to finish off an opponent quickly, or one that had particularly tough for his other pokemon. Seeing as the fossil pokemon was over 50 years old and already trained quite well by Lucas's father, his skill was unmatched by the other pokemon that he had come across so far. But when he found out that he was just in the middle of town, he tilted his head towards Lucas in a question as to why he had been released.

Lucas answered this question shortly. "Don't give me that look, you don't have to beat the crap out of something every time I let you out of your pokeball. This time I just happened to want someone to walk with and you were my best choice." The kabutops gave his trainer an odd look, but simply shrugged it off and trudged next to him as they made their way to the DayCare. Since he was part water, he didn't mind the rain at all and actually found it quite relaxing; unlike his trainer who was desperately trying to stay dry.

{Entering the DayCare Center}

The door to the center flew open as a drenched Lucas walked through the door. He stopped long enough to wipe part of the mud off his shoes on the doormat, but that was about it. Dripping water across the floor, he made his way to the front desk with Dorian in tow. Finding himself face to face with the old man that ran the place, he put on a fake smile that had charmed many a citizen into thinking he was quite the nice guy. "Hello there, I am here to speak with Ms. Ozon. Could you please inform her that I have arrived?"

{At the HQ}

Daniel sat in a chair, leaning forward somewhat so he could lightly drum his fingers on Tan's head. Tan didn't really notice, he was much too busy watching the rain hit the window, sliding down in crooked lines, then dripping off the window to be seeped into the scarce ground. Daniel was recently told that he had to go to the daycare to pick up some eggs, and he planned on doing that. As soon as Tan decided that the rain was boring and he's seen it his whole life. Daniel probably cares about Tan much more than he needs to, but it truly didn't bother him. Cos, on the other hand, only connected with Daniel due to the fact that they're both loners, and preferred it to stay that way. The young male Nidoran never did get along with the much older Houndour, anyways. Daniel eventually got tired of Tan's random burst of long attention and drummed his fingers a little harder on Tan's head, which almost made Tan snap at his owner's fingers. Daniel stood up, returning Tan to his Pokeball and grabbed a jacket to go over his gray shirt. He walked out of the cabin, slightly pushing a few of the other members out of his way, even though there weren't that many, and headed towards the daycare. Daniel did catch murmurings about another group of Magmas being executed as he pushed his way past, which slightly worried him.

{Heading towards the Daycare}

Daniel hurried his pace when he realized just how badly it was raining. When he was sitting in the HQ he wasn't paying as much attention as Tan was, plus being out alone in the rain, no matter how much he loved the alone part, the news about the Aquas worried him slightly, not enough to show, but enough for his mind to be thinking about it. However, it didn't seem too many people were out in this storm on the path Daniel took, which meant the chances of the Aquas being out were down too, right? Daniel pushed back his worries, as the Daycare was in sight. It surprisingly looked comforting, which very little things do as of late.

{At the Daycare}

Daniel pushed open the door quietly, as he saw a tall man with a trench coat already at the counter with a Kabutops. Wiping his boots thoroughly on the door mat, Daniel hung back from the man and the desk, but looked towards the old man who Daniel presumed to be the owner of the day care. Dan hasn't visited the Daycare often, only enough to know where it is, so he didn't exactly know who he needed to talk to to get the eggs for his team. Tan, however, decided he had enough of his pokeball, and released himself, barking at Daniel to scold him for locking him up in the pokeball for so long. Daniel sighed, picked up Tan, which made him stop barking, and waited his turn in line while attempting to not eavesdrop on the man in front of him too much.

Up and up and up he went, passing floors of living quarters, workout rooms, lower level authorities, etc. As the floor levels flew past him most Grunts would be growing increasingly anxious, the double digits speaking of very important places. Very important places in the Headquarters also added up to very restricted places, mind you. Unlike 'most Grunts', however, this was the usual routine for Dietrich: return from a mission, meet with his direct superiors. Such a routine seemed simple enough to the average person, even the same as every other Grunt went through after missions. In fact, it pretty much was the exact same, were it not for one thing.

