Linheraptor was a recently found (2010) dinosaur that is known from one single but very well-preserved fossil. Belonging to the same family as velociraptor it displayed the same clawed toe and was an agile and intelligent predator, hunting across the plains and woodlands of late cretaceous central Asia. Despite the many similarities to Velociraptor, it is not Velociraptor's closest relative. |

Linheraptor was found in the Wulansuhai Formation, which is part of a group of red sandstne rocks in Inner Mongolia, China. It is the fifth dromaeosaurid discovered at that formation - which is famous for its preservation of intact, complete skeletons!