Dietrich's direct superiors just happened to be the leadership commanding the Headquarters. The superiors that he answered to took orders from no one short of Archie Jr. Status of his sort was envied by some, but those who truly knew the circumstances of his position, namely those who listened to the right gossip from the right people, would never dare trade places with him.

Few would survive a handful of his missions, not to mention the constant scrutiny of his vulture-like moderators. Then, of course, there was also the fact that Aquas thrived on the potential to claw their ways to the top; their dreams of promotion, fame and glory drove them to succeed. No such luck for this massively overqualified Grunt. He was forever in limbo, supposedly at the bottom of the foodchain, but altogether exempt from the military-like pecking order. He was without proper classification.

When the elevator slowed to a stop at last the doors refused to open. Before they would, the card slot beside the door would have to be fed a healthy dose of an ID card, just to be sure they weren't dealing with anyone unsuited for levels of such seniority. Such a thing wouldn't stop Dietrich though. With little concern for the mess he continually spread from his hands, he unzipped his jacket and slid a necklace from beneath his shirt collar, a worn ID card at the end. The flashing card slot accepted it with hungry glee and the red LEDs turned to a stagnant green glow with the elevator's ever-giddy chime noise. Once the card was removed the doors slid apart in approval.

The floor he stepped onto was hardly any different than the other floors if one judged by appearance alone. There were hallways, rooms with closed doors, rooms with open doors, small lounge areas where higher level officials were relaxing and engaging in idle chatter. Conversation would die down to a degree whenever he strode by, speculative and disdainful looks boring in the large man's side and back; most of the present day Officers and many Commanders only knew of his former actions against Aqua from word of mouth, but those who had been present in those days made themselves known with unmistakeably venomous glares.

All were nuances, easily ignored or filtered into his well adjusted emotional vats for later use.

As he headed down the last hall to the last door he was concerned with, the door was opened for him by one of the Officers. She gave him a neutral look, most likely aware of his return via the spies amongst the ranks who were ordered to keep an eye on him. They exchanged a brief glance and he shouldered by her, stepping into the hostile environment that was the office of his superior. There were several superiors within, in fact, all gathered to check up on him.

The man to whom the office belonged beckoned to Dietrich as he entered, making a flippant gesture in his direction. His voice boomed naturally as he spoke. "Remove that bloody hood of yours, fool, so we can see you proper." Each of the handful of officials gave their own sound or subtle gesture of agreement.

"..." Following orders, Dietrich wordlessly lowered his hood. Scattered sprinklings of red dirtied his golden face, his lips chapped and sparsely bloodied, presumably from a blow to the jaw or chin. His glower fell on the man behind the desk, speaking all of the voiceless curses he wished upon the him and the rest of the room's residents.

As initimidating as the look was, the group had long since learned that he would not attack them; in that one way he had been effectively broken.

"Better." The Commander huffed, folding his hands together with his elbows resting on his desk. "From what we hear you were successful?" Dietrich gave a simple nod.

The man at the desk lifted a brow expectantly, prompting the unwilling Grunt to put a hand to the first pokeball on his lanyard, releasing the massive Seviper to fill the center of the room with him. Even with the knowledge of its obedience, the magnificent specimen's sheer mass was enough to make a few of the room's contents flinch. This seems to please the freshly released Pokemon, judging by the ripple and satisfied hiss it uttered.

Like the mocking creature it was, Seviper slithered smoothly across the carpet, coiling its thick body loosely about Dietrich's legs. Its blue eyes cast a mocking gaze up at him, saying quite clearly what it thought of the man, the puppet in his grasp. Just as were the officials around him, the serpentine Pokemon held his strings in its grasp, hands or no hands.

"Seviper," One of the women in the room interrupted their silent exchange. The Pokemon swiveled its head to the other Commander, unimpressed. "Do you have knowledge of any changes to report?"

There was a moment of silence as Seviper looked back to his supposed 'master', tilting its head in contemplation. Dietrich's eyes narrowed, quite familiar with the jeering expression. Should the reptilian creature confirm any suspicions, Dietrich would be interrogated and potentially whipped back into shape -- literally. Even if there was nothing to be feared from him at all, the very essence of the idea was rather entertaining in Seviper's eyes...

"Well?"

Alas, Seviper gave a condescending huff and looked back to the pair's authorities with a shake of his head. It would be merciful this time, but a sideways glance served as a reminder to the Grunt that it didn't always have to be the case, should he displease the vain creature.

"Very good." The desk-bound Commander piped up. With the protocols out of the way, he gestured to the door. "Go clean yourself up. We don't need the stench of Magma blood stinking up our hallways."

Dietrich couldn't get out of there fast enough. The red flash of his Pokeball snagged the Seviper right up from around him and he was on his way out in a flash, headed for the elevator and the third floor, where his room and a shower were waiting for him.

If there was one thing he and the administrators could agree on, it was that they wanted as little to do with each other as possible. So long as protocols were completed and there was nothing ill-advised to report, they would keep out of each other's ways as much as possible. It didn't make things more enjoyable, but it did keep Dietrich's murderous intent focused on the Grunts instead of them. That was always a plus.

{At the Daycare Center}

Ricki heard the door open once, then once again but didn’t care as she let her Ekans out, preparing to train him and the Seviper hatchlings they had. “Okey Kaa, let’s do some work, eh sweetie?†She curred at him, holding the small Ekans in her hands as she started to walk towards the tiny training room the Daycare had. Such a practical building it was, everything in one place.

She didn’t get that far really, and Mr. T quickly stopped her with that annoying grin in his eyes. “Your friends have arrived. I suggest you get things sorted before our other friends come along†He muttered cheerfully. Ricky scowled as she let Kaa slide over her shoulders, and walked to the entrance. “Geezes Delorne, Thayers, you sure don’t look suspiciously at all, hanging about here like that. Come along. Everything is ready, paperwork and the goodsâ€Â

Ricki turned around just as quick as she had arrived, not bothering linger there at all, and instead just walked back into the backroom, while she continued to talk. “If you should stop, the papers says you work for Mr.T here at the Center, and is taking the eggs home for incubating due some research. Officially the eggs contains three Poochyenas,three Nidorinos, and three tentacools. Delorne, you have one of each species and Thayers have two. “ She spoke quickly, with her voice barely a whisper as she lead them into the protected room, that as usual was humid and warm, filled with red lighted heatlamps over various incubators.

She picked carefully up the first backpack, handing it to Delorne “For safety reasons, I won’t tell you what’s in them, but there is a note inside of the bags with information. Don’t get caught. “ She said with a bossy grunt at him, as if she fully expected him to fail. “Thayers, I was expecting more people with you. I need to repack the eggs from the backpacks to a shoulder bag, otherwise it will look weird. “ Ricki finally stopped and looked at them, arching her brows up. “Any questions?â€Â

{At the DayCare Center}

"No more suspicious than I usually do," Dorian said with a sly smile. He had met Ricky on many an occasion, seeing as she was actually a part of team Rocket, they got to know each other a bit. As well, he knew that absolutely loathed being called Ricky, and with her temper being what it was he was careful not to do so unless he had a clear path of escape where he could outrun her.

"I'm glad the paperwork is already done though, I get enough of that already." This was more of a whisper to himself than to anyone else. Being very aware that there was indeed, a team Magma member behind him, Lucas was careful of what he said. Though they weren't a real problem to him or the Rockets as of late, you never know about them these days. Of course, that could be applied to just about everyone these days. Tension had risen through the roof in the last few years, with Aqua being more active in trying to extinguish the other teams and the remainders of the resisting teams pushing to find a way to defeat them. So you could never be too careful.

Dorian seemed to be having the same sentiment as he kept his bladed arms at his side and casted a glance back at the Houndoom and the boy every once in a while. The fossil pokemon had decades of experience and had learned the hard way that people aren't always what they seem; humans and pokemon alike. Following her down the stairs to the incubator room, Lucas was sure to keep his voice low and Dorian kept his wary eye on the Magma lacky.

Once they reached the humid room, Lucas let out a small sigh of relief. It was good to know that Rocket still had some people in the right places. Not to mention that they had made it there before Aqua, which was a large bonus. Snickering slightly at the comment 'don't get caught' the tall agent replied, "Please, I haven't been caught yet and never will. My father trained me better than that." Carefully hefting the bag onto his shoulders, the man made sure not to disturb the precious cargo inside. What little was there could be used to further the plans of Team Rocket and grow their numbers gradually back to where they had been before the flood. 'Or I could always use them for myself.' Lucas entertained the idea for a moment but decided to leave that for a different town. Right now he had to get out of the DayCare and back to the HQ without seeming suspicious. Not a hard task for a smooth talker like him, but he had to be careful nevertheless.

"Before I leave, do you have any other paperwork for me?" The other 'paperwork' he was asking for was her weekly report. Every member of Rocket was made to put in a report on the weekly basis even if nothing had changed from the last week. It was mandantory and used to monitor their members movements, and the activity in the city. While he thought it a complete hassle, he knew if he came back without it he would be the one to get in trouble with her for not getting it from her. After what happened last time for him not retrieving a report, well let's just say he wasn't inclined to miss another. At this point Dorian was standing behind Lucas with his fully attention of the pair from Magma. The boy didn't look like he would be much of a problem in a fight, Lucas could probably beat him down pretty easy. And the Houndour hardly looked like it would stand a chance against himself. Giving a huff of superiority, the fossil pokemon shifted its weight on its feet a little, restless to get out of the building and back into the rain. He liked the rain.

{At the Daycare Center}

Tan kept his attention trained on everything, from the ceiling tiles to the old man who called for the help. Daniel smirked ever so slightly at the greeting he'd expected out of Ricky. Carrying Tan and keeping a distance away from the man called Delorne, and the name started to sound familiar the more he thought about it. Probably a Rocket, which he felt a little more comfortable about. He didn't mind the Rockets as much as the Aquas, which he avoided like the Plague, as they didn't get so Hey There's a Magma Time To Show Them Who's Boss happy. Though, the constant watching of the Kabutops did start to brush against him and Tan alike the wrong way.

Following the two older people through the building, Daniel was quite happy with the fact that the daycare staff already filled out the paperwork, Daniel never did like having to fill out the little he's done, which is partially the reason why he was happy as a grunt for Magma. He listened to Ricky with slight interest, as he kept staring down the Kabutops instead. Tan's attention was on anything and everything, so he was out of the question of doing anything but barking. The Houndour hung onto one of Daniel's arms, silent, as the other was relaxed by his side, his hand in his pocket. Tan's newest attention span grabber were the red lights, which presumably heated the eggs and helped kept the room as humid as it is. Daniel enjoyed how the room felt, it wasn't like the cold rain outside or the salty smell of ocean water all the time.

Daniel watched as Ricky gave the bag to Delorne, who Daniel was also keeping his mind preoccupied with as he tried to figure out who he was. Eventually, he remembered that the man was in fact a member of Team Rocket, and a good one at that. However, Daniel stopped amusing himself with his own thoughts when he heard his name, and snapped total attention to Ricky, though by the look on his face one probably couldn't tell he was in the middle of thinking. "I wasn't expecting being sent alone either, though it probably looked less suspicious," he said calmly, Tan still not paying attention. Instead, he dropped down from his owner's arms and walked over to some eggs, sniffing them curiously. "Hey, come on now, you know this isn't the place to run off," Daniel said quietly to his Pokemon while the Rocket asked about any more paperwork, whatever that meant. Tan looked at Daniel like he was speaking a foreign language, and continued to sniff at the eggs. For being with each other for so long, they still had their bouts of unexpected lack of obedience, and this was one of their times.

{At the Aqua HQ}

Jenna's eyes gazed lazily out her bedroom window from her place on the bed. She had been in her room for most of the day so far due to that fact that she wasn't allowed to go visit her family at this point, and she didn't have any missions to complete. The latter she didn't care about much at all seeing as she didn't agree with what they went her out to do in the first most of the time. However, not being able to see her family did cause a small stirring of emotions. She hadn't seen them in the past two weeks and she was starting to worry greatly about their well beings. The fact was, lately she had been under a higher level of supervision which made it near impossible to sneak away to see them. Her guess was they were trying to push her to miss them enough to want them to come up and take the jobs at Aqua so that she could be closer to them. It was a rotten thing to do, causing her such sorrow, but she knew it wasn't beneath these kinds of people. 'I won't give up that easily,' she thought to herself.

A knocking at her door caused her to start slightly, but she quickly put on her face of indifference and answered, "Come in," with the most unenthusiastic voice she could muster, which wasn't that hard for someone in her position. Lanore had been sleeping by her feet before the knock had sounded at the door which had just woken her up. The Nidorina let out a low grunt as she stared at the door, waiting to see who had woken her up.

Through the door came an Aqua member she identified as an Officer due to his clothes. "Hey Jen, got something for you to do instead of sitting there like a bump on a log all day. Need you to go down to the DayCare Center and grab the eggs that have been reserved for us."

Jen made no change in her facial expression but a feeling of irritation did fill her for a moment. 'At least it's only retrieving an egg this time and nothing more,' she commented mentally trying to cheer herself up without much success. "Alright fine. I'll be on my way in a second."

"Oh and don't forget to take one of the other grunts with you to help carry the eggs. And we wouldn't want you to get 'distracted' from your assignments while you were out so they will help keep you on track." The smirk on his face told Jenna that the real reason she had to take someone else was to make sure she didn't run off to see her family; typical.

"Fine, I'll be sure to do that. Now please leave," the last part of her sentence had a bit of an edge to it as her glare sharpened a bit towards the man. He just laughed as he turned and left the room, not bothering to shut the door behind him.

Erecting herself, Jenna stretched her back out and looked down to her friend Lanore. "Come on girl, let's get going." Swinging her jacket on before leaving the room, Jenna shut and locked her door behind her and made her way out to the main area.

{Outside the HQ}

Seeing a grunt already waiting to accompany her on the task ahead, a sigh escaped her in a show of resignment. Stepping out into the cold rain was quite the contrast to the warm room she had just come from. "So, your the one that they sent to spy on me huh?"

The other grunt didn't say anything, just gave a sarcastic smile that told her he was indeed the one that she would be travelling with. "Alright then, keep up with me or get left behind. I would hate for something to happen to you because I got away." A slight tinge of venom touched her words as a small sadistic small flashed across her face before it went back to indifference. Pulling a small white cigarrette from her pocket, she decided now would be a good time to light one up. Lanore made a face in disapproval at the action but Jenna simply shrugged and lit the end of it. Her Nidorina had never liked the fact that she had picked up smoking and for a while tried to get her to stop. but after two years she figured that getting her trainer to stop would be impossible, so instead she just kept her from doing so as often as when she had started.

Taking a deep breath, a long line of cancer enducing smoke passed Jenna's lips. Not even caring whether the Grunt was listening or not she said, "Hurry up, we don't want to get soaked before we get there." With that she started off to the DayCare with Lanore and the Grunt in tow.

{In the Wilderness}

Lynn turned up the collar on her jacket, the movement giving just the smallest bit of shelter from the rain. Her partner sat silently beside her as they watched the one-eyed Houndoom shudder in the rain, half in cold, half in rage.

Steam billowed from the hell hound's mouth, his fiery rage fighting the cold nipping at their noses. "Inferno again, Uno!" she barked, dissatisfied by the hound's attitude at the training excersize.

Instead, he Snarled which made the Weavile bare it's little fangs. His wirey little voice gave a shrill growl, telling the misbehaving pokemon to do as he's told. Frustration built in the dog and he belched loose an Inferno, warping nearby trees and setting them aflame, even in the pouring rain. The Weavile became content again, his ear feathers back as he watched the show of power.

"Again, Uno," her voice contained the same harsh tone, as before, if not stronger at his refusal to listen to orders.

The hound bared his thick canines in another Snarl, instead sending a Frustration at one of the warped trees. With a groan, the weakened wood toppled to the ground, sending an earthy clatter amongst the forest. He landed on his feet, his blind eye turned hauntingly toward his supposed "master". Steam rose from his muzzle with every breath, a glow emitting from the back of his mouth.

"Damnit, Uno!! I said INFERNO!!" she snarled at him. She was starting to lose patience with him, which was uncharacteristic for her.

Uno turned and belted out an inferno in her direction. Lynn and Loki jumped out of the way, scattering. From the cloud of flames that sizzled sinisterly in the rain, Uno flung himself in a Giga Impact, aiming for Lynn.

Before he could connect, a small fist connected with his blind cheek, pulling a shrieking whine out of his chest and sending him reeling across the ground, landing with his head at a funky angle, due to his horns. Loki landed safely on the ground, his little teeth bared in his own snarl. A single Brick Break had sent the dog flying.

Uno pulled himself together and stood as soon as stars stopped dancing in his good eye. Snarling, he had just a split second to stand and take in the scene before him before Loki unleashed another Brick Break on him, followed by Crush Claw and Beat Up.

"Loki, Enough!" Lynn commanded after the dog had surely learned his lesson.

Obediently, the smaller pokemon stepped back and stared down his master's unruly hound. The dog laid limp, blood trickling from wounds gathered in the fray. Loki himself had hardly a scratch on him, much more practiced in the art than this dog, apparently.

Lynn knelt at the hound's head. "You'll learn." She couldnt help but give him an affectionate pet. The hound was a good pokemon, doing what he thought was right. But until she could gain his trust and have him work for her, there was a line that he had to know not to cross, and if she needed to, she'd teach him the hard way.

She tapped the dog's pokeball at her chest, and he dissappeared into it in a flash of red. She stood then, Loki looking up to her. "Come Loki. We've fooled around out here for long enough. I get the feeling Bossman is looking for us back at HQ."

Loki gave a sound and hopped after her, falling in step beside her, his little legs going twice as fast to keep up with her longer stride.

The woman rolled her eyes and snorted at him "That's just pure luck and my skills that have caused that. If it was up to just you, you'd be caught. Could just as well break into jail and make it done" She sneered at him, looking almost smugfully at him. "Get going. I'mma stop by later with the last paperwork, nothing important anyway, and forgot it at home" She arched her brow up before shrugging her shoulder and turned looking at Daniel with a stiff smile.
"Right, Thayers. you now, I just need to find a bag" She ignored Lucas, fully expecting him to leave.

She turned, kneeling down by the table and started to search through the cabinet for a suitable bag. Her Ekans slicked off her shoulder and onto the table, coiling himself around the two shoulderbags and eyed the two men, almost daring them to try anything. Ricki kept one eye on him, as she pulled out the larger shoulderbag and scowled. "Okey, this looks really suspiciously. You'll be caught if you run into Aqua, and they are coming here soon to pick up eggs themselves. Drat" She looked at the bag for amoment, hand moved up and to the back of her neck, rubbing it slowly.

"It's a risk. If you get caught, they will beat you, trying to get you to tell where you got the eggs, but they can't be traced" She said cheerfully, looking at him as she slowly packed the eggs into the new bag, wrapping them in more protective and safely.  "But you know the drill" Ricky turned, leaning against the table and crossed her arms over her chest and smirked at him. "No pain no gain. Good luck!"

{At the DayCare Center}

"Luck is a skill my dear, as long as it holds out. And mine has been doing fine for my entire life. Of course, you could just be calling it luck because you are too blind to see it as anything else." Lucas said with a smile. "Don't kid yourself either, it had nothing to do with your skill. The only reason you're here anyway is because you can't work with people at all with that rotten attitude and even worse personality of yours. Not a single person within our group would stand within a ten foot radius of you unless it was to save their lives. And maybe not eve then. Which is why you got stuck here at the DayCare."

Dorian had his eyes on the other's pokemon, waiting for one of them to attempt something, begging silently. He hadn't been in a fight in weeks besides training, and he wasn't allowed to unleash full power among his teammates. They would stand a chance against his strategic mind anyway. The ancient fossil pokemon had been trained since the day he had been revived for one purpose, and that was battle. Though, he wasn't simply a tank that went flying and screaming into battle, no he was taught in the more thought provoking ways of combat. Dorian had actually been taught to use his mind and to use the strengths of his opponents against them. After a while he also happened to become self sufficient when it came to fighting. All he needed now was the signal that he was allowed to attack and he would rip his adversaries to shreds, no matter how many he was faced with. Though, overcoming grass types was still out of his reach unless they were under his level, the Kabutops didn't have to worry about many of them since the flood. So, his eyes darted back and forth between the Houndour and Ekans, waiting for one of them to step out of line so he could sink his sickles into their backs.

Shrugging Lucas said, "Alright, I'll let them know that you'll be bringing the paperwork by later, though if you forget it this time it will be your head to roll not mine." Shifting the pack on his shoulders into a more confortable position he turned to face the stairwell. Looking to the Magma grunt, he patted the boy on the back and said, "Don't worry, if you get caught and beat, you will probably be interrogated and tortured for the information on the eggs, but they are as Ricky said, untraceable. That, and then they will try to get more info about what team you are on and such from you with repeated beatings and even more torturing. But here's the good thing, with you being a grunt they will eventually figure out that you don't know anything and let you go." The smile on his face was mocking and sarcastic as he finished. Though it was quite malicious for his next string of comments. "That is, if you survive. But, don't let your mind rest of it. As for you Ricky my dear, have fun wasting away alone down here with your snake and old Man T up there. You two make such a good pair." Cackling a little the man waved his hand behind him as he headed up the stairs and called behind him, "Take care Rick!"

With that Lucas made his way upstairs with Dorian reluctantly following, still hoping someone would try to attack so that he could put them down. At this point it didn't matter whether is was a pokemon or a human, he would take on any of them. Unfortunately, that didn't look like it was going to happen. So the two made their ways up the stairs and towards the doors back into the downpour that was still relentlessly pounding outside.

{Heading back into Town}

Keeping her collar flipped up for the meagre protection it gave, Lynn walked quickly to get out of the rain and back to the HQ. The rain was starting to chill her, though she could easily tell her partner, now half-way jogging to keep up with her, didnt mind the cold in the least--hell, he probably enjoyed it, seeing the way his every-other step was a skip to splash at the rain soaked ground. Her cotton coat did nothing to prevent the water from soaking her to the bone, and now with the layer of clothing so close to her skin saturated, it was preventing her from warming. She was almost tempted to ask Uno to use Inferno on her.

Rounding the bend, the Day Care Center came clear into her view. Though normally she'd all but wholly ignore the building, today it perked her interest--she could slightly make out the appearance of activity going on inside. It seemed very strange to her--it wasnt often she saw people other than the curators and helpers there. Making it seem unimplied, she moved her path toward the Center, trying to get a closer look.

Peeking in, she could see two people in civillian clothes--definately not Aquas. She gave a short-lived sneer before replacing it with a knowledgable smile; she recognized the Kabutops following one of the men. Having to lighten up her day a bit, she stopped at the edge of the walkway to the Center, waiting for the man to emerge. As soon as he did, she called to him;

"My my. Someone of your level sent out in the rain to do Grunt work? How saddening," she mocked.

Loki gave the Kabutops a wary look and took a step behind his master. An accomplished Aqua pokemon he may have been, but he was still careful when it came to pokemon bigger than himself. He looked almost pleading to his master, then to the pokeballs at her sash, his eyes on the lowest one.

A Changed World ~ Pokémon RP
Setting

The world does not look like it used to be. The landmasses that remain were once the highest of the mountains and have now been reserved for the few farms remaining. Some Pokemon have gone extinct, while others which once was rare now thrive in this strange, new world.

Locations:
Fallarbor City was once a dull little mountain town, but after the great Flood it has bloomed into the largest city on the land. It has the only harbor and most ships stops by once in a while to get new supplies and such. As such, this is the starting point for most people. Of course, standard city layout with PokeMart, PokeCenter etc.

Daycare Center is run by Mr. T, an old man and his wife. The building is large and they are the only one in town who has permission to breed pokemon. All the teams get their pokemon from them, and the Daycare center collaborates with other Centers around, to spread the various pokemon types.

Wilderness: The wilderness, the last areas where wild land Pokemon still lives, mostly centered around Fallarbor City, and other smaller uninhabited Islands, as well as the waste water.

Headquarters: Each team have their own respectable headquarters. Team Aqua has a fine office building on the Harbor of Fallarbor, Team Rocket has a basement in the city and Team Magma has a cabin located in the forest.

The Factions:

Team Aqua: From Grunts to Commanders, these are the police, the military the ruling force of our changed World. Grunts do the dirty work, Agents do the co-op operations, Commanders lead and nobody knows the whereabouts of the leader, Archie. Despite this, the Commanders and higher ranking Officers keeps the wheels turning and have a total control over the world.

Team Aqua control the boats, the harbor and the city of Fallarbor.

Team Magma: Though the opposing faction of team Aqua originally was forced to disband when Aqua and Kyogre took over the world and changed it, this group didn't stop by that. Infiltrating Team Aqua, working in the shades and borders, they are searching for the Red Orb in hopes of one day being able to awaken Groudon in hopes to restore our world.

Team Rocket: If Profit can be made, Team Rocket is involved. Originally they were officially disbanded when Giovanni went missing again-, though a small chapter remained in the dull town of Fallarbor and by all luck managed to survive and now watches with mild amusement of the bickering of Magma and Aqua.

Plot

It has been nearly 50 years since the Great Flood that caused the overwhelming change. Team Aqua overtook control over the world in a grand coup, and gained full military and political power. Despite that Archie hasn't been seen since days after the Flood. Though this wasn't common knowledge to anyone save those of highest ranks, a leakage caused by infiltrating Team Magma spies have cause stirring and trouble among the Team Aqua Grunts.

While Team Aqua's newest front figure, Archie Junior is trying to maintain the control, not only with the people, but also his staff, Team Magma are pushing with all their might, fighting dirty and tries to shake the very foundation of Team Aqua all in hopes to divert attention for their ultimate goal. Finding the Red Orb to restore life as it was.

Team Rocket are kicking it low, and chilling in a basement in Fallarbor. Though few in numbers, they are the ones holding the key to everything. With knowledge of the whereabouts of the Orbs, as well as other secrets and trick of trade, they might end up as the saviors of the world, or those that doomed us all.

Which side do you take?

History

Nobody expected Team Aqua to manage it, to stir and anger the Kyogre, and such the waters raised and the land masses vanished slowly. Only the highest areas managed to survive, and people and Pokemon flooded to them, but the aftermath nobody could fully expect.

The first Pokemon that vanished were the grass Pokemon, then birds and many of the flight Pokemon followed close. One by one, species of Pokemon vanished from the wild, until almost all was gone.

Only after almost all of the pure grass types had vanished, people noticed that the Electric Pokemon had almost completely banished, only few were left, and among those most of those were tamed by Trainers prior to the cataclysmic events.

But life went on, and people and the remaining Pokemon adapted to their new water world. Lands were saved to grow food, while people moved to the ocean. On floating villages or even just boats and platforms, people have made their lives work as good as they can.

While the main villainous groups vanished from the surface when they realized what their leaders had caused. While some strive to continue the newfound way of life, others dreams of change. Where do you stand?
